It used to be great but isn't so much anymore. I don't know if it has been a change in ownership or just management, but this place has circled the drain. We used to love this place for its authentic Thai food and wonderful service. Today, I made the grievous error of selecting to eat here over the hundreds of other Thai restaurants and the thousands of other restaurants from Torrance to Carson to Long Beach to downtown LA to Manhattan Beach. I wanted somewhere casual and easy. With the view this place had, I figured that since this place has been great in the past, it was a safe bet for our super chill anniversary dinner. NOPE! I was wrong! The crispy mango fish was supposed to have a lime based sauce. What was served was crispy sole in sugar water. In fairness, I have to say there there were fresh mangoes in the dish. The server never came by to check on the mess he left. Had he checked, I would have just requested limes to fix the dish myself and happily ate it. Instead, the longer I waited, the more irritated I got. When we finally flagged the server down to ask for limes or lemon or something, I was already disappointed. At least the girl bussing the table was super sweet and helpful when we asked for boxes ( gonna try to salvage the fish using the leftover curry) The one star is for her. At that point, I really just wanted to get out of there. The bill also took forever to be given after we requested it. This will likely be our last time there as we do not appreciate the changes that has been foisted on the place. There are tons of other Thai food places in this area. Check them out instead: Baramee, Jasmin, etc.Note to new owner/manager: you should have kept the old staff, who were awesome. Your new servers are not good…the girl busing was pretty awesome. I recommend going to other restaurants to learn the basics such as checking on the food delivered to the table.

Hi! I have tried calling your location today 10 times to speak with the owner and manager with no luck of anyone answering the phone. So I am resorting to leaving you a message about what happened yesterday.I walked in to the store at 7:29pm to order my poke bowl. Upon walking in, there was a girl working there who told me that they were closed. I asked what time they closed at and she said 730. I asked her to tell me what time is currently was and she said 7:31 PM. I noticed that all the food was still out and they still had yet to clean up and close the restaurant so I asked her if she would accommodate me and allow me to order a bowl she replied with, no, I have a life and things to do. I was completely flabbergasted by her lack of Customer Service . I asked her, if her manager was available for me to speak with. she said, no., but we are closed so leave now.I was debating whether or not to say anything - but kids these days not taught manners or customer service. And if I don't tell her what she did was not okay then who will? So I proceeded to let her know that I had worked in customer service for years and that her response was absolutely unacceptable and not the way you treat a customer. Her response was, this is how youre talking to a 17-year-old? I asked her what her name was and she said it was Mac. I told her that I would try to call her manager so that her manager could help coach her with working with the public and customer service because what she showed me was absolutely awful and disrespectful. There was a guy working with her and I looked at him and apologized for him having to work with her.I am so disappointed by how she treated me, it was appalling. Also, if you were closed the door should have been locked. I hope you train and teach this teenager how to work with the public because because I refuse to give money to a restaurant where I will be getting treated poorly. This type of service will make your business loose customers. Good luck with training.

Im sorry Im not one to yelp but today my 7 year old and I went to try it out and support our new local spot in town and the owner had a horrible attitude because I asked the worker how much would it be for additional scoops of Poke and she said $2.00. The owner rushed out with a attitude and said NO! because it was a loss for him because it wasnt at the moment that I placed my order, mind you i had just paid within minutes and the reason i had asked for additional scoops were because the octopus was really tough and my 7 year old couldnt bite into it, and instead of complaining I figured I would just pay for another side. The employee had told him I had just payed and he did not care! he told me I had to buy a whole new bowl. I felt her embarrassment and well as I did as other customers walked in with a confused look. I will NOT support this kind of business in my town, nor will i EVER have anything good to say about it! We have way better establishments with gracious, kind attitudes towards new customers. I would have understood if I was told and if he would have just said for future visits this is how it goes, but no he went all wrong and sorry buddy but i believe in first impressions and i wont be recommending your place anytime soon. Hopefully your lease is short term. Best of Luck, NOT!

WOW! Thats how I felt after a day with girlfrends at Terranea enjoying the grounds, spa, drinks and dining. Every detail is attended to and the staff bent over backwards, no matter where we were, to make sure our needs were being met and exceeded. The setting on the cliffs of Palos Verdes is spectacular and the landscaping at every turn on the resort showed great attention to detail and creativity. I found myself stopping every few steps to ooh and aah at the gardens, trees and flower arrangements. The spa offered lots of enticing treatments and a staff who knew what they were doing and cared about the quality of the experience. They were punctual and the support staff hustled to anticipate any support a guest might need - towels, suncreen, water, snacks, etc., etc. And as an added benefit, when you purchase a spa treatment you get access to the other wonderful amenities at Terranea including the heated pool, trails, beach, gorgeous lobby and bar area, and nooks and crannies accessible at almost every turn to enjoy the view.We enjoyed a drink on the patio of the lobby soaking in the beautiful ocean view and listing to live guitar music. Drinks were fresh with sophisticated presentation. Then we had dinner at Bashi, an Asian fusion restaurant on the grounds with the most unique Asian cuisine Ive ever tasted. All came out steaming hot. Of course this experience also came with the ocean views.Henry Cox, Resort Activities Operations Manager, epitomizes the culture of Terranea. He greeted us with a gigantic smile, couldnt wait to share all the amazing things Terranea has to offer, and listened to our interests and questions so that he could make sure that our time at the resort left us totally impressed, satisfied and wanting to come back. We definitely will be back and I cant wait to share this destination with friends and colleagues.Thank you for a wonderful experience, Terranea!
Northern Cafe
29050 S Western Ave #100, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, United States
I ordered through Uber Eats. The food was delivered missing an item of Chicken Chow Mein (spicy). I spoke with the owner who was very difficult to understand, not just by me but 3 other nurses on speaker phone. She decided that because she put six bags in the box that we received all of our items. No matter how many times I tried to tell her it wasnt in the box she kept counting the bags. So....anyways the DanDan noodle with ground pork didnt have ground pork, it had these minute shreds of pork that was difficult to see at first, so I basically paid 11.99 for ill tasting noodles. The Pork and Shrimp Wonton soup were extremely bland and can not compare to that of Nim Chans . We nurses were craving Chinese food, Nim Chans is our go to place. For some reason they are closed today. We decided to try somewhere new ordered from Northern Cafe and will never do again. I have never given a negative review that I can remember. If zero stars was possible that would have been my score. The food is not very good, but my greatest issue was how right the owner repeatedly declared to be. Amazing
Golden Cove Center

Tucked away far into the Palos Verdes peninsula, this shopping center is special to me because of 2 things! One is the Subway sandwich shop here. So you say whats so special about that? Two words: The View!! Order your sandwich, and then dine outside on the patio. And youll be enjoying your $5 footlong, with a multi-million dollar view in front of you! If youre really smart, youll time your visit to coincide with the local sunset time!!!And second, do some shopping at the Trader Joes before heading back home! This one is special because its hardly ever crowded.

Ive been to two of these little cafes and I prefer the one that is in Malaga cove. The difference I found is that the one in Malaga cove gives you the feel that you are in another country its very cute and the courtyard is nice and you just feel like youre at a little cafe in France or something its really really nice. The one in Palos Verdes is also nice but you know youre in Palos Verdes and its very busy and the street is right there so youve got cars going past you and 50 miles an hour and then the light turns red and youre reading their exhaust if youre sitting outside. It is however nice to sit outside because you can see the ocean and on a nice day you can see Catalina which is a treat. The food was equally good at both locations however I think the service was better at the Malaga cove location. Possibly because the one in Palos Verdes was very busy and it seemed like the clientele in the Palos Verdes location were a little more rude and giving the servers and the wait staff a little more attitude and hard time. I felt sorry for the poor cashier She look like she was about ready to drop. I could hear people behind me complaining and just generally being unpleasant so I felt very sorry for her and I actually came in and gave her a tip in addition to leaving a tip for the server.
