Q Sushi

Fantastic sushi bar and Japanese restaurant. Great happy hour! If you like Old Fashions try the Spicy Old Fashion - great Japanese take on the traditional Old Fashion. Fish is very fresh and great traditional sushi. Some unique rolls that are excellent. If you like rice cakes try their appetizer made with forbidden rice - very good! And of you are sitting at the bar on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night ask to sit with Polly. She is the best!
Kansui Ramen (Westlake Village, CA)
2728 Townsgate Rd #6, Westlake Village, CA 91361, United States
Ramen connoisseur that's been to Japan and traveling around US. Focusing on Ventura I'm stuck between Hoshi Ramen and Kansui.Kansui has better Egg and stable broth.Hoshi Ramen has better broth/character (extra egg too). Both are fantastic options and recommend going back and forth because both provide different experiences.Atmosphere in Kansui nicer while Hoshi more hole in the wall but hole wall feels more homely. (Preference)I've been trying both for the last 4 months before this review. I just really love ramen and want to give my thoughts on who has best ramen in the area. Both are top notch but provide different experiences, I prefer hoshi cause broth more defined but damn Kansui egg easily the best very impressed.I wrote this review on my 3rd visit, each time ramen was great qualityEDIT June 6th: I'm a mega food critic because I care but since then this review felt bad because I can't properly rate on google. My initial review still stands, it's very consistent ramen and that's what they are selling. Could broth be better? From a ramen fanatic, yes but that's not the market they are aiming for. Around here competition is limited and people's pallets are limited. I've come here after work so many times and it's exactly what I expect, 9/10 ramen with 10/10 egg.Maybe big ask but if owners (lovely staff btw they remember people

This restaurant came with high expectations but we were extremely disappointed. This was levels below the other restaurant on the same Four Seasons property. The first thing we noticed was a fishy smell you'd get a low end sushi shop. Service was all over the place, with our plates piling up on the table (we had to move them ourselves to the empty table next to us) and our warm napkins never being removed at all. The waitstaff were friendly but not well trained on the details like sake options, despite the limited menu. The appetizers were decent at best. The chefs nigiri were served cold. The cherry blossom ice cream desert that appears in all of the ads around the hotel was tasteless. We went the next night to the other restaurant on the property and could feel the difference. Onyx feels like it's trying to be something that it's not.
E MON
2805 Agoura Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91361, United States
Where do I even begin?! This place is incredible! I have been to MANY sushi places all across the world (even in Japan) and I can confidently say this is one of the very best. The food is top-notch! Pretty much the best flavors you could ever get in sushi rolls! We ordered many different things this most recent visit to E⁺ MON - the Crispy Octopus Balls, Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna, Miso Soup, Teriyaki Chicken, Seared Salmon Breeze Roll, Hot ‘N Spicy Shrimp Popcorn Roll, Westlake Spicy Roll, and finally the Green Tea Banana Pudding for dessert! The octopus balls were REALLY good - I love takoyaki and usually always try them whenever I see them on a menu, and these were the best I’ve ever had, even better than those I’ve had in Japan. The Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna was perfectly crispy, and the tuna was super fresh and flavorful. Miso soup tasted exactly like it should (just really good miso soup…absolutely no complaints), Teriyaki Chicken was juicy, flavorful and not “cheap” or “artificial”-tasting like many other teriyaki chickens I’ve had. The three rolls we had were the stars of the show! Absolutely phenomenal - so many ingredients that all went together so nicely! I can’t wait to try them again!Lastly, who would’ve thought a dessert at a sushi restaurant ends up being one of my favorite ever?! Their Green Tea Banana Pudding was incredible! Best banana pudding I’ve ever had! If you have any room after your dinner, GET THIS! You won’t be disappointed! E⁺ MON is one of the best Japanese restaurants you will probably ever go to!
Seabutter - Westlake Village
180 Promenade Way Suite E, Westlake Village, CA 91362, United States
My wife and I had dinner here yesterday around 6pm.I would normally give this place a 3 because of the fish quality, but the value is decent for the price, the service was great, and it’s Westlake.Their fresh sushi is like a 2 out of 10 compared to higher end omakase in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills or the Valley on Ventura Blvd which have actual Japanese chef masters. If we’re talking about Westlake standards, it is probably a 7 or 8 since anything remotely okay is considered decent given that there’s a serious lack of authentic Japanese food in the area. For the price point and closeness to my house, it’s fine I guess but I’m pretty picky about sushi. Sugarfish in Calabasas which to me like a Tier 2 Sushi restaurant (Lower than Sushi in LA like Shin, Shunji, Tanaka, Iki, Soko, Yotsuya )has fresher fish but the service there is pretty bad sometimes and the wait is long during peak hours. If I had to choose sushi close by without driving more than 15 min, I personally would go to Sugarfish for their fish for an early dinner (less people around) and just suffer their mediocre service but I can see why people would prefer to go to a less crowded Seabutter and a shorter drive.

Cannot reccommend these guys enough!! bought corned beef brisket for our company st paddys day lunch here and the whole experience was a 100/10. everyone was blown away by the quality of the meat-- the only time they werent talking about how good it was was when they were too busy eating, lol. we do big lunches weekly but this was easily a favorite.im actually a pescetarian myself so unfortunately i didnt get to try the brisket, but they have a whole seafood section too & the crab cakes (which are handmade!) are amazing!! you can also get dry rubs/olive oil/etc from other small businesses at the shop as well, which is great. picked some up for my dad :)mike himself is a pleasure to speak with as well. hes personable and kind and very passionate about what he does. looking forward to next time. thank you mike & browns top shelf meats!! you made a lot of people very happy today!
Ox Bone Ramen
30869 E Thousand Oaks Blvd, Westlake Village, CA 91362, United States
Atmosphere is stylish, i liked dining in, and the staff is very nice and welcoming. We had the pulled pork cut roll as an appetizer, which was very good and reasonably priced at $6.50. But the ramen... we were really excited because bone marrow broth is rich and savory. We both got the ox bone original... but this broth was very bland and thin, almost flavorless. It does come with very tender and yummy brisket! But it doesnt come with the standard egg thats usually included with most ramen, its an extra $2 on top of an already overpriced bowl at $19, so you come out at $21 for a bowl you can get somewhere else for half the price that tastes better. I honestly wont try the ramen again. It was the blandest Ive ever had. But! We got the green tea banana pudding dessert which was very yummy (doesnt taste like actual matcha but still) and they had other things like rice bowls that I would be willing to go back and try.
Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, California
2 Dole Dr, Westlake Village, CA 91362, United States
Well, well, well. This place is FANCY. Yes, I realize it's a Four Seasons and that by default, they're going to be fancy but honestly the rooms made me feel like I was in a princess' bedroom (those cabinets!!). But first...Let me preface by saying that I don't have Four Seasons kind of money. I am not a part of that income bracket and I most likely never will be. I only got to stay there because my organization was hosting an event there. So I'm not a frequenter of five-star hotels or things like that and my bar is set pretty low in comparison so keep that in mind. ‘Cause to me, everything seemed so great!First off, the staff and service is beyond great. Oh my gosh, the people that work here are so nice and have such an attention to detail. It's really next level. I would say they are constantly looking to go out of their way to make you feel at home but they're not. I don't think they want you to feel at home. They want you to feel like you're a first-class lady that lives a first-class life every day because that's just the norm for you. And for some of the visitors to the hotel, that is their norm. But for others, like me, that's not. And not once did I ever feel like I didn't get as good of service just because I wasn't like most of the people staying there. I appreciated that. A lot of the time I was like “wow!” and “oh my gosh look at the reading lights above the bed!” I very clearly was not someone used to this level of service but they didn't take short cuts ever. The beds. Oh Lordy are those beds comfortable! I would buy them for myself if I could ever afford to. And the comforters were dangerous. They were too comfy and it's a genuine miracle I ever made it out of my room. If you use their app, you can set your room preferences in advance which is (I'm going to say it again) great. Also, something I appreciate was that I set my thermostat to the level I like (higher than most people) and they didn't turn it back down when they came to flip the room. In my experience, most hotels will change it back to whatever their standard is which makes it too cold for me when I come back in. But not once did the Four Seasons change it back which means I was always perfectly comfortable in my room. I really appreciated that detail.Overall I really liked the decor. It's an unusual fusion of Asian-inspired design and feminine Victorian-esque design. It's interesting but it works surprisingly well.Location wise, it's not a great place to be if you want to be out and about doing stuff. There's some really yummy restaurants nearby (breakfast at CiCi's is to die for) and a Target but not much else. But that's not what this location is really for anyway. It's really designed as a retreat-like health and wellness experience so, for that purpose, it's exactly where it needs to be (surrounded by beautiful mountains). If you do need to go somewhere while you're there, they do have a house car that will take you to and from any location within a 3-mile radius. But do keep in mind that if you need to get to and from LAX to your hotel quickly, this is NOT the place to stay. It took us an hour and a half to get from LAX to this hotel thanks to LA traffic. As a staff member of an organization holding an event there, I can say it was some of the best service we've ever had. We host five medium-sized events every year and I've had to deal with all sorts of varying hotel service quality. At this hotel though, everything they do they seem to do smoothly. They were always very responsive to our requests and quick to follow up. They treated our staff respectfully and pretty much gave us whatever we needed. Now I didn't try the main reason why people visit: the spa. I didn't try it because I couldn't afford it. So I can't give any feedback on it. Though, two of my coworkers went and said they had a fantastic experience.Overall, if you ever get the opportunity to stay here, take it. Even if it's just for a night. It's a lovely space with top-notch service and really friendly people. I highly recommend.
