Golden China Restaurant

If it were possible to give negative stars I would. I seen this place while shopping at save mart and I decided to go in. First of all the place is very run down and, the woman that seated me was rude beyond belief. I almost had to snap my fingers to get attention. When she seated me, she tossed the menu on the table like I was an enemy from high school. I overlooked that. Then she brought me a glass of tap water with very little ice in it. I finally ordered the pork lo-main. It was Luke warm just like the tap water and tasted pretty much like a microwaveable frozen dinner from the supermarket. Before I could finish it, I went to the rest room. I couldnt believe what I seen. There were roaches crawling in the trashcan and a few on the cracks on the ceiling. I was so disgusted I suggested to the woman (I think it was the owner) that she should consider closing this restaurant due to health reasons. She was, just like her waitress, very rude and told me to take my business elsewhere. I will call the board of health. But, in the meantime, buyer beware.
Samurai Sushi

First off, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If this review comes off as negative, its because of the dishware and not the staff. The staff were excellent. On to the food. I asked what kind of tea was offered, and was told, hot green tea. Imagine going into an American restaurant and asking about their soda selection, and being told cold sodas, or a French restaurant with chilled wine. It is just not particularly useful to know when considering food pairings. Is it a sencha? Genmaicha? Jasmine?I didnt try the sushi, but ordered a bowl of udon. Flavor and composition-wise, I prefer my own homemade udon, being from an Asian background myself. But thats not important, I ordered the chefs udon, and that was his udon. I didnt order my udon. My problem was with the bowl. The edge of the bowl was slanted. Its hard to explain, and Ive never seen anything like it, so I included a picture. Now, go and Google slanted bowl. Do you see any pictures of the bowl containing soup? No. Because its not a bowl you serve soup in. And again, the bowl is slanted. Where do you rest your chopsticks when youre not using them? The chopstick rest, which wasnt available at the restaurant. Otherwise, across the dish/bowl with your food. Except the bowl is slanted, so the chopsticks roll right off. Where am I supposed to be resting my chopsticks?Seating was honestly fine, it wasnt a large area, but there was some single seats up front and a few larger tables. Its about what Id expect from the establishment.
Panda Express

My daughter got food poisoning after eating shrimp here. On top of that, they dont even give you a chance to order. The guy who took my familys rushed through ours. I couldnt even decide. It was the first time my little one got to eat here and he wasnt sure and I asked a couple of questions, particularly how spicy something was, to which he said it wasnt spicy at all and my son struggled the whole meal and couldnt eat it. Then, as I mentioned right off the bat, my daughter was extremely sick for 3 days with food poisoning, throwing up, severe stomach pain, and dehydration, all because of their stupid shrimp And yes, it was Panda Express who caused the food poisoning. I have no doubt about that. It didnt surprise me when they put fresh cooked food on top of the old food. They had someone spraying and cleaning over the food and wiping around the open food areas with chemicals. They had a completely filthy sticky drink station, which also did not work. Soda was over sweet (lacks carbonation), and there was no ice. They also kept their bathrooms locked while the restaurant was open. So stupid. I spent a lot of money at this place for my daughter to be miserable and sick and my son to not even get to enjoy the food he was looking forward to. Food poisoning isnt a joke. Not in adults and especially not in children.

I thought of my peoples food so I decided to dine in at Chog Cuisine and the service was unsatisfied and weird. The owner said hi and greet all others except us regardless if he came out from the back after we were already inside. Maybe because of my ethnicity? but anyhow. I ordered 2 bowl of pho and papaya salad with chow mien to go. I couldnt finish the pho due to bad taste because of unsatisfying service. I felt like they gave us pho in hoping that we dont know what is supposed to be the side dishes because we had to ask for the stuff that was supposed to come with the pho over and over, who likes to do that? Plus you work here you should know better then to wait for us to ask. Im sorry if you guys were busy, so was I. My wife almost left a 20 five dollar tip but I added tip tax with the tip and the amount was the same. Papaya was a little above sweet but the taste was good enough for me. Chow mein was on avarge good. I do not recommend eating pho here if you like your pho to taste like how you wish.

Usually I would rate this place higher, but Im basing this solely on my visit a couple of nights ago. My niece and I arrived and were seated at the only table left, the place was pretty packed. We placed our drink order...water and hot tea. The tea smelled and tasted like SEASEME SEEDS. WTH. Totally disgusting. We placed an order for the cucumber salad appetizer, and each one of us got a roll. The cucumber salad came and it was FOUR slices of cucumber. The rest was seaweed, and some rice noodles in what tasted like Miso soup. Absolutely horrible. We couldnt eat it. The rolls came and the flavor was good but they werent cut properly. Most of my pieces werent cut all the way thru, so everything fell apart while trying to separate them. Some pieces were cut too thin, while others were too big. The sushi chefs were really young (they looked to be about 12 years old lol) and clearly inexperienced. Im sure the presentation will improve with practice. Flavor wise, the rolls were good, but they were really hard to each with chopsticks as everything fell apart while trying to separate the pieces. It looked like a child had been sitting at my seat making a mess. Ill go back, but Ill never order tea or the cucumber salad ever again. I hope someone that has the ability to make some changes at this establishment reads this post...they need some work.
Sunrise Inn Hotel and Food Plaza

This is the best inn Ive ever stayed in. Maggie does an amazing job here!My boyfriend and I had just finished a backpacking trip in Yosemite were looking for a place to stay on our way to San Fransisco. We stopped by a few motels that were either full, too expensive, or dirty. We didnt have too high of expectations but also didnt want roaches or mold.We called Sunrise Inn on the road and they had an opening for an amazing price so we decided to check it out. We showed up around 9Pm and asked to see the room before deciding to stay. The front desk staff happily walked us to the room and the room was so much better than anything we had looked at that night.Signing in was easy and there were plenty of places to park. There is also a security guard on duty in the parking lot.The room and bathroom were extremely clean and had fresh towels and soaps. The shower had good pressure as well. There were hardwood floors, a TV, and wall AC unit that cooled the room almost immediately. There was also a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. The bed was so comfortable! The mattress was firm and there was some soft of foam topper similar to the kind on our own bed at home.Wifi and breakfast are included in the stay. The wifi connection wasnt great, but we didnt really need to use our phones so it didnt matter. Breakfast was a delightful surprise. The staff makes Belgian style waffles and crepes (banana, peach, or Nutella). We got a waffle and a banana crepe and each were filling and delicious. Coffee, tea, toasts, bagels, and cereals were also available. Maggie was very sweet and came to say hello and make sure the stay was enjoyable. There is also a very nice grassy outdoor seating area that would be great for relaxing outside or bringing your pet.

We got seated quickly because it was almost empty. One lady was really nice and polite while our main waitress was passively rude. The music was literally one track that endlessly repeated. The food was disgusting and unpresentable. The hot and sour soup was way too peppery for us to enjoy the taste. There was no beef in our tomato beef chow mein and there was too much sauce for its own good. The sweet and sour shrimp also had too much sauce and batter and heavily dehydrated us. Some reviews said this restaurant is the best in the area. We were just passing by the area, never having visited here before, so we can only imagine how terrible the other Asian cuisines are. If you are looking for an authentic Asian cuisine, this is NOT the place to go.

Terracotta Poke Restaurant

Passed by Turlock and craving for some Poke and found this place. The fish is really fresh and I never seen cilantro on poke so I gave it a try and it turned out to be super good. What really surprised us was the fried rice. It was sooo good! I ate the whole poke bowl and then a bowl of fried rice it's crazy ?. Guess new years weight management will need to start later lol.

Great food and drinks, but services could have been better. The customer ahead of us was giving the workers a hard time refusing a drink after the workers had already made her drink, therefore pushing other orders behind. If this happened, that customer should wait for her turn again, and the workers should start on other orders. It only makes sure since she is ordering another drinking after all the others order. Yet the workers helped her first, and we waited for at least 20 mins for 4 drinks to go and we didnt even get straws. -_-... if you dont know what youre ordering, dont order it and waste their time and resource and others waiting for their. Ask for a tasting first, at least.
