Zen Modern Asian Bistro

Its not bad, but its not great either. I only come here because its right down the road from me. The sushi is definitely overpriced for the quality, but thats understandable since they arent a strictly sushi restaurant, and is okay for a quick fix. The other asian food here is okay, but their style of fusion just doesnt stand out enough to warrant the slightly increased prices over other asian food places (for Asian fusion, I prefers Tongs Sake House even though its a little further away from me).

It is not a true Asian restaurant. The food was fusion type. We ordered vegetarian satay which was very salty and over cooked. The hot and sour soup was not good ( no flavor ) .The service was horrible .

While riding my bike I pass by the PurpleMint Kitchen. I’m a carnivore but enjoy all foods. My nose couldn’t resist the delicious aromas emanating from their open door so I wheeled in. I meet Tracy, whom is the owner and several of her family and staff. All very friendly. We chat about the recent influx of vegan options many mainstream restaurants are now offering like Burger King’s Impossible Burger. We also talk about the impact of COVID-19 on business and she informs me that they’ve only been open for 5-months. Opening a new vegan restaurant is hard enough and this crises isn’t helping. They’re considering adding meat dishes to their menu to attract more customers, but I’d like to see them stay true to their original vision.I ask for their recommendations with the caveat of whatever I can carry on my bike. They assure me they have sturdy togo containers, then rush to prepare me a curry potato dish with vermicelli noodles. I’m also given a complimentary vegan chocolate chip coffee. Another customer strolls in so I end my pestering and rush home to enjoy my new culinary discovery. In short, everything tasted very fresh and delicious ?I plan to work my way through their menu and I suggest you give them a try even if you’re a carnivore like me.UPDATE: 09/29/2020“Fusion Eats”, formerly “The Purple Mint” has the same owners, but has streamlined their vegetarian options and added more meat options. I believe the “Fusion” references the fusion of different popular Asian dishes as opposed to American Asian fusion.Per my earlier review of the Purple Mint, before they changed their name and menu, the staff is still very personable and service oriented. On this visit, I tried their Curry Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Korean Fries and Corn Cheese for take out.In short, everything toasted fresh and delicious, but the Korean fries were mind blowing yummy ???
Hong Kong Restaurant

I think anyone who posted more than one star is a plant...Ive been coming here for 30-40 years.Sometimes the food was not up to par, but mostly, it was great...as someone else said, I miss the old lady who could be rude at times but you got what you ordered and in a timely manner. I ate there a few nights ago and the waiter who who couldnt get out of his way did not even know the menu, which is small...I looked up their site on google and the menu is the old one and is huge, but not the new one...it doesnt even have pork dishes...it is small and outrageously expensive...I have had no problem eating at the most expensive restaurants in the world, including the White Swan in Guangzhou (Canton to most), the city known in China as having the best food....this place was never the White Swan but the food measured up to it...the waiter knew the spill, We are under new management, but the cooks are the same. This might be true but they are under the new owners and their instructions, which in my opinion, are to go cheap...the hot tea did not come seeping in a pot but a cup with a tea bag...the mustard came in a plastic package and was no more Chinese than I am...it wasnt even hot...I want to feel it in my sinus...the soy sauce came in a pack also and I only got 2 of them, the same as the mustard...It was definitely the worst Chines food I have ever had in my life....from the most rural villages in China where they have seen few if any white people and have no refrigeration to cow town, Clovis New Mexico...this place would fail in Mexicali Mexico (which might not be fair, because when California passed so many anti-Chinese laws when we had no use for them after they built our railroads, many of them migrated south of the border and if you want the old cast iron pot Chinese-Californian cuisine from the old railway workers,, you have to go to Mexicali)...but I digress...The people sitting behind me at Hong Kong waited for over 40 minutes to be served and after one bite they refused to pay the bill and left...the young couple who were in the booth in front of me and who left and paid within moments of being served told me that they were never coming back and obviously did not eat what was put in front of them ...I have seen in some of these critical reviews where the management has offered these displeased people a free meal.....PLEASE DO NOT bother doing that for me, because you couldnt pay me enough to sit in there again unless their is a change in ownership!!
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors

I have been craving Asian cuisine since before Christmas, specifically Chinese food. I finally had a moment to myself and came to Pick Up Stix for lunch yesterday.Carla waited on me and recognized I was trying to figure out the menu and after I ordered something vegetarian, she said that I could order anything on the menu and get tofu instead of meat. She was very good, and very friendly!I was having a rather tough day and almost didnt stop in, had my dog with me and when she suggested I sign up for the rewards program I declined, but I will sign up now that I have free time today! But she made sure I knew it was available to me if I wasnt already a member.I was happy that there was plenty of parking closer to the side or rear entrance than the main one and parked very close to the door.It was very clean inside and including the tables and floors.Food came pretty fast and after I got it home to eat it I was so happy that my craving had been satisfied!I also wanted to make note that they have gluten-free options on the menu which is great!I am happy that there seem to be more vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options now than 10 years ago.I definitely recommend this Pick Up Stix location and if you ever order with Carla, tell her shes doing a great job!

Customer service is ALWAYS excellent…. It's the lack of SOME cooks who either don't understand or don't care of what MILD and/OR NO to ingredient items that were suppose to be substituted AND PAID EXTRA for. 3 times in a row now I wasn't given the proper order substitution and my Kung Po chicken was SPICIER THAN SPICY ?, which couldn't be eaten. We asked for MILD, NO SPICE and was told “No problem”. That was a waste of $13.00+. It was beyond sickening to even try 3 bites. I had a stomachache for 1 hour after those 3 bites. We would of taken it back if it wasn't for the fact we drove back to Temecula from the Murphy Canyon location and got home to try to have our lunches. PLEASE…. I love this location due to the staff's friendly service, but mgmt REALLY NEEDS TO GET SOME OF THE COOKS EDUCATED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT MILD, “NO” and what customer service means. Without this, it puts the poor food quality prep onto those upfront directly dealing with the public! Thank you!

Today I took a visit For lunch, I arrived at 11:30 I can tell I was one of the first customers to arrive the restaurant was empty and I could see there were no tickets so I can tell I was going to get quick service. I ordered Kong pow chicken for myself and spicy House chicken with veggies for my coworker. The inside of the restaurant was close I understand with the whole pandemic, so I asked Maira(cashier)If we can sit outside to eat she answered yes. Awesome. We waited 20 minutes we didn't hear anything so I walk inside see if my order was ready, my order was not ready. 10 minutes later I receive my order my Time lunch was over. So I receive my order In a to go bag, I walk outside sit down on the table to eat. When I open my bag I received two Kong pow chickens, I do not have time to go back and complain simply because we were starving and we had to go back to work. As I was waiting for my order earlier from inside they were customers ordering, two customer that were ordering while I was waiting for my order inside sat behind us in another outside table.About 15 minutes later the Chef personally Walks outside of the restaurant Takes both plates and serve them their plates. So I wonder why didn't they bring us our plate if we were new they were we were eating outside. The other gentlemen were wearing suits, we were in construction clothes. To me that was personal Preference from the employees which I do not appreciate, the chef look back at us twice to see if we noticed, we noticed and he knew. We had to go inside of the restaurant to beg for our food it was wrong order and chef walks out and serves other customers out side to be exact it's not the first time I experience bad service in this restaurant. There been time I've waited 40min for my food, two times I've walked in and immediately cashier says to me rudely if you're gonna order it's gonna take a long time rudely . I've already made a corporate complaint One with guest relationsSecond with general complaint'Office is in Laguna Nigel.
Pho Ha Noi Asian Cuisine
6904 Miramar Rd #215, San Diego, CA 92121, United States
We use Filthy Napkin, theyre great, they deliver and set up lunch for us every Friday. Today they recommended Pho Ha Noi and it was delicious! The Tofu Spring Rolls were large and had mint in them, yummy. The first main dish was Grilled Chicken on a bed of white rice, it had lots of chopped fresh green onions and herbs on top, I dont know what they used on the chicken, but it was delicious and went fast. The second dish was Tofu and Mixed Vegetables. I was a little worried because thats a lot of Tofu, but it was so good with all the great vegetables, it was a hit. Plus, there were (4) delicious sauces that came in LARGE containers, not the little ones that run out before the food is gone. Well definitely order again and again.

Flama Llama
4433 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, United States
Had a delicious lunch at Flama Llama, the Latin America Asian fusion restaurant. We had the tuna crudo, calamari sandwich, and tallarin saltado. Everything tasted really great, especially the tuna crudo. There is an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. The restaurant has a really nice, casual, and cute ambiance and all the servers are friendly and quick. Recommend if you are looking for a unique menu offering.
