Bamboo House Restaurant

I love the fact that this restaurant looks Asian inside. They have a good combination lunch menu for around $11
Panda Express

The one star is for the Asian face short haired lady in black shirt. I guess shes supervisor or manager. I asked for a kids meal, she told me only 4 shrimps would be given. I said it was ok but she kept convincing me getting normal combo. Ok, i get it. So I switched shrimp to veggie mix and asked her just add another entree shrimp. And again she kept saying its not worth it cos its only 7 shrimps would be given. Im not first time shopper dont need your suggestions, which actually annoyed me a lot cos her unclear speaking and poor communication skill. Just give me one kids meal and one walnut shrimp entree. Thats it! She still didnt follow and blah blah blah....until i asked her for just a kids meal no more shrimp. She was very unhappy and went in a corner nobody could see her to get the shrimps out from the box then came out to scooped the veggie mix. After i paid by my card, i found out i was overcharged 1.95 by one extra item which was spring roll. I never like nor ordered spring roll in my whole life here. I told cashier right away and she was confused too. She asked for the asian lady to come fix it, and the asian lady took my card away to her office for a while, then came back and told me she refunded me already. I asked her how? Where is receipt? She said i need trust her and no receipt for that. And she said its only 2 dollars anyway with a very disgusting fake smile! No apology at all. shes the worst manager Ive ever seen in Panda Express! I checked my bank no refund so far so I posted here. And i doubt if she did anything wrong on my credit card too as she kept it for quite a while in her secret spot! Dont let her serve you at any cost or you better watch out for the bill!Forgot to mention there was only one customer ahead of me, but both of us kept waiting for 10 mins cos no one came up to us at a not busy time. Bad management!

Boiling Pho
3440 Del Lago Blvd Suite H, Escondido, CA 92029, United States
I pass by this place occasionally after I drop my kids off at my parents place. You can see the Boiling Pho sign right off the 15s freeway. And also by word of mouth, my bro mentioned he had tried this place. So, since my family was in town shopping at North County we decided to come and try it out for dinner. It was our first time and we were welcomed by Johnny. He had directed us that we order first and then we can take a seat. The menu was easy to follow and ordering was easy. With 2 kids under 2 we loved how it wasnt busy dining in. But we did notice, that orders were going out via grub hub and take out.We started off with the A1 Egg rolls, which by far is one of the best Ive had. Fresh right off the fryer and you get 4 nice sized pieces. My wife ordered the P1 Pho (rare steak, flank, well done steak, meatballs) and I had the P2 Pho (rare steak and meatballs). We both loved the broth. Nice and savory flavor. and my wife loved how the noodles were cooked perfectly and not soggy.By far one of the best Pho restaurants in North County and I highly recommend if youre in the area to come try it out.
Sushi Yama
500 N Escondido Blvd #2628, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
FIRST TIME EATER!Went on a work lunch with 2 other amazing ladies to Sushi Yama today - first time ever going here even though its literally walking distance from my office. However I will TOTALLY be back.We had amazing service from Amber. She was super attentive and nice, quick, efficient and catered to any request we had.The food was AMAZING! I eat pretty healthy and so I am always aware that I could easily eat 15 sushi rolls and be stoked about it but I need to be strategic.Their menu is online and was available for me to check out prior to arriving. I knew exactly what I wanted and it came out even better than I anticipated.I am not sure why I havent been there before but it will definitely be a return. It was so delicious I literally just asked my husband if he wanted to go tonight on a date night!5 out of 5 would definitely recommend!- Masks to and from tables- Casual environment- Will be an epic summer eatery as they keep it really cold in their due to food that they serve (I recommend a jacket if you run cold)- No outside smokers air comes in- Split tab friendly- Great service- Very reasonably priced- Indoor and patio seating- Attached parking lot (its across the street from City Halls larger lot)
Panda Express
1485 E Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92027, United States
This location is very convenient for late night dining on a Sunday when most things in Escondido close early on Sunday, so its great knowing that you can grab a bite at late night hours.I have not been to this particular Panda Express location since October of last year, and this past Sunday was the first since then.I was hoping that the service and quality of the food would have been improved, however I am disappointed to say the food and service was worst than before. The rice was very soggy and sticking together like glue, so the freshness is highly in question and the chowmein was void of any flavor. And the spring rolls were very soggy as well, they tasted as if they had been sitting out for hours. The only fresh item with my meal was the pre-packed fortune cookie. In regards to service, I walked into the restaurant and waited more than 5 minutes to be greeted by a cashier as there 3 people standing around chit-chatting, sure no one else was in line but the level of attentiveness and lack of focus on potential customers was very poor.I caution management to remind the associates the importance of keeping freshly stocked items out and remind the associates that 45 minutes until closing does not mean that you are closed for the night.
Panda Express
415 W Felicita Ave, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
My friend and I went to this Panda Express location for a late night meal. The store was supposed to close at 9:30 but we arrived at 9, so there was still plenty of time. Once we arrived, we immediately noticed they were taking back everything already and the rest of the cooks were relaxing, either waiting to close for good or for something to come up. My friend goes to order his plate and he asks for an entree that isn't available, so the woman in front tries to convince my friend to get something that's already out to order. When he declines her offer and asks for what he wants, immediately one of the cooks gives us a disgusting look, like he was angry. They proceed to make my friends food and a couple more customers come in. Again, the woman up at front wasn't disrespectful, but the cooks were getting irritated and started giving attitude. It was a terrible experience. On top of that, the food was hot but clearly was rushed. My friends freshly made Kung pao chicken, tasted different and it was more soggy regardless of the sauce. The fried rice was dry as well, the chow mein was okay I guess. This experience was incredibly worsened by all the cooks attitudes. My advice to your staff: DONT be expecting to close up half an hour ahead of schedule. I've worked in fast food before and you shouldn't be attempting to fully close up that early to begin with, it's extremely unprofessional! It's not our faults as customers for why you want to leave your job so badly, so don't give anyone attitude that easily. And second piece of advice: speaking in a foreign language isn't being sneaky. My friend is Salvadorian and I'm Mexican, so attempting to talk smack in Spanish got y'all no where, it just shows your levels of professionalism. With that being said, will no longer be going to this location. Hope you all can fix yourselves, otherwise, be expecting to lose more customers.
Surf Brothers Teriyaki and Catering
1032 W Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
My wife, her family of 5, and I just flew back into town. On our way home we decided to stop into Escondido to change the baby, and grab a bite to eat. We discovered this establishment because it looked like a fun place to celebrate our first meal in California. We walked in to order food, my wife indicated to the employee that she needed to change the baby, and to my surprise the employee directed her to a McDonalds across the plaza. This was completely unnecessary to send her with the baby walking across the plaza to use another establishments facilities. None the less I quickly blew it off, and asked my wife if she would just go back to the van and change the baby, and I would order her food for her. As we all started ordering food it became apparent that there were few options on the menu. Basically rice, and meat. The food we ordered was approx. $10.00-$11.00 a plate. Which totaled nearly $80.00 for all 6 of us. Honestly I thought, for that price it had to be pretty amazing. NOPE! It was basically a knock off Panda Express with rice, chicken, teriyaki, or a mix of the meats. Oh and it came in the same kind of to-go container as Panda. But the restaurant went with black. Cool. At this point, I couldnt even stand being in there. But before I left I needed to use the restroom. I got up, tried to open the door and realized someone was in there because the door was locked. I sat back down and waited patiently. Not long after, One of my In-laws informed me that I had to ask permission to use the restroom. The employee must of seen me trying because when I walked up he had the bathroom key in hand, and ever so cooley handed off the presumably dirty key to me. I reluctantly used the facility, dropped the key back off on the counter, and got everyone back in the car. But out of all of this... What really irked me was after realizing I had to have a key to use the restroom, it explained to me why the employee directed my wife off to McDonalds in the first place. You have to give them money first. Bottom line, if you want more bang for your buck, more options, more food, pay less money, and not have to ask to use a dirty restroom key? go to a Panda Express!
Seoul Korean Corndog & Fried Chicken
272 E Via Rancho Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
와 정말 너무 맛있었어요! 찐한국맛! 추천 합니다Omg? I didnt know such a good authentic korean fried chicken place was up here in Escondido omg. Didnt think itd be good bc its in a mall food court but wow. It is delicious. The Ddeokbokki is spicy and so authentic. Id recommend just the regular ddeokbokki not the special. Special only has one dumpling and one shrimp and cheese added on top.I got the large chicken boneless with garlic sauce on the side, and the fried chicken was soooo crispy. All of this took 10 minutes to come out at 6:30 pm on a saturday!!!This and the special ddeokbokki was perfect portions for me and my parents. Prices were completely reasonable too. Total of $45 for both things.I highly recommend this place.정말정말 너무 맛있었어요!! 추천합니다!!
Thorntree Terrace
San Diego Zoo Safari Park, 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027, United States
This is a theme-park food stand, and I don't generally expect much from such “restaurants.” That said, this place ain't great. The veggie burger isn't bad—the slaw, cheese and brioche bun are nice. The regular burger is kinda “meh” and there's nothing special about it. They give small portions of fries with your food though which is disappointing. Their fruit is pretty fresh. Do NOT order the steamed vegetables—they taste like they came frozen out of a bag and were steamed last minute. The food is also pricey, which, again, is to be expected. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall this is not a good value for the money and you're better off bringing your own lunch, which the park allows you to do.
