The Gardens Casino

Nice and clean casino. They offer valet and self parking. Came here on a Friday night to play poker ($5/$5). They have a large poker room. They have other games too but didnt get a chance to see which ones. They have a restaurant as well. I ordered the Beef Chow Fun (half order) and it was terrible. The service was great though; chip runners, service people, and floor men were always around. The dealers were nice. The players were nice too. Mixed crowd, ethnicity wise but more Asians. I left around 2:00 AM and people were still coming in. This place is cleaner than other LA casinos Ive been to (Hollywood Park and Bicycle). Theres a lot of poker tables going if youre into poker. TVs everywhere with all sports on.
WaBa Grill

WaBa that for lunch?Buy One, Get One Chicken Bowl promoFree dumplings w/ first order from the app*Social Distancing review*Never wasting a good promo when I see one, WaBa Grill takes the place of a forgotten & short-lived teriyaki place. Similar to Flame Broiler, complete with skinless chicken (because thats supposedly healthier), I knew what to expect prior to ordering a chicken bowl.Chicken bowl-Diced, white meat chicken over a bed of white rice, with a slathering of the signature WaBa sauce. On the bright side, the bowl will fill you up. However, coming from a big Yoshinoya fan, the WaBa sauce is required to add flavor tootherwise dry cuts of meat. The rice was fluffy, though.Service was good. On my first visit, I ordered in person. The second, I ordered via the app, both with minimal wait. Parking is via a small private lot, shared by Popeyes Chicken. More available at the adjacent Food 4 Less lot.To-go & delivery are the only available options, due to current events.Maybe if I paid extra for the ribeye, wild caught salmon or shrimp (tofu available, too), the term meh wouldnt have popped into my head while eating WaBa Grills chicken bowl. Fat is flavor, and is good for you. The chicken bowl does provide calories & a substantial meal, but without a promo available, I dont think Id be a frequent customer.

Lucky Coin Laundry

Do not go here! Save your money. The machines at this location are in poor condition. Expensive and machines aren't good. No sink. No bathroom. The maintenance lady on duty is a Hispanic named Laura and she is ghetto and low class. I should've known when I walked thru the doors how dirty the laundromat was that is was rip off. No fans, no air circulation because is a one-way in and out. The manager is an Asian man that is rude and unkind. Doesn't want to talk and receive calls about concerns of the laundromat, only wants you to text. I hated the whole experience there, I grabbed my clothes out of the machine and brought it to a laundry mat up the street that is clean and welcoming and the machines work, and the owners take care of there customers. I only went to this trash dump because it was empty, now I see why no one goes there. Waste of time, energy and money. .

So glad I stopped in to this little gem of a restaurant. I now feel fortunate to have such a great close by, and reasonably priced place for delectable Asian cuisine. They have such a broad selection to choose from. Ill enjoy going back to sample more off their menu.
Pollo Inka Express

Put the Inka on the frying linePollo Inka Express is the new tenant of the space that was long occupied by Albertos Mexican Food. Being accustomed to the ripped upholstery, older than dirt arcade machine & the less than clean windows, I was shocked to see the bright & shiny interior of Pollo Inka Express. Having completed a recent shopping trip to the 99 Cent Only Store across the street, I was game to give Pollo Inka Express a try.I knew I had to order the pollo a la brasa & the saltado1/2 pollo a la brasa (2 sides w/ cilantro soup)-Breast, leg, thigh & wing with my sides being cilantro rice & steamed veggies. The main event? That cilantro rice! Perfectly seasoned with just enough of a kick to please those that prefer spicy food, while not alienating those that like things mild. The chicken was good & tender, but Id remiss if I didnt say I prefer El Pollo Loco. The steamed veggies, consisting of cauliflower, broccoli, corn, peas & carrots were satisfactory. The cilantro soup, while good, wasnt served piping hot. It was a tad hotter than lukewarm. Bits of chunky chicken, rice and other ingredients were pleasing to the palate, but I wouldve been more satisfied had the soup been the correct temperature. The 1/2 pollo a la brasa proved quite a hefty meal.Saltado de pollo (w/ white rice & cilantro soup)-Carb city, baby! Forget feeling hungry after a go with stir-fried French fries & rice. Oh, and lets not forget about the thick cuts of chicken interspersed therein. I found the fried chicken much more flavorful then the rotisserie. Next time, Im going lomo saltado for the winBefore you dig in, dont forget the aji (green hot sauce). Put that beezy on everything! Its that good!In addition to pollo a la brasa & the saltados, Pollo Inka Express menu offers chaufas (fried rice), vainitas (stir fried green beans), tallarines saltados (spaghetti stir fry), salad, sandwiches & salchipapas (fries & hot dogs with ketchup, homemade tartar sauce & spicy mustard).Service was good. The cashier taking my order was friendly & quick with recommendations. Wait time was reasonable, considering how busy the restaurant was, which also has a drive-thru. Ample seating, made up of booths and tables.Parking is in a private lot, which used to be anchored by Walmart Neighborhood Market.I thinka I wanna Inka! Pollo Inka Express will be a busy new eatery in Hawaiian Gardens. The foods great, the prices reasonable & the venue is a lot more welcoming than the predecessor . I know my next visit will have me vanquishing an order of lomo saltado &, perhaps, their chaufas de pollo.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

As a huge fan of South Asian cuisine, I was excited to learn about a new restaurant offering an elevated experience from a Michelin recognized chef. I came on Valentines night with myself and my partner.Food: 3.5 StarsService: 3 StarsAmbiance: 3.5 StarsFood:The flavors will be familiar to those who are familiar with Indian cuisine. Overall, the food was prepared well but failed to be delicious.- The chicken in the biryani came slightly overcooked. The overall flavor of the dish lacked depth: 3 stars.- The lamb in the Aloo Gosht was chewy while the potatoes lacked flavor. The sauce was unbalanced and tasted very heavy: 2.5 stars. The Garlic Naan tasted plain with a soggier texture than expected: 2.5 stars.- The Plain Rice was perfect: 5 stars.- The mango lassi was excellent, albeit expensive considering the small portion: 4stars.Service:Although the staff was very friendly, we felt we werent well attended to throughout our meal. On multiple occasions, the waiter seemed to ignore our table while we were being obvious in flagging him down. On multiple occasions, we had to wait minutes on water after struggling to flag waiters for our empty cups.Ambiance:The decor is pleasant and classy. However, the large dining room is left very open and feels more like a high-end cafeteria rather than an upscale restaurant.I left feeling disappointed with the food, ambiance, and service.
Legend Hot Chicken

My chicken from Kokio, it makes me see.My chicken from Kokio, its so good to me. parody of Woman From Tokyo, Deep PurpleKFC (Korean Fried Chicken), baby!Koreans make the best fried chicken, undoubtedly, IMHO. When I noticed Kokio open for business in the Zion plaza, my salivating tastebuds & growling beast of a belly would only find solace once I chomped down on the crispy skin of Korean fried chicken.Kokios bowls are served with vegetables & rice. Customers can choose from-Cajun BBQ chickenSoy sauce chickenSpicy sauce chickenTeriyaki chickenBeef bowlTeriyaki chicken bowlThe thick pieces of chicken cutlet were tender & juicy, however the vegetables couldve been cooked longer, as they proved tough. The bowl was a large portion, but at Korean Fried Chicken spot, why would anyone go for grilled chicken?Combination plates come with salad & choice of fries, steamed rice or fried rice. Choices are-5 wings4 pieces crispy chicken3 drumsticks3 original crispy stripsCombination wings plate (sweet & spicy)Yummy! Thick, meaty wing portions accompanied by coleslaw & fried rice. An amount thats not too filling, yet not too meager, the combo wings plate hit the spot. The coleslaw was cold & crisp, topped by a thick slice of tomato. The fried rice was enjoyable, with egg as the protein. The sweet & spicy wings had the right balance of sweet to sour, and the crispy skin was a thing to behold. Definitely good!Service was fine. My sis-in-law asked if her 4 piece crispy chicken could be all white meat, which the attendant agreed to. However, she later received a few pieces of dark meat when given her order. She didnt complain about it, as I would have & suggested to her. My sis-in-law just gave me the dark meat, which I happily devoured. The crispy chicken pieces were good, and having more meat than the wings, I just may go for those next time.Ample seating via long booths that encompass each side wall & tables. Large flatscreen TVs had baseball on, Dodger on one side & Angels on the other side. So, choose your side & pledge your allegiance, all while munching on chicken.Parking is in a private lot at the Zion plaza.Oh, you didnt know? Rodney-O, likes Kokio! Kokios fried chicken was incredibly delicious, and being almost empty during weekend lunch hours, we had a peaceful meal, enjoying tasty food & the refreshing A/C. Prices are pretty good for the amount & Im anxiously awaiting coming back & deciding which sauce I want to go with next.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Tacos San Pedro
11832 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
I love tongue!!I love wet, juicy, chewy tongue!!Im talking about tacos de lengua, you freak!Rodneys Law #298 - If an ethnic restaurant has a long line of customers of the same ethnicity, then it has to be good. And authentic. The place was poppin with people ordering their evening nom noms. I almost had flashbacks to the lines at the DMV. Being a TSP virgin, we went for tacos de lengua & quesadilla de pollo. Tacos are $2.10 each, which I find kinda pricey but they were so good. Surprisingly filling to boot, too. If youve never had good lengua, imagine the tastiest, tenderest pot roast youve ever had. THAT is lengua, my yelp friends. The chicken quesadilla was good, as well. Could use more cheese, IMHO, but is there every really enough cheese on anything? Methinks not. Even though there was a long line, we actually didnt wait too long to pay and to get our food.Parking is horrendous, both in the lot & the street. Im thinking customers can park at the Hawaiian Gardens casino and hoof it, but dont hold me to it if you get your car towed. Que lastima!Highly recommend!Tacos San Pedro, I shall see you otra vez. Hasta luego, mi amor!Fun fact - There are no Tacos San Pedros in San Pedro. Isnt it ironic, dont you think? A little tooooooooooooooooo ironic, and I really do think. (Alanis Morissette reference. Yes!)NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Jang Soo Sushi Bar Restaurant
12591 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
Came here last year with coworkers when I was visiting town. The service was mediocre but the food was decent so I decided to visit again for the crave of Korean style fresh sashimi alone this time. From the moment of ordering, it wasn't friendly at all and they didn't mention anything about the food being a lot. (Ordered sashimi combo/course “mini” for $95)As I proceeded with the meal, I started notifying that the server was skipping some dishes. I had to ask for those dishes and every time they asked if I want it. For example, they skipped the tempura, grilled fish, corn cheese and almost the spicy soup at the end. They noticeably asked other tables whether they want the soup because the kitchen is closing soon except me. So I waited till she came by. Not to mention that she hardly came by or anything. I had to call her and asked if there will be soup coming out at the end. Then she had an audacity to ask me “oh, you want the soup too?” Jesus. I cannot believe this kind of service. Also she never checked on me and I had to ask for water. And yes, you guessed it. She was sooooo fast to come and get the check in and out even before I started to gathering myself lolIt was a lot of food but they didn't even bother to ask if I want smaller size or even want to skip. They just decided to try to fool me. There are plenty of other Korean sashimi places. Please save your dime for this disrespectful and dishonest business. Its been a long time since I received such poor treatment while eating a meal that costs close to $100.Last year, when I went with local co-workers, the staff service wasnt great, but the food was pretty good, so this time, I drove all the way from another town to eat the sashimi combo mini while on a business trip. Perhaps because I came alone, they left out the sukidashi. If thats the case, then why did you write the explanation on the combo like that? Why do I have to ask for everything separately when Im paying for it with my own money? Its unpleasant. I went there with high expectations, but was disappointed. I think it would have been better if they had asked me in advance if I wanted to omit some of the sukidashi, as it was too much to eat alone, or if they had given me an alternative to substituting smaller portions for each course. I asked for some of the fried food that didnt come out, but they said it tasted like they had re-fried the old food. They didnt even check to see if I needed anything and just threw the food away. Even if I intentionally gave them an empty cup to fill it with water, they didnt fill it. I think you need to give a lot of consideration in terms of service.
