Rantei Japanese Cuisine
1271 Franklin Mall, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
I have been wanting to find a favorite local Japanese restaurant for some time now. I usually frequent another Japanese restaurant in Redwood City along the way home from work; however, I do find myself yearning for sushi on weekends too. And I have found this gem- Rantei - near home; so grateful the are located in Santa Clara. Tonight was actually my third time eating at Rantei. I arrived approximately 7:15 pm and can tell there were people waiting outside to be seated. There is a waiting list and I would advise parties larger than 2 to adjust your dinner time (earlier) so you dont have to wait too long for a table and enjoy your dinner a bit more before the huge dinner crowds. For tonights meal, I order my usual- omakase sushi, tekka maki with shiso, salmon skin roll, ikura (nigiri) and toro (nigiri) with a glass of plum wine. The fish was absolute wonderful- nice smell, tender in your mouth and the shiso offers another flavor complementing the fish. The servers are all friendly and attentive during the times I have visited this restaurant. I highly recommend this place to anyone either visiting Santa Clara or any finicky consumer looking for a local favorite go-to Japanese restaurant like me. Will be adding more photos in the future...too busy enjoying my meal :-)

Amakai Japanese Cuisine
4300 Great America Pkwy #156, Santa Clara, CA 95054, United States
Great selection of sushi and the rolls we had tasted good and the fish tasted pretty fresh. However, there were a few issues. We both had to spit our fish scales at one point, which Ive literally never had to do when eating sushi before. On top of that, we found a hair under one of the rolls (between the plate and the roll). Lastly, the service was incredibly slow! Despite them having 3 people making sushi (seemingly) it took over 15 minutes for a really simple one, and about half an hour for the more complex ones. Ordering and paying was also really really slow. Not sure why, maybe understaffed. The waitress just seemed constantly distracted. Ive had way better experiences and just as good sushi (if not better) at other places in the bay area, so no reason to come back.

Yuki Sushi Santa Clara
1827 Pruneridge Ave, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
This has been one of my favorite places to eat for many years now. It’s actually my 2nd favorite Japanese Restaurant in all of San Jose and I have tried a lot of different, local Japanese Restaurants in the Bay Area. What I like about it, is that it has been consistent throughout the years, in giving me a friendly, clean and very welcoming environment to eat some of the best Sushi a girl could ever ask for. They also make your order, fresh and right in front of you. If you like Japanese, then you have to give this place a try! You won’t regret it!!!

Italo-JapaneseLa Casa Mia is one of the most interesting restaurant offerings in the Bay fusing Italian dishes with Japanese flavorsWith a cozy interior, colorful drinks, and delicious dishes we had a great meal at their Santa Clara location and they’ve just opened their second outpost in MilpitasWith my meal at La Casa Mia, I’ve now been to all of the Sumika Group offerings including Sumika, Orenchi, Ikuka, and Ogiku and you can tell I’m a fan!My favorite item today was the flavorful beef tongue stew with baguette. So tender and delicious that I saved the sauce to pour over white rice at home? Tokyo Style Takoyaki $9 / Spaghetti with Meat Sauce $18 / Beef Tongue Stew with Baguette $28?La Casa Mia (Santa Clara, CA)There is limited outdoor dining with two tables but most dining is indoor. Ramen Hajime
5229 Stevens Creek Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95051, United States
Authentic Japanese Ramen with more protein and veggies than other places but less expensive. My husband, who is a Japanese living in Bay Area for 25 years, thinks this is the best Ramen in the area. The meats are flavorful, soft, and juicy. The soup has complexity and not overly salty.Japanese restaurants are usually not vegetarian/vegan friendly but not this place. Kiwami Vegan Ramen has a lot of vegan meat (probably imported from Japan). Curry soup works surprisingly well with all the ingredients. I never had a better Ramen, not even in Asia. Recently I had a more expensive vegetarian Ramen with only noodles and a few bean sprouts at another place. So I really appreciate this restaurant. The staff are very courteous. Table is clean. Overall a 5-star experience.

Kobe Japanese Restaurant and Sushi
2086 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
Great Japanese restaurant with cozy atmosphere and excellent food. Kobe has been a family favorite of ours for many years now. The menu selection is very good, and also as vegetarians, we’ve always found plenty of options (excellent veggie ramen!). The avocado sushi and agedashi tofu specifically are top notch. The staff are lovely, especially the two ladies that have been working there for many years now. Happy to have Kobe in the neighborhood and I hope it remains a Santa Clara staple for many years to come. Recommended!

Rice Junky - Santa Clara (Korean Restaurant)
2089 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
I finished my meal at 13:36 in the afternoon and poured a glass of water into my dirty mug. The waiter gave several special services to the lovers at the next table. At 14:16 in the afternoon, I asked them how long I had to wait Then they told me without care to forget to place an order!!!! And the restaurant will have a rest at 14:30 p.m.. Is this service a Japanese restaurant?! I really want to swear!!!

Taichi Pot Shabu Shabu
2640 Homestead Rd, Santa Clara, CA 95051, United States
Preface: Came in on a Sunday night around 9PM for a party of 4(1 person was still not there yet but they were nice enough to let us get seated anyways)Meal: 4 Unlimited Supreme(unlimited access including American Wagyu & Seafood)Dashi Stock - Ultimate Umami Gyokai Tonkotsu Dashi & Nagoya Spicy Red Miso Dashi. Both dashi was delicious and from what I heard, the best of the option. Though in the case of the Nagoya Spicy one, it wasnt really spicy at all...you could ask for more spice at no extra cost!Supreme Selections - Right off the bat, my favorite was the American Wagyu Kobe Beef. It had the good amount of tenderness and fat so as to not be too rough. Which brings up the Premium Lean Kobe Beef, dont get it unless you are intentionally looking for lean meat. The meat had nearly 0 fat so it was dry/coarse. Kobe Beef Tendon was too soft and such a tiny cut it was lackluster. Fish ball w/ Roe was similar like many other places and as expected, frozen and delicious when fully cooked. Regardless, I think the general consensus is to stick with just the American Wagyu Kobe Beef.Meat Selections - My party and I had 1 serving and that was it. We also tried the Premium Australian Lamb and thought it was just alright while 1 of my friend it was too gamey.Meat Ball - I had 1 order of the Shrimp Gyoza, prolly best not to bother with it. Its straightforward and negligible.Vegetable Selection - Napa Cabbage, Spinach, and Bok Choy was all fresh!Healthy Selection - Big yes to the enoki mushroom!Noodle / Rice - I really liked the ramen and udon here. They did not come out frozen but was soft/squishy and just plain delicious! I had 2 servings of each.Overall, Im glad I finally came here as it was on my list for awhile. The great food(AYCE American Wagyu) and quick customer service definitely reflects the rating this restaurant has. Id definitely come back

Truya Sushi Santa clara
3431 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95051, United States
Ok. First off, the food they serve can not be categorize as sushi in my definition. The ingredients they use are not fresh, and the form of dished arent formed well.Somehow, much of their menu consists of Korean food at Japanese restaurant (last time I checked, the sushi was Japanese dish).Anyway, there are many fine sushi restaurants in Silicon Valley besides Truya Sushi, the one that serves real and fresh sushi.
