Xin Cho Eatery
3545 Del Mar Heights Rd Suite C-5, San Diego, CA 92130, United States
We were traveling to Anaheim from San Diego, and my 4yo son really wanted vermicelli noodles with “nuoc mam”. My husband did a quick google search and found this new place and decided to give it a try. I had the vermicelli and grilled chicken bowl and chicken eggrolls; my husband had the pho tai; and my toddler had the vermicelli noodles with fried tofu (and his nuoc mam).Wow! Being a very picky Vietnamese foodie, I was super impressed by this place! The food was quick, everything was delicious, and we left with full bellies.Normally, the only tasty eggrolls for me are the traditional pork ones that my mom used to make for us when we were growing up. However, their chicken eggrolls were absolutely scrumptious! I was able to snatch a few fried tofu from my hangry toddler, and they were perfectly crispy on the outside, and hot and soft on the inside, just perfect little bites. My husband loves pho tai, and he finished his bowl in record time. My chicken vermicelli bowl was also great! If you're looking for a new Vietnamese place to try, definitely give these folks a visit. You won't regret it, and your bellies will thank you!* Also, the food was so yummy that we forgot to take picture before it was too late haha

Mongkut Thai Restaurant
212 Avenida Del Mar, San Clemente, CA 92672, United States
This is one of my favorite places to have Thai food in Orange County. Not only has one of the most authentic Asian dishes, but one of the best places to dine in, or to carry out. For years I have come and go, as I moved from San Clemente, but whenever I visit, this is the perfect spot to visit. They have a wide range of delicious dishes, made with passion and care. In this case I order a couple of appetizers, a rice dish, and three more entrees, and all of them were delicious, also their Thai iced tea, is to die forIf you’re ever down in San Clemente California and looking for an authentic Thai restaurant don’t hesitate to visit this jewel on the coast. It’s a wonderful spot, you can check the beach after a great lunch here. You will not regret your visit. Until then I hope to return soon to enjoy my favorite place. Love my Thai food, and beautiful San Clemente ! :)

Sushiya Express
955 Embarcadero del Mar E, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
Came with high expectations, left disappointed and dissatisfied.Had a bad experience at the restaurant for a first time. Not very inviting.Ordered a California roll and plain udon soup which was mostly covered in oil.The California rolls fell apart themselves and the soup wasn’t nice. It’s not a cheap place compared to other options around. Spent around 22$ for these two dishes.I even found a piece of aluminum or whatsoever inside my miso soup. The place seems to offer different Asian dishes but none of them being good enough.Quality of food: 3/10Atmosphere: 4/10Recommend(?) NoPrice: $$

Le Bambou
2634 Del Mar Heights Rd, Del Mar, CA 92014, United States
I wouldnt classify Le Bambou as super-authentic, but it offers a great mix of classic dishes (like clay pot fish, fruit for dessert) and homey fair in a way thats really approachable for anyone. We had the clay pot rice, which was excellent, the ground shrimp springroll appetizer, lychee, and vietnamese coffee. We also had another dish but Im pretty sure it wasnt what I ordered since it was supposed to come in a spicy tomato sauce and seemed more like a non spicy tamarind, but it was still quite good even if Im not sure what it was on the menu. The ambiance gets a 5/5 easily. Its laidback and quiet, with candles and low lighting. The goal was to find someplace we could have a quiet, slow date night with a nice glass of wine and this absolutely hit the spot. Service was awesome and it was a really comfortable experience.

PokeCeviche
901 Embarcadero del Mar #102, Isla Vista, CA 93117, United States
I am writing because I would like to complain about a staff member at the ceviche poke shop in Isla Vista, Goleta CA. Today, February 2, 2023 around 2pm. I ordered a ceviche poke using a groupon coupon. I was treated horribly by an older white man around his 50s, who claimed to be the store manager, because I was using a groupon coupon. He told me that my voucher was invalid. However, he told me that other staff members will accept it. I dont get it. I bought this coupon that says a miso soup, a musubi and a poke bowl. And he told me that I could only get one thing but then he told me that only for today he is going to validate my voucher. His service was poor and he was not filling the scoops with food and he also told me that there were no musubi takis, he just didnt want to give it to me. Also, I asked for half salad and half rice and he said I can only make two scoops of rice or salad. Also, he told me that he had the right to tell me that he would not validate my voucher because he is the manager. This man shouldnt be working there, he has anger issues. I was so scared of him and he made me feel horrible

Poki Bowl Aptos
98 Rancho Del Mar, Aptos, CA 95003, United States
Its okay but not close to Poke One N Half. The portions are a little small. The scoops are tiny. The staff were nice but very slow and inefficient. My main complaint with this place is that they are yet another business taking advantage of the whole covid thing. They still dont allow indoor dining and their bathroom is temporarily out of service I asked a worker how long it has been temporarily out of service and they said for 2 years, since the beginning of the pandemic. We need to demand businesses stop doing this or it will never end.On a positive note they do not charge more for avacado but they do for edamame? Thats weird, edamame is cheap and avacado is gold.Open your bathroom! Open the dining room!

Spotlight Groove Productions
1811 S Del Mar Ave, San Gabriel, CA 91776, United States
Jonsen was friendly, flexible, responsive and willing to meet with us multiple times. We had to postpone our wedding a year due to COVID-19 but that did not change our deposit or add any charges. Our wedding package included a DJ, a bilingual Emcee, audio sound and microphone system, dance party lights, and liability insurance. It was super important for my fiancé and I to have a bilingual Emcee since we were going to have a number of guests coming from overseas that spoke predominantly Cantonese. Due to COVID, we had to change our plans and they were able to adjust how much of our reception would be in English and how much would be in Cantonese (we chose 70% English and 30% Cantonese). Howard was great as an English and Cantonese speaking Emcee! He was able to smoothly switch back and forth well. He was charismatic and even checked in with us throughout the reception. Many of our Cantonese speaking guests were impressed and asked where we found him.Jonsen was able to work with us on our music choices for the entire day. Leading up to our wedding day, we were provided a link to choose songs for our reception. He also met with us to go over our song choices for the ceremony through the reception, and Jonsen was able to obtain all the versions we wanted of each song which meant a lot to us. Also, we were able to customize our package by adding wall uplights, a pin spotlight for our cake, and a photo booth. When we moved our ceremony and reception outdoors due to safety reasons, we were able to adjust the lighting part of our package without any issues. Our reception lighting really looked great thanks to Jonsen. For the photobooth, we were able to choose our template for printed photos and had props that were customized to our interests. The day after our wedding, we received a link to our photobooth photos. Such a quick turnaround time!Overall, we are so glad we chose Spotlight Groove. The emcee, DJ, music, audio, lighting, and photobooth were exactly what we wanted and needed. It was such a pleasure to have Jonsen and Howard there with us on our wedding day!

MARKET Restaurant Bar
3702 Via De La Valle, Del Mar, CA 92014, United States
The best restaurant in LA/SD in terms of location, food quality, service, bread, menu variety wine list, and value. People say this place is super expensive when appetizers are $13-18 and mains vary $26-50 with most around $34-38. Appropriate prices should be 40s-60s. Located 5 Minutes off the highway and next to RSF, with $5 valet parking the location is supreme. The food here truly is UNDER priced, each dish envelops your pallet with exquisite, distinct flavors coupled with excellent portion size. The menu is always evolving and the master chef employs an excellent job of creating seasonal dishes. Anyone who dines in LA(Mastros, Chianina, BOA, TAO, 71&Above etc) or fine restaurants abroad will deeply appreciate the price/quality here. After eating at the top restaurants(Michelin star) in England, Paris, and (arguably the best in) Rome I would only eat at Aroma in Rome over the Market(and it is 1.5-3X as expensive). And thats because Im dining while overlooking the Coliseum.Which brings me to the view, which you do give up, however the interior and atmosphere is pleasant and trendy yet classical at the same time. It has a youth element to it but feels like old money simultaneously. Patrons young and old alike dine- alleviating the lack of vibrance that just having 70+ olds occupying a restaurant brings, which occurs frequently in and near The Ranch. The Homemade corn rolls are the best, try them with a touch of butter and a squeeze of lemon. The main reason I come here are for them, the blue cheese soufflé, the honey goat cheese salad, and their soups. Amazing soups. Incredibly creative entrée menus. I had their Asian chicken dish the other day and it was better than the Asian chicken I had in Thailand.Unless youre keen on a steakhouse, sushi experience or requiring a view; there really is no reason to eat at any other place in SD. When I am visiting my parents here I aim to go 2-3 times per week. I wish I lived in SD so I could eat here twice per week.If you are visiting or have not attended, this is the one place to eat in San Diego and really all of SoCal.
