Very upset - DO NOT order online using the eriksdelicafe.com link. We have been ordering here instead of using Door Dash because we want to support the local store. We thought we were supporting the local franchise owner. Today, our order was WRONG - it was dripping Chinese food and 25% in value/size vs. what we ordered from Eriks (we almost thought to just accept the mistake and eat the Chinese food). When I called the # on the receipt, which is Eriks Aptos location, and explained the situation, the person on the food was adamant they do not do delivery service, and obviously, they dont sell Chinese food, so I must have ordered from Door Dash. I. DID. NOT!!!I ordered directly on the eriksdelicafe.com site. Its even linked on the Yelp page here.It turns out Eriks uses some service called Olo. But there is no way to contact Olo as a consumer and request a refund. The receipt actually says call the original store and has the stores number. We did, and were told we were crazy. Even the Olo help pages said to contact the original store. It makes no sense if this was a Door Dash service that they would make the consumer call the store. Olo is a third-party service, but its licensed by Eriks and Eriks is responsible for the screwed up door.Ive been tipping well each time weve ordered thinking it was an Eriks employee. Id ask for a refund, but theres nowhere to ask for it. They better not spit in my food next time when I escalate this issue!

This restaurant is ran by students in the Culinary Arts Program and they do a great job. The beginning students prep and serve lunch, the Advanced students prep and serve dinner. Catering class takes care of all weddings and parties that are booked there at the restaurant. The students learn all about running Front of the House, as well as Back of the House, menu planning, timing and hard work. The instructors are great, most have the experience having worked in kitchens themselves.Make a reservation, check it out, Im sure youll be back:)
Aptos Farmers Market at Cabrillo College
6500 Soquel Dr, Aptos, CA 95003, United States
I love all the farmers markets in Santa Cruz County, but this one is my favorite. I used to live in Aptos, and I studied at Cabrillo, so I have a soft spot for this one. So many great farmers. We come here every fall for a box of persimmons when they are in season. There are also wonderful vendors. I especially enjoy the Japanese artisans. Musubi - delicious! Also the Miso vendor has excellent varieties. See my photo of their salad dressing! Makes every salad yummy!Lastly, this years music with the Poor Carters & Friends is just a delight. You can never go wrong shopping here, rain or shine!
Four Streams Kitchen

I dont like giving reviews but a week after ordering Egg foo young takeout, Im still blown away at how BAD it was. Ive eaten this dish many times, but sorry to say it was beyond unsatisfactory. The edges were burnt, the sauce that goes on top was watery like a soup not a sauce. I would have taken it back but it was late in the evening and after a day of work and a Ten mile or more drive home, I had to eat some of it but Ill never return to this restaurant. I cant believe it has a 4.9 rating! I can cook a better egg foo young, and I am not Chinese! Sorry to have to post this
Caf Sparrow

Arrogant and incredibly rude owner. Overpriced, overrated, slow service, good food..... Take your hard earned money somewhere else. Here is the story, almost unbelievable, sad but true:Made 5:30 reservation. Arrived promptly. Appetizers and drinks arrived in a timely manner. Appetizer was roasted garlic which was good. My Caesar salad was drenched in dressing, but still tasty.50 minutes into the meal, became concerned about the entrees arrival. Expressed my concern to waitress, and I was told oh, you should have told me you needed to leave so soon (Evidently, I incorrectly thought that 1 hr and 15 minutes was enough time for a meal with a very early reservation and only 3 other tables seated!)My immediate thought was she forgot to put in our ticket, or the kitchen is backed up1 hr and 5 minutes after prompt arrival, still no entree, so, we had to leave because I was taking my 10 year daughter to a movie on our special night out. No way to enjoy entrée at this late juncture.Interestingly, and surprising to me, I was told by wait person later we usually allow 1 hr 45 minutes per couple. If this was Le Cirque, Le Bernardin, or the French Laundry, I guess that would be the norm, but this is a casual venue in sleepy Aptos. Really! Here is the interesting part: I did share with owner Bob M. over the phone that I was very displeased, I was edgy, but not rude or vicious, - his response, literally: we are not a fast food restaurant, for that go to Jack in the Box. I was almost speechless, but pressed on. Bob the owners parting shots were you are wrong and Enjoy your meal tonight at Jack in the Box All this witnessed by my 10 year old daughter! Pathetic really. Thanks for the lesson in customer service, Bob. We appreciate it.The good news: we made it to the movie on time and ate popcorn for our entree and enjoyed the flick. Never made it to Jack in the Box, but, I can guarantee you; we would rather have a taco there than ever eat again at Café Sparrow .
Persephone

I have been here several times and never a single time I was let down. I usually order the 3 course menu ($60) including appetizer, pasta, and an entree. Yes the portion is smaller than a la carte, but neither my partner nor I felt we needed to order more. The Chef is also good at making soup. It’s so good I was seriously considering order a regular bowl.Wine by glass is quite pricey, usually between $12-15/glass. We decided to go with a bottle that fits within the budget we are more comfortable with. It’s a family owned restaurant so maybe that’s why it feels even more homier. The paintings on the walls were painted by the mother of the chef. It does get busy on the weekends. It’ll make the whole dining experience even better if they can reduce the number of tables in the restaurant. Our table was really close to other tables it reminded me of my dining experience in Paris.
Pixie Deli and Good Eats
111 Venetian Rd, Aptos, CA 95003, United States
Wonderfully located Deli in the heart of Aptos near Rio Del Mar cross streets. Lots of outdoor seating. Across the street from the beach. Food was delivered fresh and delicious. The staff was super attentive to all of our needs. The owner was even on site having lunch with his family. This small family owned Deli was extremely clean, organized and had a lot of specialty items on site. From imported beers, bakery goods from The Farm, to fresh Frozen specialty ice creams. I ordered the special: The Bay Shrimp Sandwich. Generous portion of shrimp salad mix on a delicious crusty fresh ciabatta roll served with lime wedges. We also ordered one of their house favorites: the pesto sandwich which was also delicious. We topped off our visit to Pixie Deli with a fresh carrot cake muffin from The Farm. No complaints just praises.❤
The Hideout
9051 Soquel Dr, Aptos, CA 95003, United States
Lets be honest, Aptos is sorely lacking on places to eat-out. I have had many experiences at The Hideout, almost always good. If you go during dinner hours, especially a weekend, expect a wait. They have a nice waiting area around a fire pit, and you can order drinks at the bar while you wait. Sitting inside is LOUD. If it is busy in there, it is gonna be loud, so be ready. That being said, when the weather is nice, outdoor seating is available, complete with heaters and blankets for those chilly nights. They are doing the best they can working with an old house. The next aspect of the experience would be the service. I have had some great service dining here, and also some terrible experiences- which I feel is typical for the area. And as the options are limited in Aptos, this has never deterred us from enjoying the food. The food is almost always very good. Occasionally you will notice that a favorite dish is not as good as usual, but that will happen anywhere they are making fresh food. The menu has stayed pretty much the same since they opened- in a positive way. The favorite items from each category remain and they rotate other items as well to keep the options interesting. The Hot wings are excellent as is the Tuna Poke Tower for Appetizers. The wings are crispy, vinegary, and spicy with great blue cheese for dipping if you like. The Poke Tower has a delicious sesame sauce and comes with wonton chips for a crispy bite. The sandwiches are always good with the Burger being a standout. My partner likes the Hideout burger which is blended with bacon and topped with blue cheese. I am a purist and enjoy the regular burger. The steak has been a great staple since they opened with the tasty black garlic butter on top. Recently added Fried Chicken dinner has been really tasty with a great maple syrup sauce to compliment the rich fried chicken.Beer choices are strong with their own Hideout IPA being the standout. Great bar selection with interesting cocktails as well.Overall The Hideout is worth trying if you are from out of town and worth making a regular haunt if a local.
Zameen Mediterranean Cuisine
7528 Soquel Dr, Aptos, CA 95003, United States
Their falafel salads are my favorite. But their tzatziki and hummus are amazing, too. I go to this place at least 3 times a month(if not more) they are amazing. I read a review that said the hummus didn't have enough acid or something- that's not true. Order their hummus and it was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. I hope they don't change their recipe due to the negative comment because everyone loves it and there is bound to be one bad apple thinking something is off. Also, Zameens shrimp is amazing, their pizzas are amazing, their gyros are amazing, it's hard to find something in their menu that isn't amazing to be honest. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all delicious but everyone has their favorites of course! Their lamb burgers are also delicious. My top favorite restaurant for sure.
