Chins Szechwan - Oceanside
4140 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside, CA 92056, United States
This place had nothing. Omg I order the orange chicken and wanted to substitute my rice for the noodles and they said no. They don’t do that but everywhere else doesn’t seem to have a problem. Then I said I would substitute it for fried rice and the gentlemen said no can’t do that either. He said they would have to make a whole order. There was a guy that just ordered house special fried rice in front of me and I was like can’t you just make alittle more on his order and substitute the rice. He said no. Smh this is the most difficult experience I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant. Was not helpful at all. Not coming here again.

Whoa! We stopped in to what I remembered being a dive bar with German food, only to find a wild transformation: craft cocktails and excellent high-end food prepared by Michelin Star chefs! This place still looks a lot like the old Irina's bar and grill but the food is straight out of a fine dining experience.Chicken wing stuffed with Chinese sausage and the “birds nest” with crazy spices and a quail egg, this was absolute culinarily wizardry being thrown down at what was aWe chatted with Ed, one of the partners and the mixologist of the craft cocktail component of this new venture. He's friendly and excited to build something great in this space and I'm super excited to see what these guys can do. We will definitely be back!
Tasty Pot Oceanside
1058 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92054, United States
If I could give 10/10 stars, I would. This is the best restaurant in the entire shopping center, and probably the best Asian food in Oceanside. The food was superb. We got the kimchi pot, “very spicy” (the spice lever was on point), and the veggie pot, not spicy at all, shared between 2 adults and 2 children, and had a whole serving of leftovers for tomorrow. The server was excellent and walked us through the experience with ease. The tv in the dining area was playing videos of a woman in Asia cooking authentic food with American pop music playing over the speakers. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. Well worth the money and the time. I'm already looking forward to returning. *Plus, this is an amazing exchange for the previous tenants of this location, different type of food and with whom we always had issues. Thank you so much for taking over this spot of the building and bringing your food and vibe to Oceanside!
Joyee Dumpling House
3460 Marron Rd #107, Oceanside, CA 92056, United States
I went here on their second day open. The workers were very nice and the dining room was very clean. We placed our order and they made Szechuan chicken for me even though it wasn't on the menu, it was excellent and nice and spicy and a huge portion. My friend ordered sesame buns and Szechuan eggplant, we had to wait 15 minutes for the buns to be made. When I checked the order in the car the buns were missing and the girl had put egg and green onion on the receipt instead. I went back in and told them and they apologized and told us we could keep the dumplings for free, so we had to wait another 15 minutes for the buns to be made. When we got home we realized that the eggplant was missing from the receipt and bag. I'm not sure what the problem with the girl that took our order was but they only got one thing right on the order. It was nice of them to say you can keep the dumplings for free but they were almost twice the price of the buns.I will try this place again but not right now because all new restaurants have many issues when they're first starting out. The blonde does need more training and maybe should repeat the order to the customer. There were 2 things that I did not like about the place as I was waiting inside and that was, it was very cold in there and the music was extremely loud.Make sure you check your order completely before walking out of that store

The food of my (moms) people! I havent had Chamorro cuisine in a long time and this is one of the few times Ive had it out since Ive only really had it homemade.Ive somewhat had this place in mind and Im happy I finally got the chance to try them out.ITEMS ORDERED:Locals Deluxe (w/ mac salad & pork spare ribs)Chamorro Style Fried Chicken (w/ mac salad)EmpanadaTASTE:All the comforting feels for me as I ate my way through all the different items. I already had certain flavors in mind of how specific items would taste and the dishes all pretty much fit that.I had to go with the pork spareribs instead of the chicken option since I always enjoyed them as a kid at all the Chamorro parties. I was already expecting flavors of soy sauce and vinegar in an almost too strong way and these ribs were just that, in the best way. I say too strong because I think if you have never had these, you might at first find it a little too flavored, but once you get a bite with some red rice, its all good.Red rice is a staple with this cuisine and works well with any protein. The vibrant color is more dramatic than the flavor since its more subtle with just notes of salt & garlic I like to think. The mac salad was simple & good. I like the nicely sized portion of it compared to what you get at the Hawaiian chains these days. Compared to the mac salad at Hawaiian places, this is much less sweet. Also, I was surprised to not see potato salad as an option since Im more used to having that side dish more.I dont believe Ive ever had Chamorro Style Fried Chicken but Ill say its comparable to fried chicken, minus the breading part. So the crunch is not there, but also comes across less heavy. The Empanada I always view as a specialty item since since whenever Ive had it before it was in limited amounts and it always ran out. Its basically a nicely flavored shredded chicken mixture inside a crispy shell. Im use to a little more spice, which these werent, but they still were so good. Great freshly fried texture.SERVICE:The one girl who both took the order and brought the food out was very kind and friendly.LOCATION & PARKING:They are located in little shopping plaza which includes an IHOP with lots of parking so you shouldnt have a problem with that. Youll get all the warm, island feels inside with the woody interior and Chamorro styling.Im partial to this cuisine since I had it so much as a child. If you are looking for a comforting meal or something new and pretty approachable be sure to find your way to Guahan Grill.Cheers!
SONU BBQ
3744 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92058, United States
It was our first time eating at SONU, but it definitely will not be our last! We were seated very quickly (hint: arrive early!), And our waiter was extremely fast with service the entire night. The proteins and veggies were fresh and amazing. The cook top was replaced frequently. We never ran out of anything and it all tasted amazing. Obviously becareful with kids because the grill is hot and within arms reach, but let them join in and help cook. They be needless at how fast everything come, you can use the time to teach about differences in cooking styles, and how to know when something is cooked enough to eat. Seeing is believing! Here are a few tips Id suggest.- Make a reservation or get there early. I didnt realize how busy it was, but when we left there was a line out the door and around the building of people waiting.- Let your grill cover get hot before you start cooking and request a new grill cover between every order.- You cant go wrong with any of the proteins or veggies. Pork belly takes longer to cook and the octopus is whole. Unless youre an octopus expert it can be chewy so maybe go with the shrimp instead.- The point is to enjoy some social time while youre cooking. Try new foods and have a blast!
Chens Kitchen

I love eating at Chen's Kitchen especially because of their delicious menu my favorites are the House Special Fried Rice with tender pieces of Shrimp, Grilled Chicken and Thin Sliced Marinated Beef, Beef with mixed vegetables, Mi Fen thinner Noodles with Grilled Chicken with veggies, and their desserts. I ate their 8 pieces of the Red Bean Sesame Balls. These Sesame Balls are filled with this sweet red bean filling and it tastes very good. Also I enjoy visiting their owners Mandy and her husband own Chen's Kitchen.Mandy has been in restaurant business for 28 years now she told me. Mandy also every time I dine inside her restaurant, I am treated with respect and appreciation for my business.I also feel like I am visiting a good friend because Mandy even though she is the owner she treats me like I am a good friend of hers. That's the way a successful business should be operated in my opinion.
Daiso
2435 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92054, United States
The kids and teens love this store. I think it is alright. This seems like an oversized convenience store you would find in Okinawa or mainland Japan, or pretty much most Asian countries. The majority of the store is home goods, the remainder is toys and food/drinks/candy selections. They have a pretty good selection of things most people like, but the prices are terrible. They are severely inflated, banking on the anime craze of America's youth. The stuffed animals are a better cost than many other places, but still price gouged at a 50%+ increase. The tags are only marked in yen and when asked, the staff said the store has its own set prices from yen to USD and that it does not follow the market value of yen. Of course they cannot keep changing the prices every single day, but a baseline should be kept, especially since the value of the USD and the yen seem constant with minor fluctuations. Attached are photos of two large stuffed animals of nice quality advertised for 1000 yen each, which is a little over $6 US. In actuality, they were about $12 each. This is just under a 50% markup in price from yen to USD. I like the quality of these items, but they should have some signs posted everywhere to illustrate the stores price list so there is no question. The selection of food and kid desirables could be better, much of the store seems very specific to Asian households. Then again, it is a Japanese store specifically marketing Japanese goods, so I get it. Overall, an ok store with fair offerings, especially since no one is flying to Japan for a day.
Ten Gu Ramen
2183 Vista Way B-2, Oceanside, CA 92054, United States
Happened to stumble upon this newly opened ramen shop in Oceanside and I was pleasantly pleased with my experience at Ten Gu Ramen. We decided to dine-in for dinner and enjoyed everything they had to offer. The interior decor was extremely immersive, with gigantic wall-to-wall wallpaper depicting a kind of Tokyo City Street Bar vibe and a Japanese Anime soundtrack playlist bumping for ambiance. There were also Asian character figurines and other assorted decorations which all accentuated to the experience of being in an authentic ramen shop. The service was attentive, friendly and very accurate. They made sure to read our orders back to us to confirm and answered all of our questions patiently. The only time they lagged in speed is when they got swamped with groups at around 7:00pm and we understood it wasnt their fault.* they just recently opened and are still hiring for positionsOur ramen was immaculate and boasting so many flavors. Their heat index scale is very flexible and accurate, so if you like a GOOD spicy heat, want the burn, but also keep the flavor, order a 5 (scaled 1 to 10) or Medium heat. You can also select thick udon noodles or the thing style. After trying both, the portions are both fantastic and filling, so just go with the texture you love the most.* On a side note, it was a little odd that when we requested extra eggs as sides for our ramen, we received them BEFORE the ramen arrived, but I now know to request them to be served WITH the food instead.Edamame was perfectly salted.Spring rolls were nice & hot with tasty sweet sauce and crispy to the bite.We didnt order beer or sake, but their Thai tea is A MUST! Not just because it tastes great, but because it comes in the coolest TO-GO cup with a lid, that is perfect for re-use. Its also HUGE!!Their bathrooms were very clean and it was just an overall excellent dining experience and Im happy that TEN GUN RAMEN has joined the Oceanside Food Scene.
