Gangnam Station Korean BBQ - Buena Park
5333 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA 90621, United States
Just found my new favorite AYCE Korean BBQ spot in Buena Park!I decided to treat my brother out to some bbq yesterday for his belated birthday. Im more of a beef combo - non-ayce kbbq girly, while hes more accustomed to ayce kbbq. Of course, we have to go with what little brother wants - but we have to go somehere known for their quality of meats. Ive heard only great things about Gangnam, so I had to finally check it out.We decided to go with the Combo C menu, which is about $60 per person with 58 menu items. We ordered the 1. Prime Kostal (highly marbled beef short rib) 2. Prime Non-Marinated Bone-in Galbi (prime bone-in short rib), and 4. Marinated Prime Beef Boneless Short Rib Cut . Lets talk about the banchan options. We were given about 10 banchan dishes: macaroni salad, pickled jalapeno/daikon, marinaded rice noodles, cucumber kimchi, veggie pancake, fishcakes, japchae, horseradish radish, chicken karaage, and rice paper. Each banchan dish was delicious. I love banchan, so I dont really get many proteins since I dabble in more of the banchan options. The pickled radish wraps had like a hint of horseradish taste, which was different. It had a little bite to it like how wasabi would, which we both appreciated. The sweet and sour pork was definitely something new as a banchan for us. Nice and crispy! We also really enjoyed the sauce and dipping options. There were 4 different types: salt, some kind of spicy sauce, brisket type sauce, and a sweeter thicker sauce. They were all good with the meats! I wanted to look around and see what else was offered. They have a self-serve salad bar, which I love. Their dressing is also more on the white sesame creamy side, which I really enjoyed. You can also serve your own kimchi and pickled onions. They also have an exorbitant of different marinated pork and chicken cuts available as self serve, as well. Unforunately, we got full off of our first round of meat, so we didnt get to dabble in the other proteins. But definitely will next time! My favorite choice was #1, which makes sense why it is number one. All the meats were marbled, tender, and juicy. I really wanted to try the premium sea scallops and baby octopus, but my stomach wouldnt allow me to go any further. My brother really enjoyed his birthday meal! Our service was great. We never had to ask to get our waters refilled or our grills changed. We were also always asked if we needed more sides. There is plenty of free parking in the shared plaza parking lot. Theres plenty of seating for small and big parties. They are also open late, which is a definitely plus!

Slurpin Ramen Bar

Slurpin Ramen Bar is a small ramen restaurant neatly tucked away in the same shopping center as Claimjumpers. It sits right across from Knotts Berry Farm, so you could easily pass this spot without ever knowing you did, which would be unfortunate. The level of flavor the ramen carries is quite considerable. You can choose between mild to hot, and even the mild has a level of heat and flavor that can not be denied. They carry the usual and unusual fare of appetizers, such as takoyaki, bulgogi spring rolls, garlic edamame, and the like. You cannot go wrong with any choice, as for the ramen you can choose the usual tonkatsu broth, the chef special which comes with corn, crunchy onions, bean sprouts, spinach, and umami oil, a veggie ramen, as well as tsukemen for dipping. Choose what style you desire. They have a lunch combo from 11:30 to 3 everyday where an additional four dollars gives you a house salad, appetizer, and ramen of your choice ( some apps have an additional price point included ) and parties of six or more is an added gratuity. You can split the bill, so keep that in mind or bring cash to decide what works best for the group. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, tasty food, and a nice diversion from the amusement park fare that anaheim is very well known for. Not that its bad, but every now and again, you desire something a bit different. This works.

This Asian Fusion place is quite good. A mix of Korean and Vietnamese flavors, I can see why it is so popular. I had ordered twice at least before writing a review, and the food did not disappoint. Picking up the order is quite chaotic though. It is packed even with their outside patio. I believe there may be a lot of people asking questions about being seated so I can understand why whoever is in the front may not be the happiest. If you want flavor packed Asian fusion food, or have never tried this place, you should give it a try.FoodLet me give some thoughts on some of them things I tried:Filet Mignon Lomo Saltdo - This was pretty good, just that if you get togo the fries gets more soggier depending on when you eat it. I believe esp in a togo container it can trap and steam the food inside.Shaken Fries- with the beef belly, this was an excellent combination, I believe it had a bit of siracha, and packed w flavor, and I would say the same about the fries being trapped in a togo box. Recommend taking it to air fryer and putting it alll together after. It was nice for them to separate the sauces. The green sauce was real good!Spring RollsI think this was pretty averagePrawns Fried RiceThis was real good, big pieces of shrimp, with a really flavorful fried rice.I would say overall the food has been quite good, just looking forward to one day in trying the beef pho, that so many people have posted pictures about. Just so hard with the wait times. I guess last tip is to have your wallet prepared, a dish can easily be $20. Until next time !

Came here with my brother on a stormy weekday night. We saw this place on TikTok and also from a recommendation from our cousin so we wanted to check it out.The ambience is laid-back and also very cool because it emulates the outdoors. Definitely a great place for groups, drinking, and just catching up with friends. The prices are a bit higher, but I think the portion warrants it.We were considering getting three items, but decided to just get two and order more if we wanted more. Ive been wanting to try raw marinated shrimp for a long time, but I was nervous that I wouldnt like it. Since we had sushi recently, I did not want to get the salmon, so I took a chance on getting a big plate of shrimp and hoping that we both liked it.The shrimp comes with a bowl of rice that has a slice of butter, raw egg yolk, and other seasonings on it. Its bound to taste good. The meat of the shrimp was not what I expected. Ive only had raw shrimp before in Laotian raw shrimp salad. Thats prepared with similar flavors to papaya salad. You could really feel the seafood-ness of that dish. Here, they leave the heads, but they shelled the shrimp. The meat was juicier than I expected and, although soft, it was also more firm than squishy. It kind of tasted like a sweet alcohol too? It paired well with the rice, although I am glad I shared this with my brother because it was umami overload. We barely touched the eggs because the rice and shrimp and our other dish got us so full. We werent sure what to do with the heads. I normally like sucking on the heads when shrimp is fried or in Cajun boil, but I felt like I cant do it with this. The pork belly came with soybean paste, garlic, and serranos. It was sizzling hot. It was delicious, great texture! Although be aware of the peppers because theyre really spicy. The service was decent. They gave us big jugs of Japanese tea and it was so good that we asked what it was, and the hostess happily give us more information on how to buy ourselves. It was so fragrant!I also like the system where you dont tip and they calculate it for you. I would love to come back with a group of friends next time!

Definitely a great place to have a fun night! The movie tickets are on the pricer side, but definitely worth it. Some of the movies worth seeing in this theater are action movies and superhero movies. If you were to watch any horror, romance, or comedies at this theater, you might not get your full moneys worth. The online system is a bit tricky to manage, but once you get the hang of it its definitely easier to submit your order online beforehand rather than in the theater. If youre planning on purchasing your tickets at the theater, you might have to wait in line. Get there earlier that way you can give yourself plenty of time before the movie begins. The theater itself doesnt just offer 4dx movies, they also offer the standard movie view, plus Korean subtitles for some movies.Ticket prices cost on average about $25 for 4DX movies. Definitely keep an eye out for an email confirmation to verify the purchase went through. Unfortunately the emails are not guaranteed, so have your reference number for your purchase available for the cashier. If you dont have your reference number you can always provide the employees with the card you used for the purchase so they can print your tickets. If you sign up for their rewards membership you save $1 off each movie, plus you can also accumulate points towards free items or free movie tickets. The concession stand has typical theater pricings, but unlike some theaters they do offer alcohol and you can also order flavored popcorn. Luckily they have plenty of parking at this theater since they have a parking structure.

The parking situation got worse. The service was not satisfactory. While at the cashier counter, the cashier pulled three salmon sushi packages I tried to buy without any explanation and had another person return them. Without saying anything to me. I had to ask whats going on. She said the prices on them were too low. I guess that can happen but wouldnt it be better to explain first and then ask to return the items? Then she proceeded to make it sound as if I was the one with the fault. At that point, I didnt want to argue with her anymore, asked to pull those three packages out, paid for the rest, and left. For the record, I didnt put the prices tags on those packages. H Mart did. It was the markets mistake. People make mistakes. No big deal. But I dont see why I need to report any possible incorrectly priced items to the cashier. And wouldnt that be the markets responsibility, not the customers? And I dont even know whats the correct price for a salmon sushi package. The prices looked low to me, and I simply thought they were on sale. Maybe they were what we Koreans say 번개세일 or lightening sale. With this bad experience, I dont think I would go back there. I am revising my previous four star rating, which is still at below, to one star. To me, the place is not worth the stress, and I dont want to be accused again of something I didnt do.Hopefully other shoppers would have more pleasant shopping experience in the future. I do not wish what I experienced today on anyone. It was very unpleasant.-----------------------------------------------------------------Surprisingly nice and clean. Food was very good. I only wish for the better parking. Its just too crowded.

TLDR: terrible service, meat portion got cut in half, takes 40 min for rice and water, no apology, $114.20Got seated at 6:25pm on a Friday night. Typical Covid19 setup where tables are apparently maintaining 6ft apart. My party has 7+2 (7 adults and 2 kids). Apparently we cant put the tables together because we have to maintain 6 distance. With each other. But the seats are 1 from each other. Okay. Not a big deal. We get our menu and order by 6:35 (our table of 4+1 ordered a large beef). Of course water and side dishes were already present.Timeline - Friday - 85 degrees outside6:25 - got seated6:35 - ordered6:50 - meat came out (btw meat portion got cut in half). We asked for 5 bowls of rice and container of water from waiter #1. Itll be out soon7:00 - asked waiter #2 for 5 bowls of rice and container of water. Ill check on it7:10 - asked waitress #3 for 5 bowls of rice and container of water. Let me ask your waiter. It shouldnt take long now. Other table finished eating completely.7:20 - asked waiter #4 for 5 bowls of rice and container of water. Im not sure what can be taking so long. Let me check meanwhile other table starts bringing food to us7:30 - waiter brings in 5 bowls of rice and water. Heres your rice and water. Anything else i can get for you?Nothing said or done to apease me of waiting 40 min for rice and water (oh but heres the funny part, all the other tables in my tent were getting all that they ask for... wait for it... within a minute)7:33 - we finished eating and bounced. Unanimously agreed no tip (even the guy who pays 25% normal tip).In my home, you can cook rice in 30 min. What was kanghodong doing? Cooking rice exactly when i ordered it? Were you growing the rice and waiting for fall? Or were you sending someone to go to a river and get some water? Or were you waiting for me to starve to death? AND more than the wait, where was the apology or courtesy of saying sorry and explaining why rice was delayed? Is it my fault that i asked for the most staple food in all Asian countries... rice? Is this situation somehow my fault? Was i ordering a burger or something off the menu? Or maybe rice isnt common just like courtesy. All in all, im gonna start telling EVERYONE i know to avoid kanghodong. Ive been to several dine out restaurants but this was the worst experience ever. Probably top 5. In my life. I truly regret coming here.

Came here for a late lunch with friends because I have been craving skewers and heard of their self-cooking skewers. They have a decent sized parking lot when we came so didnt have to look. We got seated fast once we walked in and the employees were friendly. We ordered the lamb skewers 10pc, beef skewers 10pc, pork skewers 5pc, bread rolls 2pc, and warm noodles. They give side dishes but they were not super good. The bean sprouts were not seasoned enough and the coleslaw was meh. They do refill them for free if you ask. It took around 10 minutes for the food to be served and we began cooking. The rotating cooking machine was cool but the fire was uneven so the meat would cook fast on the middle and not the side. The fried buns were good though. The warm noodles were not bad, just spicy. As for the taste, the skewer meat quality was pretty good. The seasoning was good but too bad they didnt have many sauces to dip and most of them were spicy.Overall, the experience was pretty good but overpriced to eat skewers. I guess the meat is bigger than other skewers but the smaller skewers are more flavorful. Would recommend coming here to try it once but that is about it unless you really like the self cooking skewers part.
Urban Grill

It is with great sorrow that I write this review. Ive been coming here for about 6 years now, and have been satisfied with the reasonable price, consistent quality, and friendly service. Until now. There is a new girl, Chelsea, and she displays some of the worst customer service and work ethic Ive ever seen in my life. Interacting with customers or doing any kind of work at all seemed like a great burden to her. She didnt bring us our food (the previous purple haired employee, Kara, used to), my food didnt come out right and she made it pretty clear she wanted me to just take it anyway so she didnt have to go out of her way to fix it, and based on her demeanor and body language she just seemed generally bitter and annoyed at having had to show up or do anything at all. I wont be coming back or changing my review until Chelsea is either removed or set straight. Very sad.
