Tomo Sushi & Teriyaki
10910 Rush St, South El Monte, CA 91733, United States
Situated in the end shop of the 7-11 mini strip mall on the corner of Tyler & Rush, here in quaint little south El Monte. You don’t even notice this place at first. It’s next door to a water store and across from our local birrirria. And is rather unassuming in its identifying signs for here lies a Japanese restaurant. But venture inside and ask for a menu for a definite future trip, cuz you won’t be disappointed! The food is pretty fabulous. and there prices are fantastically low. I love this place and the owners are the cooks. A married couple who almost makes it seem there cooking for you at their home. In fact I’m gonna call and order my fave after I write this. The barbecue teriyaki is my all time number one. The only negative to Tomo Sushi is that they’re closed Sundays.:)
Krudos Sushi & Modern Kitchen
1725 Durfee Ave, South El Monte, CA 91733, United States
Didn’t bring out our child order with other 3 plates. Even after asking twice, server finally brought it out. However, we had finished our dinner.Informed service this is una. Eptable and asked to speak to mgr. Mgr of duty said she is not a mgr and cannot make an adjustment or comp a dessert. Asked her to have the real mgr call me. No Cal ever received. Not a way to run a restaurant. Especially one claiming to be a Japanese restaurant.Poor rating.
Yoshinoya (Lower Azusa Rd & Santa Anita Ave) - ...
11030 Lower Azusa Rd, El Monte, CA 91731, United States
2023-1-27: This branch has always performed below average: yesterday I tried to use the apps buy one bowl get one free coupon, and after the system scan the coupon disappeared, which meant it worked. The girl told me the total was $13.xx. I knew it couldnt be right because $8.69 plus a 10% tax should be $9.56. I asked about it, and it took her 5 minutes but still couldnt figure it out. Finally, a manager came and asked me, I show him what happened, and he replied Yeah, yeah, I know! Then, he gave me a discount of 2 for $10, and I was charged $11.00 after tax! Please get your numbers right and be serious!!!2020 review: After the order, I asked the girl to exchange two dimes and a nickel into a quarter. She acted like I was a thief and spoke with a really condescending tone we cannot do that okay! Bit she gave it to me right after. Whats the big deal? I am ordering from your restaurant! Her jacket hid her name tag, and thats predicted; otherwise she would have been let go long time ago due to complaints!

Supera Tours
1170 Durfee Ave, South El Monte, CA 91733, United States
Why One Loves Japan. Supera Tours Hokkaido: 9-day Springtime Nature - Tour (JPN245168SE). Absolutely enjoyable tour with Supera and Supera’s choices of nice hotels and room upgrades, which gave us accesses to premiere lounges, which in turn were great for after-hot-bath or after-dinner wine-and-cheese courses (they also have whiskeys and beers and munchies). Yukata and Samue plus hot-springs baths are available in most hotels selected by Supera; the farewell-night Tokachigawa Onsen hotel offered a (thumbs-up) private hot-springs bath in our room (in addition to the public one in the hotel lower level). While the weather was uncontrollable (we got rained on during one morning visits to Lake Mashu and Mt. IO volcanic site), it cooperated favorably for the remainder of the tour. The inclusions of a Michelin-starred lunch (Biei), a simple-style Wacho-market fish-food lunch (Kushiro), and two Kaiseki-styled (traditional and new) dinners, which perfectly illustrated Japanese gourmet elegance, are Supera’s wonderful (and surprising) touches. The remaining meals throughout the tour were a mix of Western-Japanese food buffets and sushi/sashimi meals; yet, even the evening meal offerings at all buffets were freshly prepared and cooked in front of us and their resulted (Western and Japanese) presentations are so exquisite, having the same quality and looks as served in the (separate) hotel fine restaurants. The (fresh) dairy products - yogurt, and, yes, chocolates - drove me “insane”; (consequently) I bought lots of chocolate varieties to bring home. Your souvenir bag must also contain Sapporo Classic beer, which isn’t available outside of Hokkaido. And if you’re a (nature) photography buff, you can let your creativity-talent roam (and rise above the plethora of point-and-shoot photos on the Internet). All this enjoyment from start to end could not have been possible without our tour guide/manager’s excellence in taking care of all of us. This tour (and our previous Classic Japan tour) confirms why one loves Japan. When our ANA flight at Tokyo Haneda airport to Sapporo New Chitose airport was delayed (merely) 15 minutes, the entire group of ANA airline counter attendants bowed to apologize as they announced the delay. Of course, everyone waves when our taxi/bus leaves their hotels; but before waving, the lady *owner* of the Shiretoko hotel stood by until we all boarded our bus and then bowed to us! Amazing manners...
Ramen Ichiraku
10343 Garvey Ave, El Monte, CA 91733, United States
I saw this place on Tik Tok and it looked great with a fun theme. Theres only about a dozen tables, so we had to wait an hour to be seated with only a handful of parties ahead of us.The restaurant was very unorganized with the guest seating arrangements and wait-list.The food was okay at best. A pack of ramen from HMart may be equivalent to the soup bases they serve-- hence you just add the toppings. Our server mixed up a dish with the table next to ours, so our neighbor ate an extra spicy bowl of ramen and we had a very bland bowl. Neither of us were happy with the mixup. The restroom is located in the kitchen area, which makes me worry about the cleanliness if just anybody is allowed to stroll through where the food is made. There was a few dead flies in the front window next to where the hours are posted. And last but not least, theres a bug zapper in the middle of the dining area that was constantly killing flies which did not make me feel comfortable at all! The constant noise of ZAPPING while my party and I ate was very unpleasant! Eating next to the fly zapper made the over all experience uncomfortable.

Great Japanese ramen noodles restaurant.
Pollo Mania
11910 Garvey Ave, El Monte, CA 91732, United States
As an Peruvian I am quite unhappy about this restaurant for many reasons. 1. This restaurant does not give off any peruvian vibes its important because when customers get in they will know that the Title of the restaurant is not for show. 2. They only sell chicken in every plate, like really? This is not Chik-fil-la its a PERUVIAN restaurant a real Peruvian restaurant will sell other meat pork, beef, and (of course) chicken. Anticuchos in the menu is chicken, wrong anticuchos is roasted beef heart. I understand if u want to be unique, but know that if u want to be a Peruvian restaurant be Peruvian sell authentic Peruvian plates with the right foods. 3. The food has no flavor not saying that it didnt taste good nor that is under or over-cooked but the food had no taste. Having the food take a taste that can make a person remind them of home and others love it on how delicious it. That also included the french fries, it was not french fries just potatoes that were cut in thin slices and fried it was so plain. I believe that even Subway can make better french fries that will taste good. And 4. Seeing on the menu they sell tortilla with the chicken combo. Ok so is this a Peruvian restaurant or a Mexican restaurant? You shouldnt be sell tortillas if it is a Peruvian restaurant in Perú even if the people know tortillas nobody will be selling in any restaurant that is Peruvian. To me it looks like this restaurant was built by someone that likes Peruvian food but knows nothing about actual Peruvian restaurant and what they sell and make.
Cha Cafe
10308 Lower Azusa Rd, El Monte, CA 91731, United States
Cha Cafe is a cute and modest cafe that offers a fusion of Hispanic-Mex, Asian and Hawaiian food/drinks. Theyre located on a small plaza on Lower Azusa road by Arden dr street. Its interior emits a very chill and relaxing atmosphere with cali tropical pacific island flair. Indoor dining layout was spaciously organized, neat and well lit. Similarly, its decor and yellow-orange color scheme were perfectly conceived. Whats impressively cool was that they have PS game ? station atbthe waiting area.I came her one late Saturday morning for brunch. Their menu is composed of three categories: Comfort, Healthy and Appetizer. I ordered their healthy vegan avocado wrap with homemade chips ($8.98) and grilled chicken skewers ($6.48) and thai ice tea with boba ($5.38). Service was moderately fast. Veggie Avocado (+lettuce, tomatoes) wrap was delicious and tasty. Grilled chicken skewer was really flavorful, soft and tasty. Thai ice tea with boba was particularly good. Prices were reasonable. Staff were attentive, competent and professional. Free WiFi. Take out order is available. Ample of parking on the plaza. Overall I had a good brunch and dining experience. Will definitely come back and highly recommend Cha Cafe.
Sweet Veggie - El Monte
10478 Valley Blvd, El Monte, CA 91731, United States
Excellent veggitarian buffet restaurant. They offer variety of veggitarian dishes in Chinese style, Japanese style, western style. They also have many desserts, drinks (coffee, tea, boba tea, ...you name it), plus fruits. Their soups taste so delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to you. Most of all, the price is extra ordinarily cheap. Please support this restaurant by not wasting any food and free material they provide.
