Panda Garden
742 S Rancho Santa Fe Rd, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
A great hole in the wall if youre not from around the area. Hard to find legit Chinese food yet this is the place to come to for such fast friendly service and authentic Chinese food.Small to moderate sized restaurant with beautiful modern Chinese decor of bamboo, pandas, and Chinese art. The menu was easy to read and follow. Lots of delicious savory selections.-egg drop (very nice broth)-double pan fried noodle seafood (lots of seafood. wish noodles came out more crispier)-orange peel chicken (by far exceeds panda express and flavors and season to perfection)-broccoli with yu shiang sauce (sweet and tangy)All food was brought out in a timely matter. Waters filled without asking. Portions are valued well and quality/ taste is above the charts. If youre looking for a good Chinese place go-to spot, Panda Garden will surely not disappoint.

French Baguettes at a Vietnamese restaurants. Well to be fair this place is all about the sandwich and less about say Vietnamese food. The equivalent to the po boy. Its a skinny French baguette filled with assorted meats, daikon, jalapeno, carrots and a buttery mayo. After years of latenight Lees in Orange county I was craving something a little closer to home. Lees has the distinction of being open late, really late and having a large menu of inexpensive, what I call snacks, 1 is never enough. This is not lees, they are larger, meatier, but for some reason I still prefer the daikon and slightly less expensive version from Lees. I like the larger, softer rolls they use here and man do they slather on the buttery mayo. It either masked the jalapeno or the jalapeno was weak and didnt complete the flavor experience. I love how their #1 is just a combination of 4 other sandwiches. Came out pretty quick and just a part of a ducket more expensive they get the leg up on the bread alone. The shop is small and they offer a clear noodle soup which sounded interesting, probably not pho, but something else. Ill be back, I must make the menu my own.

Curry Craft Nordahl - Indian Restaurant & Cater...
763 Center Dr Suite #101, San Marcos, CA 92069, United States
If you’re looking for a real authentic Indian food and great customer service this is the place. We visited this restaurant 2 days in a row. Tried multiple dishes. Indo-Chinese, Indo-Punjabi, chaats. All were just too good…! We were given 2 tables to enjoy our dinner in the corner because our toddlers were sleeping and their sleep doesn’t get disturbed. We tried Malai kofta, Veg fried rice, Veg noodles, gobi manchurian, spring rolls, samosa, aloo tikki, mango lassi, gulab jamuns and our the most favorite Chhole bhatore-The big hit. They serve real bhatore, and not the fried tortillas like other restaurants. LOL. Fresh good real food we had after so long. Must visit restaurant…! ?

China Bros

Youre average joe Chinese spot in a pretty easy-to-get-to location. I had the lunch special which comes with egg drop soup, which was perfect for the sore throat I had going on.I had the hot garlic cause with chicken option which was definitely hot enough to cause me to sweat but definitely not overpowering. Im a spicy eater, so it will definitely be on the spicer side for some! Lunch Special was enough to fill me up when I was hungry ?The experience would be about middle of the road between what you would have at Panda Wok off Rancho Santa Fe and Panda Express. Not as expensive as panda ex, but food is still good compared to the lower quality you would get at Panda Wok.With some of the cooks having a laugh/singing here and there, and exceptionally fast service with a clean dining area. Its much preferred over the cheaper establishment @ Panda Wok. Ill definitely be back!

Ahi Sushi & Grill
157 N Twin Oaks Valley Rd #136, San Marcos, CA 92069, United States
Today was the first day I went here.I wanted a new sushi place that was still close.I saw this place when I tried Pizza Nova. At this point in my life, I love pizza sushi more than pizza. Before coming, I wanted to see a menu, but was struggling to pull that up, so I called them. The girl on the phone seemed nice and she already told him that they had teriyaki bowls, so I was sold.I got there and its seems small, but very clean. The two girls were very nice. They let us choose our own table.I picked mixed tempura, a Crying Baby or Cry Baby and a Philly roll with smoked salmon. You guys, if youve never had smoked salmon in your Philly roll, youre missing out!!!Everything was so good. I also drank hot, green tea and washed down my shrimp bowl (which I got from the lunch special) with an Asahi. I believe thats what it is.My brother ordered the katsu chicken lunch special and a roll. He didnt think the lunch order would be enough since it was good pricing, but he was wrong.Service was good. The chefs were good and my rolls were awesome. Id definitely come here again!

Umami Japanese Restaurant
251 N City Dr #122, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and was disappointed. While ramen is never low sodium, this broth was mouth puckering salty and didnt not have that rich, simmered for hours, pork bone flavor. The noodles themselves didnt appear to be actual ramen noodles, but just generic Chinese wheat noodles used for chow mein. They added a sweet soy marinated shiitake mushroom which didnt go well, and Napa cabbage, which is a first for me in Ramen. Its as if they took all the stereotypical Asian ingredients conveniently lying around and said hey we can put ramen on the menu! My guess, like most Japanese restaurants in San Diego County, this place is Korean or Chinese run- not that theres anything wrong with that, so as long as they keep Korean or Chinese specific ingredients out of traditional Japanese dishes (and yes, I know that ramen originated from the Chinese dish La-Mian).

PanPan Wok
149 S Rancho Santa Fe Rd, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
This place stands out with its value. The quality is excellent for the price, however I've only tried the Orange Chicken and Chow Mein. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my food since it isn't 100% fresh and is sitting under a heated element for a period of time. I'd classify the Orange Chicken and Chow Mein to be their signature options. At first glance, the other menu items didn't seem very enticing quality wise. I'm sure there are a couple of other selections which would be delicious and may lead to a taste test, but I think that the quality simply isn't consistent across the board. Quality aside, the portions are indeed sizable. You'll get a lot of food for what you're paying. The vibe is extremely casual and fast food styled, don't expect an out of this world experience. The service alone is phenomenal and makes me feel welcomed, they treat you like family and with the utmost respectful customer service.

Onnys Thai Restaurant
1903 W San Marcos Blvd #100, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
If you are seeking the most authentic, the best and most adventurous Thai dining location in all of upper San Diego county, this is the spot u need to go!!! This location is fairly new, having been open roughly three months shy of a year from when this review was published. The restaurant is fairly small and is smack on the corner of very busy, intensive traffic intersection, yet whenever I go (which is when I see the rush of vehicles originating from palomar airport road heading into my city of san marcos, coinciding with their happy hour) the restaurant is almost vacant! The general manager and I have come to agreement that those big circular decals they invested in for the purpose of sticking on the windows and the fact that they chose the location right in the corner of said busy intersection do them absolutely no good. It seems like the rush hour traffic is just so bent and focused on getting home or doing plenty of other things besides having adventurous Thai dining. Despite the fact that the place is right out of the corner of their eye, those people are missing out by not checking this place out! Seems like social media and the web may be better marketing strategies for them. As far as the food is concerned, it is by far the best thai food i have ever tasted, a complete foodgasm for lack of a better term. I usually get the chicke pad see yu with no spicy because i am not a big fan of spicy, but if you love spicy then they can make your entreè as spicy as you want it. The spring rolls complemented by the sweet sauce are also a really good appetizer. I usually attend this establishment for their happy hour and craft beers on draft. Their handles are usually rotating so do not be surprised if a couple weeks later you see a craft beer that was not there before. Due to the fact that this is a Thai restaurant, you can always find their signature Thai lager Singha on draft, which is very delicious by the way. Back then they only had four beers on draft but now they added two more for a total of six! My favorite one is the latitude 33 ipa. They also have a bunch of other crafts in bottles as well as wine. I highly recommend going during happy hour which is from four to seven post meridian pacific standard time because there beers are only three bucks a pint, which is almost a steal for quality craft beer. I also love the owners because they are very friendly as well as the staff that works there, that is another huge reason I go. I hope their business thrives so eventually they can sell the restaurant and move to Thailand, I can only hope for the best. Team pink always supports team purple!!!im out for now, peace!

Freddys Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
767 Center Dr, San Marcos, CA 92069, United States
Overpriced, for what you get.The chocolate malt was a regular sized which would have been a small anywhere else. The small size they showed me reminded me of a plastic shot glass! It wasnt the best malt, and was more like a shake. The Freddy fries reminded me of Chinese cripsy noodles, as Ive never seen such skinny fries in my life. If theyre going to serve fries that skinny they really need to provide a fork. They only had two napkin dispensers and one of the dispensers remained empty for my entire visit, which had about 3 or 4 customers inside. The employees are not very friendly, happy, or helpful. When I called to ask what their hours where he answered, its the same as always, like I was a regular customer. The outdoor tables didnt look like they had been cleaned in a week..It was my first, and very likely the last time I visit this restaurant.
