Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
7480 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95757, United States
Update 9/26/22: We were greeted and seated right away in the left, front section of the restaurant. It was loud and busy, many kids running around as a we were seated next to a large group celebrating a birthday. We waited 10 mins to be acknowledged by our waitress. She returned 10 mins later to greet us and said she was very busy. She only allowed us to order beverages even though we told her we were ready to order. Another waitress returned to take our order about 15 mins later and apologized for our wait. Again, we waited almost an hour for our waters and we were told our soups would arrive after the new batch was done, which was another 10 min wait. Our waitress did bring out a basket of bread for us and the entrees came out 10 mins later. We were not offered another bowl of soup, which usually the servers do ask. I felt we were ignored and rushed. We tried the new seasonal dishes and they were just ok. I would think again before dining here. Our section felt out of control as there were 2 kids play fighting right next to me as I was trying to eat and the waitress was just running around the restaurant. I think management needs to take a walk around the restaurant to make sure that all guests and servers are taken care of.Food is delicious as usual. Service from our waitress was lacking. She had forgotten my drink from the bar and the bar tender brought it to me after dinner was served. I can tell the drink had been sitting a while because the glass was sweaty and drink was watered down from the melted ice. We had also ordered dessert but that never came and we were not charged. We purchased the $5 take home pasta and waitresses had also forgotten about that, we had to remind her as we got up to leave.

Panera Bread
8519 Bond Rd #106, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
Food is good but the service has gone down. In the last 5 orders placed over the last 3 months we have been given incomplete orders. At first it was just a missing side (bag of chips or bread), the 4th time they didnt include the pickeld with the sandwich and only gave us 2 of the 3 brownies we ordered, placed all 3stickers on the outside if the box, didnt say anything about the missing items and I had to call to get the missing one refunded, which is when they told us they ran out of briwnies. Tonight, they didnt give us the pickles again and the croutons for our soup was missing and didnt know it until we got home. No longer tipping in advanced for online orders.Update: removed a star because of continued poor customer service. Tonight, ordered on line. they ended up behind 30 min--Unfortunate, but not the worst part. Because they have shorted us before, I checked the order and they completely left out the baked goods, which no one notified me of. Had I not checked I wouldnt have known until I got home. Called it to attention of one of employees and her explanation was that they ran out. she compensated by offering choice of another baked goods only to find out that there were at least 12 of one of the items I originally ordered. Had to point out that the solution to the problem isnt just compensating for the error but fixing the process behind the counter and the communication with the customer. In my irritation I overlooked that they forgot the pickles for our sandwiches and the croutons that were supposed to come with our soups. discovered that after I got home. THIS IS WHY I NO LONGER LEAVE TIPS FOR ONLINE ORDERS.Update 5/3/23. Still cant figure out how to count baguettes or use the receipt as a checklist....forgot the chips (again) and shorted us a baguette (again). On the positive side, they remembered to include the croutons for our soups and the pickles that are supposed to come with sandwiches. And when we brought the shortages to their attention they gave us a little extra of both--but this is such a recurring problem it doesnt really repair their image.

Best Kabob & Gyro
9632 Emerald Oak Dr # C, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
Do you know when you walk into a restaurant and you just know it's going to be good? Not only that but it completely satisfies cravings you didn't know you had? Best Kabob & Gyro lived up to its name. Simple food done extremely well. I'm only regretful I didn't find them soonerEvery plate we had was so delicious even as leftovers. We had the lamb and beef gyro, rice plate of chicken and beef (#11), Borani banjan, the sambusa. The eggplant was more heavy on the tomato thanI prefer but still fantastic and melts on the plate.I can't wait to go here on a regular basis.

The Coconut Elk Grove
8469 Elk Grove Blvd #6, Elk Grove, CA 95758, United States
I love Thai food and all the curries. All the Coconut Thai restaurants in Sacramento are excellent. Im so excited that The Coconut opened a new restaurant in Elk Grove.I tried them out a couple of weeks ago. The dining room is much smaller than the other Coconut restaurants in the Sacramento area. There is no room between tables. It was a little uncomfortable! We ordered a red curry with shrimp, which comes with white or brown rice. I got the brown. Both the curry and rice were excellent. However, the boat noodles we ordered were as good as the curry! The soup is too light, and the beef is almost inedible! The overcooked beef was too tough to bite! The service was a bit slow. But they’re soft opening at the time. I think they should be improving soon!

Sourdough & Co - Elk Grove
7440 Laguna Blvd #110, Elk Grove, CA 95758, United States
Ordered food to go, and I checked my order before I left, had to ask them for one item they forgot, but also didnt realize they forgot about my soup until I got home. I called and asked for a refund over the phone not wanting to drive 30 minutes back to get my soup they forgot but they stated I had to come in person to get a refund.

SHABU GEN
9135 W Stockton Blvd #100, Elk Grove, CA 95758, United States
I think this is the first dedicated ayce hot pot restaurant in the area. Korean style shabu that also serves good sushi for dinner. Meats were great. Soup bases were also amazing. Having a cold bar for all the veggies and side dishes is a great option. Service was awesome as well. I hope this place sticks around for the long run. Really good stuff!

Boulevard Bistro
8941 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
A few years ago, I had made a reservation for our anniversary but didnt realize I had fat fingered the date. We ended up being one week late. Since Boulevard Bistro is so cozy, and reservations tight, we were out of luck. We completely understood and simply went somewhere else. Fast forward to this year and we finally get to have a table for our 9th anniversary. Service was outstanding as was all of the food except one item. Heres what we had...Appetizer: Crab Rillettes (Awesome, we couldnt get enough)Wifes Salad: Wedge Salad (shes a salad lover and absolutely loved this one.My Salad: Strawberry Salad (I also loved it)EntreesWife: Pistachio Crusted Halibut (Fantastic, we both loved it)Mine: Ribeye Medium Rare (Though the steak was perfectly MR and very flavorful, this cut had quite a bit of gristle. I realize ribeye steaks have some fat marbling but this wasnt that. Much of it was tough to chew and I have had better cuts at Outback. Dont get me wrong, I still devoured it like a caveman and really enjoyed it but it simply was not the grade of meat you would expect from a Zagat rated restaurant.Desert: We shared the Crème brulee (the caramelized top and inner custard was awesome)Overall though, I would definitely recommend. Well be going back and based on the excellence of all the other menu items we ordered, we simply drew the short straw on the ribeye. I suspect its probably a much better steak on any other night.

Tanuki Izakaya & Ramen
7119 Elk Grove Blvd #125, Elk Grove, CA 95758, United States
My all time favorite foods are served here! Katsudon, katsu curry, shrimp tempura curry, and croquette curry. I have been let down by other Elk Grove restaurants trying to find katsudon that actually follows the actual Japanese recipe (side eyeing Satori Sushi and a few other places so hard right now ?).Im not a person who thinks only Japanese people can make good Japanese food, thats silly. But I do like it to have the right flavors etc if its not presented as fusion or a spin on traditional foods. Most of the Japanese restaurants in our area are run by lovely people from many ethnicities. I like to know ahead of time so that I dont do something dumb like order the items in Japanese (sometimes I forget and ask for ramen kata me and then feel like I was both dumb and rude when the server is like Uhhh what now?). I used to live there and it kind of comes back when youre having the food! The staff here is not Japanese but they are super excited about making good food and greeting customers. Tanukis food is authentic and tastes good. The staff is polite and pays attention to detail. Everyone makes you feel welcome. I have been here maybe 10 times and ordered both dine-in and takeout and the order is always accurate, huge portions, and delicious. The curry is exquisite. For you white people, it may be a bit on the hot side of medium compared to store bought Japanese curry roux. It pairs well with croquettes and shrimp tempura! This restaurant is not good for bringing someone to if you want to talk quietly about deep stuff, Its small and loud like a good ramen shop tends to be. We always end up watching the TVs. There is usually something on with k-pop. No, its not those 2 very famous in the US groups that start with B, so stop asking lol. Its stuff with older SM or JYP artists hosting a variety show or some mvs. I tend to see stuff with Eunhyuk and Donghae from SuJu on the screen a lot I think. I have seen a ranking awards show but it was an old one.I really like the decor. They invested well in it and its very nice.If I could ask for an item that they dont already have, I would like matcha latte, soba noodles, chuka soba, yakisoba, or kids size items. A small ramen or udon with fish cake in it would be super! My kids eat like soooo little and they never want the same thing as each other so having them share is out.I would also adore if they did DoorDash for delivery! Because parking here SUCKS.All in all a solid 5 stars. Thank you!

Ember Korean BBQ
9163 E Stockton Blvd #360, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
Very wonderful experience! As someone that has tried Oz, Gangnam, JJ's, Gen House, Bulta, and Blue House (ranking / preference in that order), this one definitely can slot right next to Oz.First, the cons, the menu felt a bit limited and the meats don't feel as good of a cut as Oz, and the meats don't have a great selection of marinated (mainly soy/garlic which is pretty light on the flavor). They also don't list desert until they offer at the end (ice cream) so not sure why that wasn't on the menu.Pros: Absolutely super tasty home-made popcorn chicken. Beef Bulgogi is solid. Cheese Ramen and most standard appetizers like the Jap Chae tasted slightly better than the rest of the KBBQs. Scallion salad was absolutely delicious too like a nice umami salad. Jeon (Korean pancake) was a big hit too.The wait was only about 5 minutes at 830PM on a Saturday whereas Oz and others were like 60-120 minutes. So that was really nice. Atmosphere is beautiful too- maybe because it's relatively new but I love the vibe.Lastly, as others have said, the service is absolutely A+. They did like 5 grill changes for me, legit we ordered the Korean pancakes and it came out before the server was even done taking our order (because it's on a tablet). Super fast. Servers and extremely friendly and feel genuinely nice. They explained many dishes we weren't sure about in good detail and they did so happily. Servers kept checking on us too.A unique thing at this restaurant is you can get a half order too! Which was awesome because sometimes you just want to try things and don't want to waste. So I ordered half on a ton of things just to get a try. Super smart and helpful!Even though the meat wasn't quite as good as Oz, it was still solid. The service, speed, atmosphere, appetizers, and half order option more than makes up for the shortcomings. It may not be everyone's favorite, but I do think you'll have a solid experience here for sure. Keep it up Ember!!

Sheldon Inn
9000 Grant Line Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
Thursday, 10/26/2023 - Went to The Sheldon Inn with some beautiful friends for dinner. Address is 9000 Grant Line Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. My first time here. It wasnt hard to find with my navigation. Lol. Its located in a quiet area. Upon arrival...Pros1) they have a little parking in the front and plenty of parking on the side of the building.2) there is a ramp to walk up to the front door. Theres a front desk you check in at. Hostess was very nice. As soon as I told her the reservation name, she smiled and took me over to the back, outside tables.3) they have heaters for people who sit outside. Its beautiful in the back. Theres lights hanging around so you can see. Theres a water fountain going.4) there is a wooden gate that was open and there was this large green grass area with beautiful landscape. It looks like it can host parties or weddings there.5) our waitress was so nice. She was very attentive. She even offered to take our picture. So sweet!6) Food presentation was beautiful. The salmon plates and the filet mignon plate looked beautiful. Buuuut.......7) they provided hot water and tea bags. Its $4.00 per person it looks like. I didnt drink any tea. Still got charged for it. Water tasted good here. No funky or metal taste to it.8) bread and butter was good. Butternut Squash soup was good, albeit on the thick side.9) restaurant clean, table clean, plates, cups, bowls, utensils all clean.10) bathroom clean.11) they provided to-go boxes for our left over foods.Cons1) all of our food plates were on the little toooo salty side. I felt it was over salted. I heard my friend said theirs were too. But, we ate it anyways. Because it was still good. Just salty.2)ConclusionWe liked this restaurant. It was very pretty, staffs were professional and attentive, hostess was very nice, restaurant clean, food presentation was great. I would like for them not to over salt their food. If we can salt our own food if its too less, that would have been better. But... in the end, we had a great time there catching up. I recommend this restaurant!
