China King restaurant
5915 Calle Real # b, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
Good and authentic food in Goleta. Found this small Chinese restaurant by Chance. I’m from Chongqing, my taste buds are still 100% Chinese even after staying in the states for almost 30 years. This will be my go to place for Chinese food when I’m visiting Santa Barbara.
Panda Express
131 N Fairview Ave, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
I really enjoy the food at Panda Express but the portions are abitrary and inconsistent. This is irritating. A tall man orders the same thing as me and gets a much larger portion. Whats up with that?? Another problem is that they are so focused on getting people through the line that they dont fully attend to the person in front of them. Be present fpr each customer. The next one will understand as they, in turn, receive the best in customer service. Please, Panda Express Goleta (and elsewhere, and other service organizations) dont be in a rush to attend to the next person. We will all feel slighted and no one is well served by this approach. Havent you ever been customers yourselves?
Uniboil Phresh Teas Co.

A new place in goleta as of Oct 2018. I wish this restaurant opened earlier. It has lots of american chinese hot pots plus one korean hot pot which is called Army soop. Try the Army soup. you will love it.The price is a little high. 15 to 16 dollars before tax for one person serving. The servers are nice and responsive well. The restaurant has a roomy parking space too.The only downside is that it opened last month....We needed this kind of place in Goleta.
Lao Wang
6530 Pardall Rd SUIT.B, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
The taste is very authentic and home-cooked. There is no taste of MSG or chicken essence. It is very natural food. There are no additives or anything that does not meet the natural conditions. It is worth recommending, even in the entire greater Los Angeles area. Said to be a unique and very healthy restaurant. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best taste I have tasted in the United States. If this restaurant were in Los Angeles, I believe it would attract the support of many people. This tastes much better than many of those Internet celebrity restaurants. I recommend everyone around you who wants to eat delicious Chinese food to try it. Please believe that as someone who has eaten food from all over China, I am not a gourmet, but I can still recommend it to food lovers!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Lorena as the cake baker for my wedding on June 17, 2023, and I must say, she exceeded all expectations. Lorenas cake was not only beautiful but also incredibly delicious, leaving everyone in awe of her talent. The cake itself was a strawberry tres leches, and it was the epitome of perfection. The balance of flavors was impeccable, with just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite was a delightful experience, and it left everyone craving for more. Even my cousin, who happens to be a professional baker herself, was stunned by the exceptional quality of the cake.Throughout the process, Lorena was incredibly helpful and attentive. She listened carefully to our preferences and made excellent recommendations based on her expertise. She ensured that every aspect of the cake aligned with our vision for the wedding, going above and beyond to create a masterpiece that perfectly complemented the overall theme and atmosphere of the event.Everyone at the wedding was blown away by the cakes taste and appearance, and it became a delightful centerpiece of the celebration. Many of our friends and family couldnt stop talking about how incredible the cake was, and it was undoubtedly a highlight of the evening.I cannot thank Cristinos Bakery enough for their exceptional work and for making our wedding day even more memorable. If youre looking for a talented cake baker who will deliver beyond your expectations, I wholeheartedly recommend Lorena.
Phamous Cafe
7127 Hollister Ave Suite 25, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
This is what you need on an overcast day. The broth was excellent as far as restaurant broths go. I got the P4 - rare steak and beef meatballs (with tiny chewy tendons in the meatballs). This is authentic, not watered down pho, served the proper garnishes (Thai basil and bean sprouts). It’s a light soup, despite the beef and the smaller portion was more than enough for me.Does the broth have msg? Probably, but you have to realize that a dash of msg in a giant vat of broth is different than msg sprinkled into every dish at a Chinese restaurant. I’m sensitive to msg but didn’t get a headache here. The service was super fast and my pho came out within 5 minutes of arrival. Is the staff super friendly? Not really, but they’re not rude. My people have been through A LOT. ? The restaurant was very clean and the pho was top notch!
Choppa Poke
7000 Hollister Ave #102, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
This place used to be amazing. I would honestly go here multiple times a week! I would also schedule lunch meetings here and tell all of my friends to go there. The owners and employees did everything possible to take care of you.Recently this restaurant changed owners and names(from pokeme to choppapoke). It has now turned into a place that although I enjoy the food I would rather avoid this place altogether.1. The prices were raised significantly. When this place opened you could get a large 5 scoop bowl for $10 now a large is $15 with only 4 scoops.2. The employees rush you to make decisions and scold you for asking for more. Today I asked for extra cucumbers and the employee says that really is too much.3. The owners and employees are constantly screaming at each other in Chinese. Which is slightly uncomfortable (and I speak Chinese which I dont think the employees knew haha)4. This tables are not cleaned very often. I went in at 3pm and we found one table that was not coated in masago. So in summary the food is good, but it may not be worth the effort and cost to get it. This review honestly makes me sad to give because I have loved this place for soooo long.
CAYA Restaurant
5650 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
The food is creative without being bizarre. For example, the crispy chicken wings were light, tangy, and delectable, unlike any others Ive ever had. The caramelized sweet potato was succulent and richly flavored without being overly sweet. On the whole the menu is fascinating and original. I would give this place five stars but for three quibbles. First, the way the menu is written gives no indication of what items are appetizers, or meant to share, or entrees. Second, the bread is a side order rather than complimentary, but is not distinctive or special in any way. Third, and most annoying, the hostess was brusque, stiff, sarcastic, and unhelpful to the point of being just plain rude. Ill give it another try, however, because the food was just that good.Second visit: Different hostess, who was much nicer. Had the guacamole, which was outstanding, although the chips that came with it were a bit too thin to stand up to dipping in something so thick. Had the Summer Session cocktail, delightfully concocted and very refreshing. Ordered a Pellegrino, but the only size they had was huge. They definitely need to offer smaller sizes of their bottled waters. Creeping towards five stars.Third visit: ordered the lamb burger, which was tastily adorned with harissa yogurt and watercress. Again, the bread seemed to be left over morning toast, and very disappointing, especially since you have to buy it! So many restaurants in this town provide complimentary fresh bread in a variety of styles; I am baffled why this one makes customers pay for bread that isnt even any good. I have now been served by three different waiters, Kade, Cameron, and Melanie, and they were all personable, friendly, and hard working. I dont understand, though, why it always takes so long for the drinks to arrive.
Meun Fan Thai Caf
5664 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
Very popular by locals and take away though I found the food very much average. Nice but nothing spectacular and by far from authentic Thaifood.Waiters are Thai but dont even greet you with a wai at the entrance, everything is very much americanized, Thai spices missing (all taste like Chinese)They put forks in the table even in Thailand you eat with spoon to mouth, (fork is only as helping tool). In a nutshell I wouldnt recommend this place as Thai restaurant, maybe as Asian fusion Cafe. Prices are a bit too steep in my eyes.
