California Pizza Kitchen at Laguna Niguel

Horrible experience. I know CPK is a casual location and not fine dining but this was rough. We ordered water 3 times throughout our dining experience and didnt get it until our check. Each time we reminded that we were waiting on waters the server said ok great or perfect, never apologized. I dont know if bread and oil is still offered at CPK, but none of us were offered at any of the tables around us with the same server. When ordering food, she mentioned that sauce/oil is normally given on the side when taking our order so that was expected. When the food came with nothing aside from the main plate to which we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for her to come around and act as if we never mentioned the ranch or oil when taking the order. Now part of the problem is also the robot servers they are using which means your food arrives without a server to ensure everything is there. The robot kitty server thing stops in between a group of tables and displays a table number for that table to get their food. As Guests, we dont know that we are table 144 etc so everyone kept checking what food was on the robot. We also ordered alcoholic drinks, mine came in a tall narrow glass with loads of ice and a half of a pineapple slice so it was really made for use with a straw. When asking for a straw the server turned away and said sure (I think), while walking away. She came with stir straws that dont even extend half the length of the glass of my drink. The restaurant had normal straws as the tables around us were given straws with their waters that we didnt even get yet. We also tried to check in to our CPK rewards, she took the number, but still didnt use it to check us in when we got the check. Couldnt say whether we just had a bad server or if service is just rough overall at the location. We did hear the Hostess at the front talking about how bad the busser was and that he takes forever and they have to stand there and stare at him... Overall, just a huge disappointment as we were looking forward to finally having a CPK nearby.
Pho the Bowl
27931 La Paz Rd A, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
I honestly do not understand how this place has 4 stars. Let me start off by saying the following the pho here is absolutely terrible the quality of meat for one Is bottom tier at best. And it comes out cold anyone who knows anything about pho Is that it has to be served piping hot. Ive given this place maybe 8 or 9 different opportunities over the last 15 or so years and every single time Ive left completely astonished as to how bad the food is. On this particular day the service was good But again the pho is attended with wsy too many noodles which mashed the soup extremely cold. And again the meat quality was tertible chewy to Mahe matters worse i found a fly in my soup half. When I brought it to my waiters attention all he did was take it away and I still got charged for it. It wasnt until I complained about it that they took it off my bill. I also ordered the shaken beef for my son to eat, which was to be fair OK, but thats about the only thing I could say about my lunch and experience. All at all I can say with confidence that I will never ever come back to this place ever again I know its the only Vietnamese restaurant in this area so I understand why so many people still come here to eat But man Ive got to tell you. Id rather drive a mile up the street and go to signature pho. They dont have as large a menu, but if youre actually looking for edible pho, I go there. Pho the bowl ought to change their name because pho Is the last thing they ought to be selling.

Went for a birthday and the starters were good, but after that it got a bit funky. Found a hair in one of our drinks and asked for something else and the server said oh thats just black sea salt, it doesnt dissolve. All of our kitchen staff wear hairnets and he just left it there. And as the rest of the food was being brought out by the kitchen staff guest what....NO HAIRNETS. I get trying to make it seem like your on top of food safety but dont lie about it. And after that the server was just watching us eat, just standing there. Not checking on the kitchen or wiping tables or whatever else but just watching us eat.Other than that the food was pretty good but rather spicy for somethings I know to be mild, the biryani was SPICY. I like spicy but I couldnt have a spoonful on its own due to the spice.Decent food but if I were to go back it would be takeaway, maybe ?.

Family owned Danish food in Laguna Niguel. My friend had recommended we try it based on reviews in another app and I'm so happy we did. Went for lunch on a Thursday I believe and we were quickly seated. We reviewed the menu, and also asked the friendly owner what the best options were and both decided we wanted to mix and match so went with the sliders. These are not your typical slider where one or two bites you are done. They are open faced sandwiches, and you get THREE of them! I opted for the breaded cod, frikadellar, and roasted beef filet. They make everything in house including their delicious rye bread. It's very dense so there is one slice at the bottom of your open faced sandwich which is more than enough bread. The breaded cod is with lemon, asparagus, avocado, and remoulade. The breading was very light which I enjoyed. I could have eaten this without the rye. It was good, but not my favorite. My friend got the salmon instead. The frikadellar was my favorite ❤️. Danish pork meatballs with pickled cabbage and cucumbers . Yummy to my tummy. The meatballs were so tender and the flavor combinations were explosive in my mouth. I'd go back for that meal alone. Finally the roasted beef filet. I wanted to love this with its caramelized onions and pickled beets, but the meat wasn't cut thin or tender enough to easily cut with the knife. I had to fight to get a bite each time. The beets and onions were gobbled up no problem, but the meat was a chore to enjoy. It was cooked nicely, but the cut wasn't a tender piece.Looking forward to going back for the frikadellar meatballs and something on their dinner menu I have yet to try.

This is my new go-to breakfast spot. The man who assisted us was super friendly and helpful. The place was clean, well organized, and the ambience was pleasant. I had the traditional breakfast and it was amazing. I could tell that they were using higher quality eggs than what youd buy at the grocery store. The sausage and potatoes were incredible. And the coffee was straight up magic. Super impressed and will definitely be back. Why wait in line and pay twice as much at other brunch places when you can come here and get better tasting food without the wait?? Delicious, an easy five stars.

This is a second review. While I still like the place I would recommend to not bother with the eggplant parmigiana. Actually, it was more like spaghetti and eggplant parmigiana rather than eggplant parmigiana with a side of spaghetti.Im pretty disappointed since eggplant is fairly inexpensive but they were very stingy with the eggplant and loaded up with the spaghetti. It should have been there other way around.I hate when a restaurant tries to make it look like you are getting a lot by putting a lot of pasta in place of the actual entree.Stay away from the eggplant parmigiana. Not worth it. Flavor wise, it was acceptable but not good enough to make up for the stingy portion size. If I wanted to order spaghetti, I would have. The worst part about this is that I am a diabetic so, I ordered the eggplant instead of a pasta dish but they have way more pasta than the eggplant.Stick with the pizza and baked ziti.---------------------This is the real deal! Finally, great NY pizza. Im so excited. I just tried some slices and they were great. You can tell this is real NY pizza because they sliced the sausage instead of crumbling the sausage like all of the fake NY pizza places in CA.They also have Sicilian pizza which nobody around here has. Thats what Ill be trying next.

I was excited to try a restaurant in the area that had some dishes you don’t always see at every other Indian restaurant. The host/server/chef had a very difficult time understanding me as well as I understanding him. He did not have a great knowledge of Indian food and what he was serving. The pav bhaji was watery like soup. When I pointed out it should not look this way he had no idea what I was talking about and basically shrugged and walked away. When the gulab jamuns arrived cold in the center he had no idea they should be served warm. The rest of the food was just okay. Customer service was terrible. No wonder we were the only people in this entire restaurant.

The food looks great, I got delivery through Uber eats and no chopsticks. Uber suggested calling the restaurant. When I called about this, they said they're sorry but nothing they can do - there was an option to “add chopsticks” on Uber Eats. I didn't see one. No big deal since the food looks great and I figured they'd offer a solution, but this rating is solely based on that ambivalence and customer service. I've never had this experience of missing chopsticks on a delivery, or any sushi order I can remember, which amazes me as I reflect on that. I've never eaten sushi without some ‘sticks but guess I could invest in a pair now, and there's a first for everything, right?. Maybe sushi isn't their main thing here, but the reviews sure were high. Make sure you request them to avoid this. Will adjust review if I hear anything further. Update: the sushi tastes good, still a bummer eating sushi with a fork…
Seasurf Fish Co

I hope my opinion will change and I grow to love this place. Fish restaurants are needed in this area. It is very popular and small so very crowded the 2 times Ive been. First time I ordered a garlic shrimp dish that was delicious EXCEPT it was the only time in my life I was served shrimp cooked and served with the shell ON. You had to pull the shell off with your fingers with all that sauce on the plate. A mess if you are on a date. The meal would have been excellent if they had done the prep work in the kitchen and served shrimp with no shell as every other time in my life when I ordered a dish like this.Second visit I ordered cioppino. The flavor was just a bit off for me and it was loaded with squid my least favorite of the ingredients. Lots of mussels, 1 or 2 shrimp, lots of teeny tiny scallops (I normally love scallops but these itty bitty ones had no taste) 1 piece of other fish.Whether you go to eat in or take out, there is a crowd of people around the small register area which is also where people are waiting for take out. Not designed well.My suggestion, go off hours and it should be more pleasant. There is a small outdoor eating section.
