El Paisa Restaurant
1640 Orange Ave, Long Beach, CA 90813, United States
As a Colombian, who grew up in NY, I had the luxury of authentic Colombian food ( the Colombian community there is big) . Moving out to SD, I missed my authentic Colombian food, until I found this place . The food here is delicious and very authentic unlike the places I tried in SD. No Mexican chorizos in the bandeja paisa at this restaurant ! The soups are great, the beans are great, everything is well seasoned . Though the drive is a way out for me, it is totally worth it . Flavorful, and as real as Colombian food gets ! ?? ?❤️

Soups Cute

I'm a fan of the lentil soup but have tried multiple times to order in with fries and a sandwich and they always miss the fries and keep on sending the sandwich without the sauce. I don't get it. It keeps happening.

Panera Bread
2280 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90815, United States
Why are most of their images of food picture of food, pictures of food taken at a studio and not food posted by the customer? Who are you fooling? Very unethical. They put so much fake images its hard to know what the actual food looks like. No one want to know what a stock image of a meal made somewhere else looks like, they want to know what the meal looks like at the place. Id search stock image of [insert name of dish] for that. Pictures are basically the expectationvsreality subreddit. Sorry, I have to deduct for the dishonesty. Its hard to score for service when things are mostly done on the app. You hardly talk to the employees. I cannot tell if they are hospitable or not, since I dont have an opportunity to talk to them. I can score for speed only. Food does take a while for a fast casual place but I honestly dont mind too much.Food was decent for the price if you get a two item meal deal. I feel like I might as well go to a real restaurant than pay some of those prices for some of the dishes individually. Soups and some bakery items are good. Sandwich is okay. Salad is very bland.

California Pizza Kitchen at The Pike Outlets
61 S Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802, United States
Terrible timing on service. Appetizers and soup showed up with the meals and the were not even hot. The chicken was dry and over cooked. Nothing about this experience was good. Definitely not what you would expect from CPK. I would definitely not recommend this particular restaurant when there are so many other places around here...

Usually stop in for lunch when we are running errands in that area. We live in downtown LB but frequent the 2nd and PCH area. The restaurants across the street at 2nd and PCH and Marina Pacifica dont interest us. CPK has easy parking, isnt over crowded, and service is top knotch. Usually have soup and salad with wine. Keep up the great job!

Appus Cafe Woodruff Medical Building
3816 Woodruff Ave Suite 100B, Long Beach, CA 90808, United States
Is Appus Café delicious or poo-poo? Lets see, shall we?Located at the back of the Woodruff Medical Doctors Offices building, Appus Café is a small eatery serving vegetarian & vegan food.Interestingly, eggs are also on the menu. Eggs are vegetarian? Really? Being an omnivore myself, seeing eggs on the menu is A-OK with me. The healthy fat & cholesterol make eggs a super healthy food to eat. Forget about eating egg white only omelets and such. The nutrition is missing when the yolks removed. Fat, is where its at!Lunch buffet, served from 11am - 4pm, is NOT a buffet. Lunch buffet = 2 item tray which is not all you can eat, for $7+. It consists of biryani rice (with choice of soup poured on top), vegetables & 2 soup items. Considering the buffet would be the best method in trying several options, I went with yellow daal on top of my biryani rice, with mushroom soup & saag paneer as my items. The rice was fluffy & light. Of the soup, my favorite was the mushroom, which had great flavor & the mushrooms were cooked correctly. Surprisingly, everything lacked heat. Good for Appus, the woman working the kitchen had various hot sauces at the ready. After a liberal dousing of Cholula, my meal improved. Finishing my meal within a few minutes, I enjoyed it, but it wasnt satiating for me. For about the same price, I can hit up a lunch buffet at Little India. Put it this way - after leaving, I directly went to Blue Agave Mexican Grill in Artesia for Taco Tuesday. I left Appus Café having the lunch buffet still hungry, which isnt good.If you want a complimentary cup of water, itll come by way of sink.Appus menu includes oatmeal, sandwiches, quesadillas, waffles & burritos, like the Maharaja burrito. Eggplant parmesan & pasta dishes are also available.Service was good. The woman working behind the counter was friendly. For a fast casual place, payment was after completion of my meal. Stools are available to sit for a quick meal, Appus is not a place for groups. A few outdoor tables by the parking lot to dine al fresco. Just park in the back of the office building and look for the tables & signage to find your way.I feel bad not giving Appus Café a higher rating, but buffet means all you can eat! What I got was less than what Id get at Panda Express. The mushroom soup was very good, and apropos for the cold weather weve been experiencing. Perhaps, trying the Maharaja burrito will facilitate my having a better view of Appus, but I left disappointed after having lunch here.

Long Beach Fish Grill
1201 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90804, United States
Being new to LB I didn't realize I live just a few minutes from this place and I'm happy to say I'll be a returning customer.I'll start off by saying I'm not a fan or I have never had clam chowder but I stopped by and picked up a serving and gave it away to someone who does like it and they told me it was delicious.Since I didn't have the clam chowder I went ahead and placed an order for lunch. I ordered the sweet potato fries, and the two taco plate. The sweet potato fries were my FAV, they were wedge cut and cooked to perfection and they came with a side of sauce that I'm not sure with it is but it was so good. The two taco combo comes with rice and beans, I chose two battered fish tacos. I can say the fish tacos were so good and flavorful but the rice and beans were a little too much. The rice and beans weren't my favorite and they seemed to stack the tray with them, next time I'll just purchase the tacos. The staff was very nice and helpful, the location has its own parking lot and is very clean and modern. They do not offer indoor or outdoor seating due to Covid so takeout is available. If you stop by and pick up some food make sure you drop off a plate for me, I'm local ;)

Cajun Crackn Long Beach
7591 Carson Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808, United States
I came here to try the food and was excited to eat some crab. I figured it might be a good place to bring family too and the sentiment is NEVER. I pinpoint my need to run far away was when the appetizer came and from there it was an unnerving feeling that I made a mistake coming here. The waitresses demeanor were a huge factor in that decision. From the moment I walked in the greeter looked surprise to see me before they got their composure together to then the actual waitress bringing me the wrong item I selected after I went into a discussion of what each item is ( I love crab legs but dont want the actual crab to stare at me in death ). One of the surprising things was the lack of knowledge when it came to what the flavors are. Even if you dont like seafood and are there for the paycheck at least gain working knowledge to help me make good food choices when I dont have a clue to how the restaurant seasons their food. By the time I paid and left there I saw one staff member was pre-occupied on their phone and there was nobody else on the floor. Typically when you leave a restaurant somebody thanks you for coming and says bye. There was none of that. Overall my one regrettable visit here was it. Would I recommend this place? No.

Guadalupes Mexican Grill
3431 Pacific Pl, Long Beach, CA 90806, United States
If I could rate this place even lower I definitively would. I have gone to many places in my life but I have never been treated so poorly and inhumanly possible. My experience in this place was terrible to the point were I am thinking of bringing this issue to court for racism and violation of first amendment rights. An employee from this establishment not only did he insult me with unnecessary words but he also threw me out and claimed to call the police on me when I was not doing anything illegal nor was I doing anything against the law. All of this because I was speaking Spanish to him. If I recall correctly and I asked him out of curiosity:-Mind if I ask you a question- No sir go ahead-Why are you keep answering to me in English when I clearly heard you speaking Spanish before and I keep asking you stuff in Spanish?-This is America we dont speak Spanish here. This person has no respect for anyone whatsoever and its a complete ignorant.May I also notice this is not the kind of place that has a sign or a book rule that states: we have the right to deny service to anyone, in fact they did not have one.For anyone that cares to read this I advice you to never go to this place and dont permit people to treat you in such a way.

Tacos El Jalisciense
5923 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90805, United States
Their tacos are pretty good, a little small but for $1.29 seems ok, except lengua, One taco will cost you twice as much.As for me Im happy with asada, cabeza (head meat), labio(beef lip), and cachete (beef cheek). Al vapor means steamed soft tortillas and their salsas are good, warning- habanero is hot af! Be careful.Overall a good option.
