Panda Express
2775 Grass Valley Hwy, Auburn, CA 95603, United States
Panda Express: A Decent Bite, Not Quite a FeastPanda Express is a reliable option for quick and casual Chinese-American fare. It hits the spot when youre craving familiar flavors without the fuss of sit-down dining. Heres the breakdown:Pros:Variety: Theres a good selection of dishes to choose from, catering to different preferences. From classics like Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken to vegetarian options like String Bean Chicken and Veggie Delight, theres something for everyone.Freshness: The food generally feels fresh, with vegetables cooked crisp and meats looking appetizing. The open kitchen lets you see the cooking process, which can be reassuring.Speed and convenience: Panda Express excels at quick service. Ordering and receiving your food is usually fast and efficient, making it ideal for lunch breaks or busy evenings.Value: The portion sizes are decent for the price, especially considering the convenience factor. Its a relatively affordable option for a quick meal.Cons:Lack of authenticity: While tasty, the dishes dont quite capture the nuance and complexity of authentic Chinese cuisine. They cater to a more Americanized palate, leaning towards sweet and savory flavors.Inconsistent quality: The quality can vary depending on the location and time of day. Sometimes dishes can be overcooked or lacking in flavor.Limited seating: Depending on the location, seating can be limited, especially during peak hours. This can make it more of a grab-and-go option.Overall:Panda Express is a solid choice for a quick and satisfying Chinese-American meal. Its not the most authentic experience, but it delivers on speed, convenience, and value. Just be prepared for some occasional inconsistency in quality.Recommendation:If youre looking for a fast and familiar taste of Chinese-inspired dishes, Panda Express is a good bet. Just manage your expectations and youll likely have a decent dining experience.
Ninja Sushi
770 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603, United States
Not even worth one star. This place is a disgrace to Japanese cuisine. Period. Full-Stop. Staff is fine; food is disgusting. Ive been eating Japanese food, Sashimi & Sushi since 1973 where I began in Boston. Have primarily lived in Boston, New York City & San Francisco, so yes, I know this cuisine. I certainly didnt expect this to come close to the excellent restaurants Ive been fortunate to frequent, but if McDonalds is a 2 to what a good burger is, this is a -10 to what good Japanese food is. Seaweed salad was dull. Fried soft shell crab was absolutely gross. Think of good tempura and that was the opposite of what comes to your mind, soggy and fishy. Sushi was low grade. The sushi rice was soggy and used to excess. Ill just stop here and take no delight in trashing any establishment, but this should be a wake up call for the owner. Honestly, the only sushi restaurant that is good in the entire area is Kaido in Grass Valley. For superior sushi/sashimi, the to-go place is Sushi In The Raw in Nevada City. Ive tried many in the Placer County area and frankly, Id rather go to jack in the box.
Avatars Indian Bistro
8657 Auburn Folsom Rd, Granite Bay, CA 95746, United States
Amazing Indian food! This is a unique place with a smaller menu of amazingly well prepared dishes.I strongly recommend the avocado Chaat!!The apricot fig salad was incredible!UPDATE or second review:I dont write reviews every time we go somewhere, but this place is so good I need to update the review every so often. So we had not been here in a while just busy and its a little bit out of our way, but the good is really good so we had time to run over here later in the evening about an hour before closing.I cant tell you enough that everything Ive tried is just amazingly delicious. I have been wanting to try to mixed vegetable coconut curry, so today I finally ordered it.Im going to tell you to order the next time you go there its amazing. The coconut curry sauce was delectable Ive never had a sauce quite like this one it was just amazing, the coconut was obvious but not over powering, and the other flavors in the sauce mixed well and complimented each other. I was amazed at the crispness of the vegetables, they were absolutely the perfect texture cooked just enough, but still crunchy. I will tell you no matter what you order it will be delicious, but do yourself a favor and try this mixed vegetable coconut curry!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Benjis Woodfire Pizza in Citrus Heights, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left my taste buds dancing! From the moment I walked in, the friendly and upbeat vibe set the stage for a fantastic evening.First and foremost, I have to give a shoutout to the incredible manager, Andrey, who ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly made a difference. And lets not forget about Rubik, our fantastic waiter, whose friendly demeanor and efficient service added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. Now, lets talk about the star of the show—the woodfire pizza. Oh, my goodness! I can confidently say that this is the best woodfire pizza I have ever had. The crust is a work of art, made fresh in the store, and its unlike anything Ive tasted before. Its soft, fluffy, and reminiscent of an Indian paratha, which adds a unique twist to the traditional pizza experience. The wood fire imparts a slightly burnt taste that elevates the flavor profile to new heights. I opted for the garden veggie on white sauce, and every bite was a revelation. The white sauce, rich, creamy, and utterly delicious, paired perfectly with the fresh and juicy veggie toppings. The tomatoes, in particular, were a standout, bursting with flavor. What truly sets Benjis apart is the unmistakable homecooked feel in every element of their pizza. Its evident that the ingredients are carefully selected and prepared with love, creating an unforgettable culinary experience.I wholeheartedly recommend Benjis Woodfire Pizza to everyone seeking not just a meal, but a journey into pizza perfection. Whether youre a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Benjis for a slice of paradise and have the best time of your life. Cheers to Andrey, Rubik, and the entire team for creating such a delightful haven for pizza enthusiasts!

Panchito Mexican Restaurant
7683 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This gonna be my new go-to I think. Back in the day, I thought Betos on El Camino was the sheet. Then the old Dairy Queen on Auburn Blvd turned into a Betos and I felt blessed (live close). Then it just started to go downhill. More expensive, and less quantity (quality consistent. Then I started going to that place qcross from the former Sylvan Middle school (Gilbertos), which, basically has the same menu. But after being open awhile, your basic bc burrito started feeling more like a pinner as the price just kept going up. They still got a lock on the sour cream-based salsa though (no match...yet, besides Betos). Anyways, Panchitos has a quality bc burrito, as in home made beans and tortilla like the ones on the street, for less money and is delish.places. Otherplaces are hitting like $7,$8 or even $9 which seems really high. I like the way they make the rice (my wife not so much), but shes hard to please, Asian (rice eater, lol), but loves the 3 street taco plate (I gotta admit, it was good, were not talking about three taquitos from a fryer; that meet was juicy, seasoned and flavorful). Nicer in-dining, with good A/C and the staff has been insanely friendly the three times Ive been in there. I like taking my family there. Its chill. Staff is chatty and smiley,, it almost feels like family, Welcoming. Looking forward to exploring the menu.
Tea It
8516 Auburn Blvd suite a, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
After driving around for about an hour because the two bubble tea places we tried to visit were closed early for some reason, we ended up here at Tea It!We ordered the passion fruit slushie with boba, and the 50/50 fruit freeze which had mango freeze on top, vanilla ice cream in the middle, and pineapple freeze at the bottom. I really loved the 50/50 freeze the most! The fruit freezes were super refreshing, and the flavors were really bold and it tasted a lot like real fruit, just in an ice form! Ive heard that Gunthers ice cream was really popular, and there happened to be Gunthers vanilla ice cream in the freeze as well. My first impression of the ice cream was pretty good. It was very creamy, but I couldnt really taste the vanilla in the ice cream. It did pair very well with the two different freezes and made a perfect and refreshing, creamy, rich bite! However, I wasnt a huge fan of my drink because I really wasnt into the bits of passion fruit seeds, and they are really crunchy and slightly sour. The boba was also slightly undercooked, and some of the boba were really hard, but some were perfectly fine. The slush itself was very tasty and refreshing though!Overall, this place was really nice, and Im just happy they were open because we drove an hour to find a place that was open! Anyways, I loved the interior, and the staff were very nice, and the food was pretty good!
Placer Farmers Market
150 Auburn Folsom Rd, Auburn, CA 95603, United States
I feel as though this farmers market has lost its vibe a bit. It used to feel like a special place to go on a Saturday morning with a musician playing, the smell of wood-fired pizza wafting on the air, mostly small vendors who were proud of their offerings charging a bit higher prices than normal, with a small-town market feel. But this time it seemed more commercialized, less local, with a few big vendors with long lines to get served, charging outrageous prices. There was not a single cup of coffee to be had except one with oat milk as the creamer which I personally dont prefer, though Im glad they offer it for those who do. There wasnt any place that I could see even selling a bottle of water and the prepared food offerings were lackluster. Im sure they took a big hit because of Covid, and are not really wanting people to linger, but it just doesnt feel like a welcoming, fun place any more. And the prices were truly outrageous to me. I probably wont be going back any time soon and that makes me sad.
