I tried this place and thought it was alright, until I saw the following report from the San Gabriel Valley Tribune today:Three dead nymph cockroaches floating in water in a large pot with cabbage were among the reasons a health inspector shut down a vegetarian Chinese restaurant in Rowland Heights in December. The discovery was made on Dec. 19 at Happy Family Restaurant, 18425 Colima Road No. 2F-B in Rowland Heights. In a report on file with the Los Angeles County Public Health Department, the inspector also made note of:One live adult cockroach on the floor by the mechanical warewasher.Three dead cockroaches on the floor by the mechanical wareawsher. Two dead cockroaches on the floor by the mop sink. One dead cockroach on the bottom shelf of the interior of the one-door reach-in cooler.Three dead cockroaches on the floor by the rice cooker. Two dead cockroaches on the floor behind the ice machine. Two dead cockroaches on the floor below shelving in the small storage room. One dead cockroach on the floor behind the chest reach-in freezer in the small storage room. One dead cockroach on the floor in the women's restroom.Cockroach fecal marking in between the white wall and metal splash guard by the oven.

It was too hot to eat anything soupy or a hot dish. I wanted a cold entree type food. Spring rolls came to mind. My favorite place was too far and every other place that served it didnt have both shrimp and pork in it. Partner hopped on Yelp and found this place. The parking is a little crazy, its tight and everyone seems impatient AF. Theres a lot of honking and flashing lights. LOL. Especially on a Friday night like tonight.Thankfully, it wasnt busy until after we sat down. We ordered two spring rolls and a vermicelli dish. Theyre definitely on the pricier side. 2 pieces of spring rolls for almost $7. BUT they are the only restaurant that I know of in Rowland that uses green leaf, shrimp AND pork. So it was perfect in my opinion. The ratio of all three ingredients was stellar, not too much of the other. The peanut dipping sauce could use a little work, it was a bit on the sweet side in my opinion (almost like apple juice flavor). Partner also loved his dish, everything was very flavorful and delectable to the palate. The meat served with it was tender and juicy.Overall had a great dinner experience though and definitely would come back again for the spring rolls!

Man Chan is popular for their Hainan chicken, but what made me confused was that it is located really close to another popular Hainan Chicken restaurant. However, my dad and I opted to go to Man Chan because he had been to its other location in the SGV. I do think it was worth a trip out to Rowland Heights! The restaurant itself is very small and more of an L-shaped sitting area. There are a few tables in the front section, and a few more located along a more narrow corridor in the side. The tables and walls are decorated with pretty interesting designs, and the lighting is a little dim.My dad ordered their Hainan Chicken rice while I tried their Tom Yum chicken noodle soup. The dishes come with a free bowl of soup. I really liked everything that I ate - the Hainan Chicken was better than Savoy, in my opinion. Very good tasting rice that had flavor and wasnt too soft nor too hard. The chicken was succulent and tasty, and the sauces gave it a little extra kick. My Tom Yum chicken noodle soup was really good as well. The soup was not too spicy - but did have a kick as well as a tanginess to it. I really liked the thick rice noodles. The chicken wasnt as great as my dads Hainan chicken because it was just big chunks of meat that werent as flavorful. But the overall taste of the soup helped give the chicken more of the soups flavor, which was good.Prices were decent and the service was good. I would return if I was in the area.

If I could give a 0 star, I would gladly do so within a heartbeat. It takes one bad experience to ruin it all. This restaurant definitely does not put customer service, experience, satisfaction as their priority. Extremely unprofessional and unethical. Very disappointed. We used to love this place and come here very often. Today, we came in as a party of 4, which is me, my mom, my 10 year old brother, and my boyfriend. We got seated, we ordered, then SHAWN (male staff with both arms full of tattoos), dropped my mom's hotpot on the table with a bad attitude and he walks away. He dropped it so hard that the table next to us was disappointed at their service as well. We took into consideration that maybe he was having a bad day. Then I kindly raised my hand to call him back because he forgot to heat up the pot for us. He rolled his eyes and sigh. SHAWN said “what's the problem?”. I said “you forgot to help us heat up the pot” and my mom said “So, what's your problem? Why such bad attitude?” Then Shawn said “Relax, SHIT” and yes he cursed in front of my 10 year old brother. Then Shawn proceeds back behind the cash register and tells other staffs what happened and they were all laughing like it was a joke. One of the staff CINDY heard about what happened and she came over to us and asked if everything was okay. We then explained to her what has happened. She claimed that she was the supervisor and said that she was sorry and was trying to offer us free drinks. Of course, we had decline the offer because we're not here for their free items. My little brother was so scared that he was afraid to go to the bathroom alone. So, my boyfriend brought him to the bathroom. As my brother was in the bathroom, my boyfriend was standing outside in the hallway. My mom and I saw SHAWN walked near my boyfriend. He got very close to my boyfriend's face and confronted him “what's the problem, do you want to fight?” Which staff in a restaurant would initiate that they want to fight? Says a lot about this restaurant. SHAWN buffed up and he was about to hit my boyfriend, the staff CINDY saw and she quickly held him back. What an embarrassment. Luckily, the cameras in the corner caught everything. We all went back to our seat, CINDY brought SHAWN to our table and try to resolve the issue and of course, it did not work because his bad attitude is unstoppable. We asked for the manager to come. The manager came and we explained the problem to her. She told us that this was beyond her control. I said “are you serious? Your cameras are right here, it caught everything.” And she was speechless. Never have I ever spoken to a manager that is so useless before. It shocks me that for any manager that lacks such professionalism. She had no responsibility, she did nothing what so ever. All she did was hide behind her workers and pretend like nothing happened. As a restaurant owner myself, the least I can do is make the staff come and apologize to my customers. The most I can do is fire them because I would always want 100% service and satisfaction for all my customers.I will never set foot in this establishment again. I also do not and would never recommend this place to my friends or family. It is no wonder why they only have a 3 star rating from a total of almost 800 yelp reviewers, that is really embarrassing. This restaurant definitely needs internal training for all staffs and especially need a well trained professional and ethnical manager that has experience in this service industry. For further details, I will be filing a complaint to 311 for this unethical establishment.

7:10 PMI've never felt to disrespected and discriminated in my life. I came to lunch on 4/10/2024. I came to bring my date for all you can eat and added the all you can't drink for two people. We fullly understood that we had a 90 minute time limit. The entire lunch we ordered conservatively and never once ordered more than we could finish. We never ordered after 90 minutes. At 80 minutes we order one more pitcher of beer and 4 small orders of beef. They only brought 2 orders and one pitcher. At 2 hours they told us we over stayed our welcome and should have been gone at 90 minutes. When they approached us they said if they are busy you need to leave at 90 minutes. The restaurant was empty. There was literally 70 percent of the restaurant was empt there was no one there. It was amber the manger that wanted to kick us out. They made us feel so incredibly unwelcome. She mentioned that manger customers waste food.we never once ordered superfluously. When they approached us we had a single plate of beef and half a pitcher of beer in front of us. I never in my life have felt this was but amber kept arguing and arguing about other customers and what other customers do. It was disrespectful and disgusting. I see why this restaurant sits empty. Amber needs to be removed. She treated us in the most disgusting of mangers I felt she saw us less then human. I honestly couldn't believe it. The server came with our check and said we have here in their empty restaurant longer then 2 hours and we needed to pay and leave

Really sad because I use to frequent this location quite often about a year ago but something has definitely changed. Either the cook or the management or both. The quality of the food is completely different from what it once was. The teriyaki chicken had bones in it and the sauce was clumpy and nothing like what it was before. Its not even the consistency of what teriyaki sauce should be like. I went with two other guests and they ordered the Beef Bowl and Teriyaki chicken. The beef in the beef bowl was a lot less than what it was before. I ordered the Ajisens best and it was way too salty. Tasted more like their worst. The meat was tough and it was definitely not what it use to be. The server did not check in on us after taking the order and dropping off the dishes. When I spoke with the server about the chicken she said there wasnt bones in the chicken until I pointed it out to her right on the dish. No offer to change things up or fix it. Also, feeling pretty sick to the stomach and the only thing I had before this meal was a protein shake so Im pretty sure this place was the culprit. I would not recommend Ajisens now. Its a sad shadow of what it once was just a year or so ago as I remembered it. Definitely lost a loyal customer here.

It was 6pm and my wife and I were the only customers there. We ordered beef noodle soup, Taiwanese braised pork rice, braised tofu, and two cups of milk tea.Waiting time was not long. Braised tofu and braised pork rice were tasty, but the portions of them is only enough for a 5 years old, beef noodle soup took a while to be served, the beef and the soup are no where near authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Noodle was not bad though, kinda chewy. One of the worst milk tea, if not the worst…On top of the overrated food and drinks, the waitress overcharged $3, come on! We already feel like being robbed by the tiny portioned food that costs $13 a bowl, and the watered down milk tea that costs $5 each…Waitress ended up change the price matching what's on the menu, and apologized then explained there is something wrong with their POS system…It was our first and last time there!

〖The only restaurant in the world with all negative reviews, awesome〗 There is really no other restaurant in the world that tastes so bad! I admire them all, the hygiene of the materials used is extremely disgusting, something serious will happen sooner or later, food poisoning is definitely inevitable, and the boss will probably have to pay for his pants! The waiter felt like a deceased relative, feeling very unhappy at work! Everyone is inefficient and slow! I guess the boss didn't pay enough! If you are unhappy, you can change your job. Why do you want your guests to feel your negative energy? Let's talk about the taste. It's really terrible. How could it be so unpleasant? Even people who don't know how to cook wouldn't make it so unpleasant. I guess the raw materials are not good and many things are sour! The old tofu almost made me cry. It is really the most delicious in the world!

This Northeastern restaurants cuisine is quite authentic, but its easy to make mistakes. We came here three times to return dishes. The blood sausage we ordered the first time was very noodles, so I was afraid it would not be fresh. We all come from the Northeast and know what blood sausage tastes like. We can't just give up on something like blood. We were afraid it would go bad, so we returned it. The second colorful facelift, the facelift was old, neither elastic nor soft, it felt like it had been left for a long time. I asked them to take it back and put on a new one and it became elastic. Its quite annoying that a new one is being given to us for the old one. The third time was the steamed fish, which came very late and was undercooked, so I thought about forgetting it, but it turned out that we couldnt return it anymore. I came four or five times and stepped on thunder three times. Even though this is the case, I can still give three stars because his home is relatively close to us, so it gives some face to the fellow villagers. By the way, the portion is too small, I don't know why. If you like Northeastern cuisine, you can give it a try. If you come here to eat it often and you don't have a good relationship with the proprietress, it's easy to get offended. The lady boss is very nice and the service is also good.
