Huong Lan Sandwiches 5 & Beef Noodle
39055 Cedar Blvd #116, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Ive been a long time returner to Huong Lan Sandwiches and the Noodle House that is in the shared space. In fact, I remember when it first opened. Honestly, nowadays, I return because of the bahn mi. The customer service is hit or miss, depending on who you interact with. But, no matter what, I am a fan of Bahn Mi and will continue to return when I crave Vietnamese sandwiches.Usual food order:Korean KBBQ Beef Bahn mi and Korean Spicy Beef Sandwich - Both are delicious and to be frank, I really enjoy most bahn mis and I like how they have these marinated options for the meat.I usually do take out: order, head to the bakery/deli/Lion supermarket, come back to pick up my order. I go to other places since it does take a while for the sandwiches to be put together, and additional time for the baguettes to be baked.

DPS Auto Repair Inc
5588 Central Ave # H, Newark, CA 94560, United States
I called DPS Auto and Radiator Repair Shop because I needed a Radiator. Mario and his son were very polite and honest. Mario showed me the leak in the Radiator. I most say the job was quick and the price they had quoted was very reasonable. I would defiantly bring my car back for any repairs. I wouldve given them 10 stars if I could.
Hinodeya Newark
5724 Thornton Ave B, Newark, CA 94560, United States
This is probably the second or probably third Hinodeya location I've been to in the Bay Area…?! And Hinodeya does not fail with their ramen ? honestly. I was rather quite impressed with this location, but became a little critical… but that's always a foodie's dream, as always. My friend and I decided to get Hinodeya after calling the restaurant and asking if they could take out bamboo shoots and seaweed (friend's personal preference), and they were absolutely accommodating. Hence, we went because we knew we were in for an experience. The chicken karaage was honestly a little bit disappointing — to say the least. While the chicken was good, the portion was a little too small. I had wished they could have served a bigger plate, because that for $10 was not really worth it.Then came the ramen. The broth was really rich and honestly I could taste how strong the dashi taste was. The wheat noodles were very spongy and very al dente, which was enough to mix along with the other things in there. Good crunchy garlic side too. The meat was very yummy and so was the spinach…The only thing i would have liked to see was a little bit more soup… it was a little too less and it got saturated by the noodles a little too fast. Now the atmosphere is honestly mid. I honestly would have wished the tables were more spread apart — but it's such a tight space where I had to be very aware of my surroundings. The location is prime location, just I wish they could have considered putting less chairs instead of so many more chairs.I'll definitely be coming back to eat here with my other friends — but for the meantime, I'm gonna let this location sit for now, and try the other ones.
Wakatobi Japanese Grill Hibachi and Sushi
35201 Newark Blvd F, Newark, CA 94560, United States
IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. These people absolutely played in our faces and had intent behind it. Should have known they were going to be terrible when my partner and I walked in and they had no customers or when while ordering the two men said something amongst each other in their language and laughed in a snarky manner. They even waved bye with smiling sarcastic faces knowing what they were doing. DO NOT GO. The owner or manager of this place should be ashamed of themselves and the people that work for them.My partner and I arrived to wakatobi around 9:40ish PM Wednesday, May 15th, 24. I wanted to leave but my partner did not so we gave it a shot. While looking at the menu the two men working in the front barely helped or seemed to want to be engaged with us. We ended up ordering the steak and shrimp and the steak chicken and shrimp habachi combos to go and this is what we got. Got all the way home and opened our food and these exact pictures is how we first saw our food. We did not touched it AT ALL before taking these pictures . Trusting the reviews and trying to be open and give small businesses a chance this is how we are treated. The little bits and pieces of steak and shrimp we did have were absolutely TERRIBLE tasting. Non-pleasing what so ever. We did not get chicken AT ALL after they repeated our order back to us EXACTLY HOW WE ORDERED it. Absolutely terrible. Given we live 30 minutes away and that we spent almost $100 here, I will seek to get something refunded or take them to small court claims because this is ridiculous. DO NOT GO.
Chong Qing Noodle
39229 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Family run Chongqing noodle shop and BOY IS IT LEGIT. This family actually used to run Julie’s noodles just across the freeway but now are at this shop so all you OG’s know where to go now. Don’t let the stellar service fool you, this place has flavors that will ratatouille you back to that noodle shop with the plastic stools under your grandparents place. I had the chongqing chickpea noodle while my partner had the pork intestine noodle. Both were great though I enjoyed his intestine noodle broth a little too much. The staff even gave a small 冰粉 (ice jelly) as a side for us to have and cool our palettes. 10/10 I’m going back there now as I’m typing this.
Oyama BBQ
5492 Central Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
My first bad review is for this bistro that visited me twice.I had dinner very late due to work reasons. I was surprised that a new barbecue restaurant opened near my home that was open until 12 oclock. So I confirmed on Google and Xiaohongshu that the opening hours were indeed until midnight, and I planned to try it.The first time was when I arrived at around 8pm last Tuesday. The lights were all dark and the store was not open at all. However, it clearly said open on Google. Although I was disappointed that the trip was in vain, I thought that it might still open during the trial opening period. Its normal to be unstable. Just try again next time.So I called in advance today to confirm that it would be open until midnight. When I went to the store around 8:40 in the evening, the store was full, but there were no people queuing up. It didn't look very busy, so I filled out the waitlist at the door and I left my phone number and then stood at the door for a while, but no one came to greet me or say hello. Finally, I stopped a waiter who was delivering food to ask if he would call if there was a seat. Because it was cold, we wanted to go back to the car and wait for a table before getting confirmation. After the reply, we were told again that we would go to the car and wait for their call at that time. After returning to the car and waiting for more than half an hour, there was no movement at all. During this time, I called the store 4 times to inquire about the situation, but none of them got through. So I went back to the store to check and found that 4-5 tables had already been vacated. What did I ask the waiter? Why were we not informed of the situation and made to wait so long in vain? The answer he got was that there was no one at the door and he couldnt find us, but they clearly promised that they would call.In the end, we didn't eat at this restaurant. We don't know the taste, so we can't comment on it. But for a restaurant with such chaotic management and lack of respect for its customers, we won't come back no matter how delicious it is.
Himalayan Chef Kitchen
6180 Jarvis Ave # M, Newark, CA 94560, United States
If you like tomato paste, tomatoes, strained tomatoes and pureed tomatoes all in one dish for your curry base, this is the restaurant to go to. You will see red everywhere in your food And if you like small skimpy shrimp, about the size of a fingernail in pretty much the same red, red and red tomatoey curry, then this is the place to go to. Its one of those go once and done type of places. Sadly of 200+ Indian restaurants in Fremont/Union City/Newark area, not one appears to stand out. Thought this one did, but back to hoping someone opens a real restaurant that really has good food that can be called justifiable Indian cuisine. This Tomato House aint the one! Back to the drawing board!
Rice and Spoon Vietnamese Cuisine
7060 Jarvis Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Really cute little restaurant with fresh, tasty food. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this spot is on the inside as the shopping center its in is not super posh... I met the owner and he seems really great and invested in his business.I ordered grilled chicken with rice noodles to go - it was fresh and yummy - exactly what I wanted! Now if only they would add Bon Mi to the menu for when Im craving a sammie!
Feng Cha Teahouse - Newark
6180 Jarvis Ave ste w, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Stopped here for a quick bite while on a bicycle ride with my wife. I was the only customer inside and I ordered 2 orders of egg rolls. Over the next 20 minutes several customers walked in and ordered from the front, waited, received their orders and left. I even saw my neighbor come in and order and leave before me. I asked why it was taking so long and was told it would just be another few minutes...25 MORE minutes later and several more customers with fulfilled orders later I went to ask for a refund and they ignored me for 5 more minutes and whispered to each other while pointing at me. I was completely appalled. Finally, another customer walked in and when the staff went to help them, I stepped in front and politely asked for my money back. They did give me a refund, but did not seem to care 1 little bit that they just iwasted 45 minutes of my time. Honestly, it felt like it was intentional and I dont understand why you would treat a polite, well dressed, and paying customer who came in with a positive attitude like theyre worthless unless it was for some other reason (passive racism?) I emailed the owner after this incident and explained in detail what had happened to which I received no reply. It doesnt matter if they have the best drinks in the world, a business who treats people the way this one treated me wont last long.
Customize MaLaTang
39135 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Trendy spot for malatang and dry pot along with other Sichuan dishes. Presentation is 100% and very photo worthy. Food is good but leans on the pricey side. I usually go on the weekends and have lucked out on missing the lunch rushes as each time Ive been there the tables fill up quickly.Order through their 39miles website for fee-free pick up service. Its just their phone number .com - super easy to use! If you dine in, each table has a personalized QR code that leads to this website. You order dishes directly through it and the wait staff will bring everything straight to you. Dine in malatang bar youll have to go up and service yourself and have it weighed and customized to your preference with the cashier. The bar is $14.95/lb and I find it hard to portion control myself each time! Ive tried their soup (malatang) and dry pot versions and theyre both good in flavor.Their squirrel fish (glanced fish in tomato sauce on their menu) is not the best Ive had in the bay (try Little Sichuan for this dish) as the sauce is heavy on the sour side rather than perfectly balanced. The boiled beef in pepper is delicious and I prefer it over than in their malatang or dry pot versions.Overall, solid restaurant and the only one with the malatang bar concept on this side of the Bay from what I know. Great concept, good food.
