Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
24688 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward, CA 94545, United States
It sucks when you find something you love at a restaurant, and then you can never get it again. Well, at this restaurant, I had the dish I love once and the following six times I returned, it was out. I tried to come earlier, as early as 2 pm, and they were always out for the day. You would think the manager would prep a little better if this is a constant issue but no.Additionally, they will refill your soup If you want when you dine in. But if you have had to wait longer than 30 minutes for the food to go. You cannot wait for soup even though it is the same price and there is a 30-minute wait. I love the food but the service. Not so much I dont see any other AA people here. Maybe that could have something to do with it.I was incredibly disappointed that I drove here in the rain for the second time this week.
Panera Bread

Panera in Hayward location has been my to go place where I can go and study, thats becaus is closer to me. However, it lack of good customer service. I had encountered many situations already, but this one for me did it. I went to the location to order a coffee. I can say it was only one person at the registered, mmm not so good but ok. Although, they have the self service, it didnt bother me waiting in the line. Im one of those people that like the personal interaction. After the pandemic I guess I learn to appreciate more interacting with people. The cashier was really nice and friendly. They made the coffee within minutes, but here is what made it so bad. The girl incharge of delivering the orders skipped and skipped my coffee for literally 20 minutes which I counted. She talked to her friends that came to dine in at the restaurant. She gave some other people their food and my cup of coffee she kept putting it to the side.I didnt say anything because I wanted to see what she will do. I looked at her once again, she took my coffee and put it to the side once again and again. She finally noticed me obviously I was so angry. she saw me and realized she messed up. My coffee was cold there was no more wipe cream it was not good at all. To me this was the worst customer I ever had.

Aama Kitchen

Aamas Kitchen really surprised me. The starters are that the restaurant has a cozy and well decorated interior with a great staff. The dining experience almost felt as if long time friends or family were serving us a nice meal at their home. Not only is that rare but it really makes every bite feel a bit more special because of the hospitality. It also seemed like this restaurant has regulars and thats a great sign that its a genuine experience.I came here looking for momos and thali and these did not disappoint. The jhol momo is served in a delicate and light but surprising soup that really hits the taste buds just right. It was also stuffed and pretty massive so eating through a plate of these was quite a delight. The thali had a pretty nice spread of excellent dal, goat meat cooked in a curry sauce and a vegetables curry. It comes with a little dessert and some condiments, rice, crispy roti/ crackers thing. The spice and aroma was just right and I loved tasting all the little dishes. Impressively the vegetables curry was the best!! Something I might not usually say lol.I think I have eaten thali before only with a softer roti/ naan and would recommend ordering some too if you get this dish. We also got some panipuri which were really great- I have had them with a soury tamarind juice before but these had a light chutney type sauce which was super delicious. And we balanced the spicy meals with a mango lassi. All wonderful food, and a wonderful dining experience.

A hidden gem for sure. If you arent actively looking for it, you can easily pass it by.Almost a hole in the wall, this restaurant makes food with deeply satisfying flavors and in portions that easily satisfy most appetites. Great choice for first time (or 50th time) ordering Korean. The bulgogi plate is great for people trying to expand their orders passed the atabdard but not too far. Juicy, savory beef with pickled daikon radish, steamed (I think) carrots and broccoli, and white rice, its the type of dish you could find almost anywhere, but done very very well. The Kimbap is also a great choice. Kind of like a cooked beef sushi roll.If you are willing to step a bit further out of your comfort zone to try something similar but more complex, the Bibimbap may be what youre looking for. An assortment of pickled and fresh vegetables, with a portion of beef, over a bed of rice, topped by a sunny side up eggand seasoned seaweed bits.Theoretically, if you would prefer a more cooked egg, you could always try cutting into it and letting the heat of the rice cook it a bit more, or just microwave it a touch. I do recommend leaving the yolk a bit soft to really enrich the dish. The wings have flaky crisp breading, the kind that you can hear crunching with each bite. My favorite are the soy garlic flavor; fragrant with a tough of sweetness. There are still more dishes to try, one I did not take a picture of was the japchae. Honestly hard for me to not order this every time! I love noodles and these are incredibly good. A very different experience to egg or flour noodles, these are chewier and much thinner. An order of this could be a meal on its own, but with so many options, why not have leftovers?

One of the hottest days of summer so far and walking into the restaurant at 630pm was almost like walking into a dry sauna. It must have been at least 85° inside the restaurant. They had a couple of fans on but unfortunately that didnt seem to help any. Not sure if they have any air conditioning or if it was just out of order when we went, but a functioning ac would definitely improve the dining experience on a hot day. Aside from that, everything we ordered was delicious... Pad Thai, crispy Spring rolls, crispy tofu, crab fried rice, short rib mussaman, Papaya salad, pumpkin curry, and chicken satay. ( Needless to say, no soup was ordered during this visit) The servers were very friendly and kept the ice water pitchers coming. They accommodated us by keeping our birthday cake in their refrigerator and brought it out at the end of our meal complete with dessert plates and cake knife and server. I would return to this restaurant again and try more of their many other dishes.
Pot Pie Paradise & Deli

Super delicious freshly made pot pies. The owner is an absolute sweetheart with hands of gold. Whether youre an omnivore, vegetarian or vegan, there are many options to choose from! Over the years Ive tried their meat pies, vegetarian pies, and since Ive recently gone vegan... Their vegan pies! (Yes multiple vegan pies! Not just an option or two, but 8+ options!). From American cuisine to spicy pies inspired from Asian inspired pies, there is a pie for everyone. Their coconut cookies are also house made. They have pies to eat on the spot or frozen pies you can take home.I used to not be particularly attracted to pot pies and didnt care for them, until I tried this place. Now I am a pot pie lover. They are a bit out of the way but worth the trip 100 times over. They also sell dessert pies which l have yet to try. This is one of my favorite places to eat. THANK YOU FOR YOUR DELICIOUS FOOD!!!!Try one or try them all. You literally cant go wrong. They are ALL amazing. Just depends what youre on the mood for ?
Pops Deli & Grill

Really Nice ppl. The only reason I gave a 4 is because, there were no prices on the board. I had no idea if the veggie sandwich was less more or the same as the turkey sandwich or if sliced turkey is less or more then oven roasted turkey. Also didnt know if when my Wife changed the bread from roll to slice was more or less. We looked at the salads & Breakfast. Some of the items on breakfast are there but not all. Also had nothing about what they put on the sandwiches. They asked. Would be nice to see what they have to offer. Asked for a menu. Dont have. You can phone in Your order if You look up online & get the menu. I havent looked at it to see if any prices are there or if the condiments are listed. We enjoyed everything! I ate half veg then half turkey. Next day at the other halves. Still very good. I would not put the italian dressing on the veggie. For me it wasnt the right taste, But that is why You go back to restaurants to find what is right for You. They have many choices. Oh & The next day testing my Blood was right on target! Their soft roll & sourdough must not be High on Carbs! We will so be back....or send my Wife on Her way Home LOL???
Falafel Flame Hayward
22648 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94541, United States
It was Halloween and we went for lunch to this friendly place. What was spooky and bizarre? To get a perfect salmon burger in a falafel cafe :) Juicy, perfectly done, not charred - on a soft bun with decent pickled cukes, red onion, and salad. No fishy smell, not oily, just right. Babaganoush was creamy and silky, pita was freshly baked and warm (not reheated), and the chicken shish kabob was grilled in the right way - not overdone. The long rice was made with saffron and enough butter to make it yummy, not greasy. The only complain? I wish they had soups on the menu, but then again, perhaps soups are not popular in the East Bay. A gent at the register demanded Adana kebab which was not there - must be good to be this popular :)The owner is very nice; he promised to make some extra Adana next day. He also gives you the estimate waiting time for the kabobs (20 min in our case), so you know what to expect (literally :)) The place is very clean, the tables are not crowded, and the service is impeccable - our plates were removed the moment they were empty. My plans are now to go try the calamari (yes, they do have calamari rings on the menu :)) and the salads.
Acqua e Farina
22622 Main St, Hayward, CA 94541, United States
My step-mom selected this restaurant for hey birthday dinner. In attendance was my step-mom, dad, wife, and myself. The restaurant is average-sized, and (from what I was able to tell) has three dining rooms. Upon entry, you walk through the first dining room, which is also the bar. Upon arriving at the back of the first room, you find another dining room to your right (slightly longer than the first...it appears they took over the retail space next door, and converted it into a dining room), a third dining room behind the first, and the kitchen to your left. The ceiling lighting in the second dining room is color-coordinated to the Italian flag (green, white, red). The food is spectacular...honestly, among the best my family has had. From the appetizer (calamari), to our entrees, to our desserts, everything was outstanding. The calamari was like, very tender, not oily in the least...just perfect. Instead of covering each entree (all 4 were different), Ill just suffice it to say we were all extremely pleased...portion size was more than adequate, while quality & temperatures were about as perfect as they could get. Desserts were all excellent...my step-moms creme brulee was one of the best any of us (ok, my wife didnt sample it, but everyone else did) had ever had.The only down side...and, the reason I gave only a 4-star rating...was the service. While it wasnt bad, it certainly wasnt great. Even saying it was good would be an overstatement. The waitress wasnt exactly what Id call attentive...the gal refilling waters, coffee, etc, was FAR more attentive than our server. Even though this was on a Saturday night, our reservation was early enough that it wasnt overly busy. Id estimate her section was no more than 75% filled. The only items arriving in a timely manner were the desserts. I will state that we never felt rushed...but, when you wait 10-15 minutes for your soups & salads to arrive after your appetizer plates are taken away (which was at least 5 minutes after we actually finished the calamari), thats a bit long. Having worked in restaurants, i know this is unacceptable.Honestly, Id have no problem returning. The food is fantastic, and the ambiance is quite nice (almost forgot to mention, its fairly quiet). I just hope that, upon returning, we have a different (ie. better) server.
