Harbor Bay Village Seafood-Chinese Food-Take Out
35219-A Newark Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
4/21/2024Every time when my daughter came home from school, she must go to this restaurant for dimsum, to her it's much better than any restaurant in NY.The food here has been always excellent, and the prices are quite reasonable. Our favorite dishes are chicken feet, beef tripes, meatballs, xiu mai, beef rice crepes, taro crispy cake, tofu wraps. All the dishes seasoning and cooked just right and tasty. The service is quick and attentive as always. Now the service charge of 15% is added automatically, so no need to add more.5/17/2023This place has been renamed a few time. This is our favorite dimsum restaurant since forever. The kids love this place and we come here on the weekends for special occasions or just to eat out.We came back here on mother's day, the place was packed, we had to wait for a while, but the food is worth the wait. The service has always been quick and attentive. The food carts come just in time for us to satisfy our hunger. The food is hot and tasty as always. There are plenty of parking spaces front and back. The prices are competitive although getting more expensive than before, but what hasn't?Actually we come here at least once a month whenever we feel like dimsum. We love the chicken feet, the kids love xiu mai, shrimp dumplings, tripes, meat balls, tofu wraps, rice pancakes. We do spend money here LOL.Update 2/4/2023This place is where my family wants to have dimsum, it's been a while since we've been here. The owner had been changed as I heard but the food is still excellent and the prices are not bad. The important thing is the food is tasty and the service is great. We're hungry at lunch and the carts came out quickly, my kids had all the dishes they craved for and I had my chicken feet, I'm happy. Not sure why the ratings is low. For us, good food, good price, good service, clean restaurant, we're happy and this one to us, has it all. Although the parking lot is big but sometimes we have to go around the back to park. This used to be Saigon Harbor seafood restaurant that we used to come for dimsum in Newark. The kids wanted to eat dimsum again. Since the COVID rules had been relaxed, we came to have sitting dimsum. My wife was skeptical about the name changed, she was afraid that the food wasn't as good as before. We're surprised that the foods were better than before. The service was great as ever and we noticed most of the people were the same. All the food were tasty and the portions were big, although the prices are higher due to inflation. We came in late and the waiter wrote down all the dishes that we wanted and they came out quite quickly. The service was actually better than before the name changed.Yes, we will be coming back here for dimsum whenever we have the urge for it.

Special Noodle

Despite the limited amount of review, the food tasted really good! Much better than I expected. The service was quite and better than many of other Chinese restaurants. The pan fried dumplings were succulent inside and crispy outside. Defined worth a try. Will come back a time next time stopping by Newark.
Good Neighbor Restaurant
35122 Newark Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Found this place in the middle of many other Chinese restaurants because I was craving beef chow fun. Glad I made the decision to go here.Service was great and felt like my younger days. The Chinese speaking loudly in the background and the dishes clanking. It was very reminiscing. We dined in and ordered the beef chow fun, wonton soup and spicy schezhuan pork belly. It was wonderful! We had some rice on the side and we ate every bit. The waitress came back to check on us to make sure were doing okay.Overall, wonderful experience. It came down to around $50 for 3 dish and sides of rice. Would love to come back again in the future!
Jade Palace Restaurant

I have never seen a Chinese restaurant where Chinese people eat, so it goes without saying how good it is. I drive past this restaurant every day, and for many years, I haven’t seen anyone from Tang Dynasty eating there.
New Ocean Restaurant
7179 Thornton Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
True the restaurant is quiet, its because no one wants to go there. My husband and I went there with my sister who seems to frequent it, so they know her, food was good BUT when my husband and I went alone the food and service was a minus 10. They were rude, we felt like they just wanted us out, we were interfering with there rest, talking among-st themselves. This last time we thought we would give them another chance, NO, it was worse then the last, food was no different then a generic Chinese fast food. UGH. No flavor, no feeling of -Hey, Let us make you feel welcome, you are in our home so we will cook like you are family, if that was the case im sure things would be different, especially the food and atmosphere. I would NEVER recommend this place, and believe me there are places and services that are horrible, yet there food is great and in those cases I cal in and order food to go. BUT New Oceans service and especially the food is worse than worse. Please DO NOT go toNEW OCEAN on Thornton in Newark, ca ultimate BARF
Panda Express

Small portions. They need to pack the chow mein in the container. You need to tell them to pack things a little tighter. I spent $25 and didnt have enough to feed my three kids. Better off going to Good Neighbor restaurant which is right across the street across from 99 Ranch. You can get three dishes for $26 at Good Neighbor Chinese restaurant
Ace King Bbq
6062 Mowry Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Food was great, took a little longer to come out than I expected though. Service was average Chinese restaurant service so dont expect anything exceptionalIts a lot cheaper than chef yangs and only marginally worse in food
Cousin Cafe
39193 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
I have been eating tea restaurants for 20 years. I have been patronizing them since I was in high school until now. I have been living in Fremont. My cousin is like a cafeteria to me. I am the first choice when I feel uncomfortable and too lazy to cook. But today I am really angry. The food here has always been OK, but what happened to the service? I didnt ask them to be professional, warm and thoughtful. After all, I was eating food, but I wasnt here to get angry! What I wanted to order today was fish soup noodles and Gillette fish steak. They only had fish soup noodles and pork chop on the menu. I ordered it before and found that the pork chop was really not delicious. Then I asked if I could switch to fish. Is it okay to grill it? Last time I was given a Gillette fish steak with rice noodles. I was very happy. Today I wanted to order the same thing and said no. The original words were We have never ordered it this way. I said I did order it that way. No. When I finished speaking, the waitress looked disgusted, Dont tell me that you ordered it, its impossible that you would never order it like this. You can say that we really cant do this. Just because you ordered it this way last time doesnt mean you can order it this way in the future. Then I can accept it. After all, the fish will be more expensive. If thats the case, you can also say Ill pay more, right? There is no need to look down on me and question me as a liar. I remember which waiter helped me order last time. The point is not whether I can order it. I can understand that every store has its own policy, but why should I have such an attitude? Dont tell me..., I just want to ask you. If I dont tell you, who will I tell you? I cant even communicate with others normally, let alone have any service attitude. To the owner of Cousin Tea Restaurant: The food in your restaurant is delicious, but please improve the working attitude of the employees in the restaurant. Let's just watch TV and chat at work. Why can't you even talk well? This complaint is not about me today. I didn't get this rice noodle with fish steak, but it's because your employee (middle-aged, short-haired, wearing glasses, quite thin) can't behave normally (I didn't ask him to treat me well, it's just basic human communication) with the guests. communicate
Long Men Bay Hotpot
39055 Cedar Blvd #189, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Solid new hotpot spot in Newark! Sharing the plaza with Lion Supermarket, it has plenty of parking available. Decor screams high end faux luxury like many new Chinese hotpot spots all around the world. You sit and order via QR code at each table. What I like is that everyone can collaboratively order on the same tab from their own phone and see what has already been selected. Once you place the order you can still add more items on the same website. Prices are pretty fair for the bay area and are portioned well. They have 7 different soup bases to choose from and their two soup base pot ($13.98) is actually cheaper than their single spicy butter broth pot ($15.98). I was surprised by how flavorful their pork bone soup base was - I liked it even more than their hot spicy butter base! I ended up ordering mung bean noodles ($5.98) just to soak in that deliciousness for the end of my meal. Another stand out item I was pleasantly surprised by was their small chicken liver skewers ($4.98). Never had it taste this great and perfectly crunchy anywhere else!! I even accidentally left one cooking way too long and it was still perfectly crunchy and delicious! I would suggest skipping their self service sauce bar ($2.98 per person) as their broth is good enough to flavor the meats. I barely ended up using my sauce concoction. It does however come with unlimited fruits and desserts so if youre into that then $3 per person isnt bad. They offer several different qualities of beef from their regular supreme fatty beef ($10.98) to kobe beef ($48.98). I tried their lamb shoulder & marbled beef platter ($12.98), and supreme fatty beef and wasnt really blown away by the quality but again their soup bases made up for it. They have a lot of ingredients for all your hot pot needs. There were only 2 waitresses working the full restaurant for my Saturday lunch - they did a great job refilling the broths when it became low but flagging one down to check on an item was rather hard. My bill came with a 20% off promotion for their grand opening which I didnt see advertised but overall a great experience and Im looking forward to returning!
