Update 5/9/24Yeah, still awesome!!!Get an Orion Japanese beer and a Four Seasons plate! You wont regret it!!!!Delish!!!Update 4/2/23: They finally reopened!!! Golf and the family are back and better than ever. If youve never been here please do yourself and this wonderful family the favor of having some of the best sushi in the valley. Yes, Ill say better than most spots on Ventura! Only place Ive ever been that has Chilean Sea Bass sushi. Absolutely one of the best sushi restaurants in the valley!!Wow, what can I say? Ok, yea so maybe Ive been driving by this place for over ten years thinking....naaaaww.But then a good friend of mine said I have to try and let me tell you, try I did! LolThis place is awesome and really shows how sushi in Los Angeles has evolved. Ive noticed that some spots are a mix of maybe Korean, Mexican, Indonesian and if youre lucky, Japanese sushi chefs. And this place keeps up that trend. I learned that a new owner took over about five years ago and it shows.First off, they have my fav Japanese beer, Ichigo as well as my fav sake, Sayuri. Add to this some really good and fresh fish. Now they may not have a huge selection of various fish but thats totally ok. Theres plenty here to keep you intrigued especially how they create the various dishes. The Four Seasons is a great sample of four different fish with different sauces, awesome! Baked Halibut is incredible and something I cant find at other places. But there are lots of special dishes here. Add to all this some great service and friendliness thats always shown to me when Im here. Since Ive become a regular they treat me like family. If youre like me and have been driving by thinking to yourself theres no way that old looking Sushi place in Canoga Park is any good, stop in, grab an Ichigo and ask for an Albacore Delight and soon all those fears will wash away.......see ya there!!

Ramen is yummy. I tried the curry and it was good but a bit salty and lacked an additional texture that normally comes from a red ginger that I’ve had and other Japanese restaurants. Also got the takoyaki and it was good. We come here anytime we are in the area and looking for ramen. Taylor our server was also really great.

California Sushi & Teriyaki

Yesterday, I had the worst customer experience. The owner decided to arbitrarily over charge me for a strawberry Boba. I pulled my Bank of America card out and she already gave me a disgruntled look but I ignored it. She then proceeded to add extra charges to the transaction explaining to me that there is a extra fee for using a credit card, which they have never done before when I purchased food with the other employees that have always worked there. Then added another charge because I ordered under 5 dollarswith a card. Monday I bought soup for 3.99 I didnt get charged for having a 5 dollar minuim or cause I was using a card. Now back to what happen yesterday when she took my transaction, I tried to explain they have never charged me for ever using a card even when buying something under 5 dollars from there. She immediately started to make excuses in her defense then I showed her my reciepts... Understand people you have the option when at the register if you wanna add that on or not. It was a normal calculator register where all prices can be changed manually by anyone at anytime. So this owner went out of her way to add these charges out of some personally mission? I can only assume that she was judging me off apprecance which is wrong on her part just because you say hi and thank doesnt mean you cant judge (anyone whos paying you for what you do is going to say hi especially if you are running a restaurant) also is look like if you are a ongoing customer I see you get treated better than some one who just started coming. Over all I would never reccomend going as long as she is owner of that restaurant, Just think behind close doors shes probably even worst to her workers.TL;DR - watch your transactions with this establishment when the owner is behind the register she will literally price your meal based off your appearance....

Eh... I feel bad and torn. On the plus side, the quality of the sauces here is actually pretty good. As an example, the veggies in my Spicy Basil (with Beef) dish were fresh. The bell pepper was crisp and the sauce wasnt inundated with oil or salt. I could see fresh Thai Red Chili chopped in the sauce along with some ginger. Well made. On the downside, the jasmine rice is ok but either its the quality of the rice used or something else...but it does not taste particularly fresh. More importantly, the meats (chicken, beef...no pork offered) taste straight out of the freezer and come across as dry and flavorless. Ex. The Chicken satay smells of the microwave and freezer. If theyd use fresh meat in their prep, this place would be a step up in taste and quality. The owner (?) who Ive occasionally seen is very polite and attentive. The other staff are generally friendly and well meaning, but Ive had a few mistakes made with orders in the past. Prices are quite reasonable. Currently everything is take away only.

Suban Sushi & Ramen
20911 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
We went to Suban Sushi & Ramen today for our very first time and I must say it was a fantastic experience! My girlfriend and I ordered the Suban Ramen and it was delicious! The broth was so nice and rich, the noodles were the perfect chewiness and the pork in the ramen was outstanding! We also ordered the gyoza, a spicy tuna hand roll, and the salmon belly nigiri and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has a nice layout and you can tell that the owner cares about the appearance and cleanliness. The server and the person behind the sushi bar were inviting and were accommodating. It is safe to say that this won't be our only time dining at Suban. If you are in the Woodland Hills / Canoga Park area this place is a must visit for quality ramen and sushi!

Gos Mart

Stepping into Gos Mart is like stumbling upon the best-kept secret in town. Its this unassuming spot that houses the genius of Chef Go, the wizard behind the sushi bar.The omakase? Absolute fireworks! A joyride through the oceans bounty, and every plate is a delightful surprise. The freshness of the fish? It's a no-brainer, dude. Its like Chef Go just teleported them straight from the sea to the plate. Youll find yourself marveling at how something as simple as a piece of fish can be transformed into a piece of edible art.Chef Go doesn't just serve sushi, he crafts experiences. His creativity is off the charts. His combinations might sound wild on paper, but when you taste them? Pure harmony. But the real beauty of Gos Mart isnt just the mouthwatering sushi, its the vibe. The joint is relaxed, laid back, and comfortably informal. It's not about the pomp and ceremony here; it's all about the sushi. Its like hanging out in a friends kitchen – if your friend happened to be a sushi wizard. So heres a massive shout-out to Gos Mart. Chef Go, you're a true sushi rockstar. Keep on rolling those beautiful morsels of joy. And to anyone reading this – go and enjoy, laugh, chat, and eat.Dont forget to appreciate the magic in every bite. And as they say in Japan, Itadakimasu! Enjoy your food! Cheers, Gos Mart, for the epic eats!

Ive been coming to The Village at Topanga by Westfield since they opened up. The atmosphere alone is worth it but right now they have the childrens playground closed and Im not sure why. Its part of the entire experience as the Westfield Topanga mall is across the street. They used to have a trolley that would take you back and forth, maybe they still have it, they called her Molly the Trolley. Ive Loved this entire shopping experience for so many years because they have every store at the Topanga Mall from Little boutiques to Hermes and Christian Dior, the layout may seem confusing at first but its actually pretty genius because they have stores in their own category that have their own little neighborhood in the mall... As for the village, for the most part its one long main path, and far too pleasant of an environment to not enjoy. Great unique variety of eateries, restaurants and bars, as well as a 24-hr Fitness (I doubt it if theyre open 24 hours like they used to be pre-covid), an REI sporting goods store, and it wouldnt be complete without Costco?Upscale salon and spa/med spa/ beauty supply stores/and all of that is great except for as an esthetician whose career was built in Beverly hills working on celebrity clientele, I can assure you that their skin product store(s) (Skin Laundry and whatever theyve put in or taken out with such a high overturn rate of stores / boutiques since covid) are definitely not worth the money and forget about going to The Nail Garden unless you absolutely just are dying to waste money on a manicure or pedicure that is no better than anywhere else-for nail art on top of acrylic nails with a stiletto shape years back as well as a French tip pedicure, I was once billed $250(!)TIP: IF YOU REALLY TRULY WANT A GOOD LASTING MANICURE AND PEDICURE, theres Lees Nail salon on Figueroa and I think slauson boulevard down in South Central. Those women will handle you with utmost care and have you out of there in less than 45 minutes, and for the exact above service that I just described, all of $75... Before the tip. Your manicure will last you well into 6 weeks (I got my manis/pedis down there for years after I got over the fact that the environment in a nail salon cannot really do without cannot really cannot really beyond a giant flat screen TV, some spa music, and the owner blowing all of his money on the spa chairs that always have an annoying massage. At the end of the day what we all really want is a really great fabulous freaking manicure and pedicure and Im telling you who knows how to do it better than the ladies in the hood? They basically invented that stuff)!Drybar, however, is a blast and a half, and if you like the dry bar brand, check out only the best mascara ever invented: its by IT! Cosmetics collabo w/ Drybar, it comes in a gray and yellow tube that looks like a round brush, and now that they have Ulta inside of Target, you can get it there! Im not sure if you can get it at the dry bar at Topanga village but I had to mention it.Happy exploring / spending/going out for drinks/date night/girls day/ etc...!
