Irori Sushi
4371 Glencoe Ave Suite B4, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, United States
In A Nutshell:-Irori Sushi is a pretty good sushi restaurant located in Marina Del Rey, just a 15 minute drive from LAX airport.-This was a really cool find b/c its very popular & crowded especially on a Friday night.-What makes this restaurant unique is you must take off your shoes to place in a cubby.-You will then be escorted to your table, where you will sit in a hole so you will be sitting on the ground during your meal.-The restaurant is dimly lit & lively.-Their chirashi sushi bowl was good.-I also enjoyed their teriyaki chicken dinner, which was very good.Overall, this is a cool Japanese restaurant close to LAX, so if you are on the way to the airport or just landed & want some good Japanese food, I would suggest coming to dine here.
Moto Azabu Sushi Bar & Grill

Heres the deal: this is about as genuine as it gets when it comes to real authentic Japanese sushi. Almost all the fish is from Japan, the chefs are masters of the traditional Japanese culinary, the space is very small as well to give it an even more Japanese authenticity. This is a no frills, hardcore authentic Japanese sushi lovers place. I wouldnt recommend bringing your kids with you because its just not that kind of restaurant. And another thing: this aint cheap... But its the closest thing you can get to getting authentic Japanese sushi without buying a plane ticket to Japan.
Killer Sushi
4213 Admiralty Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, United States
We 3 hungry guys arrived at opening time, 4:00 yesterday….Wednesday. As soon as we stepped into the beautifully designed space we were greeted by very polite servers and managers who genuinely seemed very happy to see us. We found our way outside and sat down at one of the beautiful teak tables with comfortable chairs. Bam, no waiting the first of many servers was there to take our drink orders. Hot sake (cold is more traditional Japanese) and Sapporo for the two of us and bottled water for the non drinker. We both covered the bases with the two and then a second round later. I will not go over the whole journey describing all the lovely dishes available. Just start out with the best miso soup I've ever had. I suggest getting there early if you want to spend some time exploring all those specialities. Relax and enjoy the moment with that lovely, soft breeze in the covered patio. The view is fantastic. Also if you have room try the crème brûlée desert…try it even if you don't have room. Expect to happily waddle out if you eat as much as we did. Again, I must say the staff could not have been better and so efficient. One of the managers named Brett came by the table to make sure everything was top notch…thank you Brett. Our experience was Killer!!!
SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa
4722 Admiralty Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, United States
Opposite to traditional setup, bar is the worst seating where you sit next to trash bins, stacks of trays wrapped in plastic and busy waiters crawling back in forth refilling water.Food is ok by local standards but really far from even the cheapest sushi belt in Japan. Here they use decent ingredients but slice fish so thin that rice overwhelms all flavor and you cant really taste your expensive tuna belly. No wonder this Japanese restaurant has no Japanese chefs...

I knew I wanted to try this new to me sushi restaurant when I realized they had started downtown in the area where amazing Japanese food is plentiful! I was not disappointed and have already made a date to go back later this month. You could probably spend a fortune here, but you don’t have to! Everything was excellent and I can’t wait to go back!

Great service and excellent food. I am glad they opened this location as Marina Del Rey is in short supply of high quality Japanese restaurants…
Kaya Sushi

Kaya Sushi remains my favorite local Japanese restaurant, especially when hosting friends and/or relatives from out of town. Great atmosphere with running water glasswall, semi-intimate lighting, and delicious food, the only downside remains the frequent lines on almost every weekday and weekend from 8-10 PM. As a result, I tend to go for lunch because I often lack patience - even if the friendly staff bring drinks. As that old American TV commercial used to say, try it - youll like it.

Im new to the area and I have been ordering here frequently. I usually get eel and spicy salmon rolls and am happy with the portions, price and quality.Today, however, was the first time I took a bite of the salmon roll and realized it was DEFINITELY spoiled. It tasted and smelled rotten. I called to tell them to throw the salmon out, thinking it was just a one off and hoping for a replacement and an apology, but the owner argued with me incessantly about how I didn't know what spicy salmon tastes like (LOL). I'm sure we ALL know what rotten fish smells like. He then told me he would look up in his system if I had truly ever even been to the restaurant and know what I'm talking about as if I was LYING?!??TAKE PEOPLES HEALTH INTO CONSIDERATION!! If something is spoiled and a customer calls to tell you, YOU SHOULD THROW IT AWAY. The owner refused to and kept arguing with me. I didn't even ask for a refund I wanted to make sure other people don't get sick.P.S. I added a photo of one of my orders because I'm INSULTED that you question my integrity. By the way, i ordered a spicy salmon roll

Tl;dr: Its not worth it. Most likely gunna wait almost an hour to get seated. Fish quality was subpar and theres only a small amount of bar seats.Monday 7pm: 45 minute wait for us. Its bar seating only so youll for sure get cozy with your neighbors. Im confused about the menu+pencils because when we wrote down our order and quantities the server asked us to recite everything and just wrote it down on her own notepad insteadTheres a 16% mandatory fee and theres no tipping. This is nice because tipping culture has gotten way out of hand but at that point why not just state the true prices of the menu items instead??Salmon, toro, and yellowtail handroll: SkipThese are all minced fish paste and the amount of rice eclipses the fish. It does not highlight the type or quality of fish at all (if there is even any)Salmon sashimi: SkipThis is like a sloppy seconds bowl of randomly sized cut up pieces of fish. And the ponzu-like sauce did not help at all. It was disappointing.Scallop handroll: GetThis was the one saving grace of the entire meal as it was the only raw handroll that wasnt filled with fish paste. Just a very fresh and clean tasting scallop that made me wish I ONLY ordered this.Eel handroll: GetWith eel sauce, its hard to go wrong with this so I suppose its a safe option. Nothing remarkable and still enjoyableWe actually ordered another handroll set and the server confirmed this when repeating our order back but it just never came out I guess? Thankfully this worked in our favor as we did not want any more disappointment.I will not be returning and do not recommend if you like quality fish, handrolls, or service.Food: 4/10Service: 4/10Atmosphere: 3/10Value: 3/10
