LA Kung Fu Noodle
944 W Foothill Blvd, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
I stumbled on this place after some Happy Hour plans fell through. I hadn't eaten all day so their simple but varied menu piqued my interest. I called in my order of cucumber salad, beef roll, spicy wonton, and pumpkin pancake before heading over. The restaurant is located in an easy-to-find plaza with ample parking. They're definitely new as a gentleman was hanging their storefront sign when I arrived. He greeted me as I made my way to the restaurant and I was also greeted right away when I entered. My food was ready and definitely freshly cooked as I snuck a bite of the pumpkin pancake once I got into my car. I was expecting it to be like the scallion pancake - a flakey dough with perhaps some pumpkin mixed through - but it was actually more like chewy, mildly sweet breaded pumpkin mochi. It was so. Good! I just finished eating dinner and my mouth is watering just thinking of those first bites.I drove home and sampled the rest of the dishes. The cucumber salad was light and refreshing as one would expect. The beef roll was smaller than other places and appeared to be deep fried versus the usual pan-fry but it wasn't greasy at all. The spicy wontons were also solid though light on the sauce and hardly spicy. With that said, I wouldn't hesitate ordering said dishes again.I moved to the area from the San Gabriel Valley and have been missing the top notch Asian food there. I typically still make my way to the 626 every other week or to get my fix but this place would definitely hold their ground against the best Taiwanese places in SGV! Plus so much more friendly, lol. I'm looking forward to trying more from their menu!

Go to Go Chicken

My husband and I love Korean Chicken. (My hubby is actually half Korean...) We usually go to the other chicken place is Rancho Cucamonga, but someone recommended Go to Go Chicken to us so we had to check it out.Theyre located in the same plaza where Fitness 19 is; by the Smoke Shop. My husband called ahead to place our order because we knew it take a while (up to 35 minutes). When we arrived our order was ready! Funny because we saw some people waiting outside for their order and we just got ours and left (in and out).We ordered the boneless Korean BBQ chicken, crispy chicken, gyoza, and fries. Comparing to the other place, the price was less expensive. This place seems like its family owned and run. When we got home to eat, the fries could have been cooked a little longer, but other than that everything was so good. The chicken had both white and dark meat pieces, not too saucy, and still hot and delicious. The gyoza also had good flavor. We may actually start coming here now versus our usually go to Korean chicken spot. Next time we need to try the wings.
Absolutely PC Computer Repair,Mac Repair, iPhon...

I was not satisfied with my experience here.I brought in a laptop I was hoping to diagnose for an issue, and I was not treated very well. When he started opening my computer, I wanted to make small talk to see if he had any guess on the problem, so I asked him if he had ever worked with my kind of laptop before. He looked up and, in a rather condescending way, asked me if I was doubting his ability to repair it, then went on to say that basically all laptops are the same. As he got deeper into it, he scolded me for having bought it from someone else, and that my issue could be related to a dent on the corner where it looked like it had been dropped. I explained that the dent was there before the computer stopped working, but he still gave me some grief for the condition. I know that the dent or damage from the dent wasnt the issue, because it was working fine for me for many months, and looking back, I believe the issue stemmed from a drink spill. He did do a diagnostic for free, which was good. He didnt end up finding the issue, however I do not fault him for that at all, especially considering that this was in the time frame of my visit. However, he had swapped out a component for one of his own to test if it was the problem part, and when he swapped mine back in, he forgot to put the screw back in to hold the card in place. I pointed it out, and he in an arrogant fashion, insisted that the screw was from the plate on his. I managed to fix my laptop myself, but it is missing the screw, and the part that is held by it is having trouble, which is frustrating. The final thing that I didnt like was that he had swapped my laptop charger wall cord with his own cord, but took my cord and gave me back my charger with his generic wall cord. I hadnt noticed this until I had left the shop, so I didnt think to go back in and exchange it.I dont doubt that he is a knowledgeable computer person, and I understand that this could have just been a bad day for him, but small oversights can end up causing big problems. I am a customer, and when I come in with an issue that means he has a job, I do expect a certain level of appreciation for my decision to bring my business there. I dont want to be lectured on why my decision to acquire the computer wasnt the best, and I dont want to leave with my computer in slightly worse condition than when I brought it in.Overall, from my experience, there are probably better places to go than Absolutely PC.
Takahashi Market
221 S Claremont St, San Mateo, CA 94401, United States
Being born & raised in Hawaii and being away from home, makes you realize the food & atmosphere you truly miss from your roots. Living in the SF Bay Area, I am fortunate enough to have access to places like Takahashi Market. It is humble establishments (been around for a long time - decades!) like this that allow me to visit the ‘Aina within the physical context of my local area.Takahashi Market easily transports you to Hawaii, right when you step foot into their parking space! The space itself is a 1 story building at an intersection in San Mateo (close to downtown and the Verkada, a tech company's office). Because the space is small and we have to be precautious during these times, there usually is a line outside the door to queue patrons to enter the building. Standing in line allows you to build your excitement as you are able to peek into the market and get a sense of what aspects of Hawaii it is able to offer. In the market, there is only a small amount of cashier registers in the front and about 4-5 isles of Hawaii/Asia-inspired goodies to choose from! From perishable foods to hot musubis to Hawaii-based clothing merchandise, it seems like Takahashi Market has it all! I'd say this place is like a Swapmeet (Hawaii dubbed Flea Market) in a 1-story building! Even the prices are right on the dot for most, if not all, items! But you want to be careful that you don't end up buying everything in the market.I will always keep coming back here! I hope one day, the market may be able to expand to a 2nd story or location if possible. I can only see Takahashi Market continuing to maintain and grow its fanbase! And with that, I hope it will mean more resources to expand. If not, I am still fine with this, as the small Hawaii vibes are already excellent as is at the market. Thank you Takahashi Market Ohana for all you do!
Dr. Grubbs
373 W Bonita Ave, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
Come eat here! Found this little gem while looking for healthier fast food options, and oh man! What a find! ?AMBIANCE: Casual restaurant with tables as well as a very large bar area that you can sit and eat at. Music playing the night I went was house/pop at a respectable volume. I wound up Shazaming many a song. You place your order at the register and find a seat. The staff brings your food to you.SERVICE: We were helped by Victor, who was extremely friendly and helpful! Made specific food suggestions, which was helpful as a first-timer. After I commented on how much I love sauces, he even threw in a couple of extra sauces so that we could try the different flavors, which was SUPER appreciated! He was very friendly when bringing our food and was just very nice overall.FOOD: The food was DELICIOUS! Just looking at the pictures Im posting makes my mouth water ? My friend and I got the plate combos, which include a protein, one side, and a sauce. We each added a second side to each plate for an additional $2.Plate 1: Chicken satay, baby potatoes, hot penne pasta, peanut sauce.Plate 2: Blackened salmon, vegetable medley, herb white rice, jalapeño garlic sauce.Plate 3: Blackened chicken (a la carte)All the food was a 10/10! Everything tasted as good as it looked. I was surprised at how flavorful all the food was, considering how simply they appeared to season it (pepper and herbs). The chicken satay was moist and perfect with the peanut sauce. The blackened salmon was flavorful and juicy. The blackened chicken was also quite tasty, but if I had to choose between the blackened chicken or salmon, Id probably stick with the salmon. Although the vegetables and baby potatoes were my two favorites, we liked all of the sides we got. Of the sauces, I really liked the peanut sauce and the jalapeño garlic sauce. We couldnt stop commenting on how simple and tasty everything was, which was exactly what I was looking for.FINAL TAKEAWAY: ?? Two thumbs way up! I liked the laid-back vibes of this restaurant, and Victors welcoming demeanor really helped set a nice tone for our dinner. The food was healthy, simple, and delicious, and the cost was reasonable (I think our bill came out to about $45 pre-tip). I will definitely be coming back to Dr. Grubbs any chance I get, and you should definitely give it a try!
Priceless Pets Rescue- Adoption Center Claremont
665 E Foothill Blvd E, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
I have visited this rescue three times because I want to adopt an emotional service animal. I am a college student with severe spinal cord damage (I have less than a millimeter left at one junction) that causes me daily pain and prevents me from completing many everyday tasks. I am unable to drive. Each time I visited, I had a wonderful time interacting with the cats and kittens and the volunteer staff were all wonderful. On the last visit, I was particularly taken with a kitten there by the name of Noodles who was being permanently transported to the Chino Hills cat cafe the next day. However, I wanted to visit Upland shelter to see a few cats there the next day before making my final decision, so I was unable to adopt him the day of. I talked to a volunteer about this, who connected me with the manager of Priceless. We exchanged phone numbers, and I agreed to contact her by 2:30pm to let her know if I wanted Noodles.Today, I did not find my forever friend at Upland. I texted the manager at 1:49pm stating that I would like to adopt Noodles. At this point, I had already left Upland. She responded that Noodles had already been moved to the cat cafe, despite our agreement. When I reminded her we had agreed that I would let her know by 2:30, she simply responded: The transporter needed to do it earlier. These plans were already set before you had come in yesterday. I did ask for her to come as late as possible. They left here at 1:20. Chino Hills is thirty minutes away by car, and would cost 40 dollars round trip. I do not have that kind of money as a college student.I visited the store to talk to her person shortly after I received the message. She was brusque and unapologetic, stating simply that she was not obligated to contact me to let me know that the transporter was arriving. Furthermore, she questioned whether or not I even had the right to own an ESA. She also stated that owning a cat in a dorm is not good for it, despite the fact that I witnessed her personally process the adoption of a dog as an ESA to a fellow Scripps student yesterday. Not only did she act as if I was an abled bodied person who doesnt deserve an ESA, the manager talked down to me. When I asked her if she could swap Noodles with another cat from Priceless, that I cannot drive due to my disability, she flat out refused. I spoke to her in a level tone and tried to reason with her, but she made it seem like I was the one who was in the wrong.I am absolutely heartbroken and humiliated by her attitude. Throughout our interaction, both online and person, the manager of the Claremont branch of Priceless Pets acted as if I were some stupid entitled kid demanding something unreasonable of her. I will suffer from my disability all my life. There is no cure for such extreme nerve damage. To have her question whether I should even have such an accommodation so important to me and treat me so rudely when I did nothing wrong absolutely ruined my day. I was even thinking about volunteering at Priceless, but I will never return so long as the manager works there.
Blue Fin Sushi & Teriyaki
665 E Foothill Blvd Unit J, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
Stopped here randomly after the place on google said it was open but was actually closed. Its a nice little spot with outdoor dining but what really deserves the 5 stars is the lady that provides ha service and of course the food. She greeted us with such a bubbly personality and told us to come see her when we were ready. We were sitting outside and once we got up to order she ran in super exited like we were her first customer and extremely happy for our order. When she delivered the food she came out and named everything we ordered while placing it. The sushi was great, we ordered 5 appetizers, 2 rolls and 2 green teas and was only about 50 bucks. Last thing my wife said was Im coming back here not just for the good but for that lady, she was so happy. Love that kinda service and type of people ❤️

Pizza N Such
202 N Yale Ave, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
Edit: A few minutes after leaving this review I received a call from the restaurant. They apologized for the way my situation was handled and that nothing was done or offered on their part while I was there waiting patiently. I really do appreciate the prompt call to rectify the poorly handled situation. They more than made up for the poor experience. I am glad as me and my family have been here multiple times and usually have A+ service.Original review: I'm not one for leaving negative reviews but this experience was ridiculous. I called 15 mins before arriving at the restaurant placing a take out order for a simple medium pepperoni pizza. I arrived a little after 15 mins and was told it would be an additional 10 mins. No biggie, I was told over the phone it would be 15-20 mins. I wait over 15 minutes and someone finally come up to me and lets me know that they “accidentally” gave my pizza away. This order was for my kids and they were in the car waiting with my wife. I was told they were remaking my order but offered nothing as an apology. I waited another 20 minutes for the bloody pizza. I was there a total of over 30 minutes waiting for a medium pepperoni pizza. How does this happen with 5 people walking around “working”!?
