Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant
3199 Powell St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Very quaint Chinese restaurant at the end of Powell Street in Emeryville. If you dont go inside the resto right away, you can walk right outside the premises and take in a beautiful view of the Bay Area. The food here is great. We were here for our friends wedding, and food came out promptly once it started.
Panda Express
1151 40th St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
We visited this restaurant to get some food for a quick dinner. My husband was always against getting Panda Express and I had never had it so I had to try it. We ended up getting two plate meals so each had 1 side and 2 entree's. We ordered Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Honey Walnut Shrimp.Firstly, the Chow Mein is dry and lacking flavor. The beef for the beef and broccoli was tender, however the sauce on it lacked any sort of flavor. The beef and broccoli was a weird experience because I've never had such saucy tender beef that was so lacking in flavor. The broccoli had flavor but not a great flavor. The orange chicken had a very mild spice, however it does not taste like oranges if thats what you are expecting in the dish. It also is not very crisp, it was like sauce had set on it for awhile and absorbed into the bread coating on the chicken making it no longer crisp. The honey walnut shrimp was probably our favorite of what we ordered. It had a nice crispness to it with a sweet glaze that tasted more of coconut in flavor than walnut or honey. There were a few pieces of walnut also found amongst the shrimp. If we ever are desperate enough to go again, this would be the only thing we order. For a side to go along with the two plate meals we got we ordered a chicken egg roll to try. This egg roll was a major disappointment. I have high expectations in egg rolls coming from an Asian family and had lowered them knowing this is a fast food chain and wanted a quick egg roll fix; it still did not meet expectations at all. The outside wrapper was a little bit doughy, almost like it were cooked from frozen. The inside was lacking in seasoning. It had some cabbage, carrot, rice noodles, lettuce, and a tiny amount of ground chicken. Chewing through the whole thing left a displeasing taste on the palate, not like old grease, but displeasing.I'm not sure how often food is made fresh, but while we were there employees were checking the temperature of all entrees. If you choose to go here, be careful of the 5 star reviews because there was a sign to leave a 5 star review and get a free entree.

Good To Eat

It is AMAZING what Tony and Angie have done with their new location in Emeryville. GTE is the place I ate the most this year, as their menu always changes and is always fantastic. From the moment you walk in, its like being in a friends kitchen. The staff is SO friendly; you can tell they care about making GTE a wonderful place to enjoy delicious Taiwanese food.Speaking of the food, I always get the spicy noodles and the veggie of the day (more often than not sourced from the equally wonderful Radical Family Farms), and a dumpling! Then I add whatever new dish Tony has cooked up. Ive never had a dish I didnt like.TIPS: Check their instagram for Saturday hours. If you get invited to one of their festival/backyard parties, go! They also cater!Overall, my experience at Good to Eat Dumplings was top-notch. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Emeryville area looking for delicious dumplings and other Chinese dishes.

Safe Harbor Emeryville
3310 Powell St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
This marina has extremely poor management practice. Marina officers and key staffs are apparently lack of fair judgment, habitually not following company standard operation procedures, and are very confrontational when dealing with slip holders on a daily basis. Staffs are slow in dealing with simple requests and daily matters. Fees and fine are ridiculously higher than peer marinas. Bathroom is unclean and very limited bathroom and shower facility amount. A significant portion of the boats in the marina looks very dirty and need immediate attention. I would give it a no star should there be such a choice on Google.
Doyle Street Cafe
5515 Doyle St #10, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Solid cafe/restaurant, classic American meal choices. I had the Ultimate Benedict which was fantastic but not the right choice for lunch if youre expecting to get any more work done. Others had the cheese burger which got high marks, as well as the Chinese Chicken Salad.
Daiso
5719 Christie Ave, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Neat store with alot of gadgets and nitnaks to choose from.Youre bound to find something you need thats useful.I have a DVD collection and Daiso is the only place where I can still find sleeves and albums to put them in.They carry a wide variety of cushion insoles to make shoes more comfortable at a fraction of the prices charged by the big name drugstores. The kids love the Disney activity books and will spend hours coloring and putting the stickers on the pages.Too bad they closed the one on Market Street in Downtown San Francisco. We either have to go to Daly City, S.F. Japantown, El Cerrito or Emeryville to shop when the need arises.
Trader Vics Emeryville
9 Anchor Dr, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Exceeded all expectations, which were high to begin with. The location, atmosphere, service, food and drinks were spectacular. The restaurant is located on a pier so you have a lookout of all the boats docked. They have the original windows and Chinese ovens from the original Oakland location, a lot of the original art as well. Bartender was in great spirits and led great conversations. Drinks were so great it took me an hour to finish because I didnt want them to end. Will definitely be back anytime Im in The Bay.

Public Market Emeryville
5959 Shellmound St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
What can be said that hasnt already been said about the awesome little city by the Bay? Well, Ive been gone for quite a while and upon my return 3 years ago(during the covid lockdown), my favorite varietal food market was going through a renovation. Once it reopened, Im sure Emeryvillers alike were happy to see the newest space in their own backyard open up with new spots where foodie groups and families would have enough and great food options. I havent tried every restaurant but eventually I will. For starters, Mr. Dewies Cashew Creamery is the creamiest most delicious non-dairy dessert youll enjoy this side of the Bay! I dare you to get a cookie-cream sandwich with the banana nut flavored cream???These emojis says it all. My buddy says the fried chicken at Minnie Bells is the best hes ever had (since he left mommas home 20+ years ago!) ?. You can get all the soul food sides including kool-aid! Thats real savage for you soul food lovers. Ya cant go wrong with Super Duper Burgers, fries and shakes! I tried Pig in a Pickle, unfortunately it wasnt to my satisfaction. I only wanted a hotlink---and bread wasnt included nor barbq sauce. I had to ask for the bbq in place of mustard and a radish sauce...and to include the bread was way more than I wanted to spend on a spicy sausage, esp when Top Dogg serves the best! Thats just me. Theres something for everyone. Ima picky personal chef and baker ----originally from the Bay, so I needless to say-- I know good food when I smell it, see it and taste it. Congrats to all the food entrepreneurs at Emeryville Public Market! Please support them as you can. The industry is tough but if service and food tastes above and beyond---people will come back ..again and again and will meetup with a friend. Cheers!!
