YD Tofu House Restaurant
5609 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95822, United States
This is the closest Korean restaurant to the pocket that we know of. Parking is a challenge here if you want park close. Service here has for the most part been has very good. They do a lot of plastic cups and dishes here. The side dishes are varied and good but they definitely use syrup over sugar in the side dishes that are a bit sweet, imho.Normally we go here for bulgogi or kalbi and the quality of the meat has been all over the map. We prefer a lightly marinated version with a focus on the quality of the meat. Lately it seems they have been focusing on a heavy marinade especially for the bulgogi. The kimchi is average. When rating compare to other restaurant kimchees. Dont expect homemade quality kimchee. Most restaurant kimchees are one note, mainly just cabbage. Homemade often has a variety of vegetables as part of the red pepper paste stuffing. For the Sacramento area and specifically for the pocket this is as good as it gets for Korean food. If you want kalbi and dont need the side dishes go to the Hawaiian place on greenhaven and florin its the best deal you can get imho, 3 LA kalbi for under $10 plus you can get 3 scoops of brown rice too.

Its not the most authentic Korean restaurant, but the protein is tasty and buffet is reasonably-priced.The Bento Box lunches are a fantastic deal! 12$ for the food pictured, plus Miso soup.

I had great experience in this restaurant. I was looking for Korean Restaurant since I came in US. However, I couldnt really find the good place which serves good food and has nice atmosphere. This place was the best restaurant that has great meat quality and even kind servers. I highly recommend this place for family dinner time or Korean barbecue place.

Gen Korean BBQ House
1689 Arden Wy Ste 1148 Ste 1148, Sacramento, CA 95815, United States
Hm. I want to first add that its awesome the Asian cuisine is coming to Sacramento, of course other than Chinese or Thai. The Korean restaurants are starting to become more popular in Sacramento but they are either a hit or miss. With this place recently opening, I was pretty excited for another KBBQ to show up. With OZ and Bluehouse already established here in Sac, Gen was coming into a market that had already had some pretty good choices.Lets start with the location. Its located in Arden Mall, where Maggianos once was. So theres a lot of foot traffic and plenty of parking. The inside was pretty spacious, seems like theres a lot of grills and seating... compared to the other KBBQ places, this I think is on the bigger side. Ventilation was pretty good too, I didnt really notice smoke and I was smelling less like KBBQ at the end of the meal.Service was pretty great, they were super attentive, cleared out dishes really quickly, and had our waters pretty much full the whole time. Our waitress and waiter checked up on us pretty frequently, so we didnt feel neglected. Before we start with the food, I have to mention that they bring you frozen meat... our samgyupsal and bulgogi came frozen... not COMPLETELY frozen, but frozen none-the-less. Frozen meat tends to be a little more dry vs fresh meat.... some may not notice the difference, but veteran KBBQ fans will.Heres what we ended up getting; both spicy and regular bulgogi, honey chicken and garlic chicken, samgyupsal ( aka pork belly - regular, smoked, and hawaiian bacon), chadol (brisket), premium steak, and cajun shrimp.Lets start with your typicals... Bulgogi, regular samgyupsal and chadol (brisket). If youre going to a KBBQ, more often than not... youre going to order these three. They were OK.... the taste of the bulgogi wasnt all that grand, it was just meh. The marinade for me just didnt cut it...I really couldnt pinpoint what exactly didnt work, but it just didnt. The samgyupsal and chadol... you really cant mess those up.. so those were actually pretty good. The chicken wasnt that great. They both were lacking the flavor and it ended up tasting like your typical store bought chicken. This was also same for the premium steak, it didnt taste premium at all to us, much like the chicken, it had a store bought taste. The smoked samgyupsal was probably the worst of the bunch. Whatever they use to smoke the meat, ruined it. It was a really salty honey bacon musty flavor. We ended up not finishing the first slice, and the 2nd slice remained untouched. The hawaiian bacon was actually really good, the sweetness of the pineapple and the saltyness of the teriyaki sauce really balanced out the taste, so this actually brought it back around. We liked this one alot.Lastly, was the Cajun shrimp. I dont eat shrimp too often, the shrimp, or at least the one I got, wasnt deveined.. so I got some poop....which meant I didnt eat the rest. Finally if you come to a KBBQ there are somethings that youd always expect. One. Bonchons (aka side dishes) there was 4-5...and they were just meh. Regular Kimchi, Korean potato salad, cucumber Kimchi, pickled fish cakes, and Kimchi radish. Two. RICE THATS READY. We waited 40 MINS for RICE. Seriously? Now of course, some people dont mind not eating KBBQ with rice, but Im Filipino and if Im going to a Asian restaurant and I ask for rice, the rice better be freaking ready with our food. Also, Three. Corn Cheese... this just the fat person talking now.. but seriously, everyone else has Corn Cheese. In all honesty, we probably wont come back. Bluehouse is 5 mins away and although, has a smaller selection, they have better quality and taste.

Modurang Family Korean Restaurant
9545 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95827, United States
We were in town visiting families and we had the pleasure of dining at Modurang Family Korean Restaurant, a local favorite that came highly recommended. Our party of seven embarked on a culinary journey, exploring the extensive BBQ menu along with a delightful pot of soup. The array of side dishes was impressive, so much so that some of us were nearly full before the main attractions arrived! The standout dishes for our table were the pot of soup and the grilled short ribs - both were exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, not everything hit the mark; the chicken and beef bulgogi were a bit of a letdown due to their dryness. What truly made our experience memorable, aside from the food, was the excellent customer service. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and incredibly helpful, ensuring our dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. It's this level of care and attention that makes Modurang stand out.If youre a fan of Korean cuisine and appreciate a warm, welcoming dining atmosphere, Modurang is definitely worth a visit. Just be sure to leave room for their delightful soup and short ribs!

Bullta Bar Korean Bbq

Friday, 3/03/2023 - Finally got to try Bullta Korean BBQ. Address is 8353 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95826. This restaurant is located in a plaza where youll see 99 Cent & More store, Raleys store, and other restaurants and small businesses. When we arrived, they were busy. They dont do reservations for small parties. We had a party of 5 and no reservations could be made. But, when we arrived, the wait wasnt long for a table. We waited like maybe 10 to 15 minutes only. Upon arrival:Pros:1) plenty of parking. It was easy for us to find parking.2) the hostess was so nice. She explained how it worked there. There were different sections in the menu to choose from.3) our server was very nice. She checked on us several times.4) water tasted great. No funky or metal taste.5) plates and cups were stainless steal, I believe. All very clean. Utensils were clean.6) their side food dishes are set up buffet style towards the back. Lots of sides to pick from. I liked everything I got.7) we picked the Bullta Family Course . Its $35.95 per person and kids 10 and under are $21.95. This was plenty of food for us.8) they had items to make Smores. My little one was so excited for it.9) their bathroom was pretty cool too. It was all bling bling looking. It was very clean.Cons:No consConclusion:I liked this restaurant. It was nice. Wait wasnt long when we arrived. Staff/servers were nice. Foods tasted great. Side dishes were plenty and tasted good. Bathroom clean. As we were walking out, the hostess even came to say good-bye to us and made sure we liked everything.

Seapot Hot Pot & Korean BBQ
6009 Florin Rd, Sacramento, CA 95823, United States
Trying out this newly soft opening Korean bbq and pot restaurant and my review is next. Service and atmosphere is absolutely amazing and exceeded anything or restaurants I very been to. The new concept of getting your own foods through converter belts are fun and easy. However, the foods selection are average and not that fresh. . But the service definitely makeup for the gaps. Highly recommended to tryout and experience it yourself.
