Taroko Asian Bar & Grill
1701 Pine St, Redding, CA 96001, United States
For our 20th wedding anniversary we went to Taroko Asian grill. It was a beautiful restaurant with what can only be rated 5-star dining experience with extremely affordable prices. The staff was very friendly and kind. They have a gluten-free menu! We got wanton appetizers. My husband got wanton soup and also a rich Malaysian Curry bowl [(Steak) comes in chicken and shrimp too] . I got the Taroko Chicken and rice, delicious! We asked for extra bowls so we could try each others food. We will have leftovers for a few days. For dessert, we shared stawberry ice cream wrapped in Stawberry flavored Mouchi layered on top of a bed of crushed berries. They have it available in 4 flavors. Everything was so good. Compliments to the Chef, you have perfected your dishes! The flavor palettes are amazing!Definitely 5 stars! I cant wait to go again. Taroko Asian grill has got to be the best kept secret in Redding! If you are reading this,YOU will want to go soon before the secret gets out!
New China Restaurant
3669 Eureka Way, Redding, CA 96001, United States
This little gem is hidden in the corner of a shopping mall. If you blink, you will miss it. First time visiting since my usual Asian restaurant was closed for the day. First impressions: small, but cozy dining area. The restaurant is very clean and neat in appearance. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken plate. The chicken looked crisp and clean, not like other restaurants where they reuse the oil so the chicken looks dark in appearance. Overall a great dinner experience.
Panda South Chinese Restaurant
64 Lake Blvd, Redding, CA 96003, United States
Good food, we got take out. Living near Portland, we have high expectations for Asian food at restaurants. The food was served hot. The vegetables were fresh, and the meat may have been cooked a bit before it was added to our dishes
The Rustic Table Asian Kitchen

Traveling through Redding and stumbled upon this place. Overall a breath of fresh air for Redding Asian restaurants. Loved the Kaopoon soup noodle and the papaya salad. Keep up the good work guys ?
Lunas Latin-Asian Fusion & Bar
2914 Churn Crk Rd, Redding, CA 96002, United States
Given the restaurant name - Asian Fusion and Bar, we tried out their cocktail and some fusion style dishes (or dish, more about it below). I have to say, they were very unique and very tasty. We love it.First, we ordered a Bloom Fizz cocktail and some blended margaritas, I personally liked the Bloom Fizz a lot, but margaritas were also good.In terms of dishes, we didnt know what Molcajete is, so we asked the waitress. The waitress was super nice and advised us that one Molcajete dish can serve 2 - 3 people. Having some doubt in mind, we decided to trust the waitress and ordered the seafood Molcajete. When the dish came, we were pleasantly surprised.!! The seafood is served in a hot stone bowl. The dish is enough to feed 3 of us (2 men + 1 lady). it is very, very good and tasty. When we finished the food, the bowl is still very hot.!! And it is only $42 for 3 people.Overall, we love the drink and food there. If we happen to be in Redding area again, we definitely want to try their Asian Molcajete. Highly recommended.
Janyas Thai Cuisine
630 N Market St, Redding, CA 96003, United States
I ordered the Mussamun beef. The sauce was good though I had to add some heat. the service was good. But the quality of the beef was very low. This is common at Asian restaurants though. Ive had good Mussamun beef before. The beef should be more in the order of shredded beef cubes and not this tough beef that is more appropriate for making beef jerky. But like I said this is a common problem with beef in Asian restaurants. Very few get it right. My data had a yellow curry dish that she said was good. Just avoid anything with beef in it... very low grade beef is used here.
Panda Express
966 Dana Dr, Redding, CA 96003, United States
Panda Express is definitely a five-star experience that I think youll love.cheap Asian food and the best part is you wont wait too long. They serve many many different dishes and the food is fresh!you can see it being cooked in the background on Giant walks.the people are always friendlyI go there quite often and I have never had a bad experience. The restaurant is always clean and the people are friendly and the food is very very fresh so for your money I think this is a good experience and if you enjoy good Asian Cuisine. You could pay a lot more at a sit-down restaurant(more expensive traditional Asian) for the same thing so why not save a couple bucks and go here instead.you cant go wrong because they have a great selection and like I said the food is fresh .which is very important to meand I assumed very important to you....♡
Tokyo Garden
1675 Hilltop Dr M, Redding, CA 96002, United States
First let me say that for the last 25+ year my family and I have always enjoyed Tokyo Gardens. It is the one place that we always look forward to, but today we stopped in about 3 and ordered 2 apps, a bento box, 2 specialty roll, a kids meal, and 3 other rolls. My wife ordered a diet soda and when it came she asked for some lemon for it. After about 10 minutes again we asked for the lemon and was told by the waiter she would go get it that, they where cutting them. About 10 minutes later she brought our seaweed salad and calamari fries apps. The salad was great but the calamari fries were rings and were so over cooked they were like chewing on rubber bands. When she brought some small plates for the apps, we asked again for the lemons we were told they didnt have any after waiting for 30 minutes or more for them. After another 10 minutes I received my bento box, I grabbed a piece of tempura green bean it was room temp and soggy. The waiter then brought the kids meal and I asked her if I could get some fresh tempura that mine was cold and soggy. She told me she would have them refry them for me, I said that they would probably be way over cooked if they just refried the old ones. She said OK, but when they were returned they were way over cooked and the rest of the food was room temp along with a somewhat warm and wilted salad. The kids meal sesame chicken tasted like a tin can or a metallic taste which we returned having only eaten one goyza. After a few more minutes my child received there 2 specialty rolls which were very good and then got our cal roll and two deep fried chicken rolls that were made with the chicken not deep fried but the hold rolls were tempuraed. Which was just a mistake but still took 15 to 20 minutes to remake. The whole time we were there no dirty dishes were removed from our table, I had to keep setting them on the table next us just so we would have room food which probably wasnt necessary since other then the apps we never all had food at the same time. When we got our ticket we were charged for the sesame chicken which we had returned because it didnt taste good. My wife asked for her soda togo and received a small empty cup that wouldnt even hold what was left in her cup.I was in the restaurant industry for 20 plus years and know that sometimes your short handed and things dont go as planed but there was 3 waiters, at least one busser, 2 sushi chefs and at least one person in the kitchen. When we got there they were not allowing tables other then in the first dinning room and only sat people in that room the whole time we were there. Generally when were there we see and walk to the owner Peter, but didnt see him there this time. I just hope he is doing ok!
PRIYA Indian Cuisine
2937 Churn Crk Rd, Redding, CA 96002, United States
Wow! This has been my favorite Indian food (by far) over the last 5 years. Luckily as a truck driver I get to experience a ton of different towns and states and as I said nothing has ever been better than Priya period. The last two orders have literally been Terrible. Going from a 5 star rating to at best a 3 star. Last week I went in as a dine-in (as I often do) and the food I always order was cold. I left a full plate and 3/4 of a a 22oz beer. It's was a terrible experience.Thinking “ ok maybe they were just off 1 time. I mentioned to the owner as I paid, that's the food was cold and it never has been before. The owners (husband I assume), just smiled as if I thanked him. The opposite reaction of what I expected from a complaint with someone I've seen 30-40 times In person. Maybe there was a language barrier or something but he seems to have understood me in the past.Tonight I figured I would try it again. Because I love their food. Yuck. Tonight I got the same dish I have ordered to my house too many times to count. It was gross. Will never go back again. Kiss my loyalty and money goodbye. Was the best by far and I enjoyed many meals but no longer can.Goodbye Priya. It's been great. And after calling the owner “she” basically said nobody else complains. I guess for some reason now after I would guess 100 or so orders, I'm just a new non-fan complainer. Yes I decided to just complain on the last two visits. Not the 100 before where I state “this is the best Indian food I have ever had”. Super sad.
Kobe Seafood & Steakhouse
1300 Market St, Redding, CA 96001, United States
I was so disappointed in the service there. Ive been waiting tables for over 10 years, so I know what good customer service is and this was by far the worst Ive ever had. I always leave a tip even if the service isnt great because I know it means something, but this time I didnt tip just too make a point to this woman! When my girlfriend and I came in we were celebrating and the lady who took our order ruined our whole experience. I dont mind spending a pretty penny when the food and the service is worth it but I was not happy about my bill considering my service. Everytime she would come to the table she was super rude with the way she talked to us. Also she was the only waitress who was wearing gloves and busing tables at the same time(which is fine, being ahard worker is great, but she served our food with the same glove she cleaned with) I tried really hard to find the positive.. (maybe she isnt a waitress, maybe she is just helping, but still you could have still given us good customer service, its not that hard ) I ordered a meal that had soup and my soup came last on the table after my food was giving to me. On top of that the food I ordered was over cooked. When I tried to explain this to her, she literally yelled at me and said NO thats what you ordered (seared tuna) I told you its seared!! Thats what you get I was so embarrassed because my girlfriend had to tell me no if it doesnt taste good let them know. (I hate complaining as it is, because Ive worked in the industry I know it is) but this was extremely rude!!! I just wanted her to let the cook know that the tuna YES was seared but it was well overcooked and dry! But no she told me thats what I get and Im NOT giving refund! Everyone around us was staring... It was humiliating! Not to mention she was super pushy (like rushing us) she barely could speak English... Im not trying to be rude but if you are going to work in the industry you should be able to be patient with us if we dont understand what youre saying one and two you shouldnt push us into hurrying up our order. Yes it was late, but we still had a whole hour before closing, so that was uncalled for! I love this place but I dont know if Ill be coming back due to the worst service Ive ever had.. I can find other restaurants with just as good of food and waaaaay better of service. I Even asked for her name so I could call the manager and make a complaint but I forgot it, she should be fired!!!I have to be pushed very far to write a bad review and I have to say if you go there dont let the lady who wears black plastic gloves serve you!! ?
