Miyuki Restaurant
452 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
Appearance: slightly run down and in need of a new coat of paint, etc but also charming and has a comfortable, relaxed feeling to it that feels welcomingMenu: good selection of Japanese food with traditional dishes as wellFood: We ordered Sukiyaki beef which was quality beef in an overly salty broth; still edible but definitely only with mouthfuls of the vegetables. It came with miso and a typical salad of iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato and red cabbage with a delicious sesame dressing. The miso was quite good, but standard. Very balanced and light flavors. We also ordered Rainbow roll, unagi-avocado roll, and ume-shiso roll. All were standard. The Rainbow roll was prepared with a clear seaweed sheet on top that made it appear plastic but it added no overt flavor to the roll, which was delicious and fresh.Service: friendly and helpful, prompt and relaxedPrice: fair and good for what we orderedOverall Impression: This is one of the only quality restaurants open till 9 on a weeknight in Watsonville. It feels like a family-owned place that has been there for over 25 years. It is serving good, quality Japanese food and I would recommend it to anyone who is used to standard Japanese food in the US. It is definitely a diamond in the rough.
Imura Japanese Restaurant

Really delicious sashimi and sushi. I went there while traveling across. Its quality and quantity quite surprised me. Even if some good Japanese Restaurants in Bay Area may the same or higher level of taste, it would be at least double or triple of the price. Im planning my next road trip near Santa Cruz because of this restaurant. Really amazing!

Sushi QU

TL;DRAmbiance: Family FriendlyService: Friendly ServiceFood Quality: ExcellentPrice: $20+/personA small, 6-table and 4-seat bar, sushi restaurant specializing in Western style sushi. Situated in a quiet corner of the East Lake Plaza in Watsonville, this is the perfect place for a relaxed lunch, or a casual dinner. The menu is simple to read, it includes pictures of their specialty rolls and a few short lists of sushi mainstays, it covers the basics for seasoned sushi eaters or first-timers alike. My only desire would be for a greater selection of beers. On slow nights, there will only be one server, one kitchen staff, and the sushi chef. Weekends its usually +1 server and +1 kitchen staff. However, if the workload is heavy, be prepared to wait at least 5-10 minutes for a-la-carte orders, and 15-20 minutes for the rest of your order. The staff will gladly refill your drinks while you wait.Although other sushi places in town have a wider variety of seafood on the menu, Sushi Qu is my go-to for consistency on the freshness and taste of their seafood. It has always been delicate tasting, with no off-smells, and no funny aftertaste to wash down with beer. For their consistency in; quality of ingredients, service staff friendliness, and relaxed ambiance; Sushi Qu takes my pick for Top Sushi Joint in Town.
Watsonville City Plaza
358 Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
Fun, quaint, small town square in center of old town Watsonville, CA. Holds Farmers market every Friday afternoon. Needs more Farmers selling their goods, It mostly has food vendors. I like that they have organic products too. Theres mostly hispanic food and goods. It would be nice if more vendors came to sell a wider variety of goods. Its a great place to take the whole family. They usually have activities for kids 5 and under. I take my dog and he loves the excitement. Sometimes they have music and/or performers, then it gets really festive. Sometimes you get unexpected free goodies. During the Holidays a shelter was giving away free dog and cat collars. Last week they were putting out the word that they will be giving away bicycle lights for a community bike ride in a couple of weeks. They dont have enough seating at the plaza for the amount of people that go, so you might consider taking chairs or blanket if you dont want to sit on the grass. Parking can be tough. It takes time to get a spot, but people are constantly coming and going so they open up. Hours are 2pm - 7pm every Friday.

Sushi Garden Watsonville

Their portions are large! The meat is not dry like other local Japanese restaurants. It is pricey but you get enough food to maybe even take back home. We had good service too. It does take a little longer than usual to get your food but I think its because its nice and fresh. You also get free small plate of edamame at dine-in service
