Flame Broiler
22485 El Toro Rd Suite B, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
Ive been to this flame broiler 3 times in the last month and each time has been more and more disappointing. This last time will be my last. I will drive across town to another or go to waba.Basically all 3 visits involved the same employee. So hispanic lady on her cell phone while taking orders and making orders. First time more order was wrong, i said ok whatever ill deal with it. Second time, my wife and i stopped in to get a quick bowl after the gym. Order made completely wrong by the lady who took our order and made or order, doing both while on her cell phone. Then she has the nerve to give us attitude when we asked for the correct order.Today was the last straw for me. I ordered a vegi bowl with rice (trying to eat lite before run) im handed a bowl filled with chicken and veggies. I brought it to her attention, im given an attitude by her because im apparently interrupting her call or whatever. A few minutes later im handed a bowl filled with cold veggies, maybe half a spoon of rice, and filled with water, yes water. Absolutely unacceptable. I will not go to this flame broiler again, good luck to the management.
Ummas K-BBQ
24531 Trabuco Rd Unit G, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
A local buzzing counter order Korean bbq restaurant. Umma's offers a number of different meat dishes served over rice with a choice of home made banchan (side dishes). They are so proud of all of their items that they couldn't even single one out to recommend, rather that any that I choose I would like.Their dishes come in two sizes, “mini” and “regular”, although I think it would be more appropriate to call them “regular” and “large”, as the mini portion was already a full meal.I ended up ordering the bulgogi (BBQ beef) plate, and it was delicious. The meat is well seasoned and well flavored and goes great with the rice. It is not overly sweet or salty, and you do get a generous serving. The meat is cooked to order, so it comes out steaming hot fresh to eat, at the cost of a small wait time to cook. They have a number of side dishes, which they are also very proud of. Macaroni salad, bean sprouts, kimchi, seasoned tofu, chap chae (glass noodles), spicy cucumber, etc.The restaurant also offers family packs with larger servings to go, and catering options.

A great new Korean addition to Lake Forest. Food is great. Staff are courteous. Restaurant is modern and clean. Definitely worth stopping in for lunch or dinner.

I honestly think this is a great location, never have to wait, always available stations. Besides all the amenities, grocery shopping ?, casual restaurants of all kinds, Italian, Mediterranean, Korean, Japanese amount other facilities. A dry cleaning near by is key for me. Very pleased!

Good things come to those who wait! It took about 45 minutes to get a table during the Saturday morning rush. It was busy the whole time. What does that tell you? They are doing something right.Despite the crowd, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was hearty and tasty. They did a good job keeping our iced tea glasses full, bringing napkins, and other stuff we requested. The food came out in a reasonable time, even though the kitchen was absolutely slammed with orders. The two cooks were doing an amazing job - Im still not sure how they were getting it all done so efficiently. The food itself was fresh and hot, classic home cooked style. I ordered the garden omelette, and added ham. It was incredibly tasty and stuffed full of all the ingredients. The hollandaise sauce on top was an awesome touch. Note they serve breakfast all day which is great for those of us who love to sleep in on the weekends! The rest of the classic diner menu options looked good as well. Our kids also ate every scrap of their meals, which is the ultimate test. If the kids like it, you know its a good restaurant!By the time we were finished, I had a new appreciation for why it was so crowded. This place serves great breakfast comfort food. We will definitely be back.
Uoko Sushi and Japanese Cuisine

I was born in Japan, grew up in Kansai, and moved to America. Recently, the number of Korean-run sushi restaurants has increased, and I dislike it because sushi with strange things and sauce on it, isn’t proper sushi. Anyone can make sushi, but if you want authentic sushi, I’d highly recommend Uoko restaurant. Uoko is a safe quality restaurant that is Japanese owned, with Japanese sushi chefs and servers and serves real Japanese sushi at an affordable price.
Kanji AYCE Sushi

I don't usually leave reviews, unless something is really good or really bad. Unfortunately, in this case it was the second one. We came friday night with my girlfriends an hour before closing time, at first we were not told that the kitchen is closing at 9 but just given menus for ayce, by the time we decided what we wanted we were told about the kitchen closing and that we can only order one more time after this one (even though it says that the place is closing at 9:30), if we knew we wouldn't come here in the first place. But we were so hungry and it was late already, so we decided to order a la carte instead. The music was sooo loud and so obnoxious (think house techno and club pop), I felt like i am in the club and not in a sushi place. We couldn't hear each other and after some time we asked to lower it, to which they said “ok” but it didn't get any better. Our male server was kind and patient but another lady (asian lady with blonde hair, a lead or manager, idk) kept coming to our table, rushing us to order while screaming (maybe she lost her hearing because of the loud music and had to scream now, who knows), we felt stressed because of the music, because she rushed us, and was talking to us in a loud tone. She was also running around the restaurant and talking to other servers very loudly. To be fair, the food was 5/5- tasty, fresh, good looking … no complaints there… but the service and the atmosphere… I didn't have such a bad experience in years. I think the management should know about this to create more pleasant experience for their guests in the future
Sushi Yaki
22851 Lake Forest Dr # A, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
Don't really know what to say about this place except they're very lazy and don't care about making the customer happy. The sushi is actually pretty good but the edamame is COLD with no salt at all (who goes to a restaurant for cold food with no flavor?), & the salad was sitting there with dressing on it so when I asked for them to remake it since it was soggy and they have no idea how much dressing I like on my salad or how long of a drive I have home that it would've just been getting more soggy in, hey were complaining about it and didn't want to remake it. After they finally decided to remake it, they didn't give me any dressing and said “you already have dressing” because I asked for an extra one at first. I'm like why wouldnt I need extra now when I obviously asked for extra already? They kept trying to fight me on everything I asked for. They don't care about making you happy and just want to do the bare minimum. Not going back.
