Matsuri Japanese Restaurant

SO BAD, I HAD TO POST MY VERY FIRST REVIEW ABOUT A RESTAURANT. This place is highly dissapointing. The ramen is top ramen, NOT traditional Ramen. Dont spent $10 on basically two, 50 cent packs of top ramen. When I told the waitress that this is the worst ramen I ever had, she asked, what were you expecting? I said Ramen, NOT Top Ramen. She replied, well its Korean ramen. Uhhh Korean ramen at a Japanese restaurant??? This place is a generic hole in the wall Japanese restaurant. I wouldnt even trust their sushi. Please dont support bad food. Dont fool yourself, if your looking for cheap, tasty REAL Japanese food, look up Mitsuwa, it WILL change your life, worth the drive in Costa Mesa. Or even the Ramen Okawari near riverside college.

The food and service were really good. The place is a mix of sports bar and sushi restaurant. Prices are very reasonable. Nothing overly expensive. The baked green muscles were surprisingly good. I like to try them every time I try a new sushi restaurant. These green muscles did not have the typical japanese mayo. But a flavorful sauce soy sauce. Ill have them again next time to try to break down the flavor.

My fiancé and I just ordered to-go from here yesterday and I have to say we were blown away. I don't even know where to start but I'll mention first that our food was HOT, like temperature hot, which is like, never a thing with sushi to-go. Every sushi place we've gotten cooked tempura has always been warm, maybe, but mostly cold.Anyway, we got the Hot Night Roll and Dragon Roll which were freaking perfect together as the Hot Night Roll was nice and hot, and the dragon roll was cool, so eating one after another was a nice combination. The flavors were super rich and has left me actually wanting sushi again. Normally it's an occasional craving but this place got me hooked. On top of that, I was absolutely shocked to call and be told that it would only take 10-15 minutes for the order to be ready. It felt too good to be true but the order was ready in within 10 minutes!! On top of that there were customers dining in, calling in, and walking in as I arrived so I'm super impressed at how they're managing to get top quality food out in great time. The staff was professional, quick and polite. If you're looking for a great sushi place to go in Moreno Valley, THIS IS IT.Looking forward to my next visit ?Update: My wife and I have eaten here countless times now and I'm constantly given a fantastic experience.I came on a Tuesday night after the gym. They had 15 minutes to close (which I was not aware of) and they still took my order. At first the waitress said they couldn't make one of my rolls due to it needing to be prepared in the kitchen which was already closing up, but the cook overheard and said it was okay.Honestly, they had no obligation to do so and they made my order anyway. Again, I cannot express how amazing this place is. The staff here is amazing and makes me feel very welcomed. Keep it up y'all!

Great new Japanese restaurant in the Moreno Valley area. My girlfriend and I came to eat here and the customer service here is A1. My girlfriend was fond of the Ramen soup and I enjoyed the sushi very much. I was specially delighted with the presentation of the shrimp tempura, it looked so nice and tasty. I liked how the chef came out to ask how was the food, I believe it shows professionalism and care for your clients so thank you for that. Some room for improvement would be to not offer a box to go 10 minutes after sitting down, the milk tea boba could be better, and offer the client if they would like sesame seeds or not on the sushi, as I dont like sesame seeds but were put on the sushi I ordered. These are very minute details, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and I am eager to coming back to this restaurant.

My mom is full Japanese so I grew up on Japanese food...no idea what this stuff is but it aint Japanese. People make fun of how bad Taco Bell food is, this it the Taco Bell of Japanese restaurants. The beef they use has a very high fat percent so you get that squishy fat consistency in every bite. The chicken comes with skin and fat, yuck. Found a human hair in my beef bowl and honestly had to force myself go exchange it knowing I probably wouldnt eat whatever they gave me. Bowls come with bland boiled vegetables or coleslaw. They forgot to give me dipping sauce with my order of spring rolls. Yup, not going back there. You have been warned....

The owner is very rude and impolite! Ive had 2 very unpleasant experiences at this place with the owner being extremely rude, for no apparent reason. The first time, i ended up leaving because i wasnt greeted or served after about 15 mins of seating myself. 2nd time, ordered carry out and all 3 orders looked the same. Plain rice stuffed with something....no sauce, no dressing, NOTHING! 2 packets of soy sauce, 1 wasabi 1 ginger, $40+ bill! And all 3 sushi were dry and tasted horrible...as if done intentionally! Sad!Called and talked to the cashier and she was reallly nice and apologetic which i appreciate. But unfortunately, i habits & perceptions dont change and i think this owner is horrible. Theyve definitely lost a customer in me.

Great shop that does excellent work. I sent in an old Japanese map from the 30s to be linen backed before framing and could not be more please with the result. Can hardly see where the fold lines were anymore and the touch up work blends in very well.

ENGLISHBe sure to go the sharing method if you dont eat a lot. When I saw this small mom and pop restaurant I honestly thought it wouldnt be that good. When I saw the prices I was thrown off a little more. HOWEVER. I couldnt have been more wrong! Starting off with our server. She was very nice and gentle. She was very polite and attentive. My fiance and I ordered the New York Steak and Coconut shrimp. They also brought us chips and salsa. We asked for the steak medium rare. It was the first steak that I have ever truly enjoyed. It was soft and felt like it melted in my mouth. With a seasoning or marinade that was really close to Mexican flavors. None of the flavors in the steak were too overpowering and you could also taste the meat. It was prepared with love. The coconut shrimp threw me for a loop. They looked like they were orange chicken. Crispy coconut flavors glazed morsels that were both sweet and tangy. If you want great delicious steak at a decent price you really need to try this place. You will not be disappointed.ENGLISHWhen I saw this small family restaurant, I honestly thought it wouldnt be that good. When I saw the prices I was a little more confused. HOWEVER. I just left this location and haven't been here for maybe a little over 2 months or longer only because I was addicted and visiting this place seriously 3-4x a week. I was very disappointed to know that they got rid of their original square bowls they stated off with and the prices went up. I'm extremely sad to say the least I moved out to this city 2 yrs ago and I come from Rowland Height if you know this city well y'all know that this is the capital (?) of all things Poki, Sushi Asian food everything (locally). So when this location opened I truly felt like home. Their new black bowls are out of control experience for the sizes not to mention their scoops where to small to start with but it compensated for the size of bowls and the food was pretty good. It makes no sense with their 4 different sizes and the price. For this price I can drive back to RH for 11$ and get the size of the original large bowl and scoops are bigger. Or even a closer location in Ontario it's unfortunate I cannot remember the name to this Poki because I'd give them a shout out on hear but it's off of Vinyard right next to Starbucks thank me later ? anyway sadly I will not come back to visit this Poki I just can't deal with ripoffs. I'd rather spend my $ else where being greedy is no bueno especially when a city like MV doesn't have many Poki locations or good authentic Japanese Sushi locations. Not a Smart Move!!! I wouldn't be surprised if this place shuts down. If the rent is to expensive move locations just as Subway has✌️

Simply amazing and one of the most freshest spots I've ever been to! Food is always super fresh never frozen that's why it taste so good believe me and come see for yourself! Plenty of parking, nice and clean inside. The young gentleman at the counter is respectful and professional, always greeting people as they walk in And believe me it's just a comfortable environment there's always a good movie playing plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy your meal with your family or friends and my favorite dish is the spicy chicken bowl or plate. Depends on how hungry you are but the beef is amazing. The shrimp is amazing. The potstickers are amazing. Anything you order on this menu is going to blow you away I promise, I can eat this every day lately. I've been getting the spicy chicken bowl mild with all veggies and yes, it hits the spot every single time.!! Prices are more than affordable, and the quality is just through the roof! This location is on Iris Avenue next to Popeyes in the shopping center. It's kind of hidden in the corner so you have to find it and you won't be disappointed.
