Mandarin House
6765 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
Best Chinese food weve been able to find. The service is not as good on a busy night so try to go during less busy times. The atmosphere is a little bit throwback 50s/60s chintzy on purpose, so if you cant handle that, then dont go. Its a wonderful landmark restaurant thats been around forever in downtown La Jolla. Its great to see it still in business since so many places of old La Jolla are gone. Please keep this place going.

What is there to say about this amazing restaurant other than they are killing the Fast Casual Chinese food game! Honestly if you’ve never tried Panda Express you should. Their orange chicken is remarkable. If you haven’t been you should try and definitely post on Instagram photo. Tag @thedankfactory to get featured!

After hearing almost everyone I know rave about this place, it was time to try it. FYI, you need a reservation or need to expect to wait 40-60 minutes to get in.Pricewise, you can expect to pay something around 30-40% more than a typical authentic. Taiwanese or Chinese restaurant. My wife and I spent $57 for 4 dishes, some tea, and a small order of chocolate dumplings. Price is the only reason I detracted one star. The service was highly attentive and have great food recommendations. The quality and taste of the food was arguably worth the extra cost. The xialongbao was delicious had a uniquely delicate/thin skin, but it held its form. The braised beef noodle soup had an amazingly rich base, but was not as spicy as Id hoped. The fried pork chop was carefully poised between a savory crunchy skin and a delicious juicy middle. The sauteed bok choy was good, and the dessert dumplings were great. This is definitely the best asian food in UTC, so I highly recommend trying this place, but be prepared to spend some $$.
Chins Szechwan - La Jolla

Amazing food and service with another location! Chin’s Szechwan is our go to Chinese restaurant whenever we’re down in the area. We were stoked to see that they opened another location in La Jolla, which makes it even more convenient for us. You gotta get the Beef & Broccoli and pot stickers!

Super convenient location right in the heart of UTC Westfield serving very authentic northwestern Chinese food. They offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and it’s nice to have an authentic Chinese restaurant in the mall. This is my go to restaurant if I’m hungry whenever I’m shopping in the mall.

Super fancy restaurant. There is outdoor seating where you can overlook the beach and it’s beautiful?. Super relaxing. Or waiter was so wonderful and gave a recommendation that we took him up on for our meal and it certainly did not disappoint. First we got the Kung pao calamari, and the portion was way bigger than expected, as you would expect appetizers at fancy restaurants to be a bit smaller but this was rather huge! So that was a pleasant surprise. It even came with chopsticks since it was ‘Chinese’! ?Haha but it tasted so good. The sauce was amazing. For the main meal, we ended up getting all appetizers and it was really filling. Got one lobster taco ??and a crab cake to share. The crab cake? was the real deal, man. It wasn’t made out of a bunch of random stuff, but actually consisted of legit crab. My god. So wonderful. And the lobster taco did not skimp out on the lobster portion either. Wow honestly it just all tasted so great. Amazing place. Pricy but it’s a fun fancy restaurant spot!?✨⭐️?⭐️ ps. They are only taking reservations during covid.
Marys Gourmet Salads
723 Pearl St, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
Im a huge salad girl. I used to drive an hour for my favorite salad shop up in Orange County. This was my first time going here! My boss has ordered this spot on doordash so many times. He says its the best salad ever. I saw that it was close by the beach I was at and drove over.I ordered the lemonade and the kale Caesar salad (with extra dressing), it comes with pita chips, bacon, egg, tomatoes, kale/romaine, Parmesan cheese, and the dressing. Im not a huge kale girl but wow this really is the best salad. Every bite was delicious. The bacon was such a great touch because most Caesar salads dont have it! I also love egg and it was perfect. The lemonade was nice and tart. Now I know how delicious this spot is! Ill be adding a salad to my bosses next doordash order lol. Definitely my new salad spot!
Trilogy Sanctuary
7650 Girard Ave #400, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
After having an eventful and lovely day with my girlfriend on Feb. 8, I decided to turn on postmates and begin deliveries. My first pick up was from Trilogy Sanctuary. When I arrived, I asked my girlfriend to come up with me and check out the place because I knew she would love it. Full house, live music, great atmosphere and beautiful view, my girlfriend fell in love with the place.Being a successful business that this is, there was a long line. Seeing nothing Wrong with approaching the front of the line and stepping on the side till acknowledged like any other food business Ive pick up from, my girlfriend and I received nothing but dirty looks from the girl working the register. After 3 minutes I informed the couple next in line that I was just there to pick up an order for postmates, if I could speak to the cashier. I spoke to that cashier and received nothing but attitude and she insisted that I wait in the back of the line.A business this busy should not be restricted to just one tablet to register orders. This place requires a secondary/pick up register or should not be receiving 3rd party orders. It is unacceptable to make someone wait longer after calling in an order. It is the equivalent of someone ordering in house to go and then making them wait in line yet again just to receive their order, when they know it is ready. It is unheard of and poor customer service. I was not satisfied with experience.
