My favorite local Asian restaurant
Panda Express
350 Tucker Rd, Tehachapi, CA 93561, United States
The food here is absolutely terrible quality and quantity compared to other Panda Express locations. The food is undercooked, extremely greasy and tastes like they don't properly clean their equipment. Additionally, for the exorbitant prices, it's a bit irritating when you order something with veggies in the mix, this seems to give the manager/operator of this franchise motivation to severely undercut the customer on the product. Our orange chicken was soggy, and undercooked, giving it a sharp vinegar taste and a texture like a wad of snot. We also had an order of Broccoli Beef, and the Pepper Chicken in a family meal. We dumped the whole container onto a plate, and out of the entire carton there was 5 pinky nail size bits of beef in the entire carton, the chicken was similar with several nail size little pebbles of what seems like scrapings of chicken from a shredder mixed in with a heavy amount of undercooked greasy peppers and onions. To add to that frustration given the cost of these menu items, the cartons weren't even filled properly barely making it 3/4ths full. The only two cartons to be filled were the chow mein, and white rice. Both undercooked as well, making them difficult or just downright disgusting to consume. No utensils, no sauces, no napkins (even though they were requested.) but hey you gave us 15 fortune cookies so that makes up for it right? For the price it costs to eat out, you kinda expect there to be some value in it, and if I'm getting a container filled with mostly vegetables, alright I'll accept the universe telling me to eat healthier, but I also expect to pay closer to the cost of those vegetables, not a premium price. Yes, we are paying for preparation, which means it should be prepared properly, and it's also expected that a product with a Beef or Chicken in its name and the associated costs attached to them, actually contains those items. I strongly urge corporate to throughly investigate this location, and customers to demand better. This location is a disappointing representation of what makes Panda Express normally a great experience.

The lady on the phone was so rude and made me feel so uncomfortable that I couldn't even go to the restaurant to pick up the food. The spicy chicken sandwich isn't actually spicy— they just add spicy mayo which is cheaping out in my opinion. I have no idea why this place has such good reviews when they're so rude for literally no reason. They're also the type of restaurant that won't accommodate to the way you want your meal and almost berate you for it, which is a no go for picky eaters like me. Picky eaters find the right restaurant and stick to it and are loyal to it. Way to push away future customers ?? customer service is just as important as the quality of the food, something this restaurant clearly doesn't understand.
Thai Hachapi
117 E F St, Tehachapi, CA 93561, United States
Not worth it, it was VERY slow we were waiting for a tiny soup for 1 hour the moment we were about to pay just for the drinks and leave they started giving all of the food we ordered to our table rushed, basically it was sitting there for an hour for some reason, so they will leave your food to be sitting and you have to wait till they feel like it to give you the food, we were waiting for napkins like 10 minutes never got our napkins so I went to the bathroom and took paper for us, we never got forks either and we had to ask for refill a couple times without them doing it by heart, the waitress slam the cup of water all mad with attitude and we also had to ask for condiments that were in all tables except ours, very rude EXTREMELY slow the food was good but with the attitude and the service I wont doubt they put boogers or luggie in the food, hopefully no one gets food poisoning and such.
Perfetto Italian Restaurant
209 S Green St, Tehachapi, CA 93561, United States
?Vibe is so important! Perfetto's Italian Bistro above all had true hospitality, kindness and the welcoming spirit. The chef actually came to my table we spoke for a moment about the fresh homemade pasta and the dash of clam she adds to one of her dishes for that truly unique flavor. The lentil noodle soup you'll see in the photo attached was a sensory delight. Seriously considered ordering another bowl being that I may never travel by this way again. The Pasta Primavera entrée was well worth pushing through the gluttony of going for two bowls of soup. Homemade pasta, garden grown veggies sautéed and I light wine sauce had me stuffed to the gills licking the plate it was so delicious? Hard to believe I topped it all off with tiramisu, it's not often you find genuine homemade Italian food crafted with love and passion. That said you can imagine how good the tiramisu was. This restaurant was so laid-back, small town, easy-going, chill - do yourself a favor get off the highway and drop into a meaningful meal at Perfetto's✨?⭐️?
Redhouse BBQ
426 E Tehachapi Blvd, Tehachapi, CA 93561, United States
Ordered a full rack of ribs for $29. I asked how the soda refills work and the cashier told us they will come to the table and do our refills . Order came to the table and it was half a rack. I asked the young gentleman that brought the food if that was their version of a full rack and he said yes. A few minutes later he came back with another half of a rack and said the girl that took the order Thought I ordered a half a rack. This was a lie because I was charged correctly... If I didnt say anything I would have received $15 worth of a $30 order. They either just didnt bring out the food or they are trying to withhold ribs to save money. The ribs were extremely dry and salty....like salted jerky on a bone. There was no smoke flavor and they were cold. They likely finished a long time ago and were just sitting around. I got the mac and cheese and chili for sides. The chili wasnt bad but the mac and cheese was also cold. The server came to our table once before our food arrived to refill our drinks but after our food arrived they never came back after that. They had five people working behind the counter and apparently nobody for the tables. Even if the service was great and I received the food I paid for...the food quality wasnt very good at all. When youve had really good barbecue you just know what its supposed to taste like and this definitely isnt it. I will not be back. If you decide to eat here, make sure youre getting all your food, You paid for it.
P-Dubs Brew Pub
20800 Santa Lucia St, Tehachapi, CA 93561, United States
You'll find this restaurant at a corner next to some buildings where customers park their cars and lead their families into the establishment for barbecue, deli sandwich, specialties, and other delicious items. Plenty of items can be observed from the menu as well as from a server's presentation of goods. Smiles go around, people almost dance to the music, and televisions under the roof blare out with sports updates and cross references to country music. People gather around inside and, to tell you the truth, the place looks really fantastic when lights are on and sports memorabilia can be seen during the meals taken or forgotten, or both. Lots of items are well-prepared standards while other items such as the fish tacos or the pulled-pork sliders make me enjoy the secrecy founded on so many recipes. The pulled pork is chewy, delicious, and is provided for on the basis of cooking with carefree attitudes on the part of the workers, who might as well sit by and take things at a glance for what's presented, and defined, in restaurant meal-taking. Particulars to note at this “bar” include the appetizers which, in some cases, are just as good as meals unless you can bring somebody over for sharing. Sandwiches are served with a good variety of sides to choose from. I like it when I take a big bite out of a burger while watching Dodgers SportsNet from the back towards the kitchen. Every meal can be finished off with some mint chocolate made to order from a green wrapper and the small, little treat smells wonderful while going outside to finish packing. Country music itself lends plenty of favor as I go across the dining lobby to meet with my parents who've travelled for so long to arrive around this spot. My brothers have been here too although I'm sure I eat some strange stuff compared to what dishes they're used to for light, brisk fare. Drink selections are remarkable as long as you remember to look them up from appropriate sections like the menu, the wall with the chalkboard, and even asking an employee for the tabs isn't a lame thing at all; my family has just been having crazy fun at this place because it reminds us of Santino's in Ventura- it's a similar bar restaurant with lots of TVs and food or entertainment. While barbecue dishes themselves get to be tasty on a high mark you'll also find variety in choice goods where the server can either please the greeting or march off around tables and even towards the kitchen's inside settings. There's lots of food and entertainment here and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Midori Sushi
498 W Tehachapi Blvd #456, Tehachapi, CA 93561, United States
To say it was a terrible experience would be an understatement. I crashed in on my mother and her friend having lunch. They had ordered edemame, a sunset roll to split and some mochi ice cream. I got there an hour after they ordered and all they had was the mochi ice cream. Shorty after I arrived they finally received their roll (just the roll no plates, no bowl) I ordered a second roll for myself. We then waited another 40 minutes before we decided to go to a different sushi restaurant. When we told them to cancel the rest because we just wanted to get going the waitress went and told the guy at the sushi counter and he literally yelled across the restaurant Its almost ready. The overall experience was terrible, the waitress and the lady at the register were pretty rude to everyone who walked in the entire time and then the sunset roll looked like rice and avacado had be mushed into a deformed guacamole before being served. ? I wont go back and wont recommend this place.
