Bonchon Pleasanton

First time visiting Bonchon....here are my impressions:1. service is good...attentive and friendly.2. food:a)edamame for appetizer was a rather small portion, enough for two people, but not much there. What shocked me was they charge $6.95 for what amounts to be a $0.50 serving. Other than salt, was rather bland, so how can they justify that price?b)Japchae-very delicious...I enjoyed this dish. Having said that, the portion was rather small....not that much meat, yet, the price was $15.95. Not a great value at all in my opinion.c)Bull Dak: this was freaking spicy! I mean, really, really spicy! But the flavors and textures were good, and the portion size was generous. But be prepared....this one had my lips on fire for an hour after the meal!3. the rest.....a)the plastic cups used for beverages looked like they were bought at a yard sale...extremely crazed (plastic had fine cracks all throughout). b)the acoustics in the restaurant were terrible. Everyones voices seemed like they were yelling, and the waitress actually turned UP the volume on the sound system, making the soundscape sound terrible between very loud music and peoples voices echoing all over the placec) we asked for a takeout container as we had leftovers...they added $0.30 to our bill for the takeout container!!!!! I had never heard of this in my entire life being charged for a takeout container!!!So, in conclusion, I dont think I will be returning. I think the food is very overpriced, and I did not enjoy the environment....they really should look at adding sound absorbing materials to address this. And stop charging customers for takeout containers...that is insulting.

The rice rolls here are so authentic! It's very smooth and the ingredients taste so fresh! Highly recommended! The porridge was good, I ordered Jidi porridge and fish fillet porridge! But maybe I ate the rice rolls first, which had a strong taste, and then I ate the porridge and felt that the porridge was not flavorful enough, but the porridge was very dense!I also ordered beef brisket and medicinal chicken feet, and I loved them both! In particular, the medicinal chicken feet are a flavor that is rarely eaten in the United States! The chicken feet are also marinated just right! If you like the medicinal taste of Angelica sinensis, I highly recommend trying it!The environment is also very clean, bright and comfortable! There is also Wifi (because the phone reception in this area is not very good, having Wifi is really important!)The service is also very good, enthusiastic, fast and friendly! This is a store I want to visit again! !

Urban Momo
2705 Stoneridge Dr Suite B, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
I recently ordered takeout from the newly opened restaurant and have a mixed review with the food. The highlight was definitely the chili momo sauce; it packed a deliciously punch of spice but the momos themselves were missing in terms of filling flavor. The Nepali fried rice was a hit, making it a comforting choice. The chicken kebab, while flavorful, was on the dry side, something I hope they can tweak for future orders. While I was there for the pickup, I noticed the spacious seating area and the opening times are more convenient compared to nearby restaurants.Despite some minor misses with the food, the overall experience was positive, and is a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

I'm honestly not one to give bad reviews but this was, hands down, the WORST sushi and WORST service I have ever experienced. I truly do not understand how this restaurant has a 4.6 rating. It started with the service-we were mostly ignored and had to flag down our waitress for drink orders upon arrival, then after our first rolls were served we didn't see the second rolls for well over 30 minutes, then we had to flag her down to get the check or we could've been there all night! Now the food…this was the smallest sushi portions I've ever been served and we eat sushi regularly. The fish was tiny portions, limp, and not fresh at all. My dynamite roll had some sort of, what looked like and had the texture of regurgitated fish. And the rainbow roll, that finally arrived after 30+ minutes, had almost no rice, old fish, and tasted like mayonnaise! I even tried removing that mayonnaise mess in the middle but a) it took me forever, and b) it left almost nothing of each piece of sushi! In addition, it was a whopping $18! I have never paid that much for a rainbow roll! When I abandoned the attempt to dig all the mayonnaise out on the second piece I was never asked by the server if I wanted a box or if there was a problem with the food! It was like they knew it was horrible! So after my husband had a beer and 2 rolls and I had water and 2 rolls our bill was $78!!! I have NEVER paid this much for sushi AND IT WAS TERRIBLE! I can absolutely say this because my husband and I eat sushi REGULARLY. We ended up going to a bar to listen to live music and eat bar food since we were still hungry!

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. The food is well prepared, I especially like the vegetable mixture that comes with some dishes(lightly sautéed pawns with vegetables in light sauce, and home style tofu). It's has generous amount of broccoli, bokchoy, cabbage, carrots and asparagus in the mix, cut size is right, cooked tender enough yet still remains its crispness. I don't even know how to cook it well like this in my own kitchen…we have came to this place for at least 6 times and have tried different dishes. The food quality has been consistent, which is really important… :) the price is very reasonable, given the food quality, downtown location, parking lot in the back, and of course, something also tickles my fancy, white table linens. Of all things, I haven't mentioned about the service… that's also brought me to write this review today. We always felt being treated nicely and warmly at this place. Today we came for lunch, I asked my husband to order me a Yuxiang pork, and he mistakenly ordered a different dish and we didn't notice that until the dishes came. I was initially surprised, this is not what I ordered… and the waiter quickly apologized and said they will make the dish I wanted. My husband told them that he made the mistake at ordering and we will pay for it. The waiter right away told us not to worry about it. Coming from a hospitality profession, this smooth gesture of always make your customers feel right, is a gold medal. Very nice people work at this restaurant, you can tell. The restaurant is clean, and artfully decorated. It has a nice wine bar and lovely cocktail selections. I can't wait to go back again and try something new! In the meantime, thank you!

Title: An Enchanting Journey into Blossom Vegans Culinary ExcellenceI recently had the pleasure of dining at Blossom Vegan, a plant-based oasis in the heart of Pleasanton, California, and it proved to be an unforgettable culinary journey. Its menu, extensive yet thoughtfully curated, celebrates the elegance and diversity of vegan cuisine.Upon entering, the warmth of the staff coupled with the restaurants serene and inviting ambiance immediately enveloped me. The decor, subtly blending contemporary and earthy tones, offered a comforting backdrop that perfectly complements the culinary experience. We started off our feast with the Kelp Tofu Salad. What a surprise! This dish artfully balanced textures and flavors. The firm yet tender tofu harmoniously combined with the crisp kelp brought the seas freshness right to our table. The salad was tossed in a zesty dressing that added a light, citrusy note, which did an excellent job of elevating the overall flavor profile. The Chowmein Vegetable Noodles were the next to grace our table. This dish demonstrated an exemplary blend of traditional and modern culinary techniques. The noodles were cooked to perfection, providing an indulgent, chewy consistency, while the medley of fresh vegetables added a refreshing crunch. The sauce was savory and fragrant, tying all the elements together with a subtly spicy kick that kept us going back for more.To quench our thirst, we indulged in the Thai Iced Tea. It was a wonderful elixir that harmoniously balanced creamy richness and robust tea flavor, with just the right hint of sweetness. The ice ensured a pleasing, cool contrast to the spice in our noodles, making it the perfect beverage to accompany our meal.In conclusion, Blossom Vegan did not just serve us food and drinks - it presented us with an immersive, enriching experience where flavor, texture, and aroma performed an enchanting symphony. A visit here isnt just about satisfying ones hunger; its about celebrating the versatility and sophistication of vegan cuisine. The superb service, exquisite menu, and tranquil atmosphere make it an absolute must-visit for both vegan enthusiasts and those looking to explore plant-based dining. Cant wait to return and uncover more of their culinary treasures!
Sabio on Main
501 Main St, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
Huge Disappointment, and honestly one of my least favorite dining experiences in recent memory. If I wrote this review in detail, it would be excessive- and most people wont read a 10 page review. Therefore, I have chosen to highlight what I feel were the lowest of the low points.1. They lost my reservation. Now, I can deal with a lost reservation- things happen. However, the lack of acknowledgement by management was shocking. Not one, but two different manager types (one male, one female) looked on as the poor hostess scrambled and squirmed while unsuccessfully checking the system for the reservation. Neither of the managers made eye contact with me or even offered a simple Im sorry about that. I have never been to a restaurant where management didnt offer an apology (at the very least) when an error was made on the restaurants behalf. They ended up seating us outside at a table facing the street....5 ladies in a single row with our backs to the restaurant with one heat lamp to share on a cold night.2. Gabriel. Our server. Not only is Gabriel fully incompetent as a waiter- he forgot 2 plates which we ordered and sent out 2 plates of something which we only ordered one plate of, he also brought out a glass of Zin when the request was for a Cab, and didnt offer to exchange it when the mistake was brought to his attention. Unfortunately, simply being a poor server doesnt adequately sum up my entire experience with Gabriel. He was incredibly rude, made sarcastic comments under his breath in a condescending tone: Oh well it actually takes about 72 hours for wine to ferment but WHATEVER (yes Gabriel my friend, I heard that), and made each of us feel very uncomfortable. He acted as if we were a huge inconvenience for him, and he wasnt afraid to make that point crystal clear. Completely inappropriate in the service industry.Even if the food was exceptional (which its not; its average, every dish lacked something- from seasoning, to acid, to balance. Overall, every plate with the exception of the deviled eggs was quite bland), I would never return due to the fact that this restaurant clearly does not regard service as an important factor. I really wanted to love this restaurant and was very excited to try it. Im not a princess and I dont expect to be treated like one, however it is not acceptable to be made to feel uncomfortable, either.Because we were so unhappy, as we were waiting for our food we decided to have only one drink each, finish our food and get out of that place as quickly as possible. The 5 of us left Sabio hungry and thirsty. We headed straight down the street to Haps and enjoyed more food, many more cocktails, dessert, and fantastic service. All things we were hoping to enjoy at Sabio, however, due to the atrocious service and underwhelming food, we moved on and spent our money elsewhere. To leave a restaurant hungry and ready to spend more money elsewhere? That speaks volumes.Im actually shocked by all the 5 star reviews. I realize that the restaurant game in the East Bay is lackluster at best, but if you feel this spot is worthy of 5 stars you should hop on BART and spend the same (or even much less!) money at one of numerous restaurants in the city which will blow your mind. One last thing I would also like to mention. One of my dinner companions that evening is a business owner in downtown Pleasanton, also in the service industry. She sees approximately 10 clients a day, 6 days a week. As do her employees. Im confident her word of mouth will travel faster than this Yelp review.
New India Bazar
3160 Santa Rita Rd, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
New India Bazaar is our grocery store of choice for all things Indian. We moved to Dublin recently from Sunnyvale and one of the things we missed was an equivalent of the India Cash and Carry store on El Camino. The few Indian stores that we visited were almost lacking in some thing or the other. Not so with this store. This store features fresh vegetables and fruits and also a variety of read-to-eat Indian stuff (refrigerated and other dry stuff). Plus the great part of this store is that it is clean and big, something that most other stores in the immediate vicinity lack. Shopping is easy here. As is everything in the Bay area, weekends are perhaps a wrong time to be in this store given the huge number of people who come here, but weekdays are a breeze. The staff is helpful and polite. You almost have everything you require and cant recollect a single instance where we wanted some stuff and we could not get it.Apart from groceries and readymade stuff-to-eat, this store also has utensils that anyone growing in India is familiar too. The store can improve in stocking these utensils, but then in all the months that I have been there, I have never seen anyone buying these utensils so perhaps the management is aware of this.In short, if you are looking to buy fresh groceries, pulses, grains, flour and other Indian food, this is the place that you want to go in the Dublin-Pleasanton area. I am fairly certain that you will not be disappointed. The only thing that I am not sure is cost and how they compare it to ICC. But then again, most of our grocery purchases that we do once a week is limited to a few 10s of dollars. Frankly, it doesnt matter whether we save or lose a buck or two.
Rubys & Roses Restaurant

Yesterday I had the braised beef on top of soy sauce noodles. The saltiness ruined the meal. The noodles were so salty I could not eat much of them and I was hangry...The braised beef was tasty but way fatty... I did complain about the saltiness of my meal and I was told by the waiter that I was not the only one. complaining. Other guests sent the food back..Why didnt I do that? I am too polite i guess. My friend ordered the melted cheese sandwich..it was mostly bread withvery little cheese...nothing special for the price. She was so disappointed. This place can be so much better with a little attention to detail. I did give them a second chance as everyone deserves a 2nd chance....On the another occasion I had their chicken marsala. This was presented to me almost cold with a ton of mushroom gravy. I could not believe the amount of gravy on my plate !!!!! It tasted very good...It didnt come with any bread or anything to sop up the gravy. I ordered some bread and it would have been nice if there was some butter...but no there wasnt . I think complimentary bread and butter should always accompany a meal like this.. I was charged extra for the couple tiny pieces of bread. The one piece of chicken was good and somewhere on the plate I was told t would be mashed potatoes. Somehow I missed them. Maybe yhey were swimming in the gravy perhaps ? There was no vegetable served with the meal. Just chicken and lots of gravy. FORGET ABOUT ORDERING THE DUCK FAT POTATOES !!! The tiny amount of potatoes tasted no different if I sprinkled olive oil on them and undercooked them in my airfryer. They were so disappointing for their price.. This place should not charge high prices for sub par food. Not worth the money........and btw... FIX THE ACOUSTICS IN THE PLACE. not that Im ever coming back.... The music was a LOUD AWFUL CHOICE.Gave me a headache. Sit outside its lovely out there in the soft breezes. The service was very good the only saving grace in the place. The waiters work hard and are experienced.
