Panda Express
689 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Solana Beach, CA 92075, United States
I am completely appalled... the food was okay this time, but the service was horrific. Wendy argued with my wife over using a coupon on a large order. We asked for cookies and fortune cookies, assuming they added it to the bill loke every other visit. Apparently not, since Wendy took it upon herself to confront us at our vehicle. Im not certain why you would accuse a customer that spends $100+ of stealing a cookie they asked for. I could have been double charged for cookies and not even noticed, theyre cheap! Not only did she accuse us of stealing, she threatened to call the cops next time. Ive never been treated this way. Considering my previous review, Im even more surprised by this. I dont know what to think of this place anymore.Previous Review (5-star):Excellent customer service! Ive been to other locations in the past and barely wanted Panda Express when I made a large online order. When I arrived 10 minutes before the pickup time, they apologized and explained why it wasnt ready yet! While it was obvious, the gesture was appreciated. Wendy especially made this a great experience with a warm smile and made me feel like my time was appreciated. If nothing else, I will return to this location!

My family and I just went to this restaurant earlier today and we asked to sit outside with our dog and 2 kids. Not a single waiter even looked at us to say hi, or we will be with you or take our order for drinks or food for over 20 minutes. Other tables around us were getting service and were asked questions multiple times. I dont want to say it but I have darker skin and my spouse is Asian. We have mixed kids. I and my family feel like we were treated unfairly due to our racial make up and were embarrassed and confused by the way we were treated and completely ignored. After we left my kids felt confused about the whole situation and we are still talking to them about it 2 hours later. The customers and servers were all Caucasian and it was obvious to us we did not belong there and we got up and left with no employee intervening to stop us or ask why we just got up and left. Its 2021, I cant believe there are still people like this in America.

Great Thai restaurant in an area with not a lot of Asian food.

TLDR - 5/5 delicious food, fantastic service. Expect a little bit of a wait, nothing out of the norm for a restaurant in demand. There was a little bit of a wait to get our food but it was nothing out of norm for a busy restaurant. Also weather was perfect, and the waitress had a second sense of when to refill our coffee and water. This lets us enjoy each others company while waiting for what ended up being a super delicious lunch!I got the enchiladas and eggs. It was good but I wouldn't order again. Next time I will order the flat bread or the fried green tomato sandwich. The enchiladas were good, the black beans, but the scrambled eggs just didn't feel in sync. All good on their own.We also shared the Tahitian Vanilla French toast - I worried it would be too sweet/overwhelming vanilla flavor, it was just right. The blackberry stuffed French toast is next on our list.My partner got the Maple Fried Chicken sandwich with the addition of sliced tomato. It was the winning dish at the table. The tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, the fried chicken perfectly crisp.

The Naked Cafe

Asian Fusion? The only thing Asian is in the names of some dishes.A few things i like are the healthy options like quinoa, egg whites, soy chorizo and very good home backed breads. Quality coffees and teas, fresh squeezed OJ, grapefruit and lemonade. Pesto egg white scramble, spinach and whole grain tortillas. Heaps of black beans.A few things i found lacking was a salad with breakfast (albeit a variety of garden greens). Come on, I eat a lot of health food to counter my moments of weakness and gluttony, but the salad does nothing, but detract from the great meals, it adds nothing to the overall taste of the dishes and they dont offer a variety of dressings (raspberry vinaigrette)Things i didnt factor into this rating, but thought you all should know. My party of 3 had a long wait due to it being a Saturday morning and they have some12 2 person tables, 7 4 person and a few larger, but youll wait much longer than if you had 2 people. Its small and outside(covered it can be cold), no parking lot (3 spaces). The fresh squeezed OJ is 8 oz and $3 dollars. I really wanted the french toast, pesto egg scramble and beef hash, but i went for the pesto scramble, 1 piece of french toast, herbed potatoes and avo slices. Many tofu options, but many vegetarian options.I found the french toast good, but nothing special, good bread and tasty coconut, but i found the wash didnt have nutmeg and cinnamon they way Im used to, very little complexity. the syrup bottles poured painfully slow. Glad i only got 1 piece. The avo really was fresh, but the herbed potatoes i thought overdone and they may have used fresh herbs for plating and garnish, but i sure didnt taste them in the eating. You want real Asian fusion breakfast go to Orange Countys Break of Dawn Cafe. Their are much better breakfast/brunch places, but i truly like the options they offer.

Sindis Snack Shack
150 S Acacia Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075, United States
Small family-owned Asian fusion restaurant by the beach, perfect for grabbing a shared meal during a sunset watch :)I appreciate the authenticity of an Asian wife and husband cooking warm meals in a remodeled hangar-style shack. Theres so much to choose from.. if youre craving something Vietnamese or Korean, they got it: banh mis, kimchi grilled cheese, Korean ramyun, and rice bowls. They also serve shaved ice and boba milk teas! We got the kimchi quesadilla $11, pretty solid and yummy choice. Spicy, cheesy, toasty, and not too messy. There are a few tables outside, but we just took the food to go. Would come back again to try a drink!

Was seated right away, but the waitress that seated us disappeared. Was not offered water, while every other table was. All other tables were waited on while we waited for 15 minutes before we had to call someone over ourselves to order (restaurant was not busy at all). When we finished eating, we called over the same waitress to get our bill. Before even finishing our sentence, she turned away and helped someone else. We then had to call another waiter (again) to get our bill. Do not know if this was all about race, but it sure felt like it (we are asian while almost everyone else was white/mexican). The food was also not good. Overall a bad place and left feeling disrespected.

Vons
931 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Solana Beach, CA 92075, United States
I visited Vons, Solano Beach, CA on 5/19/23 at 11:10. The cashier was Jeanne. As the cashier was ringing my items, I was helping put them in my cart. At one point I turned around and the woman behind me in line had moved up so close to me that she could have rested her chin on my shoulder. Her husband was behind their cart and she was in front so I couldnt make her move back because the husband had the cart right up against her as she was up against me. Jeanne saw this and did nothing. I normally use a credit card to pay for groceries, but I felt compelled to pay cash because the woman who was an inch away from me was staring over my shoulder so it wasnt safe to use a credit card because she would be able to see it.This is unacceptable customer service. I run a library. If a customer is behaving badly toward another customer, the library staff steps in to protect the innocent customer.Who knows if this woman at Vons was just rude or whether she and her husband pull this on everyone to try to get credit card information. It should not have been my responsibility to deal with this rude/criminal behavior. Shame on Jeanne for not protecting her customer. She could have at least called security over if she didnt want to deal with it herself. Making me feel uncomfortable by unchecked criminal behavior is not acceptable. I wont be giving my business to this store again.

The Fish Market - Solana Beach
640 Via De La Valle, Solana Beach, CA 92075, United States
Date of visit: 4/14/2017We came here for a late lunch before going to run some errands. Since it was Good Friday, my mom wanted fish for lunch, so we opted to go to The Fish Market since it is also close to the shops we had to go to. The parking lot here is pretty small, but there is a line of parking behind the wall, on the hotel side. The spaces are clearly marked on where you can and cannot park - luckily we found an easy spot and walked in.Since we were having a late lunch, there was no wait to be seated. The hostess lead us to one of the booths and our waitress came by to take our drink orders. After she came back with our drinks and some bread, we needed a couple more minutes to look at the menu, but I think it got really busy because she didnt come back for a long time. When we finally placed our orders, she sped off to go help other tables and ignored us. I wanted a refill on my lemonade and a bit more bread, but we didnt get that until one of the managers brought over our food. The manager actually asked if we wanted more bread and refills on our drinks. I saw that our waitress was helping other tables in our area, but didnt respond when we tried waving her down. Im not too happy about the service here, but I really enjoyed the food, so I only knocked it down by 1 star. Plus, the manager was nice, so Im assuming our waitress was just having a bad day.Crab Cakes. The crab cakes here were delicious. I loved the salad that was served with them as it helped balance out the heaviness of the fried crab cakes. My mom, who typically doesnt eat salad, actually liked the salad too. This was a great appetizer for us to split.Clam Chowder. Cam got a bowl of the clam chowder, which he enjoyed as a lunch by itself. I dont like clam chowder on its own, but with the sourdough bread, it was actually really good. Id probably only get a cup if I were to order it since I didnt really like it as much when it started cooling down.Alaskan Halibut. I opted to get one of the fresh catches of the day grilled, which was Alaskan Halibut. It was perfectly cooked and definitely fresh (it didnt smell fishy at all). We got it with the au gratin potatoes and roasted vegetables. The sides were mediocre, but the fish was perfect. If I ever come here again, I might try different sides. The vegetables seemed more steamed than roasted and the potatoes just werent a great fit with the fish.Overall, The Fish Market was a great lunch. I am definitely a fan of the food that we ate and would come back to try other dishes if in the area again.

Station Sushi
125 N Hwy 101, Solana Beach, CA 92075, United States
Absolutely abysmal service. We placed an order to go online at 4:05. Paid via cc. Confirmation stated food would be ready at 4:50. So we arrive at 4:50 and go to pick up window which doubles as a drive through. Im told food isnt ready, although I see a cucumber salad and teriyaki plate sitting there, which might be part of our order. Ok, we wait. And wait. 25 minutes I ask again. Food not ready. Mind you, half the time no one is working at pick up window, and people, and cars, are piling up waiting. At 5:20, after 30 minutes wait at pickup window, I try to call. I get voice mail with message box is full. After 40 minutes wait, I go in and ask a random waitress to check on order and cancel if its not done. She goes in. A couple minutes later, they call us to window to pick up. Oh, says window waitress looking around, I must have given your teriyaki plate to someone else. Oh, you mean the teriyaki plate sitting there for 40 minutes which is undoubtedly now stone cold and bordering on a health risk? Thats ok, just cancel it. She vaguely says shell refund on computer. We dont get a receipt or anything and she takes off before I can ask. Well see if I get nicked for the $15 item we didnt receive. The food? Sushi was ok, good, but not worth waiting 90 minutes. The cucumber salad was lukewarm and limp, probably from sitting out in a container for 40 minutes. We tossed it. The non-sushi eater went without dinner. There was no offer to remake missing meal (not that we wanted to wait even longer). No offer of a discount or comp. Barely an apology, just we are really busy and oops I must have put your teriyaki into another order. Probably one of my worst take out experiences ever.
