Yoshinoya
5721 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
This place was more poppin than I thought. When I came in to grab some dinner for home, there were quite a few people dining inside, plus a long line behind me.It seemed like there were only three people working at the time - the cashier, cook, and the food packer. I do admit that the lady who was packing the order was pretty quick. When my boyfriend ordered his dinner, he got it by the time I barely finished ordering for my family. The guy behind the register seemed really nice and friendly too. After I ordered a couple bowls, it was out within a minute or two. When I looked in the back, the lady was just spitting out the orders. I have to admit, for one person working each station at dinner rush, they were doing fairly well. The only complaint I have was that their bowl compared to other locations Ive been to seemed smaller in quantity and drier. I like my bowls to have a bit more sauce, but my mom seemed to like that it was dry, so that all depends.

Mr. Kuso Cafe
6326 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
I picked up an order from this cute, little cafe/restaurant. Upon double checking, there were some discrepancies in the order and I immediately notified the person who was helping me with the pick up. The people behind the counter extended their assistance in a swift, and extremely polite manner. The older male (who I believe is the owner) is extremely kind and polite. We all make mistakes. Me too! (hehe!)Judging on how this restaurant handles issues, I am confident that this restaurant do NOT recycle old food and serve it to the next customer. Something that many restaurants tend to do is serving food that was made by mistake and may/may not serve it to new incoming customers (who knows, right?). NOT at this location. food/drinks are always made fresh, piping hot, or ice cold. I was touched by how kind and professional the people in this establishment are.Restroom is clean. Dining area is pretty small (nothing wrong with that, just an FYI) but very clean; spotless clean. Menu wise, this establishment offers a variety of taiwanese food (from snacks such as popcorn chicken all the way to the main meals) and some Japanese food (ramen, anyone?). They also serve boba (suggestion: try the boba milk tea). Prices are reasonable. There is plenty of parking outside the establishment.I support local businesses and I will be very happy to spread my testimony with my family, friends, and colleagues. Great food, clean place, very nice and kind people, reasonable price, plenty of parking...? What else can I ask for? You will be seeing me as a customer also often now (not just a delivery driver).Thank you very much for your kindness and professionalism. The one and only restaurant with such a commendable service and quality so far.

Red 99 Grill Bistro
5557 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
One of the newly opened hot Chinese restaurants in San Gabriel Valley. Since everyone is talking about it, my wife and I decided to come to find out what the buzz is about. It turned out that the people come for the taste of the food. As one of Yelpers put it, “ every dish does not disappoint”, “ should bring the whole family, especially the elderly here to have a meal.”Every table seemed to order the two most popular dishes: steamed fish and Hongshao Rou or braised pork belly. I also saw some tables had MaPo tofu. Following everyone else’s orders, we too ordered these popular dishes. I was surprised on how good they are. The fish was steamed to the right tenderness with the fish meat and the black bean sauce added extra flavors that elevated the fish taste to a different level. I didn’t know you can use black bean sauce to steam fish too.Even a simple dish like pan fried long thing bean with garlic, it was cooked to perfection. The food was so flavorful and tasty. The texture of bean was tender and firm but not chewy. With all theses yummy food, the price for each dish is less than $11 and the portions are big.( just look at the pictures)This restaurant tends to get very busy during lunch time. Prepare to wait awhile for lunch. They only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. I understand this restaurant is owned by the same owner of Japanese restaurant next door.

Banana Bay Restaurant 2
5747 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Ive had Banana Bay at their Rowland Heights location and always found the food to be just okay. It wasnt until recently, when I was on the prowl for a late night restaurant that was still open, did I become reacquainted with the food at Banana Bay. Wow, have I been missing out! When they were still doing outdoor dining, my friend and I stopped by for a quick late-night meal right before they closed. Food was tasty, service was good, and we were in and out in under thirty minutes.Tried the House Tom Yum noodle soup ($8.99) which came in a pretty large bowl with a ton of ingredients. Besides the fried wonton chip, there was ground pork, peanuts, fish balls, fish cake, etc. with enough rice noodle to feed two people. Flavor of the soup was on point and had a good acidity to it.And of course, had to try their mango sweet sticky rice ($7.99). This is a seasonal dessert, and if youre able to order it while its in season, definitely do because it was super delicious! Im not a big sticky rice fan, but I thought the flavors were good and not too sweet. Pair that with the super ripe and sweet mango and youll have magic in your mouth! After that visit, we came back a few weeks later to order take-out. Had to try the popular Crispy Hainan Chicken rice ($9.49). Wow, I can see why so many people like this dish! The chicken was not only tasty, but super crispy and flavorful. While there were a few parts of the chicken that were a little fat, I was able to easily cut that off and continue eating. If youre a fan of crispy chicken (fried chicken for that matter), youll likely enjoy this dish as well. The sauce that comes with it is the perfect match with the rice and chicken. And its offered as one of the lunch specials on weekdays if you want to pair it with soup and salad.Theyre located in the TJ Maxx plaza - plenty of parking but some days you might have to drive around or park at a further spot. Sauces are available upon request. They get a ton of orders on weekends, so be prepared for a wait.tl;dr - Really enjoyed all of the dishes that we tried here at Banana Bay. Highly recommend the Crispy Hainan Chicken Rice if youre not sure what to order.
