Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
1284 Auto Park Way Suite E, Escondido, CA 92029, United States
We ordered the family pack 3 entrees for $45 and this is what we got. Take note today is Mothers Day 2024. We received half the size of the portioned plates and it seems like they are single order portions. We ordered more dishes aside from this but it was just very disappointing. We paid $90 for the foods we got that would feed only 2 people but we ordered the family pack that it says was good for 4-5 people. I would not recommend pick up stix and please go to a place who would give fair amount of food for the price you pay. Specially for a special occasion please dont get or order from them. All of you will be disappointed a hundred percent. My Mothers Day celebration has been sad unfortunately because of the food that we chose to get and was not fair to give us the rights amount for the price we paid. Not all of was able to eat and I had to cook extra for the rest of my guest.

La Sorpresa Barata Asian Market

Not the biggest shop but the place is packed to the brim with all kinds of asian and mexican grocery staples.Fermented kimchi, cuts of meat (organ, tongue, beef, etc), shrimp, octopus, soy milk, rice paper, soup bases, snacks, produce, a TON of different noodles from vermicelli to udon, chili and sesame oil, all flavors of samyang ramen, a variety of rice, cream cake rolls, and a ton of other stuff. They even have basics like birthday candles, shampoo, asian beauty care items, tea (including diet teas).I bought a milk tea boba drink, jajangmyeon (black bean) flavor samyang ramen, banana flavored icecream, instant chocolate milk boba, 2 different kinds of cream cake rolls, pocky, and a peach flavored drink. Everything was great, seemed very fresh!I recommend the Melona banana ice cream, canned boba tea, and any of their drinks really. Ill definitely be coming back to try out more of their snacks and drinks!

TJ Tacos
802 E Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
I wish I could leave .5 stars, my review would be a 4.5 instead of a 5. I also want to say my review is based upon being there at one of the busiest known times.I visited TJ Tacos on Sunday, 7/14/2019 around 6PM.I read the reviews and knew there would be a wait, but to me that wasnt an issue, that meant the food must be fantastic! When I arrived there was a pretty long line, I waited all in all about 30 minutes to get my food (more on that later), however this was a fun experience because I spoke with a lot of locals and tried to chat with as many people as I could because I dont live in this area. Everyone was super friendly and it was nice seeing the food cooked in front of you.I went with two asada tacos and one adobada tacos, in reality I wish I would have purchased a few more adobada tacos after having the one. I also purchased a cheese quesadilla and drink. The pricing was very reasonable for the amount of food you were given. Seating was difficult to find, but given I was one person I did snag a table outside, if you are a large group it might be difficult to sit at one table together during busy times. I loved the spicy avocado sauce, it was so delicious. The food was amazing and the tacos were excellent. The homemade, in house, tortillas were so good, I loved watching the lady make them while I waited. I would highly recommend going here to experience the atmosphere and splendid food! Now my only negative, was the line queuing. For instance, they have two separate lines for Asada and Adobada tacos, which isnt a big deal, except it was extremely busy. I waiting in the adobada line then had to wait in line again for asada tacos. I think during busy times, there should be a combo line for those looking to get both. Other than that, I had a great experience here.

Panya Thai Kitchen
1101 W Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
The How are we doing? Text this number on the receipt does not work so here we are with a 2 star review unfortunately. I have been coming here on and off over the last 10 years. Ive had a lot of time to observe things and also its impossible not to notice the recent price increase. I dont go here super often so its easy to notice that each visit gets worse. Just a few years ago the lunch special used to be $25 for 2 people, sometimes even including a tip in that total! Now fast forward to this week where I spent $34 on a lunch special (dinner price would be $45!). It is simply no longer a good deal. Is the food still good? I would say it remains the best Thai food in Escondido but it now comes at a high price. Additionally their add-on ingredients are overpriced at $2 per ingredient. They are missing from Uber Eats. My drink was messed up on my last order and they dramatically decreased the size of the drink cups while raising the prices. I get it, inflation but this place seems to be way higher of an increase than other places so I cant blame that entirely. The food on my last visit was not as good as I remembered and the drunken noodles seemed like they gave me the leftovers at the bottom of the pan or something, instead of wide noodles it was little bits and pieces and it was also very greasy. Overall this is no longer a go-to Thai food place for me like it was for so many years and I will consider driving slightly out of my way for better options in the future.

Bamboo House Restaurant
320 N Midway Dr, Escondido, CA 92027, United States
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give the place a rating somewhere between a 5- and 6+, if it were not for the soup my rating would be lower . With this being me and my wife's first visit that we thought the atmosphere was appropriate, but our opinion soon changed after we were seated. We were served a tea pot (that we were told was tea), but to our shock it was full of something resembling beef or dirty chicken broth, it was also very salty. We sent it back and was brought a new pot which did contain tea. What disappointed us the most is that the waitress wouldn't fess up and say they made a mistake, throughout the night she kept saying it was some form of tea that was maybe meant for someone else. I think how they handled that was pretty unforgivable... based on just that I won't go back.So we started with eggrolls and all we got was the standard deep fried cabbage rolls, I felt they were a bit greasy and I don't know what to say about the sauce they served, which was 100% ketchup. The mustard sauce I requested was good, but the sweet sauce I requested really needed a lot of work, it tasted almost citrus. We split a bowl of wonton soup, it was fairly delicious, but lacked scallions. Our main course was beef with pea pods, which we found to be very salty tasting and lacking in anything memorable (such as a sauce) that would make it stand out from any other similar dish. We also ordered shrimp fried rice, it consisted of brown rice and shrimp, with a sliver of egg and zero scallion. Teamed up with the shrimp it was very salty tasting. Ending on a positive note, our water glasses were kept full of cold water.

Chins Gourmet
445 N Escondido Blvd, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
The food is really good here. We were regulars at a time lunch is very affordable and you get a good amount of food! There used to be a server (a woman) she was the sweetest, but were unsure if she doesnt work there anymore or might have retired. So now there is always a male server and he is not friendly, we noticed he was always more attentive to certain customers. So we dont go there as often as we did. We dont like how he treats us, being people of color, we feel uncomfortable! He never came to refill our drinks and he refilled others, so we knew we were not leaving a tip. Also we noticed he boxed customers dining in leftovers for them, but wen he asked us if we wanted a box he just left the box there and left! Its no biggy for us but since he boxed all the others peoples food which were all caucasian we felt like we were definitely being treated differently. He finally brought the check once he saw I was done signing he came right away and opened the small signing folder and said is something wrong we said no. He looked at us and left confused why we left no tip! We were so annoyed we said who does that who opens the booklet to see if we left a tip right away. We still go cause the food is really good. But we just ignore acts like that. That server just runs it hes always there in the morning but other han that the other servers are very friendly and attentive. Just sharing my experience.

K & K Orient Valley Food Center
665 N Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
We got hungry for a Filipino Fiesta (feast) but I didnt feel like cooking all the different dishes that I want just for the three of us; Kare-kare, fresh Lumpia, dinuguan with puto, sisig, pancit, bibingka, ginataang bilo-bilo and of course garlic fried rice. So off I went three cities east of us (11 miles) to get the food were craving. Its like a Pinoy buffet but with left-overs. Fred is so happy with KK Orient Valley Food Center in Escondido, CA. Hes kinda picky with Filipino food, it has to taste authentic not Americanized, nothing bland, and of course fresh. Bonus is the pricing. Very reasonably priced. I pre-ordered a half tray of Kare-kare and requested no tripe. They accommodated my request and no extra charge for the customization. This is a point-point joint but you can pre-order trays of food if you want. During this Rona season, no eat in allowed, keep your social distancing, wear mask, and be considerate. So totally worth the drive for this home style cooked Filipino food. I would definitely recommend this place for your Filipino food craving without breaking the bank.

Surfing Crab Escondido
202 E Via Rancho Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025, United States
First time coming. The place is big and seats a lot of people. When we came in we were looking at the menu to know what to order. We ordered the sampler appetizer, chicken fried basket and the trio crab boil. When ordering we told are waitress we wanted it MILD. First came in the appetizer. The calimari was a bit to chewy for me. The breaded shrimp was amazing. The hushpuppies had all the seasonings which I like. The spring rolls on the other hand were really empty and so small. After enjoying that the waitress lets us know that our crab boil was ready and if we wanted it now and we said yes. She brings it and after we are putting shrimp and what not we tell her if the other fried basket was coming. She kind of was confused and said if it wasnt out and we said no. So then she brings it. Back to the boil crab. Everything was good except it was super spicy for my liking. I felt that it wasnt mild as we requested. So our hands were getting dirty and notice our waitress passing by and ask her if we can get paper towels as our table didnt have any. So she brought it and we went through a lot since it gets messy and every bite was spicy.Once we received our bill I was flabbergasted that they add gratuity. First of all. I felt like we didnt even get the service we deserved. Our waitress didnt even put mild for our order. Our bill said MEDIUM. Like no wonder it was spicy. And she also offer to bring crackers with our crab boil which she didnt. And we literally had to tell her the things we needed or she forgot.Dont get me wrong the food was amazing. But the service here was lacking. If this business is charging gratuity then you should train your staff to do better. Overall I recommend this place cause everything on the menu was good. Just make sure you come with 5 people or less so they dont charge gratuity. It seemed like they had a lot of staff but most of them were just talking among each other

El Super 29
151 W Lincoln Ave, Escondido, CA 92026, United States
El Super is a GEM and life saver that has remained open during the pandemic and took the appropriate precautions to make sure it is a safe place to shop and still make a great shopping/eating experience. The lines outside are non existent now. It's a great place to shop for fresh produce and a Great place to grab something to eat at an incredible bargain price especially for a family of 2 kids or more.I eat and shop here at least 5x a week. They have brand products as well as a wide selection of off brand products. There cost is very reasonable and within a budget for a family.1. Bathrooms are very clean and you need a passcode to use them. There many families that bring their kiddos and since I have 2 daughters, I am very picky and conscientious about using any bathrooms especially because of COVID-19.2. Service is Great; I a eat breakfast here 5x a week for $5.95 which is combo plate of Rice Beans and your choice of different eggs that comes with tortillas and your choice of water or coffee.Mariela and her crew keep a tight ship and help you with what you need; friendly and welcoming. My daughters and I order the same thing and they have fresh fruit and many Mexican cuisine dishes ready to serve that are made that morning. If something didn't meet your expectations you can kindly ask Mariela for something else and she makes sure you leave satisfied.3. Produce is often ripe and carry a wide selection of typical Latin America produce.Carniceria (butcher) on side if you like meat and don't mind the smell. There is also cheese products; bakery and tortillas freshly made.4. There cleaning products (off brand) and some brand toilet paper5. Sodas and chips and Latin America candy, some piñatas and cakes too.6. Fresh food and sitting place to eat and they also have 2 TV. That are normally on and there CLEAN!!!Overall I have had a great experience and I am very satisfied with their service as I been to other El supers and this is by far the cleanest and well kept store.
