We were a group of nine people who reserved a table ahead of time. Since it was a big crowd we shared our food. We ordered appetizers, drinks, main course and dessert. A couple of people ordered separately as take out for their home. The service was good and we were meeting after a long time hence, didnt pay much attention to anything but went with the flow. It was not even closing time but the waitress came and told us the kitchen is going to close and so the moment we heard this we rushed to order more as some of them were strict vegetarians. But we realized the kitchen was not closing that soon. Anyway, when it came to paying the bill, it was decided the take out items will be paid by the individuals. We asked for the bill and saw that our bill included the service charge and then for take out there was a service charge included too. This seemed very strange as for takeout how can you ask for a service charge? Our friend asked the waitress, to which she responded- when you come in a group and ask for takeout, its a lot of work for us to fill in a box hence the service charge. This reason didnt seem reasonable hence my friend asked for the manager. The manager came and was already in an apologetic mode. My friend explained the situation and the manager without asking anything further did a refund for all the takeout items and apologized on behalf of his staff. The other thing, I had ordered a cocktail and I didnt want that to be included in the group bill. Hence ahead of time I requested the waitress to not include the price for cocktail in the main bill and I will pay it separately. She agreed and got my cocktail bill. Later while we were checking our main bill to make sure we were paying for what we ordered, to our surprise, the waitress added the cocktail bill in the main bill as well as she gave a separate bill to me which I had requested. The food was great and I have been going to this place since 2005. I always enjoyed the food, service and the manager was a nice person then too. This time I learned a lesson, always check your bill and when in doubt ask for the manager as he will never be wrong.
Darda Seafood Restaurant

We used to have a great experience at this restaurant until 2021 where we started noticing drastic changes. My entire extended family has been coming here for more than 25 years since we were never able find a better Halal Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. The food used to taste excellent and came out quick and fresh. Our standard orders are the Three-flavored Fried Rice, Three-flavored Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Beef Noodle Soup, Salt & Pepper Fish, Chili Chicken with Garlic, and Kung Pao Beef.During our last visit though, we found the food to be quite greasy and significantly less in quantity and quality. Furthermore, the waitress brought us an incorrect item that we didn't order. When we kindly said this wasn't our order, she kept insisting that nobody else ordered it but us; repeatedly trying to defend herself. She did eventually replace the item with what we ordered, but the whole scene was just embarrassing and such a mood spoiler given that the people around us could clearly hear her frustration on a fault that wasn't ours.Later on, we noticed that our bill was higher than expected. We asked for the itemized receipt but they only gave us the receipt with the total amount. To our surprise, we found that the restaurant had added an 18% Service Charge to our bill without any notification. When confronted, the lady at the counter said that “DINE-IN” means an automatic 18% Service Fee is charged to the bill regardless of whether it is one person or ten people.Honestly speaking, our entire family thinks that their food quality and customer service is getting worse by day. On top of that, there is the default 18% Service Charge that makes us think twice before walking into the restaurant. If you plan to visit this place for dine in, please be aware that 18% of the total amount (including tax) is already added as a service charge as your bill, and that too for one of the worst services you will ever get at a restaurant. Good luck!

The absolute worst food Ive had in quite a long time. We used Groupon, and still it was the worst deal Ive come across in a long time -- someone would have to pay me to eat that food. Also comes with free stomach upset -- reason why I am compelled to write a review to warn others. Not sure why its so highly rated, I wonder if they are all legitimate -- or maybe theres some supreme master cult influence. Google loving hut supreme master ching hai and youll see what I mean. While not a vegan myself, my partner is, and weve tried all kinds of vegan restaurants. This place is worst than abysmal -- if thats possible. Things we ordered:1. hand roll -- the picture looks like what youd get at a sushi restaurant. Dont be fooled, its got no sushi flavor. First, no sushi rice. Its basically lettuce wrapped in seaweed with some cucumber and a piece of shrimp. Its cold, and so felt likely literally some cold left-over from the fridge slapped together2. wonton in hot oil -- a classic in szechuan food. Again, it looks nothing like the picture in the menu. We felt deceived again. None of the szechuan spicy peppery flavor. Wonton felt like they came out of a frozen package -- lukewarm and chewy thick skin with little soy bits filling (no vegetables).3. healthy rice -- if you could call that healthy. Again, looks nothing like the picture in the menu. It looks and tastes like left-over rice drenched in overly sweet sauce and oil. There were a bit of sesame and pinenuts, but they were NOT cooked together -- Merely tossed together. I took a bite and could not finish. Definitely the worst dish of them all.4. Fried shrimp thing -- it was the only thing that was acceptable. Still, looks NOTING like the picture in the menu. It was deep-fried instead of tempura style. Its the only thing that I felt alright eating. One problem was, it was padded with lettuce so half the volume of the disk was just junk. Many items we got were loaded with junk stuff like lettuce and tomatoes (they throw that on even the rice, seriously?). I left hungry and am glad that I didnt have to finish the food. Even with Groupon the bill came out $40+ with tips. Youd have to pay me to eat that stuff. Both my partner and I got stomach upset (pain, excessive gas and bloat) after eating. Couldnt shake it off after workout either. Coincidence? I think not. Theres also weird vibe at the restaurant with the cult supreme master TV playing. I guess you could say, its literally got a cult following. Do yourselves a favor, go north and visit Veggie Lee for all vegan good Chinese food, you wont be disappointed. Hell even Mint and Basil is better.

Barbecued pork and shrimp rice roll $9.5Nest egg beef porridge $9.25Herbal Chicken Feet $9.5The three types are combined into a set to relieve each others fatigue. It is highly recommended. The rice roll itself is quite satisfactory, and its sauce is great. It is a salty soy sauce with a little scallion oil, but it is still a bit bland overall. Adding a little chili sauce to enhance the flavor is quite delicious. The beef porridge has the texture of moose porridge, which is very similar to Kinmen porridge and very smooth. It will feel bland when you first eat it, so take a few mouthfuls of rice rolls, especially the dried shrimps in the rice rolls. When you want to change the taste, take a mouthful of porridge. At this time, the light taste will suddenly become smooth and warm, like drinking. The soup can be eaten one bite at a time. A little green onion and shredded ginger added to the porridge can also enhance the flavor and add the finishing touch. The meat of the medicinal chicken feet is very soft and tender. You can separate the bones and flesh with your tongue. It tastes very good with the small cartilage. The taste of the medicinal food is also very mild. It removes the fishy smell while retaining the meaty taste. If eaten alone: rice rolls 80 points, porridge 70 points, chicken feet 85 pointsIf paired together, it will become 90 pointsIf the vegetable dirt on the dishes is not cleaned, points will be deducted.

Do not go to this restaurant. One of the worst customer service and worst food quality that I ever seen in Bay Area.Owner or whoever works there at night time is rude and does not welcome the order.I ordered at 9:50 PM (5 min away from this location), then owner told me “cash only cash only” hung up on me. I had to go ATM to get a cash then owner calls me at 9:55 PM to check where am I. I said “i will be there in 2 minutes” then hung up on me again.Once I arrived, no receipt was provided.I left a tip and let her know that “sorry i didnt know that your store closes at 10 PM”.Opened a food at home, noodle was uncooked (raw, dried, not able to eat).I wasted $17 (dont even know the cost of the food, no receipt, rude customer service) at this location.Strongly not recommended!!If you dont wish or already decided to not accept the order, just cancel the order in the beginning. There are much better locations in Milpitas.

Title: A Delightful Fusion at Gao's Kabob and Crab: Where East Meets West!Review:Today, 12-30-23,I had the pleasure of dining at Gao's Kabob and Crab, and I must say, it was a culinary journey worth raving about. This unique eatery brings together the rich flavors of Chinese skewers and the zesty tang of Cajun seafood, creating a fusion that tantalizes the taste buds in the most delightful way. From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, making us feel right at home. We started with their signature Chinese skewers - each one was a masterpiece, perfectly seasoned and grilled to smoky perfection. The lamb skewer was particularly noteworthy, with its succulent, melt-in-your-mouth quality. But the real star of the evening was the Cajun seafood. We opted for the seafood boil, a medley of shrimp, crab, and corn, all drenched in a savory Cajun sauce that had just the right kick of spice. It was a messy affair, but utterly satisfying and delicious. What truly surprised me was their kids' menu - a thoughtful inclusion in such a specialized restaurant. My little one ordered the chicken tenders and fries, which were not only affordable but also perfectly crispy and tender. It's not often you find a place that caters so well to both adult and young palates. In conclusion, Gao's Kabob and Crab is a hidden gem that offers an extraordinary blend of flavors. It's a place where families can enjoy a diverse range of dishes, all served with impeccable quality and at a great value. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their mouthwatering menu!
pho & bun
1810 Milmont Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Pho & Bun in Milpitas will definitely suffice your cravings for some delicious Vietnamese food. This place absolutely deserves a 5-star rating.I was starving when I walked in, but thankfully, the service was incredibly fast. I didnt have to wait long at all before I was enjoying a steaming bowl of pho. The temperature of the pho was just perfect, and I didnt have to wait or be extra cautious before I slurped. We tried two different pho options - the PHỞ TÁL NAM, BO VIÊN (rare steak, flank, and meatball), and the PHỞ TÁI, BÒ VIÊN (rare steak and meatball). Both were phenomenal! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the meat was tender and delicious. Truth be told, I inhaled that bowl. It was gone within 5-7 minutes. The portions for both the meat and the noodles were very generous. Each pho came with the side of leafy greens and veggies as one would expect. Hot pho after a hike on a cold and rainy day - the expectations were high, and this placed delivered in every aspect. No Vietnamese meal is complete without Vietnamese coffee, and Pho & Bun did not disappoint. Their coffee was amazing! It struck the perfect balance of sweetness and strong, intense coffee flavor. Just be warned, it comes packed with ice, so the actual coffee content is a little less. You can always ask them for light ice.The restaurant itself has a lovely Vietnamese interior with beautiful wall paintings. It creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements their delicious food.Overall, Pho & Bun in Milpitas is a fantastic spot for Vietnamese cuisine. The fast service, amazing coffee, and incredible pho make it a true gem. I highly recommend checking it out!
Asian Bowl

We visited this place last Friday. We ordered Manchurian Sizzler, Malaysian Roti Prata,Passion Fruit Lemonade and Hazelnut Bliss. This place has good ambience and was not too crowded. The Malaysian Roti Prata was fresh, flaky and sauce was flavourful.Passion Fruit Lemonade was very refreshing and had real passion fruit pulp in it.The Hazelnut Bliss(Vietnamese Coffee) had a nice taste and we loved the flavor of the coffee. The Manchurian sizzler plate had Spring Rolls instead of fries(because they were out of fries). The spring rolls were crispy and tasty. The Veg Manchurian balls were crispy and had good taste. Fried rice and Noodles were a little bland but when combined with the sauce given both tasted very delicious. Everything was very tasty overall. But I think for 18$ the quantity was a little less(probably because of inflation, cant blame them). The fact that this place is fully vegetarian and all the dishes we ordered were flavourful, would make us go back to this place again to try out some more dishes. Best Indo Chinese food in Bay area.
Daeho Kalbi Jjim & Beef Soup

Long waiting line despite having registered on their Yelp wait list. Being 7 in line with a group of 6 people, Yelp told us that it took 45 minutes before our turn, which would be around 6:30pm. The freeway was also jammed with traffic which caused us to go 5m/h. Of course we weren't worried because we had to wait for 45 minutes. Then, the app notified us to see host at 6:10??! We were really confused, but there was nothing you can do in traffic jam. When we arrived before 6:30pm, we were told that our table was pushed back to the end of the line because we were not there when they called?!!!! Totally confused wait list. You didn't expect your customers to register on wait list and be there at your beck and call, did you?The food was great and all. Cheese kalbijjim was good and nice performance. The bibimbab was just average, and the kalbi guksu was misleading. They said it's sweet pumpkin noodle soup, but none of us could actually taste the pumpkin flavor. One thing I disliked about them was their indifference in attention. When we left, my child left his toys behind. He was 3 years old and liked putting toys on the table. It was part of our faults for not checking all the stuff before leaving, but we only walked like 2 shops from the restaurant and I already hurried back when he cried his toys were still on the table.Look what I see? The table was cleared and cleaned up, but none of the staff saw my son's toys. When I described that they were a pink egg and a brown sea turtle, all the staff denied seeing them. I pursued them please check again because I remembered my son put them on the plate and covered them with a bowl. They checked the trash bin and told us no such thing indifferently, then said you might lost them somewhere else. I was upset!! I saw him playing with the toys on the table. And the toys were not small, either. We left the restaurant unhappy that night. The toys were not expensive but I didn't like the way they just told us off.
Cajun Crackn

My family and I had the pleasure of dining here on a Thursday evening around 6pm. We were fortunate to be seated immediately, as the restaurant quickly became crowded after our arrival. The ambiance of this place is absolutely incredible - it exudes a cool and fun vibe! The restaurant is spacious, with an abundance of tables and seats. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the exceptional service and the highly-trained staff. Our waiter, Corey, went above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable. He greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm, guiding us in selecting the most delightful dishes and drinks from the Yelp elite menu. Corey checked on us frequently, ensuring that everything was perfect. Now, lets talk about the food - oh my goodness, it was a fantastic and generous feast. The fried soft shell crab, accompanied by the sweet chili mayo sauce, was simply divine. The spiked strawberry lemonade struck the perfect balance of sweetness and alcohol, catering to my preference for a lighter alcoholic beverage. To add a touch of sourness to my liking, I squeezed in some lemon - a creative twist, dont you think? :)) .We also tried their macaron ice cream which were pretty good, not too sweet as well. We wanted to have the ube cocconut flavor but its sold out - probably the most popular. Well have it next time then. However, the true highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the boiled seafood. We opted for 2 lbs of head-on shrimps which were big. I especially enjoyed sipping the flavorful juice from the shrimp heads, combined with the house special sauce - it was absolutely amazing! Corns were yummy. This restaurant truly succeeds in every aspect, from the texture to the flavors, everything was spot on.One drawback: their restroom has an unusual design where the person inside is quite visible. This made me feel quite uncomfortable as I didnt want others to accidentally catch a glimpse of me. I hope they will fix it some day.
