Absolutely fantastic restaurant opened by a great chef from the Bay Area who lives and works here daily. And takes care of customers, kitchen and overall mood. Finally someone with good heart and brains opens a decent Asian restaurant in Sacramento. So hard to find such a good food and outstanding decor with classic music in the background. Highly recommend this family business to anyone who appreciates the art of food and its delivery. Bravo

Ph ABC
7811 Greenback Ln, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
There is a decades-old myth about Asian restaurants in America serving dogs and cats.It pains me to write this, but something has to be said, as Pho ABC was once a wonderful business serving a very tasty bowl of Pho.Whether an ownership change, management change, or just plain lack of no longer caring about their business or customers, Pho ABC has declined to the point of irrelevance.Unfortunately for Pho ABC, there is so much competition in Citrus Heights and the surrounding area for a good bowl of Pho that they need to step up their game. Even prior to the pandemic, there have been errors in consistency (taste, portion sizes, etc.), staffing (leave the rude older staff in the back to cook!), and especially cleanliness (please, use your bathroom at home and save the trip to theirs otherwise you may not eat the food!).If Pho ABC does not make changes, and quickly, more one-star reviews will be populating the review sites from patrons and their business may be relegated to a former business. But today, this One Star rating comes because of a serious issue with the staff and Pho ABCs policy...They DENY access to Service Dogs.Seriously, I kid you not.A sign on the door states No Animals, yet clearly has a disclaimer of except service animals. The sign even has a graphic of a service dog.I enter Pho ABC on an extremely cold Sunday afternoon (December 18th) with my wife and Service Dog (whos in a vest labeled service animal, though this is not a requirement under Federal ADA laws). We are told you cant bring a dog in here and I explain she is a service animal. A very confused look from the hostess/waitress who then tells us we can only sit in the small area where food delivery people are waiting... a small cramped table against a dirty window.I explain we would like to sit in the actual restaurant, away from a window, and not in the waiting area as there is too much comotion. She then converses with a man behind the counter and repeatedly points to us and our service dog. She finally says I ask if okay for you to sit and proceeds to ask another patron if we can bring our dog into the restaurant. Im thinking, WTH? The restaurant is half-empty restaurant and there are plenty of available tables. I once again explain I do not want to be seated next to a cold window (and leave out the part that these front windows are filthy too). She just stands there and points to the window table. At this point, it is not worth spending my hard-earned money at Pho ABC so I turn around and walk out. No verbal interaction. No scene. No attempt to correct them as to what ADA laws state... I just leave as its not worth educating them when they clearly do not care to serve all patrons. So, myth busted... they do not serve dog!

Sushi Star
7777 Sunrise Blvd #2000, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This was the most disappointing sushi restaurant and dining experience Ive had in Sacramento. For context, there were 4 of us, my wife and two children. My wife is a career bartender/server/trainer at a steakhouse, so were super chill and easy with servers and restaurants. We get it, bad nights happen. But they can be corrected by a little bit of hospitality and the eventual arrival of good food. There will be none of that here. For the tl;dr - Drive a mile up the street to Bonsai Sushi, youll get better service, MUCH larger portions, and better food. The whole experience started with red flags. The restaurant was full so we sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef didnt acknowledge us, there was none of the usual hospitality one would expect for sitting at the bar. The servers were very invested in moving my family from the bar to the table, which is fine. Mind you, we eat out at sushi a lot, sitting at the bar is no big deal... but fine, all good.We ordered our appetizers, food, and drinks. Some appetizers arrived, some didnt. Pretty sure one of them got shipped to another table in the chaos. The other tables order got to us like 20-30 minutes later. After the first touch, the servers wouldnt make eye contact with me. All I wanted was to order a second beer, and it wasnt like I was slamming them down. Eventually I was able to eye one into coming over and I ordered another beer, at this point I also reminded them of the missing apps. That was legit like 45+ minutes later. The restaurant was churning out to go orders while we sat waiting, along with other the customers. (Recommendation: Quote longer to-go times and take care of the house first.)Slightly over an hour after ordering (for SUSHI!) our food arrived. The hand roll wasnt a cone, looked nothing like the picture, it was a small roll in crispy seaweed like you would buy at the store, not soft, and it was a roll! A tiny roll! Like the size of your finger and thumb together. It was SMALL! Which was a theme for the night. As our sushi rolls started arriving they too were small, super tiny. Yet the prices were full on Mikuni prices. And by small I mean between the size of a quarter and a half dollar. So small that one of my 11-13 year old girls could have polished one alone and still been hungry. My wife opted to not eat so the kids could get enough food. (and I didnt clue in until after cuz I too was ravenous...dont judge me!) None of the rolls looked like the pictures. The food was alright but the wait, the portion size, the price, the service, and the experience... It was terrible~ We will never go back.Look, 1.5 miles (5 min) up Sunrise is a place called Bonsai Sushi. Its amazing. The portions are the same price but like 3x the size. The food is delicious. The servers are friendly and take care of you. Go there. Skip this place.

Panda Express

How did they get plastic bag in the white rice? See pics! Went in today at around 5pm. Place was busy with everyone getting take out. People were angry, felt sorry for the staff but there were like 15 people behind the counter so... Food was bad, order was wrong and to top it off, there was plastic bag in my white steamed rice. Ive been in the F&B industry for over 30 years. I wouldnt be as surprised to see clear plastic in the white rice, but the cut out from a bulk of white plastic to go bags? How did you guys pull this one off? Beef and Broccoli was horrid, they gave me the end of the last meat (obviously) and since they were slammed threw new raw broccoli in at the switch out. If I was expecting raw broccoli that would be fine but thats not what I ordered. The beef was mostly un- chewable with tons of gristle and yes it was overcooked from being the last of the barrel. Worried that the chicken was raw. The steamed rice was good except for the plastic part. Hope I didnt eat some already, seriously! I only caught it because I was so attentive at how bad it all was. This is from a large bulk of commercial plastic bags, so no I did not add this on my own! Oh first off my side of chow main for the kid was some spicy peanut dish. At least my wife got to eat. Never again. I mean, the only way to win at these places is to check everything with a fine tooth comb at the location before leaving and preferably paying.. Lets face it. Its fast junk food posed as healthier food. Just get a steamer, save your money and your heath, eat at home. The kids at the counter were nice.

Teriyaki To Go

Not a fan of the changes new ownership has made. Cutting quantity and quality at every corner:- Smaller bowls. Now 15 oz, down from 24 oz. Same size as a panda bowl from Panda Express. Way less rice and meat. The new black plastic bowls also do not retain heat as well as the old styrofoam ones so now when you pop it open it's just regular warm instead of piping hot.- Way less sauce. They limit you at 2-2.5 scoops. Used to get 4-5 every time with the old couple no problem. Sauce is also now served on the side, in a cup that's about 1-1.5 scoops tops. They no longer ask how many scoops you want. All good though, because…- Sauce has been watered down significantly. So you're not going to want more than 2 scoops anyway lol.- Default tip is now set to 15% on the new payment system, which is pretty aggressive considering the above changes. Old owners didn't even have a tip prompt lol. I'd happily tip if none of the above changes were made.- Grillmaster is still the same lady so at least the bbq quality is still the same ??All in all, I get it, the prices of ingredients and goods have skyrocketed everywhere, but the old owners had already increased their prices multiple times over the past two years. And downsized from 32 oz bowls to 24 oz. Always had customers. I highly doubt they were doing that poorly. These changes just seem like the new owners attempt to squeeze every ounce of profit out of the place, rather than a survival move. Unfortunately it is at the expense of maintaining repeat customers. Bye!“Look at how they massacred my boy…”

Benjis Woodfire Pizza

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Benjis Woodfire Pizza in Citrus Heights, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left my taste buds dancing! From the moment I walked in, the friendly and upbeat vibe set the stage for a fantastic evening.First and foremost, I have to give a shoutout to the incredible manager, Andrey, who ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly made a difference. And lets not forget about Rubik, our fantastic waiter, whose friendly demeanor and efficient service added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. Now, lets talk about the star of the show—the woodfire pizza. Oh, my goodness! I can confidently say that this is the best woodfire pizza I have ever had. The crust is a work of art, made fresh in the store, and its unlike anything Ive tasted before. Its soft, fluffy, and reminiscent of an Indian paratha, which adds a unique twist to the traditional pizza experience. The wood fire imparts a slightly burnt taste that elevates the flavor profile to new heights. I opted for the garden veggie on white sauce, and every bite was a revelation. The white sauce, rich, creamy, and utterly delicious, paired perfectly with the fresh and juicy veggie toppings. The tomatoes, in particular, were a standout, bursting with flavor. What truly sets Benjis apart is the unmistakable homecooked feel in every element of their pizza. Its evident that the ingredients are carefully selected and prepared with love, creating an unforgettable culinary experience.I wholeheartedly recommend Benjis Woodfire Pizza to everyone seeking not just a meal, but a journey into pizza perfection. Whether youre a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Benjis for a slice of paradise and have the best time of your life. Cheers to Andrey, Rubik, and the entire team for creating such a delightful haven for pizza enthusiasts!

Panchito Mexican Restaurant
7683 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This gonna be my new go-to I think. Back in the day, I thought Betos on El Camino was the sheet. Then the old Dairy Queen on Auburn Blvd turned into a Betos and I felt blessed (live close). Then it just started to go downhill. More expensive, and less quantity (quality consistent. Then I started going to that place qcross from the former Sylvan Middle school (Gilbertos), which, basically has the same menu. But after being open awhile, your basic bc burrito started feeling more like a pinner as the price just kept going up. They still got a lock on the sour cream-based salsa though (no match...yet, besides Betos). Anyways, Panchitos has a quality bc burrito, as in home made beans and tortilla like the ones on the street, for less money and is delish.places. Otherplaces are hitting like $7,$8 or even $9 which seems really high. I like the way they make the rice (my wife not so much), but shes hard to please, Asian (rice eater, lol), but loves the 3 street taco plate (I gotta admit, it was good, were not talking about three taquitos from a fryer; that meet was juicy, seasoned and flavorful). Nicer in-dining, with good A/C and the staff has been insanely friendly the three times Ive been in there. I like taking my family there. Its chill. Staff is chatty and smiley,, it almost feels like family, Welcoming. Looking forward to exploring the menu.

I found my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant… I have tried Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area and all over sac/placer county.. this is hands down the best!! They have an Asian fusion taste with their sauces not compromising the Vietnamese traditional tastes. Their chicken is soft and all their veggies are so fresh. This is the best kept restaurant, the best Vietnamese restaurant. Thank you for the great food and service

Hibachi Buffet, Sushi & Grill
5623 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This place is a really basic buffet. I paid less than 40 dollars for both my husband and myself to enjoy the lunch buffet meal. Their food was very plain, and some things didnt really have a lot of flavor.I showed up to specifically get coconut/honey walnut shrimp, which ended up tasting AMAZING, as well as to see what they offered sushi wise. However, I only really got the ebi from the sushi bar. The one thing I really liked, was that their wasabi is actually really hot. Sometimes, I can not find one that fits the heat level I am looking for to dip my fish in. Hubby said they had practically most of the same rolls, he specifically liked the tempura roll and said it was crunchylike it should be. He also said the Mongolian chicken was one of his favorite things from the place. The hibachi grill was decent, but the chef/cook who made my noodles actually mixed mine with another persons meal. So, if you have allergies, I would not recommend eating from that specific area at all. Also, they have a full dessert section with lost of sweets and fruits. No soft serve ice cream machine, its just single cup servings of ice cream or sherbet.I ended up throwing EVERYTHING up after we left.. So I wasnt sure if it was the quality of the food or my pregnancy. However, I havent been back since, but I would like to..
