Panda Express

Ok! So Panda is not my top Chinese Restaurant but for this place I give them a 5. Their food had good distinctive flavor. The place was clean and the staff was friendly.
Gin Mon Chinese Restaurant
1079 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA 94002, United States
This is one of those Chinese restaurants, where the menu is in English only. They serve a very limited selection of Northern style food. They had a spring roll that was identical to the one I had in boarding school in London.I lived in Belmont for 17 years. Never visited until now. Went there partly because Peter claims that I try new stuff, partly because the restaurant I was aiming was closed that day.

Mixed Feelings at Marks Kitchen: A Review of Fresnos Popular Chinese SpotRating: 3 out of 5I ventured to Marks Kitchen, intrigued by the buzz surrounding this Chinese food joint tucked away in Fresno, California. With eager anticipation, I ordered their combination chow mein and fried rice, both boasting chicken, beef, and shrimp. As the aroma tantalized my senses, I couldnt help but notice the bustling crowd, a testament to its popularity. The staff, despite the chaos, remained attentive and welcoming, guiding me through my first visit. They provided all necessary condiments for a takeaway feast, ensuring a seamless experience. However, the sheer volume of patrons hinted at a potential wait, which indeed stretched to nearly an hour for my order.Upon finally sampling the dishes, I found them generously portioned and piping hot, promising a satisfying meal. Yet, my excitement waned as I detected an unexpected sweetness in both the chow mein and fried rice. While I appreciate diverse flavor profiles, this departure from traditional savory notes left me puzzled. It reminded me more of teriyaki sauce than the robust Chinese flavors I had anticipated.Despite this, the food held its own in terms of taste, albeit not entirely to my preference. The affordability factor was questionable, with each dish costing a steep $35, albeit large enough to serve a sizable group. Nevertheless, the friendly ambiance and accommodating staff softened the blow of the price point. In conclusion, Marks Kitchen presents a mixed bag of experiences. While the food is undeniably decent, the unexpected sweetness may not suit everyones palate. The bustling atmosphere and potential wait times, especially during peak hours, are factors to consider. Im willing to give it another chance with smaller portions to truly gauge its culinary prowess. For now, its a promising yet polarizing addition to Fresnos dining scene.
Cheung Hing Seafood & Dimsum

Dimsum is decent but not great. However its a very popular restaurant. There are definitely better Chinese restaurants in the Belmont/San Mateo area.
Hongry Kong
407 Old County Rd, Belmont, CA 94002, United States
Hongry Kong puts in a solid effort to make Hong Kong cafe style food, and its pretty decent. I think it has the potential to be something great, but its not quite there yet.I had the curry beef brisket and tendon over rice, an egg tart, and milk tea. The beef brisket and tendon was mostly tendon, which is fine with me. I love me some tendon! For $8, I do believe that there should have been more brisket though. The beef was a bit rough and stringy and wasnt that flavorful on its own, but the spices in the curry helped lift it a little. Theres also some carrots and potatoes mixed in. I did like that the potatoes were fried before being added to the curry. They had a deep fried flavor that mixed well with the spices. Imagine home fries smothered in curry. It was a welcome surprise, since I didnt expect that from a food truck. Heck, not many brick and mortar cafes do that. Theres a healthy portion of rice underneath too, which kept me adequately satisfied. With a little work, this could be a real winner.I definitely wasnt expecting the egg tart to be Golden Gate Bakery status, and its really not bad. The crust is pleasantly light, crispy, and flaky. The egg custard is smooth, although it could be sweeter and have a more eggy richness. Overall, its good enough to hold its own. I dont know if its a deal at $1.25. In terms of food truck prices, I guess thats around the right range. The best part about this truck was the milk tea. The rich creaminess gave it a full bodied mouthfeel, and the tea was brewed strong enough to give it a bold, robust earthiness. The finish was just slightly harsh, and its almost borderline too sweet and heavy, but its a solid milk tea by Bay Area standards. I recommend that you order it without ice so it doesnt get diluted. I just wish there was an option to order it hot.I would rate the food in the 3 star territory, but I feel like giving Hongry Kong 4 stars because of the milk tea. Thats how much milk tea means to me.

Best Chinese food in Belmont. Its pretty crowded so its usually best to do pick up. Their 3 item combo is attractively priced and enough for a family of five as the portions are generous. Havent looked for any other Chinese restaurants since I discovered this hidden gem.
Fresno Chaffee Zoo
894 W Belmont Ave, Fresno, CA 93728, United States
This zoo is soooo fun!!! $20/per non-Fresno resident adult. It's not as big as the better known ones (LA, SD, SF, OAK), but I thought it was an excellent value for the money still for all the hours you can spend in here + their unique exhibits! You can pay for parking by using an app or using a machine they have by the lot.?One big criticism in case the zoo sees this before I ramble positively: these are the most boring animal information cards ever! I recommend getting an intern do so some serious googling for real fun facts about each animal. I was trying to take notes but it was hard cause I didn't want to write any of it down lol! Some just have the name and picture of the animal and that's it…????? Their African Sahara/watering hole exhibit was the coolest. A bunch of cool animals all together!! And there's a big outdoor cafeteria area too so you could enjoy the view while resting if you want. Their rhino is like a cute puppy, loves playing with huge branches and prancing around :) there are 2 ostriches that like following each other around. A lonely wildebeest but a bunch of antelopes. Would be cool to see zebras. There are 3 elephants, and I think one of them is an African buck that is one of the largest in NA at 13,000 pounds! I think I read a sign for an upcoming similar multi-species spot for malaysia(?).? I've never been so close to a lion before! It got up and I got to see it spray pee out the fence lol. It had all this space but chose to be close to the fence with people, the lioness was more shy.? There was a tiger, but it looked really skinny. It did lots of tricks for the trainer but we thought it barely got any treats. When they finished, it looked pretty upset. That one was kind of depressing, but I'm sure the zoo has its reasons.?? The monkeys are great fun to look at, especially the small black siamangs. There were two moms each with a baby! Super cute. The orangutans nearby were wrapping themselves with rugs from the cold. The other moneys like the lemurs and colobus were huddled at the heat lamps. Kind of sad, maybe more lamps please!??The second cool exhibit was the Australian one! Wow! You can walk through this path with the animals barely separated by a wood railing they could easily pass if they want. I feel like… this one really needs to be supervised well or restricted to a certain age cause I can see it going poorly with bad attendees lol but it was truly the coolest. The emu loved attention. There are a few small roos and other animals. I just love these fun spots where safe animals have more space altogether.???? There was a smaller aviary and a larger rainforest aviary. They were both very nice but mostly empty due to the winter weather. Rainforest one in particular is mostly blocked off for many routes. Still excellent.?There is a penny machine by the flamingos for fellow collectors!Other honorable mentions, 2 cheetahs, warthogs, giraffes (pay $5 extra at ticket window), seals. PLUS, I was really impressed with their little display statues. You know these zoos and their weird light display things, I felt like the ones here were not eyesores. They looked less transparent and well designed.
Farm House

Great place for Italian food in Redwood city. Food are fresh and tasty. Vibe is great as it is surrounded by nice, safe and quiet neighborhood. People are friendly and warm welcomed. I tried the Duck Pappardelle. I love the pasta, very fresh. The size is similar to the Chinese thick noddle. Sauce is tasty and the duck meat is well cooked and soft. Bravo! Outside sitting is great. It is dog friendly restaurant. You can easily find street parking.
Belmont Burger
4467 E Belmont Ave, Fresno, CA 93702, United States
The food here is great 5/5. The older gentleman who cooks everything in the back is very friendly and welcoming. Unfortuanately the lady who runs the counter not so much, shes very rude. I ordered the double sourdough and a nugget meal. Apparently that mustve been a form of offense...? She escalated with attitude from there. After rudely informing me my food was ready, i walked to the counter. l reluctantly, but also politely asked for BBQ suace, that was apparently the last straw. She overly exagerated that they were 50 cents but tossed it in my bag and walked away. I would have happily paid the 50 cents as they are a small business trying to make a living. I grabbed a dollar and left it on the counter. The older gentleman apologized and said it was okay, but i insisted. To top everything off, she never gave me my nuggets ? lol Not sure ill go back, Marks Kitchen has great bugers and better Chinese in my opinion anyways.
