Shanghai Rose
12050 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
2023.09-01/FRI_1500: We originally ordered from Doordash and decided that we should try this place since the Juicy Soup Dumplings were on-point! Glad we were right! There so many great dim sum varieties to choose from. It was extremely difficult. What surprised us was how good every dish we chose turned out. Fresh, hot and their customer service was excellent, too. I would say another great thing was our seating. We were seated outside and it was fantastic! The tables were huge, the decor is elegant. Love it. The staff, everyone was awesome, too. Its on the second level and finding parking would be the only issue. Theres a parking lot but its small and always packed so make sure youre not going there when youre starving to eat something fast!We love how the service works there. After the items were cooked, straight to the table they arrive so its like having a buffet on your table. Everyone who ran the food to us was super nice and our server was awesome, too! We had the best seats in the house because it was outdoor and it was a beautiful day.We had the Juicy Soup Dumplings. We cant get enough of the mouth-watering juices that squirt out from each bite! Love it. I loved the texture of the noodles in their Beef Chow Fun. Another new favorite, the Honey Walnut Shrimp. The shrimp has the perfect crunch and tenderness with the sweet sauce is great. Not too sweet and its savory.Theres one ultimate favorite - the Sweet Sesame Balls. Holy moly. I almost shed a tear and had a flashback of my mom making them and getting so excited to take my first bite after she made them. We couldnt touch them until she cooked at least six of them and of course, after they cooled off a little bit. That absolutely sold me. It was done. Every item we ordered was delicious. We usually cant find a good spot unless you go further into the city. This is down the street (sadly, for me, especially when you wanna watch that figure)! Weve already had Shanghai Rose at least four times this month! Its thise soup dumplings and the Sesame Balls but now their noodles and Honey Walnut Shrimp, you cant live without! Such awesome comfort food for us! Well be back. In fact, Im ordering the Sweet Sesame Balls right now! ✌️#shanghairose #dimsum #dumplings #comfortfood #homesick

Flavor of India Studio City
12321 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
My wife and I have been trying to find a favorite Indian restaurant close-ish to our house to become our regular go to. We tried Flavor of India last night and it was a mixed reviews between the two of us.She always gets Chicken Tikka Masala and she loved it. I usually get Lamb Vindaloo and I was meh about it. It was spicy, but not throughout, if I got a pepper in my forkfull it was really spicy, but otherwise the vindaloo was rather sweet. The flavor didnt develop throughout the entire curry until the next day when I had what was left for lunch. Lastly, Im not sure what is normal with portion size but I only got 6 medium pieces of lamb, if thats normal thats fine, but I was hoping for a bit more lamb. But I really like the Naan she got, it might have been Garlic Naan. The Naan was not too crunchy and not too puffy so it worked perfectly to use as the vehicle to get food off the plate to the mouth. I want to say it was rubbery but understand that its not a negative in the slightest, because it was so glutenous it really held onto the food and flavors of the curry. The portion size was decent. I only picked up the food but I enjoyed what little interaction I got from the staff.Overall would I go here again? YesWould I recommend that people go here? Yes if they like Indian food.Is it my favorite Indian restaurant Ive been to? No, Im still on the journey to find my favorite place.
Burosu ramen
Unit102, 12265 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Was wanting Ramen tonight and our usual in the area had a wait so knowing that there are no shortages for Ramen places around the Studio City area, thought Id give Burosu a try with all the 5 star reviews.I have to say I was extremely pleased with everything. Our waiter (wish I had gotten her name) was super nice, just couldnt have asked for a nicer person to take our order. I got the Reddit (love spicy) and opted for extra noodles as well as their house Hot Sauce which was one of the most unique flavors for a hot sauce Id ever had, really nice, I asked if it was something theyd be willing to bottle to sell by itself cause Id have bought it in a heartbeat but no luck (not yet anyway). They also have a small selection of Sushi/Sashimi and and cold drinks like Boba with some interesting flavor combinations.Waiting in anticipation for our Ramen, took about 10 minutes or so, I regret not taking a picture before digging in. Presentation was great, really well constructed. The first thing that caught my eye was how yellow the noodles were which I love. Digging into it, noodles were just the right firmness, soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked, I knew I had found my new favorite place for Ramen.Broth was excellent, spicy but not overly so to overpower the rest of my palette. I highly recommend Busoru to anyone who has a high appreciation for excellent Ramen thats second to none.
Sushi Dan Studio City

If you want to truly experience this place, you have to come for lunch. I was surprised to see that the rating was so low for here, and after reading some reviews I feel as though people came in with the wrong expectations. So, Im here to give you a game plan for how to love your experience here:Step 1: Come for lunch during the week day to take advantage of their lunch special. The lunch special consists of a specialty roll or a lunch box. My preferred choice is getting the specialty roll because you get free miso soup and 5 pieces of sushi with your order. Best part? You will leave having spent only about $15 including tip and you will be stuffed.Step 2: Order a specialty roll. Although this place has some great sushi pieces, its strong suit is definitely its specialty rolls. The tempura rolls are definitely the way to go. They literally tempura the entire roll, which gives it a whole new perspective because it is warm and crunch and then cooler in the middle. My absolute favorite roll is the Crazy Danny roll which has spicy tuna in it. Also, their eel sauce is amazing.Step 3: Dont come here in a rush. My one negative opinion regarding this place is that the service is kind of lacking. I have at times waited for either my meal or the check for much longer that I thought was necessary. Therefore, if you come here with some time to spare, you will leave a much happier camper. And hey, tip is up to you, so if the server truly was rude, dont leave a tip.
Green Apple China Bistro
12265 Ventura Blvd #112, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Delicious food & sizeable portions. Youll definitely get your fill. I was properly serviced & it was a good experience. The only reason its not 5 stars is because the location at least when I showed up was really slow. There werent many people at the plaza in general at 1pm on a Wednesday but due to that fact the workers were mostly lounging or talking which is normal but a few times they were staring at my direction. Im sure it was them zoning out or seeing if i needed any service but that does make it a bit less comfortable to sit back & eat peacefully. The parking is also falsely advertised for the plaza as it has lettering stating free parking with validation or 30minute parking & payment after but according to both the parking & restaurant staff its a $5 charge. Not that its much but its misleading. There are parking meters on the main street & some alleyways offer temp parking for 2hrs but its not an easy find. Overall great experience.
JINYA Ramen Bar - Studio City
11239 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Decided at the last minute to have noodles for lunch. Googled search and JINYA was the closest to us… Arrived when they opened, which was 11am on a Wednesday morning. No crowds at all. Only one couple seated outside and they were waiting on their food. Took a few minutes to decide what to eat, since I've never been to this particular ramen spot. Their menu is completely different online than the menu you scan at the entrance. What I originally decided on was no longer on their menu.. Waitress helped me decide on a vegan option. She was very nice and patient with me. However; I am rating 1 stars because we waited almost a whole hour for one order. Don't forget; I mentioned we got there when they opened so no crowd at all Several people arrived after me and were seated and their food was served in a timely manner… Very disappointed in the long wait… I thought they had to go out in the backyard and cut the cabbage down or something. The way they took so long for one freaking veggie order… There are other noodle spots around LA I will go to. Don't think I'll be back there. The food was JUST OKAY! Nothing special about it, at all. I was really hoping to get that ‘MMM' taste but it just wasn't there. $19 for small ramen noodles with a small side of white rice & a hand full of cabbage - not sure if that's normal. Not sure if the small portion was do to having a to-go order…But, yeah.
Panda Express

December 25, 2023 I stood and waited for the person to take my order, after 15 minutes a man came up and started asking what I wanted to order, I told him show mein, the girl next to me who was packing the orders began to quickly collect the show mein completely, the man said wait another 10 minutes, I said that I was already standing for 15 minutes, why did she decide to serve the online order in the first place, to which she rudely told me “others placed the order first,” although I stood for a long time and waited for her to come. In the end, I didn't argue, I just left. Today, February 22, 2024, I came to this establishment again. A girl (Bethany, it seems the same woman from December) took my order and punched a plate instead of a bowl, I asked to change it to a bowl, she called the manager and he did everything quickly, I stood there waiting for my order for 15 minutes. She served all the people who stood behind me, and didn't want to prepare my order. I ask her to call the manager in a calm tone, she says “call him yourself.” A woman runs up to me, I explain this situation, she offered to quickly make food and give it to me, I asked just to return the money, a second manager comes, I explain the situation to him, he calls another manager, and after 30 minutes of wasted time, they returned the money to me, and when This is also the wrong amount. I was robbed and rude. I ask you to fire her, I hope I wrote her name correctly, otherwise I will appeal to other authorities. And stealing money from visitors is a shame.
Yume Sushi Bar
12254 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
A perfect place to celebrate a good friends birthday and being able to go out again since the pandemic. We reserved our outside table but they also have inside seating. They have the code for a touchless menu and you must wear a mask until you are eating. We slow rolled our orders so we could savor each bote as well as enjoy in person interaction. Virtual calls can only do so much. Started out with some hot sake Suijin I believe and shishito peppers. The bonito flakes on top give it extra flavor. We then went truffle crazy on our sashimi salmon and halibut. Enough portions for the 4 of us to enjoy the quality and freshness while leaving us hungry and curious for the miso cod. Oh my! Its cooked and before I could even comprehend what was happening to my taste buds I had ordered another. Next was toro sushi that needed nothing in a addition to the rice, toro, and light green sauce that comes with it. The dream roll was so light with a citrus introduction and a spicy finish. A dab of wasabi did the trick on the second bite. The baked crab earned a second order. The company made the evening but the food definitely set the scene. Had a great night out and I would highly recommend eating here. It is pricey for our taste but a special occasion made it worth every penny.
Shiki Sushi
12745 A Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
They DO NOT care about their patrons and will OVERCHARGE and not refund you!!! We've been coming to this place for couple months even though we live about 35-40 mins away because the food has been great. However, that all changed yesterday. We ordered our usual the 2 items bento box and was charged the dinner price, even though it was still lunch time. The packaging of the bento was horrendous with the miso soup and tempura dipping sauce ending up spilling everywhere in the bag and stained our car seat. They only gave us half of a container of rice which is fine but still inconsistent. We also ordered 2 orders of our favorite - the salmon chunk roll, only to find the chopped scallion they put on top was spoiled and the salmon consistency was mushy and did not taste fresh. I contacted the establishment as soon as we got home and was told the manager was at lunch and will return in about 2 hrs and will return my call then, that did not happen. Called again today and was told that the manager will be there around noon or 2pm and to try calling then. Just called at the specified time and on the third try someone finally answered and guess what? The manager will not be in today at all (clearly avoiding). Honestly, I could careless about the 4 dollars they overcharged but on principle, it is absolutely ridiculous how they're treating their patrons. Not only do they obviously not care what their customers think, they are actively avoiding to make amends for their mistakes.
