Sumo Asian Buffet And Grill
21610 Victory Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91367, United States
I give this place a 3 stars for the food it was good ?. But for the service it was definitely a 1. From the moment we walked in the girl that sat us down was rude. We asked if we could have a table not a booth she answered I already know. Idk how she knew we never told her. When my husband asked her for a large water, she responded rudely we only have 1 size. I then asked where is the restroom. She turned around and said over there I had to figure out where over there was. Then my husband and I went to the cook frying the meat n veggies and he was having an attitude. This was our 1st time at this restaurant we dont know the system there and this cook was not friendly or helpful. Then we had to ask the waiter bussing the tables could he please take our plates bcuz they were piling up and if we could get my son a refill on his soda and another water that seemed to bother him. He never did bring my husbands water. ? . And then to complete our experience there the people sitting across from us were allowed to bring in their dog. Dont get me wrong Im a dog lover! But I dont think the middle of the restaurant was the best place to accommodate the dog. Im sorry to say Ive never experienced bad service from most of the restaurant staff. I can count only 2 employees at this restaurant who were very polite food is good but we wont be back ?
Kabuki Japanese Restaurant
20940 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
We have been going to Kabuki for many years. The food has always been good and until recently the wait staff were sweet and attentive. The young male waiters are wonderful and our Friday waitress is not only beautiful but respectful and sweet.Lately we have been going for lunch two to three times a week. We order virtually the same items every time unless we bring another guest. Each time the food has been good.Every time we go the one waitress scowls at us, NEVER a smile or greeting and we are told we cant sit in our usual booth because they have a split shift. We are older and we enjoy sitting where we are comfortable but because we insisted, we became the subject of rudeness and abuse. The waitress decided she wouldnt serve us although she seated others and served them. She sent the other waitress over.I believe this was on Monday. I ordered the Teryaki beef lunch and said very clearly NO teryaki on the meat. We got our order but for the first time ever the meat was inedible. I asked the waitress to please replace it. I was apologeticand spoke nicely to her. She brought me the replacement beef covered in Teryaki. So again nicely I asked her to bring me the beef without the teryaki. She huffed and puffed but got it replaced and I said thank you.Never thought anymore about it.The following week we arranged to take a friend to Kabuki for lunch. The wait staff refused to serve us and the manager was just as bad. We walked out with our guest. Everytime we went there they acted like they were doing us a favor. Disgusting way to treat regular. elderly customers. We are regulars at Hikari and Cho Cho San where we are greeted with smiles and respect. You need to train your staff how to treat customers As long as you have the same lunch staff we will take our regular business elsewhere. We dont need to spend our money and be treated like garbage.Ps your restaurant looks old, shabbyand tired. Time to renovate.
P.F. Changs
21821 W Oxnard St, Woodland Hills, CA 91367, United States
This place has a great menu. Whether youre into the veggie thing or beef and chicken and seafood, the best Asian Cuisine for a chain restaurant. Weve been to the one in Las Vegas, Woodland Hills, California and Miami, and theyve all been consistently great. Happy hour is the best time to go. you can pretty much stuff yourself with a few appetizers and a couple of glasses of delicious wine. they do have a great wine list. And every time weve gone there, the servers have been super friendly and always serving you in a timely manner.
Shalimar Cuisine of India Inc
23011 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
We were on a roadtrip on Pacific Coast Highway during Christmas break and couldn't find a place to dine. Finally, we found this place, and it was an unforgettable experience. The chefs choice dinners were a culinary delight. We tried the Lamb Karahi, Lamb Balti, and Chicken Tikka Makhani. These dishes were bursts of flavors, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their portions were generous, complemented by both naan and rice, which made the meals fulfilling. The soup was decent, but the real treat came with the desserts. We had a choice between rice pudding and Gulab Jamun, both of which were delicious. We ordered extra Garlic Naan and Butter Naan for an additional cost, but it was worth it considering the size of the main portions. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, with intelligent use of lighting and mirrors creating an illusion of more space. As a tall person, I found the seating area a bit cramped and the tables small for the amount of food we ordered, but this didnt detract significantly from the overall positive experience. The service was quiet yet friendly, and the chefs personal interaction was a nice touch, adding warmth to our visit.Overall, Id rate Shalimar Woodland Hills a strong 4.7 to 4.8 out of 5. Its a fantastic spot for authentic Indian cuisine, and Id definitely recommend it to others looking for quality meals in a pleasant setting.
Panda Express
1/2, 20040 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
Panda Express advertises a 10% senior discount on their corporate website. Twice I was refused by a very rude employee, AMY. I visit this restaurant once a week. When she is not working, the 10% is not a problem with other employees. Tonight, I ordered my meal and was waiting on shrimp that was not ready. While I waited I saw AMY go over to another employee standing near the register and whisper something to him. He looked up over the register at me. When my order was ready, the employee Lynn called me over to a register that was not being used and out of the regular line to pay. I asked for my 10% senior discount. He refused. It was clear that she had told him to refuse me the discount. I told him that I come in every week and always get it. AMY then re-appeared and told me NO. She said it is given out of common courtesy and she refused because of my previous experience with her. My previous experience was asking for my senior discount and informed her of your policy. She still said NO. I asked her if she was the manager and she said she was training and that the manager was on break and would not be back for 30 minutes. I left. Without my food.My issue is not so much about the food as is with this employee. I contacted Panda Express corporate the last time this happened and they told me that the senior discount was in effect. I guess the fish rots from the head down and if this is an employee, AMY, that is being trained for management, then your business is in trouble. You really need to take your reviews seriously. The way I was treated last time and tonight is no way a senior wants to be treated. Shame on you if you continue to employ her. I wont eat there again because I dont deserve the feeling that I had when I walked out of there. p.s. The discount would have been about $1.50. What kind of employee would be so insulting?
Safir Mediterranean
19940 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
Yesterday was my first and definitely the last time at Safir restaurant. We had a reservation for a group of fifteen, but the whole experience was a disaster. As we arrived, the manager had the audacity to blame us for not answering the phone when they had actually written down the wrong number. Talk about frustrating!Theres this waiter, Mehrdad, who seemed to have a permanent frown on his face. He flat-out refused to take our orders multiple times until we had to beg the manager, Mr. Barani, to intervene. It was like pulling teeth to get him to finally jot down our orders. An agonizing hour later, our food finally appeared, but it was a circus. Half of our group got served first, and the rest had to twiddle their thumbs for an additional 20 minutes. And the cherry on top? They messed up orders left and right, bringing us food we didnt even ask for.Fed up, I confronted the manager about the chaos. What I got in return was mind-boggling. He had the nerve to put the blame on us, saying our order sequence was the problem, and he actually had the audacity to claim they did everything perfectly. To make matters worse, the restaurant was so noisy that we could barely hear ourselves think, let alone have a decent conversation with our guests. Suffice it to say, everyone was beyond annoyed with the terrible service and atmosphere. This entire experience was an absolute nightmare, and I wont stand by while others waste their time and money at Safir restaurant. They need a reality check and some serious improvement before anyone should even consider giving them business.
Wokcano
6320 CA-27 #1690, Woodland Hills, CA 91367, United States
Staff is great and service was very good, but unfortunately this restaurant didnt have what I was looking for. I was expecting fresh, wholesome ingredients and flavors that mixed in all sorts of pan-asian combinations but instead it was really just semi-inspired food one could also find at a P.F. Changs. I also ordered a drink from the bar and I found similar themes with their cocktails- only mildly inventive with very basic combinations and the flavors left you with a sense pre-made, sugary additives to help make up for the lack of refined ingredients. I also burnt my hand in the restroom(which is partially my fault). When I turned on the hot water, it was SCALDING instantly. Great water heater I guess.
Thai Chaba
23305 Mulholland Dr, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
A decent enough place to Thai one on. The service comes with the bland affect found in so many Thai restaurants, as if the ownership and staff have other things to do besides deal with the customer. The food is traditional and while not inspired, is certainly satisfying and consistent. Chicken satay and pad see eu are my stand bys here. Parking easy and free and thats a plus in Calabasas. My favorite Little Siam is in West Hills but about 4.5 miles from here, so if you are in Calabasas this is certainly a worthwhile selection, and in an exterior mall that allows for many activities of daily life such as a CVS, FedEx Office, a dentist, a chiropractor, a bank, get food, etc that you can serial task and end the night with dinner.
New Light & Healthy Sushi Bar
19817 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
Never a dull experience at Light & Healthy Sushi. I highly recommend any and all sushi lovers to try Light & Healthy! This spot has been around since the 80s (rightfully so) and is my go to AYCE sushi spot. I live in Van Nuys and choose to drive over here to enjoy the fresh, delicious sushi and great customer service, even though there are other sushi spots near my home (including Midori).Located on Ventura Blvd. just west of Corbin Ave., Light & Healthy has a private parking lot with ample parking space, and additional street parking available as well. The restaurant is pretty large with about 20 seats at the sushi bar and several booths/tables in the dining area. AYCE is only available at the bar, costing $25.95 during lunch hours and $29.95 during dinner. AYCE and a la carte menu prices are relatively comparable to most sushi restaurants. The bar area also has 3 TVs that usually play the relevant sporting or entertainment events going on at the time. There are usually 3 chefs manning the sushi bar. One of the things I enjoy most is the level of hospitality and personalization the crew provides every time I visit Light & Healthy. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel welcome as if you were their favorite customer. The chefs actually talk and interact with you, building rapport, offering recommendations and insight on the menu. A few times I have been offered off-the-menu items that the chefs were creating using their own recipe (ask Chef Justin for his Spicy Scallop Special hand roll!). I have had the pleasure of being served by most, if not all, the chefs there (Brian, Henry, Justin and Lee who is actually the owner) and have always had a great experience. Their sushi is fresh and portions are very generous. I always pair my sushi with the green mussels and quail egg shooters. Perfect way to start and end my AYCE experience!Of course when doing AYCE you may have to wait as the chefs are also catering to the a la carte crowd as well as other ACYE customers at the bar, but I have never had an unreasonable wait or delay during my meal here. Ill always choose Light & Healthy to fulfill my AYCE sushi needs.
Red Ginger
22984 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
I could take it or leave it. Probably leave it???I came in for lunch. The service is great! 1 guy doing waiter/bus boy duties because of Covid. And hes ontop of it all.BUT.... The food... meh. Heres why...The sushi... WAAAY TOO EXPENSIVE, and not my style. Everything was warm, Like A peculiar kind of room temperature warm. We got a California roll and a Eel Avocado cut roll just to try. Meh. Both were nothing special. 6 pieces each. I didnt taste the eel at all, and it got drowned in mush by the Avocado. The California roll wasnt all that. Honestly, the ones you buy prepacked at the supermarkets are better. No joke.Pad Thai noodle was ok. A little too much sugar/sweet for my taste. A kid might like it though?Sizzling chicken dish was Sizzling when they bring it out. Its ok, has a Curry flavor. Theres no mention of the Curry on the menu. If I would have known, I never would have ordered it. The whole dish seemed a little mushy. As a matter of fact, the whole experience today seemed a little mushy. Most of the lights were on, but the place felt very under lit. When you walk in the door, I just felt like the whole place needed a shower.I remember this place being okay before the pandemic. Maybe Ill wait another year and then come back and try to review it again.
