Cockroach came with the food order asked the waitress what was it starts to crawl she smashed onto her bare hands lost appetite We searched best Chinese restaurants around Studio City this place was on the top suggestion so we went. I ordered shumai, beef noodle, mushroom with tofu. No manager came out to talk to me, the waitress was rude she told me you don’t like the food don’t pay like how can you eat if you knew they got pests inside their kitchen??? Health department should visit this place. I’m sorry had to rate 1 star cuz there’s no zero.

December 25, 2023 I stood and waited for the person to take my order, after 15 minutes a man came up and started asking what I wanted to order, I told him show mein, the girl next to me who was packing the orders began to quickly collect the show mein completely, the man said wait another 10 minutes, I said that I was already standing for 15 minutes, why did she decide to serve the online order in the first place, to which she rudely told me “others placed the order first,” although I stood for a long time and waited for her to come. In the end, I didn't argue, I just left. Today, February 22, 2024, I came to this establishment again. A girl (Bethany, it seems the same woman from December) took my order and punched a plate instead of a bowl, I asked to change it to a bowl, she called the manager and he did everything quickly, I stood there waiting for my order for 15 minutes. She served all the people who stood behind me, and didn't want to prepare my order. I ask her to call the manager in a calm tone, she says “call him yourself.” A woman runs up to me, I explain this situation, she offered to quickly make food and give it to me, I asked just to return the money, a second manager comes, I explain the situation to him, he calls another manager, and after 30 minutes of wasted time, they returned the money to me, and when This is also the wrong amount. I was robbed and rude. I ask you to fire her, I hope I wrote her name correctly, otherwise I will appeal to other authorities. And stealing money from visitors is a shame.

The food here was better than I originally thought. I had dim sum here once and a take out of two lunch specials. I wouldnt say its San Gabriel quality, but its definitely pretty close to Chinatown quality, which makes it the most authentic out of all Chinese restaurants in Studio City. The dim sum had quite a variety, offering even chicken feet. Everything from the shrimp hargow to the pork shumai was pretty authentic and tasty. I must say that I was most impressed with the dessert sesame balls. Some of the best Ive ever had. You will not find any other establishments that sell this, or egg tarts, in Studio City. The downfall is that the place is a bit pricey, about 1.5 times more than what you would pay for dim sum in Monterey Park. However, this place is fine enough that I dont feel so compelled to go 30 miles out of my way to eat dim sum. Its really the most you can ask for in a predominantly upperclass White neighborhood.

City Wok
10949 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
This place is amazing. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area, for a really good value. When you first walk in the staff is really friendly and greets you with a big, Welcome to City Work, can i take a order please? You definitely need to try the City Kung Pao Chicken. The City Beef is super good, along with the City Sweet and Sour Pork. Stay away from anything Mongolian here though. Also please dont ask for any sushi here, it doesnt go over well. Definitely dont confuse it for City Sushi nearby, that place sucks. The owner used to have a small airline called City Airlines, hes really friendly, ask him about it he loves to talk about it.

Small hole in the wall Chinese restaurant I have been coming to for years for a quick bite. Food is great quality, portion sizes right on point and not overpriced like other things in the area. May I recommend their Sizzilng rice soup, wor wonton soup and the Double Mushroom chicken are delicious.

We didn’t know what to expect on a quiet Sunday night, but we were SO IMPRESSED with the food. It was excellent, and some of the best Thai we’ve enjoyed in a long while (and I used to live in Thai Town). We ordered the crispy fried tofu, the yellow curry with beef, and kung pao chicken (technically a Chinese dish, but my boyfriend lived in China for seven years and loved it). The portions are also quite generous, especially with the meat.Service was very attentive and our server was very kind and we had a nice quick conversation. She is originally from Thailand. They have beer and wine too!I’m glad they moved in to Ventura, giving us something besides sushi to enjoy (not that I don’t love sushi). They also have great lunch specials that we will definitely try in the future! Ventura is full of expensive, high-end restaurants that I love, but if you’re looking for fantastic, affordable Thai food, this is a fantastic new spot!

Mendocino Farms
11960 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
Hey this was a great experience! We attended the training session that was open to the public (via reservation) this last week and the staff is fabulous. The food is consistent with what you expect from Mendocino, the staff was doing great for their first run through. I like the set up and the warmth of the outside patio. The kids play area is a bit smaller then the Mendocino down the street but my little munchkins still had fun. Parking will be rough. The lot is already full most of the time with trader Joes customers but if you patient I am sure you will be fine. The drink area is a bit tight as well, kind of hard to navigate between the employees cleaning away plates and other guests getting their beverages. The entry flow is good. Streamlined well. I like the covered area where you can wait outside in line without getting hit by the elements. Over all it was a great experience. The owner Mario chit chatted with our kids for a bit (they talked his head off and he was great about it). We will be back many times.

My go to neighborhood thai restaurant. One of the few places that does crispy pork and Chinese broccoli, and spices it up. Love the staff. They have always been friendly and helpful.

Spice Season (Studio City)
11402 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
We decided to check out a new place for lunch and this one caught my eye while we were driving down Ventura Blvd!I really like the decor. Its cute, clean and modern. There were about 8-10 tables. The waitress was really nice and sweet. We also redeemed our Yelp check-in for either a free Thai Iced Tea or Fried Dumplings! Score! :)FOOD:*Fusion Crostino - Wonderful! I loved the seasoned pieces of chicken they had on top of the crunchy baguette. The avocado paste and mint leaves added a nice flavor.*Gold Rush - Yummy! This dish was just fried chicken dumplings (like gyoza) but were cooked perfectly. They had a nice crunch to them.*Blazing Basil - My boyfriend got this dish and I was told that it was really good! They were nice enough to substitute the beef with chicken and it had a nice spice and flavor.*Spice Season Steak - Great! The steak was cooked really well (medium) and had a delicious flavor. The meat wasnt chewy and was definitely better than expected. Just make sure to ask for a knife so you can cut your meat.*Sri-Racha Style Noodles - I always get pad see ew when I go to a Thai place. And the waitress recommended that I get this noodle dish instead (since I also love Sri-Racha!). Its the spicier, Sri-Racha flavored version of pad see ew and I loved it! The noodles were perfect. Not too thick and very smooth. Not too greasy. The flavors were great.*Turmeric Curry - My friend who ordered this said it was very good! The thai iced tea was really good! Not too sweet and I think it was a perfect balance between the tea and cream.PARKING: Free parking in the plazaOverall, a great place for Thai fusion cuisine. Our table really enjoyed the food and wonderful service we received. We were glad that we checked this place out and hope that it does well. I will definitely be back! :)
