Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
5365 Alton Pkwy Suite H, Irvine, CA 92604, United States
I ordered online and did a pick-up. I always try to arrive about 5 minutes before my estimated pick-up time, and when I got there, my food was already waiting for me, which was awesome. My husband and I shared the three person family value pack. The portions were great, and it was enough for both of us. We had leftovers of some of the entree and rice. I dont think Id recommend it for three full sized adults, but if it were two adults and a kid who doesnt eat much, then that would probably be good. I rated the food four stars because the chocolate dipped fortune cookies were probably the worst dessert Ive ever had. They were hard as bricks, and the chocolate looked kinda weird. BUT they also gave us regular fortune cookies, which were great. Also, the honey chicken wasnt what I expected. It wasnt bad, but it didnt really taste like honey. It had more of a sweet and sour type taste. Again, its not bad, but I wouldnt order it if youre actually looking for that honey flavor. Service was quick and friendly. Will for sure go back!

Im giving it a really good review and I havent even eaten it yet, or stepped into the restaurant. I havent met an employee or seen the outside, and its still a good review. I ordered a simple chicken and veggies fried rice through Grubhub and asked for a side note to have steak and shrimp added (and I they can adjust the price manually if necessary, the app said they allowed that) and I got my request AT NO CHARGE. Good business right there, and I dont know a thing about the location. This is my first time ordering so Ill take it as a one-time thing :)Going into the food. I like my fried rice to be not clumpy (cuz then you have steamy mushy white rice clumps that are fried on the outside). This rice is PERFECT for me. The rice doesnt clump even after a 15 minute delivery time and a paragraph of review. The chicken, beef and shrimp taste amazing and the veggies make the whole dish a good balance.5/5, Im definitely gonna try coming in soon and leaving them all a good tip for their incredible service and another one of their delicious meals.

When PS first opened it was great it actually had Asians preparing Chinese food, now it is prepared Hispanically. The interesting thing is that the food all tastes exactly the same wherever you get it or who ever prepares it, just like a bowl of Ramen! PS was bought out by a big corporation several years ago, since then they 1- upped their prices, 2- reduced the portion sizes, 3- stopped sending promotions to loyal customers and 4- decided that Customer Service went from the Customer to them along with the Customers money. I used to go there 3 times a week, every week. We laughed about needing a PS fix. Now I dont go there at all. Try Shanghai Pine Gardens on Balboa Island. Bigger portions, lower prices and traditional Chinese food.

I was very disappointed that none of their noodle dishes are vegetarian because of their use of chicken and other animal stock. Such an easy change that really wouldnt effect the flavor, while making so many more of their dishes accessible to people who do not consume meat. I know Ive gotten Pick Up Stix before, and there was no mention of the animal stock used in the noodles. I thought they were vegetarian. I feel like back then I was unkindly tricked. If I wouldve known back then, I would have ordered different or gone somewhere else.Though I was disappointed with the vegetarian options and will not be purchasing from Pick Up Stix again until they change their ingredient list, the person who helped me went out of his way to make sure what dishes were suitable for vegetarians. He didnt guess. He pulled out an ingredient list and looked at it carefully. I very much appreciate the effort. I made sure to tip him.

I recently dined at Yangguofu, the new malatang restaurant in town, and it was a fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly friendly. What truly stood out was the freshness of their ingredients; you can tell they take pride in offering the best quality. The broth at Yangguofu was a highlight of the meal, incredibly flavorful and delicious. Whats even better is that they dont hit you with any unexpected extra charges, which is always a pleasant surprise. On the flip side, I tried another new malatang place, Zhangliang, and it was a bit disappointing. They charged 9.5% in sales tax, whereas Yangguofu only charged 7.75%. This price difference definitely made me appreciate Yangguofus transparency even more.Overall, if youre looking for a top-notch malatang experience with friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and no hidden charges, Yangguofu is the place to go.

Parking was to easy to find, and the walk to the restaurant was stunning. Staff was nice and friendly. Our server Brandon made us feel welcomed and was attentive, although once it got around 7pm, he was no longer coming to our table. I understand the rush though, and Im just glad that the restaurant not once made us feel rushed to leave. We ended up calling for this guy who served us our food to help us since Brandon wasnt there. We never got his name, but he was extremely nice.Definitely recommend, and Id love to bring my friends here the next time I go. Id go when their menu changes for the next season, since they have seasonal menus.I want to try everything on their menu, it all sounds so scrumptious.Funny to say, I enjoyed their water the most. This has made the list of one of my favorite restaurants, and I only have a couple.Butternut Squash Amuse-Bouche. 8/10> Great flavor with a delightful blend of texturesButternut Squash Hummus 8/10> Creamy and packed with flavor. I liked dipping the fresh vegetables, very refreshing.Parker Rolls 7/10> Very warm, fluffy, and sweet.Un-Gin Cocktail 8/10Solstice Salad 10/10> Flavors were very balanced, I love how it complemented the entree I had coming.> Had to choose between this and the Pear Caprese. My whole family enjoyed this, and when we come back, Id love to try the Pear Caprese.Mushroom Risotto 6/10> A 6/10 only because it wasnt what I was craving at the time. I wanted their Carrot Spaghetti, but I was told the dish wasnt made with real pasta, just spiralized carrots. I got the risotto instead. Im not disappointed, I quite like it, if I was craving it, itd be an 8/10.> Red Wine Syrup was extremely sweet, but paired beautifully with the richness of the mushrooms.Malbec-Braised Wagyu Short Rib 8/10> It was smoked. The smell was a little off-putting to me, but my brother said it tasted fabulous, so Ill take his word for it. It was so tender, melted right in your mouth.> He initially thought it was a small portion, but with everything else we got, it was rather very filling.Halibut Bouillabaisse 8/10> Creamy, zesty, flavorful. Very nice.Meyer Lemon Tart 7/10> Tastes like a lemon tart. I enjoyed the crust and fresh fruits. My brother thought it was delicious.Coffee-Spiced Ricotta Doughnuts 9/10> The whole reason why I came to this place. The picture of these looked so unresistable I had to go. When I had a bite, it confirmed my reasoning of coming here. I loved the Chocolate and Caramel Sauce. However, I was so full, I decided to take it to-go, and unfortumately, they didnt give us the sauces to-go :(

I visit this new restaurant today, and whole experience is like I am stepping not in US place but right into Asian-Turkic place, so authentic! I ordered Laghman and Pearl Noodle. Laghman is much reminding of Uzbek Laghman, but here, its more fresh, not so heavy and fat. Taste is clean, and meat they use is excellent, very yummy. But real surprise is Pearl Noodle. They use bell peppers, and its bringing so much taste, whole dish is having strong, rich flavor. I couldnt stop eating it until all its all gone from my plate!Atmosphere is what really made impression on me. Inside, every detail is like from another place - you forget you are in America! Decorations, music, all feels like travel without leaving city. Staff is adding to this feeling, because they all so welcoming, like family inviting you in. Its warm, friendly place.Only one small thing - because its still so new here, full menu is not available yet. Its a pity, I am making myself ready for when they have all, because I am needing to try every dish! They already do so much right, I know more food will be same good. For now, I am telling everyone: you must visit! Its like small holiday to exotic place, but with no need for plane ticket. Very excited for coming back. Five stars for sure.

First time here, my mom found out of this place from one of her friends and said it was better than ding tai fung. Its closer to us so we decided to give it a try.Modern open deisgn seating, some of the tables/chairs against the wall are kind aclose together so youll be near the next group of people, its a toght squeeze other than that the theres bar seating, bar stool style tables and seats etc.Slightlight disappointedFor Xao Long Baos, it didnt have much flavor. we got- Seven Gram XLB- Shrimp XLB- Pan fried Dumplings- Scallion Pancakes- seafood fried rice- Calamariall that about $60The XLB all tasted the same, the soup had a weird after taste and waste as flavorful, the fillings all tasted the same. even the shrimp tasted like the regular XLB, could not taste the shrimp.Scallion pancakes were crispy, doughy and pretty good 7-8/10 for scallion cakesCalamari 7/10, the ones we got were alittle over done, it was crispy but the squid was alittle rubbery.Panfried dumpling same filling as the XLB, so not much taste difference.Seafood fried was didnt have alot of seafood in it, it had alot of corn, carrots, peas and 1-3 pieces of shrimp and small scallops but oily rice.Comparing it to Ding tao Fung, Long Xing Ji Juicy Dumplings, Paradise Dynasty, and others. but with these other restaruants. You can taste the different ingredients across each dumpling and their soups are flavorful and refreshing to taste.I guess im being too harsh, its good for where its located and cheaper than the other places i mentioned its just didnt sit well went weve tased other XLB restaraunts.Quick in a pinch craving, i guess you could give it a try.if youre willing to wait for a Ding tai fung table and its not too far as a drive them go for the latter. There is noodle and bowl options we may come back to try, maybe those would be better but for XLB needs some workThe hot teas and flavored tea options were pretty good

EDIT.Do not order takeout from them. My first experience below should have taught me something, but I thought wed give it another try and used uber eats to order our favorite plates. Steak was good, but my seared albacore although looked beautiful and fresh - was very fishy. I couldnt even finish half the slice. This is so frustrating that this restaurant cannot be trusted with takeout.Dine-in in only from now on.Original review.First time we tried this place by picking up the order and eating at home. I was not impressed, because steak was overcooked, sea bass undercooked and the braised beef stew did not taste half as good as it looked. Also they forgot to include dessert we paid for. The manager reached out to me and sent us a gift card, so we could come back and try it again. We gave it another chance and I can confidently say that dine-in experience is absolutely perfect and I would come back times and times again, because everything was outstanding: the food, the service and the ambiance. Every item was cooked and seasoned to perfection and we could taste freshness in every dish.Mango tart was absolutely HEAVENLY.Portion sizes and quality of food are really worth the price.I highly recommend this restaurant.

Paris Baguette

They are having their 100th day opening celebration with giveaways, such as an insulated lunch bag if you buy a certain dollar amount. Same quality as the long time Garden Grove branch. Id say the booths at the Garden Grove branch are more comfortable for a nice long chat. The tables here are more plain, typical coffee shop, and interior seems noisier. Pastries are fresh, smell great from the strawberry croissants to the myriad of buns. Cakes rotate. NY cheesecake is good, lighter than the Cheesecake Factory ones. That said, they make a wide range, but there are specialty shops that make certain items better. E.g. For strawberry croissants, Cream Pan is the bomb. And for almond croissants, Vie de France. Fruit flavored drinks use autoRegister had problem with a swipped card, had to manually enter the digits. Overall, a solid shop like the other local favorites such as JJ Bakery and SunMerry for pastries and cakes.
