Despite being called a Bistro, it is rather an upscale Chinese restaurant. The place is cozy and stylish. The food was great and their service was excellent. We had appetizers, main courses, and coffee with dessert - everything was superb. We will definitely visit again. As a nice touch, they have validated our parking.

After a couple of hours doing laundry we decided to give this place a try for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in everything looked really clean and welcoming. Young lady behind the counter was very kind and polite I think she knew I had never been here before. We ordered a pad thai another beef noodle plate some fried banana and the mango rice pudding. We really enjoyed the food the meat was cooked well the seasoning was awesome. We will definitely be coming here again Id recommend this place for anyone who is craving some Thai food. Will be trying different plates next time we go but so far nothing disappointed. My son is a very picky eater and even if he was down to try the noodles and liked them. The mango rice pudding was a big hit but Id recommend chillin it in the fridge before eating it.

Friendly service and great food. What more do you want. When its busy they still manage to balance friendly service with speed which is something I admire. Idk if they put more food on my plate than others but I seem to always get full with half my plate. There is a boba place 3 steps away too if you want a sweet drink for what you are eating
GOURMET PALACE
12910 Magnolia Blvd Ste G, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423, United States
This has become our go-to Chinese restaurant as of late. While there are others in the area, were pretty happy overall and arent eyeing anyone else when we crave Chinese. The portions are large, family style large and everything tastes good, prices are reasonable, service is friendly and never far away. The biggest knock and its unfortunate because it isnt against the restaurant, people or food but its location, parking space is limited but at worse you can park at the Ralphs across the street and walk over which weve done before.Otherwise if you live in the area or just passing through with a craving for Chinese food, you can do a lot worse than Gourmet Palace. Do make sure youre hungry, otherwise youre guaranteed to have leftovers to take home.

I went in following the bevy of high quality reviews. Id argue differently. I ordered four items off the menu, none of which were part of their large listing of Americanized special rolls. Seeing so many special rolls on the menu dissuaded me somewhat, but I stuck to ordering a few basic items: a bowl of rice, a spicy tuna hand roll, a spicy yellowtail hand roll, kampachi nigiri, and Spanish mackerel nigiri. The rice was ok, but it was just a little drier than I would have preferred, but not unsalvageable. The sushi on the other hand was just disappointing. The presentation of the hand rolls was such that the filling was weighted towards the open end, so the last few bites had no fish. The nori wasnt particularly crisp either. The taste was just ok, but it was a spice bomb; there wasnt depth to it.The nigiri shone a bit better because the kampachi was pretty decent. The yuzu/wasabi on it was nice and the fish was alright. The Spanish mackerel was disappointing, and lacked its typical umami flavor. Its especially disappointing because Spanish mackerel is one of my favorite fish. The location was alright, parking was acceptable. The restaurant was clean. The thing which stood out the most was the service. The wait staff was very attentive, and quick. This might be due to the fact the place was half empty on a Friday night. Next time, if I want sushi in the area Ill go to Crave or Nomura. Kinza only gets two stars because the wait staff was good; the food was disappointing in every aspect. Perhaps its better if you like western style specialty rolls; I couldnt say, I didnt try any.

My boss orders salads for delivery all the time and raves about this place. OKAY, now I get it. The place was super busy and packed, but seating was available. Ranged from people on there lunch breaks, seasoned citizens to a group of moms each with their baby strollers trying to manuever through the dining area.Since this was my first time here, i wasnt really sure what to get. They offer a seasonal menu, along with their classics and favorites, as well as vegan options. Its set up cafeteria style and you order with the hostess. I asked for a recommendation and the hostess suggested the Peruvian Steak Sandwich. I was concerned it would be smothered in cheese, so she suggested light cheese.Near the cashier counter they have fresh made deli items, like pastas and slaws that you can sample. As I passed down the line you can see all the food being prepared and I noticed some delicious looking bacon bits.We met Matt, the manager in training. He came over to say hello and asked if we needed anything, so we asked if we could have a sample of that bacon? Not only did he give us the bacon bits, but he also gave a us a little taste of some mouth watering make you wanna slap your momma Pork Belly!! SO GOOD!The hostess was spot on about my sandwich!! It was so tasty, youll see in my pix whats left of my sandwich when I finally remembered to snap a shot.My co-worker ordered the Modern Tuna Almost Melt sandwich with dill pickle potato chips. Im purdy sure the sandwich was really good since she wouldnt let the staff take her finished plate because she wanted to eat every crumb and for a second I thought she was going to lick the serving tray to get every morsel of food.I noticed after that they have a Blue Plate Special which Im excited to go back to experience other items. Ill keep you posted of what I discover.Enjoy!
Farm Boy
14107 Riverside Dr, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423, United States
As an avid home chef, this produce stand or mini produce market located across from Trader Joes in the heart of the San Fernando Valley area is one of my favorite places to shop for fresh produce when Im in the mood to cook. Farm Boy has everything that I love and more from a local produce market. For one thing, the prices are decent for fresh produce and they have items that could never find at Trader Joes. I also dont have to wait for the weekly farmers market to buy fresh produce, because Farm Boy has the same items readily available 7 days a week. The variety of fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers is a small one and it looks like the majority of items comes from our local farms. There is also a tiny variety of Asian produce like ginger, bok choy and lemongrass when youre in search for seasonal Asian produce that is not sold at the Trader Joes. However, what I really like about Farm Boy is the convenience of ready made, grab and go cold foods to eat when my busy schedule prevents me from cooking in my own kitchen. Because the owners are Korean, they sell Asian food items like Korean Kimchi, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sushi Rolls, cold Teriyaki Chicken on rice, and a variety of Korean Banchan (appetizers) made from the fresh produce. There are also a selection of ready made chefs salads, salsas, veggie plates, and fruit bowls. Then theres the healthy pressed juices, which is what brings me back to Farm Boy on a regular basis. On the premises, they make the fresh pressed juices like beet juice, orange juice, apple juice, and the basic green cleanse juice on a daily basis. Ive tried every single one of them and each one tastes pretty good and very fresh. There are so many good things to say about my favorite local produce market especially the hot miso soup that I always have to get before hitting the road.
Mardi Gras Tuesday A Taste Of New Orleans Sherm...
14543 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403, United States
Delicious food! I tried a few dishes, as seen in the photos, and loved them all. I started with the Jazzy Wings and sampled my friends Fries, then indulged into the Shrimp and Grits dish with a glass of Pinot Grigio. For the most part, it is a creole Seafood type restaurant. But if youre not into spices, do not let that scare you away. I asked to make my dish mild and was very much satisfied with how they served it. It was still flavorful.I will admit, I was quite full following the meal. Although, could not resist trying the Peach Cobbler. The Peach Cobbler did not let me down. LOLMy goodness, after indulging into this delicious dessert, I sat sipping their Chicory coffee and chatted with my friend along the boulevard for about an hour. It was such a filling, relaxing, and enjoyable lunch. The owner approached and said he was selecting a house Pinot Grigio, if we would like to sample. Uh, YAA!LOL. For this, my friend and I moved our seating to a quaint area in back before the large Gazebo tent. Truly a serene space. I met my friend at Tuesdays to catchup, after a year of the Pandemic. I couldnt have found a better restaurant to do it!Besides their heart warming food and beverages, Tuesdays has 4 main seating areas, with 3 distinct outdoor seating areas. The front of Restaurant has outdoor seating along Ventura, the city feel.. Yep, I saw a couple of Celebs too. Then theres the quaint nestled smaller section as you exit the back, aside the bridge which leads you into the spacious Gazebo tent. Now, the inside, decorated in New Orleans fashion; feeling the jazz life throughout, with large murals. Such great energy in there!Ah yes, the Restrooms. They have 3! A little different in size and feel. More importantly, clean and neatly decorated. One restroom had a mural of celebrity faces. I later found out they were all New Orleans born celebs. I thought that was interesting. The restaurant, with Tuesdays on its red (sun blocking) awning stands out on the north side of Ventura Boulevard when cruising through Sherman Oaks. It just opened during the Pandemic and is going to be a great place to stop, if just for a refreshing cocktail, on those Valley summer days. You totally feel the entertainment industry vibe with a fun relaxed, New Orleans flair. I hear they occasionally have live Jazz music. They have all the Pandemic protocols in place. I definitely will be going back, I look forward to it!
