Server was nice. They charge for hot tea refills unlike other Asian restaurants. I didnt feel like I should pay an additional $3 for hot water that doesnt stay warm in the tea pot. Sunomono was not authentic - largely sliced cucumber served with a bottled dressing. This was not an authentic Japanese culture experience that I was expecting.

Edit: Knocked off two stars. First one was because they changed up the order pickup and created a great deal of confusion with people thinking they had to wait in line to get their online orders when in fact they call your name. No masks on anyone waiting. Second star dropped is they actually doubled many of the prices once the county reopened. Theyre now the most expensive chinese restaurant in town. Back to Fortunat Garden!Well, I saw some bad reviews here and on yelp, but wanting some chinese and not many places offering take out in my area, I figured Id give them a shot, especially for their $20 family meal deal, which is a spectacular bargain. Other reviewers said the food was bland or dried out or they received very little. When I went in to get my online order (love touchless transactions during the CV!) their steam trays were full of fresh looking food. My order was 100% correct (while every other fast food place Ive been to lately screwed my order up...looking at you mcdonalds, taco bell and jack in the box), it was ready ahead of time, and while Ive only eaten a few of the items (dynamite shrimp and the greens side dish), I found them fresh, delicious and Im looking forward to a few more easy meals in the next few days. My guess is the bad reviews came from getting to the restaurant in between lunch and dinner hours or not long before closing. No, no outfit like this is going to make $300 worth of food at 8:00 at night or 3 in the afternoon. Its not cooked to order.I havent eaten at Panda in a while, as there werent any nearby. This one is new and close by. In case anyone is wondering about the sizes, I got 5 large and one small. The small is very small, about the size of a baseball. The large is enough to fill a normal person. A small and a little side like rice or noodles would also make a good meal.Ill definitely go back, especially while I can buy about an 8lb sack of food for $20. Theyre next to mechanics bank and have an entry both in front on the main road and also around behind. They dont show up yet on google street view (restaurant was an empty storefront in the one as of this writing), so if you want to avoid the nutty parking/drivers on town center drive, you can take a right at mechanics bank, a left into the parking lot behind and there is plenty of unused parking back there. Theyre very conservative in the time your order will be ready when ordered online, probably havent adjusted their traffic calculations to the covid lack of customers yet. The order said itd be ready at 2:18, I got there early so I could make sure which entrance to use at 2:05 and my order was hot and ready.

The good is good, but twice now we have been given rolls we didn't order. The first time I went back, they argued that it was what we ordered. I didn't have the menu in front of me and just took what we got. Tasted good, so fine.Tonight we ordered 4 rolls. One was the Dragon roll. On the menu it claims to have deep fried shrimp and spicy tuna, and does not state avocado. The roll we received was deep fried shrimp and imitation crab and had avocado. I didn't want to drive back so just ate it. It was fine, just not what I paid for. I specifically chose a roll that did not have crab because I don't love the imitation garbage. It's a cheap filler and that is annoying when you pay $17 for a roll.Overall, we will return. It's not a terrible option for living in the neighborhood, but I will definitely check our orders before leaving in the future so I can be sure we receive what we pay for.

Aji Japanese Bistro

I love that we stumbled into this place, without reservations, and it was surprisingly good! We were on our way to Red Hawk Casino and wanted to grab dinner on the way because I dont like the food at Red Hawk. Aji Japanese Bistro is near Higway 50 situated in the El Dorado Hills Town Center. It was Saturday night and the place was busy with great weekend vibes. We were lucky that a table had just left and we were seated shortly. The menu is an interesting mix of Japanese fusions and street foods. Since this was our first time, we stick with the basic. We got two rolls: Angry Tuna Maki - spicy tuna, maguro, cucumber, siracha and togarashi and Rainbow Maki - tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, crab mix, hamachi, sake, ebi, and maguro. Hmm....I noticed most of the rolls had tuna in it. They were both good and fresh, but not memorable. The 7 pc sashimi (Chefs choice) was fresh and good size but lacking presentation. It was 7 pieces of fish on a plain white plate. It was odd! We end the dinner with the best dish of the evening - Tonkotsu Ramen! The broth was flavorsome and filled with all the good toppings like tempura shrimp, char siu, perfectly cooked egg, etc. I would come back just for the ramen. Yeah, it was that good! The restaurant had a nice wide bar. Small booth lined one wall. Big outdoor area with patio heaters. This place is much bigger than I expect.Excellent service! It was a busy night and understandably the kitchen is a backed up. Our server checked on us a few times, informed us about the delay and offered her apologies.

I dropped in real quick to grab some beers to-go since Ive always liked the beers Ive had in the past by them. They had some live music and chill vibe outside. Only reason I dont give it 5 stars is the person working the front didnt know anything about their beers which was strange. I asked to recommend a hazy or a blonde and they suggested a DIPA. I guess its my fault for not double checking the cans they picked out but Im not a fan of Dipas and when I got home I was disappointed I spent twenty something on 4 cans of beers I dont like. Im not judging the beer cause Im sure its great for those who love that style just annoyed that the knowledge of the beer was that far off. Oh well maybe it was their first week or something. I will be back for sure and hangout when I have more time to spend.

Umi Sushi
1121 White Rock Rd #105, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762, United States
The best sushi joint in this area, and for some reason there are several clustered around here. Their chefs dont mess around when it comes to sushi. Hostess are always nice. Price is perfect and fair. The only downside is that they are in a weird location thatmight affect the amount of customers they get, but its a plus if you dont like waiting. I recommend supporting this restaurant if youre looking for some place to grab a great asian meal, some sushi, beer, or catch the game on TV. They also have a website to place orders in advance for quick pickup.

Went to Peets coffee. Peets are the best. My daughter and I were coming up the hill, decided on coffee, and hands down, we said Peets!! The parking lot is very tight!! Who Engineered that?? If youre going to make the spaces so tight, then angle your lines! Getting in and out is crazy ?

(Ive tried a lot of different places and theirs is by far the best!) Hot and sour soup is the perfect amount of spice and sour and chow mein is amazing! The employees are so friendly and kind. Never liked another asian restaurant more.

While this is my 1st review 10/19 for this location, I have been to this fast-casual (walk up counter order), quality food restautant a half dozen times over the last handful of years (as well as their mid-town location):-- Their comfort-type, quality, ready made deli case foods (hot, cold, & desserts) is a consistent pleaser in taste, appearance, and speed of coming from case to table. They also offer burgers, pizzas, salads that are fresh made to order.-- A delectable array of dessert options (slices of cake, pastries, cookies) fill two entire display cases, plus other wrapped/candy desserts on top. A sweet-tooths heaven must stop.-- A boastful selection of red/white wines, and beer.-- Spacious inside eating area with lots of tables (napkins & metal utensils on every table). Decent sized outdoor seating starts in front, and wraps around right side of this corner business.-- While handicap parking is front right of business, be prepared to walk distance to front door--due to parking on right, but ramp access far left of front doors takes one even further away from front door as it zig-zags.-- Odd, shared building restroom around back of building shared by all retail tenants customers. Have not yet been back there.

I got stranded in El Dorado Hills,10/10 walked into the pharmacy and asked about how I could get back to Sacramento, when they heard I was walking back they showed concern. Then someone gave me a free ride back to Sacramento provided by Lyft/Uber.The driver calmed my sadness by talking life.As I sat in the vehicle looking at the scenic sites, being a city boy,I was wowed. And sank deep into a smile and wowed because of a kind couple sincerity and wanting to help their fellow man. As strange as I looked,it didnt matter this man was heart broken he couldnt help me!!!He provided a way for me to get home to my mom, safely. Thank you to the couple and Lyft/uber.also the driver.life is how you make it,whether you fell your life is spelled;life or lyfe. You should feel the love surrounded you and thats how I felt in El Dorado Hills.Sincerely, sincereJamilq
