Seoul Korean Corndog & Fried Chicken
3030 Plaza Bonita Rd #2450, National City, CA 91950, United States
A clear example of “Trying to do too much”. A place that sells corn dogs and fries - sure! But having 2-3 employees to prepare chicken, corn dogs, fries, ddeok-bokki in an incredibly saturated mall is far too much work. The place either needs to hire more staff or cut away products from the menu. I have legitimately walked away without getting my corn dogs nearly an hour after ordering them. I have asked once where's my order and once it was apparent they have forgotten about me *again* I decided that I would rather eat the $11 I have spent than waiting potentially another hour for two incredibly simple dishes. The owner *needs to do better*. I am not blaming the overwhelmed employees because I would be as well. You either hire more staff or make adjustments, not add more items to the menu since their menu was smaller upon opening. You have to do better.
Sushi & Galbi

I came in to the restaurant and ask to be seated next to the TV. The debate was on and since it was the final debate it was important that I was able to watch it. She hesitated to seat me there but I insisted and sat down. After I sat down she handed me the menu and I looked it over and when it was time to order I placed my order and she told me that I could not drink my Gatorade that I brought in. I told her I was either going to drink my Gatorade or I would leave. She said yes and walked away... So my food comes out to the table and she sees me drinking the Gatorade and she reached over and touched it and said u drank this much Gatorade you cannot drink it. I told again that if I was not able to drink my Gatorade then I would leave and never come back. She said that is fine so I asked to speak to the owner I further explained to her that she was being disrespectful and in realistic. She told me she was the owner and I can either leave or not drink my drink. Seriously that was the worst business decision I have ever seen an owner make. She lost thousands of dollars and customers over a stupid rule. This is the united States since when can I not drink a Gatorade while I eat... I honestly think she dont want customers and she is laundering money for a biger scam somewhere. Either way this place is shady and probably doing something illegal that is the only reason an owner would give up customers over such a stupid communist rule. DONT EAT HERE TRUST ME! Not to mention the food was horrible and the place is empty... And now everyone knows why its empty.... Go eat at a different sushi joint I guarantee they are better and cheaper.

Was super excited to find time to come here. They werent too busy and we were seated right away. Started off wth a 6 piece Takoyaki appetizer and they came out nice and hot. But after a few bites found that the fried octopus ball only contained a sliver of meat. I ended up eating a giant fried dough ball which was overwhelmingly covered in a sweet sauce over cabbage. Put more meat and less sauce and they would have had something Id come back for, but as it was, pretty disappointing. We also had the chicken sliders for an appetizer, honestly, all i can say was that it was very dry and lacked any flavor. We had chosen the soy garlic. The only flavor that peeked out was the cole slaw.Main entree was the Bulgogi dish and the Chicken Fried Rice. The Bulgogi was average. The Bulgogi was on a bed of onions that were freshly cut and provided a nice contrast to the Bulgogi. It werent for the super oiliness of the Bulgogi, I felt it could have tasted better. The Chicken Fried Rice felt like food you could get at a buffet, precooked rice sitting in a chafing dish, and a choice of meat mixed in when ordered. It did not come out hot, which was a bummer. Any fried rice, imo, taste better hot. Just underwhelming. We really came to try the chicken wings and ordered the small 50/50 boneless wings in sweet red chili and soy garlic. For a place proud of their chicken, I found it truly disappointing. The chicken may have been prefried and sitting in a chafing dish, because there was zero crunch, the texture was hard, and the chicken was not juicy or tender. The sweet red chili sauce felt like a last minute brush on, taste was bland, and the soy garlic flavor was practically missing.Overall, came in with high expectations and left wondering if Id ever come back. For the prices, I think Id be better off getting fried chicken anywhere else. The only real positive, if I can say it, is the food was definitely IG ready. Imo a solid 3 star eatery.

This place has a really different vibe. I came in expecting it to be a fast casual eatery, but as soon as we arrived we were seated. There was a register area like any fast food place but apparently thats only used for to-go orders. The staff were super friendly and helped us look over the menu since this was the first time we were there. Definitely come at lunch time if you want to get a deal on this delicious chicken. The variety of sauce options was off the charts. Most places only have usually three or four flavors to choose from and this place had more than 10. My wife and I tried the honey garlic chicken and the Galbi chicken. We will definitely be coming back because we got to try all those options. One thing to be on the lookout is that ordering ranch sauce is not free. We didnt realize that until the end of the meal and that was a little annoying. I really did love the atmosphere there. It was clean and simple but I only gave it four stars because there was a bit of a chemical smell. They probably had just recently cleaned but it lingered throughout the meal. Our server Consuelo was really nice And she was helping us in every situation while also taking care of all thats our goal orders. It was impressive to watch. If the place is busier that may mean slower service in the future. Hopefully theyll hire more staff.

Almost back to normal, all protocols including wearing masks are enforced. We are inside at Red Robin, so many bottomless dishes & sides! Excellent food & service. Get vaccinated & get out! Many new food places! Quite a variety. Good AC, plenty of parking. New restaurants: Tajima, a new Korean place (not listed yet), and the old favorites.
Ice Box
1430 E Plaza Blvd, National City, CA 91950, United States
You would think that the self-serve boba would be cheaper, but not only is it more expensive than any other bubble tea location- the quality is sub par. Ive had bubble tea literally all over the world and theirs definitely taste like powder only. The selection is extremely limited as well, so $5.50-$6 for a drink is definitely too high for a self-serve.I also ordered a large serving of their bulgogi fries, which taste good but nothing to rave about. Same as any other place you can get bulgogi fries from, and it doesnt help that they serve it to you in a large box thats HALF filled ($10). So i can only imagine how little they must serve in their half size serving box. Ive had bulgogi fries from different locations and when they charge $10 for full size, the box is full of fries to the top. Ice box skimps on this heavily and charges sooo much for it as well. You could fit their large size serving in their half size box 100%. They just lay it out flat so it looks like a lot but it doesnt even touch the top of the take out box. I could put it all to one side and that would be their half serving size. i saw so many positive reviews but this was such a disappointing place to spend $20 at lol.
