Noodle Q - Home Style Fresh Noodles and Sushi
Gongs Shopping Center, 2648 E Ashlan Ave, Fresno, CA 93726, United States
So Ive been watching the food ranger and was looking for a restaurant that makes Dan Dan noodles and found this one. The noodles are superb. You get the numbing taste and the flavors are great. We also ordered the beef noodle soup for my son who is a picky eater and he loved it. My daughter ordered the wonton soup and that was also good; taste almost like a miniature bao (Chinese meat bun). And the noodles are made fresh at the restaurant, which is a plus. If you like authentic noodle soup, you should give this place a try.

Curry worth crying over! I travel a lot for work. I always GrubHub something to my hotel before my flight leaves so I have something to eat when I arrive. Rajdhani Express called to confirm my order, and they were super friendly - assuring me that it was going to be great, authentic food. I was not ready. This is THE BEST curry and paneer Ive ever had. The Rajdhani Special Panner has TONS of big beautiful chunks of rich paneer cheese in a thick, medium spicy sauce and lots of tender stewed vegetables. The mutton curry isnt for everyone, but they have lots of more approachable menu options. The traditional style mutton curry with the bones the tender meat fell off of still in is what creates the incomparable flavor that literally brought me to tears. I was transported to a place and time years ago- where my best friends mom first introduced me to curry, goat, mutton, and love that transcends families and brings different cultures together. A little weird to be crying happy tears over curry in a hotel room far from home, but thats what really great food does. It makes memories and transports you to different times and places. Oh, and with a generous portion of fluffy, perfect jasmine rice. They even sent a couple paper plates along with the delivery. Most places forget to even give me cutlery when requested- let alone plates, napkins, and everything packaged with care so as not to leak. It was so thoughtful. When you are far from home, a little love goes a long way. If food is your love language, youve gotta get some Rajdhani Express. Food for the mind, body and soul.
Ginza Gourmet Teriyaki House
5701 N First St, Fresno, CA 93710, United States
I found Ginza while out on business in the Central Valley looking for some deals on Upside. This place intrigued me as I was going to be in the area Friday and I needed meatless or fish items. This place can be a little tricky to find if its your first time going here, but its easy on and off. This store reminds me of places like Hibachi Express that are more quick-serve than full restaurant. That said, the atmosphere is nice for for a hole in the wall restaurant. The food was good, though it could use a few tweaks to make it awesome. I had the scampi shrimp with tempura shrimp and veggies plate and a bowl of miso soup. The soup came out piping hot a d freshly made and for the most part tastes as miso soup should. Service for the main plate had prompt, but also as if made to order. The plates come with a scoop of steamed rice and a small side salad. The rice was just right and fresh, the salad was nothing home to write about. It was good, bit didnt stick out. The tempura batter was light and crispy, but the sauce served with the tempura didnt add much for me. This might be a case where a different dip/sauce would come in handy. The other small critique is that Id like to see at least two pieces of tempura shrimp for that particular plate. Felt like it was mostly tempura vegetables to me. The real highlight was the scampi-styled shrimp. The sauce they used was very flavorful (you can also request to adjust the spice level, too). The shrimp was cooked very well and the main dilemma was that I wanted more of it.Most folks will like spend at least $15 for a meal (entrée and drink); the cheapest dish is around $12-$13. If you want sides or eating with family, definitely expect about $15/adult. While a fast-service restaurant, I had a good experience with the service. The front of the house was attentive with my order and also took care of the soda refills. They were also very personable as well and an overall experience. If youre looking for a relatively fast-service Japanese restaurant in Fresno, Ginza is a good choice. I believe they just need a couple tweaks and they would be a great place to go.
Wok & Grill
4570 N First St, Fresno, CA 93726, United States
I live nearby and this is my favorite small restaurant to go to even though this restaurant is not a classy restaurant but budget wise, healthwise the food here is very excellent! I always order their beef korean bbq with rice and with fresh cooked crunchy broccoli in it and also the salmon with rice and broccoli! The chicken noodle soup also has broccoli and other veggies in it! They all taste very good! The couples here are very fast; hardworking, very friendly and are always busy but they manage to serve all their customers! I would say whoever cook the food here is very talented for cooking delicious food and very fast! The prices here are affordable too and serve you enough food! Thank you very much! Buying take out food here is worth it! If you dont want to wait in line for a take out order just call ahead... That's what I always do!
A C Deli
1440 E Shaw Ave, Fresno, CA 93710, United States
I've been ordering here for 5 years since I first moved to Fresno. The old place burned down and they move to new location that so far away from me but I'm still kept coming back. Tonight I wanted to enjoy Lao food with my family but Got disappointed big time. I wanted 4 packs of chicken sticky rice and The server Will went to the chicken shelves, selecting which pack to give me. I didn't understand why. When I got to my family we realized that the chicken had been cooked and warmed 3 times instead of the fresh one that cook 1 time. They were dried, tasteless. I spend $58 for bad food. Felt Like you eating cardboard paper. It was at 5 pm this was the horrible experience. The reason I keep coming back was the quality of the food. They didn't only bumped up the price but also selling low grade quality food to make big profits. As a consumer we should boycott this scam or we will soon eating scrap from restaurant like this.
Seor Aji Peruvian Kitchen
6701 N Milburn Ave #130, Fresno, CA 93722, United States
Sr. Aji, if you do not cook authentic Peruvian food, please stop to call it Peruvian and rename it as the world gourmet restaurant or a gourmet restaurant only, or the creation of the Peruvian chef.Is this Ok that the owners wife answers a constructive comment with a rude attitude? Is Taco Bell authentic Mexican food? Is Panda a true Chinese Foof? El Senor Aji IS NOT an authentic Peruvian food!! It is not recommendable if you want to say: I know what Peruvian food is. No, No, No! Like any other ordinary gourmet restaurant, this restaurant tries to copy different international flavors or ingredients to become unique. However, those experiments are unknown and not acceptable for the Peruvian kitchen. Please be sure that I am trying to be nice with my review.Lomo saltado with sugar? Really? First, IT IS NOT A PERUVIAN STYLE. Second, sugar is the worst commercial element to addict consumers and is used in other countries except for Peru. Third, it is unhealthy. Fourth, If you are looking for recognition for your style, stop to change the traditional Peruvian food. If you are looking for pride and your recognized name as a chef, do not sacrifice the excellent reputation of Peruvian food. If you want to change it is Ok, but do not betray the Peruvian food. Adding sugar to the Lomo saltado with a sauce is wrong. In Peru, we do not combine beef and sugar ever.Cebiche with glazed sweet potatoes? What? Who? In what region do peruvian people add a sweet glaze with a weird flavor of cinnamon or clove to the cebiche dish? It is horrible!!!!Is this nice to hide ingredients for restaurant clients? According to the FDA, we need to know what we are eating. I asked about the new weird flavors, but the restaurant owners wife Denied all. Later she said that the chef did not release it. When I approached the counter to complete my payment? (About #100 plus tips) The owners wife was rude, including body communication. She said: Dont worry as a way of sarcasm. The second time I asked if they had a new chef due to the new flavors. I returned to pick up my wife without the energy to tolerate a disrespected relationship. NO! I am not returning to this place. In the beginning, they suggested the last table near the restroom even when the table next to the window was open. It is an old trick. They should offer the best table. Why the last in a small and isolated corner?I have tasted the food before, and it was something better. The waiter is just an employee trying to do her best. Therefore, I paid tips.I have been a resident of Fresno for the last 30 years. I am a genuine citizen of Lima exposed to the best Peruvian kitchen. In addition, due to my profession, I have worked and visited all regions and towns of Peru. I love food and know how one dish may change its flavor when cooked in other areas.I am not saying that it is a bad restaurant. I am saying that it is not an authentic Peruvian restaurant. Regarding attitude, it is a personal problem that can be corrected with suitable training to improve client relationships. The following ideas may help hospitality management, the magic polite phrase: I am sorry, or we will talk about it with the owner/Chef; I will consider your questions. I will ask how we can release the ingredients of our food to keep our clients healthy. We care for you is the objective.

Shobu Japanese Cuisine
6640 N Blackstone Ave, Fresno, CA 93710, United States
Tonight was the first time that my wife and I have EVER been to this restaurant, and it will definitely be the last time we EVER go there. I ordered a sushi roll, and the vegetable tempura, which actually was good…my wife's food however, was ATROCIOUS! My wife absolutely LOVES Yakisoba noodles with Chicken, and has literally ordered that same thing, at like a thousand other restaurants…but this garbage that they served her, was absolutely disgusting! My wife only took about 3 bites of this slop, and got so nauseous, she almost had to run to the bathroom to throw up. Considering that she physically could not eat this garbage, she asked our waitress, to please remove it from the bill, since SHE COULD NOT EAT IT…and this timid spineless little girl, had the audacity to come back after “talking to her mamager”, and tells my wife that her manager said that since my wife ordered it, “the best they can do, is 20% off”…which ONLY came to -$3. Are you effing kidding me?! So you're telling me, that because we ordered something, at a restaurant that we have NEVER BEEN TO BEFORE, and something that has been delicious at almost every single other restaurant…that it is our fault, and “the best you can do, is 20%”?!? I am legitimately mind blown!! Even a fast food restaurant will give you a FULL REFUND if the food you order, is COMPLETELY INEDIBLE…but this “nice” Japanese restaurant can only give 20%??? Honestly, I have never been more appalled by the staff at a restaurant, and not only will I be doubling this review on yelp, Facebook, Instagram, and EVERYWHERE ELSE I CAN FIND…but I will also NEVER be visiting this JOKE of an establishment again. Please folks, do yourself a favor, and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I recommend Takumi on W Shaw, because all of their food is INCREDIBLE, and their staff is TOP NOTCH. This alarmingly ridiculous experience, has made me a Takumi customer for life!
Ho Ho Kafe
926 F St, Fresno, CA 93706, United States
This place is a gem hidden in Chinatown. It is my favorite place to grab breakfast and lunch. It makes you feel at home and the informality of it makes it really special. The grill sits 5 feet away from you and “pops” (that's what regulars call him) turns around and asks “do you want an egg on top?”. My fiancé asked me where I wanted to eat for my birthday, I said Ho Ho Kafe. “Momma” (that's also what regulars call her) is the sweetest lady and her children are really attentive. I was working abroad for 2 years, came back and she remembered me. This is where I wanna spend my money. The food is fantastic and inexpensive, large portions, good bang for the buck. People criticize the dirtyness and that the walls are dirty and what not. If you're looking for something posh this is not the spot. If you're looking for something homey, this is the spot. The fridge full of sodas, veggies, meats and random stuff give it a unique atmosphere and it's always popping, especially on weekends. I have never written a review before, this is my first and probably my last. Just wanted to show my appreciation for what this place means to me.
Chop Sticks
4783 E Olive Ave, Fresno, CA 93702, United States
Ugh. I just dont understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews. My wife and I were staying at a local hotel near the airport and checked reviews for dinner recommendations nearby. This restaurant came up highly rated, and we decided to go for it. We should have read the 1 star reviews. The place is a dive. When we arrived I had second, third, and fourth thoughts. Bad neighborhood, the place looks like it should be torn down, and the inside was worse. I was ready to leave immediately and should have trusted my gut since it was going to have to deal with the food, but my wife doesnt like searching for food (shes a one stop shopper), it seemed popular with a number of people picking up food, and a local PD officer was picking up his order. Typically, if law enforcement eats at a restaurant its probably clean and the food is good. Well, maybe not in Fresno.Well, given the popularity, and having eaten at dives before and had good food we decided to place a take out order. I got the Thai Garlic Chicken, and my wife got the Ginger Beef. We probably should have looked at the food before leaving, but we just paid and took it to the hotel (We were in a hurry to leave the area). The containers seemed heavy and packed with food, but when I opened up the Styrofoam container what I saw was pretty gross, and mostly rice. I still cant figure out what was Thai about my Thai Garlic Chicken (there was absolutely nothing Thai about it), or ginger about the Ginger Beef. Both seemed to have the same gray/brown gravy poured over them. I seriously thought about not eating either dish given the appearance, but I tried a couple of bites anyway. My chicken had a strange taste and texture to it, simply put......very unpleasant, and I decided to cut my loses and not try the beef. Both had a gray/brown color to them. My wife did, and we quickly closed the containers and threw it in the trash outside the room and down the hall. Live and learn. Dont believe the hype about this place. Youll be disappointed. Read the one star reviews and believe them please.
