Noodology - Chino Hills

Because the taste is pretty good, I come here quite often, but when I met this waiter today, I really couldn't praise her. The last time I met her for internal use, she was so angry that she wanted to forget it was just Togo. Today, the store only has I was waiting at the counter for a long time with two tables of customers, and she suddenly said that it will take a long time for me to order for you, so you can scan the QR code and order it yourself! I had no choice but to scan the QR code and order the food myself. After ordering, I didn't want to see the stinky-faced waiter, so I went outside to wait. After waiting for a long time, I came in and saw that the food was already ready without notice. When I took it home, I was even more angry. There was no brown sugar glutinous rice cake. It came with sugar water and peanut powder, and the soup noodles were not sealed and all spilled out. Im really speechless. If you dont want to do business, you dont have to open the door! Why bother to be inferior to yourself?
BD Cafe

Delicious food, but service could be better. Went there for lunch with my daughter there. She ordered pop corn chicken bento (delicious) and I ordered a BD pork chop bento, which tasted great, although the pork chop is way too salty (and I like salty food). The side orders on both bento were all very delicious and the drinks we ordered were good as well. My problem is with service. My daughters pop corn chicken be to came out within 4 minutes, but I had to wait like 20+ minutes before the serve my pork chop bento, which by that time, my daughter already finished her lunch. I also ordered 2 pork chop bento to go, at the same time when I ordered our food. However, when Im ready to pay, turns out they forgot to put in my to go order and they told me its 10minutes to cook the to go order. By the time I got the to go food, it was close to 20 minutes. So Im only giving 3 stars for the food and drinks.

I've tried getting boba here multiple times and every single time they're closed over 2 hours early. So I come here a 7:30pm-8ish and they're already closed but they claim to be open till 9:30pm on their website. One time I walked up and a guy that worked there gave me a weird stare and then went back in and started eating his food with his coworkers even though THEYRE SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN. I've had it with this place and I highly highly recommend trying any other boba shop. Go to Tastea or it's boba time. They're super good and have a grade A.
Tasty Noodle House
2947 Chino Ave #3, Chino Hills, CA 91709, United States
UPDATE: 12-09-19 Returned Visit. The fish soup is commendable. The Stir Friend Rice Cake with pork is very good. I paid $2 for extra pork. The Stir fried Noodle with Shrreded Beef adding $2 for extra meat is very very unsafistying, a big plate of noodles with less than 3 oz. of Beef and lil bit of cabbage, and it taste awfully plane. I wouldnt suggest any stir fried noodle plates. It is typical of old fashioned Chinese restaurant, they are very stingy on meats.UPDATE 8-17-19 Return Visit.Up grade to 4 Stars. tried the Fish Soup and Shanghai Chow Mien. The Fish Soup is commendable, a little less fish than desired but it was good and tasty. The Chow Mien is just noodles and Vegas, with very little pork, same as the stir Fried Rice Cake I ordered last time. So, Ill giveFish Soup 5 StarsStir-Fried Rice Cake 4 StarsStir-Fried Shanghai Noodle 3 Stars.8-14-19: First Time try out, one of the few restaurants that caters Shanghai Cuisine, my whole impression is nothing stands out, just a typical small Chinese Restaurant. The ambience seems pleasant, open, airy with large windows, but not much decors, but they do have a large and clean restroom. Staffs are friendly and services are good and prompt.I ordered their Stir Fried Rice Cake with Pork and Shanghai Vege, Iced Water. As shown in photo, there is a plateful of Rice Cakes but very little TINY SLICED Pork, probably at the most 2 oz. of pork in the whole plate. Also, There is not enough Shanghai Vegetable (A specie of dandelion) to give that special taste this plate is known for.Since there is not many Shanghai Restaurant around the Chino Hills area, I will come back to try other plates

I consider myself to be a very tolerant person~ But today I couldn’t complain, so I came to Google to search for reviews of this store, which made me angry? How outrageous is this restaurant? The service and taste are below average, and the price is not cheap either. When checking out, you have to ask for cash. If it’s non-cash, you have to pay more. (When you hear this sentence, you will immediately understand the meaning behind it. ) After I gave the cash, I asked loudly for a tip [smile] In the end, I spent the same amount as if I swiped the card [cracked] Let’s just leave it at that ?! The previous collaboration between brothers and sisters was just an act. Now that the harvest time has come, why don’t you just pretend? The delicious and cheap Chinese noodle restaurants I have eaten in before are not like yours. I was stunned at the time. I didn’t argue because I felt it was not worth it and we would never meet again in the future.I have learned the tip culture (a scam) very well. It’s not that I hate you making money, it’s natural to earn legal remuneration for your hard work, but I hate this kind of greedy face!If I had known this in advance, I would never have stepped into this store. Fellow compatriots, please be careful before entering the store!

YGF Malatang

Update: we've returned and the meat selections looked and tasted a lot better than our last visit. Maybe we just caught a wrong day for beef and lamb. I also tried the fish and it was pretty good. The intestines were really good today. We even tried the beef skewers and they were okay. This is a popular place for spicy Szechuan specialty food. Malatang literally means numbing & spicy scalding hot. As you can see from its name, this is not a place for faint of heart. You pick the ingredients from a salad bar styled counter and then the staff would weigh it. It's $13.99 per pound. Then they will cook it for you in your choice of soup base: classic spicy peppery flavor (Ma-la or black pepper and red pepper/ medium to very spicy), beef bone broth (mild to medium spiciness) and tomato based non/spicy flavor. The vegetable selections were fresh and lots of variety, the beef and lamb options were not very good as they were pretty tough to chew. The pork intestines were fine, but not great. The meatballs and fish cakes were pretty good. The beef and lamb slices were below average and only a few pieces left when we visited, so not sure if the meat is always like that or we just csme in late for lunch and they ran out the good stuff. So, a 5-star for the veggies and a 3-star for the meat. We didn't try the fish filets, but will do so on our next visit. The service was very friendly and excellent, though we did have to wait a while due to several Uber orders they had to take care of first. This is a good option for fresh spicy food and we no longer have to drive to Rowland Heights for malatang. Note: be aware of 5-star ratings here as it offers free drinks for 5-star reviews, I am quite weary of this type of reviews as think that would affect the veracity of the reviews. Also, in general you won't find the non-spicy option at a malatang restaurant, but here in Chino Hills a non-spicy option was created for the gringo crowd. It's worth a try if you've never had malatang or just tang if you don't like spiciness or numbness from your food.
Uminoya Ramen
5420 Philadelphia St c, Chino, CA 91710, United States
Im sorry, but I have no idea why this place was rated 4.9 stars on Google. We came on a Wednesday night for the first time with a party of 4, including 2 kids at about 7 p.m.We went up to order our ramen dishes and a pork fried rice dish, but we were told not to order the fried rice because it would take much longer than the ramen, so we did not get to buy it even though we wanted it. They said that because there was no indoor seating available, it was takeout only, and it would be about 15 min to be ready. Fine, we dont live far, so it was no big deal. We ended up waiting 60 minutes for our food with exceedingly cranky and hungry kids. And while we were waiting for our food, 7 parties came, ordered their food, got their food, and had left!Prepare to end up waiting a very long time for your food with no apologies and a very upsetting experience.
House of Fortune Vegan Cuisine - Chino

Update 04/2024: updating review to reflect recent experiences. Changing review from 3-stars to 1-star. We have continued to visit this restaurant simply because the food had been good (not consistent though) and it's hard to find fully vegan places. However, I don't know what has changed but in the last year or more we have noticed the amount of oil used in dishes has gone up quite significantly. One of the reasons we chose this place over others is because the food used to not be as oily as some similar style restaurants. Our last takeout visit had pretty much confirmed that the quality of food had gone down and the prices are still just as expensive, if not more. The amount of oil in our various dishes we got was staggering. The oil was so thick you could taste it coating your mouth as we ate it. When we looked at the bottom and sides of the dishes you could see exactly how much oil was there…it was layers of oil (including a picture of one of the dishes — you can see the amount of oil here and that was hardly half of it within the whole dish). The oil also dampened the flavor and made it taste like there wasn't much there. We also noticed a lot of the dishes were overly sweet with the sauces. We've decided to not return for now in hopes that they will remedy this issue.—————————————————————-We've ordered here 3-4 times now after discovering the his place with one time being inside (dining inside the restaurant). As plant based eaters we were extremely excited to discover this place and even more excited when we tried it as the food was great. However, I started out with 4-stars but as I kept writing the review I saw there we're more cons than pros and remembered some of the frustration I've experienced thus far so we are at 3-stars with room for improvement.Pros:-the food has been consistent and tasty each time, fresh, homemade, seasoned, and hot-menu: this is both a pro and a con so I'm placing this in both categories. It's a pro in the sense of there is so much to choose from and to try, but the menu website is painful to navigate due to the the sheer size of the menu-portion size is slightly smaller than you'd expect for some of the prices-dining in was a great experience as the waiters were very attentive and hospitableCons:-no way to order online other than having to sign up for a 3rd party delivery service (and you'll likely end up paying more per dish - for example; DoorDash was charging nearly $2-5 dollars more per already expensive dish). In this day and age where well over half of the sales can come from online I'm surprised to see no way to order directly on their website.-calling in your order can be extremely frustrating since they've implemented some new automatic robot ordering system. I literally called 6-7x because the robot couldn't get the order right even after speaking clearly and repeating myself. The last time I called before giving up and going elsewhere someone finally picked up the phone and I was able to place an order. This robot is trash and you'll end up just making people frustrated enough to go elsewhere if this stays around - I wouldn't put that much effort into it next time. If I call and hear the robot we will make other plans.-prices: the prices are super expensive for the amount you get and for what it is (mostly veggies, grains, tofu, soy meats, etc). There is absolutely no reason for a dish of veggies (for example, bok choy with no other veggies or add ins) to cost nearly $20.-menu: like I mentioned above the menu is a pro and a con. If you dine in, they don't have physical menus and with the size of the menu (the menu is massive, I warn you) it's hard to filter through everything via the online page you have to access from your phone by the QR code because the webpage sort of sucks just by the way it's laid out.Worth it?: Yes. All in all the food is great and it is worth a try. While this will be more of a once in a while thing for us due to the prices it's still worth a try and you'll never have the same thing twice.
Shima
13700 Roswell Ave, Chino, CA 91710, United States
If youre in the Chino area and are debating between Wabi Sabi and Shima... I recommend SHIMA 100%!For 4 reasons:1. SHIMA uses more garlic butter! If youre a garlic lover. . . SHIMA is the way to go! The way they season their scallops is ? !2. Their fried rice, in my opinion, is better and more flavorful!3. They actually give you drink refills! At Wabi I feel Im always looking around for a server to order another drink. At Shima They were on top of their drink orders. And last but DEFINITELY not least. . .4. ALBERTO! He was our Teppan Chef and he was amazing! Super entertaining and an amazing cook! He cooked my steak to a PERFECT medium rare (pictured below) and was very attentive! Did I mention he also has some hilarious jokes (in spanish)! He had our whole table laughing! (*LITTLE TIP* buy your Teppan Chef a Sapporo/beer) trust me your kindness to your Chef will go a LONG way!Over all my first time dining at Shima was amazing! My first drink was a Yokozuna Martini which was good but too sweet for my liking! And I ordered their Shima steak with Calamari and added scallops! It was incredible!

So the place looks like its well known, people kept coming as I was looking at the food. When I approached I wanted to try the beef and broccoli, I guess I should have said taste because the lady was confused lol She was nice to let me taste the beef in the broccoli. It was tasteless and hard so I didnt get that. When I chose something else she seemed offended and started talking to her cowrker about me. I didnt appreciate that! Also I never said how many items I wanted and when I asked for all in this picture, she was irritated that I wanted more then one item?♀️ Im sorry Ive never been here so I dont know how it wrks. Im used to just saying what I want and you can figure how many items that is lol. When I was ready to pay the same lady that served me cashed me out. I had sunglass so she didnt see that I saw her look at me up and down with disgust. That was my experience as a new comer. Now when it comes to the food, the orange chicken tasted like candy ? It was crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The rice I didnt care for to much but it was ok. I really liked the chowmein because it wasnt overly nasty in taste. Im pretty plain in my food options so I liked it.
