Great value, delicious curry chicken soup, casual atmosphere. My favorite pho in the city used to be the place across the street from this until I tried their curry chicken noodle soup. If I could eat only one thing for the rest of my life, it might be their curry chicken soup. They standard pho also hits the spot. Dont expect anything in terms of ambiance but for a casual Vietnamese noodle soup, definitely does the spot and is surrounded by shops, bars, and dessert spots along Irving Street for a nice post-meal stroll.

Osha Thai BBQ San Francisco
692 Geary St, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States
I tend to favor this Osha location over the others because of its late night hours, mostly stemming from my late night Thai cravings. This location offers you the most casual experience compared to its Union, 2nd or Embarcadero locations. As far as the city goes, Id have to say Osha and King of Noodles are the best Thai restaurants in terms of authenticity. Osha Geary usually does a good job, but I had one bad experience where I ordered a classic Thai favorite that wasnt on the menu: Pad Ga Pow (Stir-fried basil with meat). They gave me a quarter serving of rice noodles, perhaps to offset the cost of the basil going in? Who knows, but that did not please me. I typically stick to the favorites like KaoPad Boo (Crab Fried Rice) or Pad See Ew.Oh and when Winter comes along, make sure you dont get seated near the entrance. When lines form outside and the host constantly checks on them, youll receive quite the breeze that instantly chills your food. Its worth another 10-15 minute wait, unless youre one of those freaks who eats cold pizza.--------------11/03/2007Demoted to 3 stars after learning they jacked the prices.

I am sure that for those of you lucky enough to live in the city this noodle shop is just one of many you have to choose from but for those of us who drove 5 hours to get here Wow what a treat. So good, wish I lived closer so I could explore the menu but this will just have to go into the memory book of special dinners.

Oodle Yunnan Rice Noodle
3420 Balboa St, San Francisco, CA 94121, United States
Soft open as of a week ago (9/23/23), so have to be patient as they become better organized and up to speed. Come hungry and enjoy the workout!Ordered the spicy beef rice noodles dish and it was DELICIOUS! I cant wait to return for the other flavors. The spiciness was spot on (had to wipe sweat off the back of my head/neck) and soup base is where the magic happens because they actually spend the time and effort to brew their own base - you dont find this in a lot of soup noodle places. Im told that the chef traveled back to China to learn how to make the soup base. Thats commitment. The rice noodle has a satisfying chewy consistency while the beef pieces are flavorful. The bridge of add-ons is very fun. The popcorn chicken is a must-try because its the chefs special.Suggestions/Recommendations:* Please 100% always remember let customers know how scorching hot the soup bowl is. It is especially dangerous for the elderly and kids.* Given the limited amount of table space, the bridge of add-ons take up a ton of space. To be more efficient, use one bridge for a party of 1 or 2 but double the amount of sides for two people.* Place food prices on menu* The noodle bowls are kind of big/deep, so it gives the optical illusion that there isnt much food.Source: an Asian man w/ a sharp tongue. Summary-Friendly quite affordable pho with friendly but unattentive staff.Pros-Decent quality ingredients at a fair price-Quite, Intimate and comfortable dining-Mostly Friendly Staff-Beautiful Flowers and a good art pieceCons-Poor food timing. Pho came out within a minute while fried noodle dish came out in about 10 minutes. Appetizer was served after all main courses and had to be sent back.-Appetizer had to be sent back. Chicken instead of Shrimp. Human error anyone can do that and I wouldnt normally dock points for this however the waitress was quite defensive about the mistake. She asked if we had eaten the appetizer, we said no and she said it was so she could reserve it instead of throwing it away. This is a major health violation.-Water was empty for quite a bit until we asked for refills, empty plates were left on tables and we asked for check, was told it would be brought and we waited about 10 minutes before just going to the counter to pay. Wait staff and man behind counter were mostly just socializing with one table I assume was people they knew. There were about 6 small tables seated the entire time we dined. Should have been quite easy.Constructive comments.-Wait staff should be more attentive to all customers-The beautiful flowers that were mostly hidden near the register would make great decor in shelves around the restaurant instead of being hidden-There was a fantastic art peice behind the register of a woman in a dress. Art like that would look wonderful around the restaurant.-Appetizers should always be served before main dishes. Main dishes should be served together. Its not fun to be hungry and sit at a table and watch others eat, or worse sit in front of your food and wait for everyone to get their dish.-Say it with a smile-The customer isnt always right, but dont be overly defensive-Once food is placed on a customers table and left it cannot be reserved to another customer. Waste is bad but potential Food Born Illness is worse.

Noodle Stop
1325 Noriega St, San Francisco, CA 94122, United States
Ive never know this place opens late. I was hungry and it was 9-ish, not many option around the area for late dine so I want to try eating here. The place is bright and cozy, looks almost like an open kitchen. Like its name, they have all kind of chinese style noodle, from choumien to soup noodle. I try the guilin noodle and my friend she want some porridge, and we share a spicy intestine dish. More detail is in the photos and I will add more dishes if I have a chance to comeback.Overalls, open till midnight, clean and cozy place, good and not expensive food (mostly noodle), really friendly server, definitely would come backExtra: they sell their own homemade chily oil, i think 6$ for 1 jar; and some kind of pastries for 3.5$/each or 5$/2. (Havent try that tho)

Bangkok House Thai Noodles

Stopped by here for dinner after work for a pad thai craving. It was empty on a Friday night, but a lot of take out orders were placed. Inside was clean and spacious with a good amount of tables. We ordered the thai fish cakes, green curry w pork, pad thai w chicken, and eggplant w tofu. The food came out quickly. The food was cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious with generous portion sizes. Loved the variety of items in the green curry. We never tried thai fish cakes but they were a great appetizer, especially with the sauce. Can't wait to come back again.

IPPUDO SAN FRANCISCO
18 Yerba Buena Ln, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States
I had heard about Ippudo in New York, but I skipped going there since there were only so many places I could try, and I wasnt keen on standing in a long line. So when I walked by Ippudos new San Francisco location late on a Friday night as the Warriors swept the Cavaliers to win the finals, and saw no one in line, I immediately hurried inside. Good timing too--a line formed not two minutes after I put my name down for a table. I am a ramen skeptic; I know what I love and its rich, flavorful tonkotsu broth, fatty chashu, and soft-boiled egg, and woe to any ramen shop that gets any of these elements wrong. Ippudo knocked all of these out of the park! I found myself tremendously enjoying the noodles, which I ordered firm, and the chicken buns met the review hype with fantastic crunch and great flavor. The vegetarian miso ramen was also good, though obviously no comparison to the rich pork broth, and the sake list was extensive and stocked with great options. Service was friendly, efficient, and ubiquitous in a space that was clearly designed by a thoughtful professional eye, with crafted wooden tables and a metal tree sculpture as the restaurant centerpiece. The only objectionable thing here was the price; I am spoiled and used to getting soft-boiled egg in my ramen without needing to pay an extra $2. Despite that, I loved the ramen and the buns and would like to try other items on the menu, but Ill be ordering the tonkotsu ramen in the foreseeable future. Great stuff!UPDATE: Came here again during NBA Finals season as its the one proven time that the line is reasonable (15 minutes or less). Ordered the chicken bun, expecting the same delicious experience from last time, and was disappointed to see the amount of chicken had shrunk from a great portion relative to the bun, to a small chunk barely over a third of the bun itself. Color me disappointed. Ramen was still delicious, but the wacky small amount of chicken dwarfed but a regular sized bun warranted a one star reduction.

Such a quaint little ramen shop. Their ramen was absolutely delicious, and their vegetarian option is just as good. Broth and noodles were fantastic. This spot can get a bit busy, but well worth the wait.
